Deer Park in Leeds

We visited Deer Park two weeks ago and unfortunately left quite disappointed, especially considering we’ve had great memories here in the past with lovely coffee and friendly service. This time, we spent around £60 on food, but the quality didn’t match the price. The burger was dry, with barely any toppings – just two pickles and a small portion of chips. The onion rings were overcooked and unappetising, and the chicken burger was really poor, with dry bread and very little inside. The pasta with prawns and crab was also a letdown — we couldn’t find any crab at all. We came in with high expectations based on previous experiences, but sadly this visit didn’t live up to it.

I only went for a drink. Atmosphere was good, lots of free parking (need to record your registration on arrival). Toilets are upstairs.

Spot on food Sam who was serving was lovely

Very tasty food, really enjoyed the Frito Misto sharing starter and the lamb rump was delicious Excellent service, nothing too much trouble, getting my elderly parents a chair with arms that’s easier to get in and out of. Friendly attentive service and nice atmosphere

Excellent service from staff at the bar ,drinks atmosphere good. We had a steak sandwich which we have had a couple times before, this wasn't the best this time round as the bread was burnt , left a burnt taste which spoilt the sandwiches.

Fabulous lunch made all the better by Fletch. Great service, made us all feel very welcome.

Table for 5 at Sunday lunchtime. Food arrived promptly and all together even though we ordered a pretty wide variety off the menu and the restaurant was busy. Service was excellent from Amelie and colleagues: the one friend with all the allergies was looked after and the attention to detail was lovely

Only three vegetarian options on the whole menu, two of which were ‘out of stock’. So the only food I could order was a burger and French fries which were very basic quality out of the freezer, no better than McDonalds. They market this venue as a gastro pub which is a joke. Avoid if you are veggie / vegan.

Amelie was a brilliant waitress nothing was too difficult for her with my tricky diet . I got the most perfectly cooked fish melt in mouth . Going out for food can be stressful for me as my diet is so restrictive and can be boring but tonight oh no fab u lous thank you

Created like a friend, but never been before. Dogs given water and biscuits on arrival. Ordered food and drink at the bar. Only downside both my choice of main and desert not available. But plenty of choice for an alternative

Came for food with my friend. Sunday dinner was really nice, accommodated a few requests we had. Tabi was a great host and look after us from start to finish. Atmosphere is nice and chilled, lovely decor and good music. Would definitely return

Great place for a relaxed meal. It’s trendy and unpretentious, lovely food - something for everyone. Reasonable prices and really friendly and efficient staff (shout-out to Fletch and Em for looking after us so well.)

Had an amazing Bottomless Bubbles afternoon at the Deer Park last week. Sam and the rest of the staff were pleasant, helpful and very accommodating. It was the most sophisticated Bottomless I’ve ever had.! The quality of the food ( a limited choice but everything really tasty) and standard of Prosecco ( there were cocktail choices as well ) were exceptional. Would definitely recommend and will be back again soon to sample the cocktails

Visited the D.P on Friday 21st Feb for a bottomless brunch x7 ladies. From start to our rather late finish we were very well looked after by Sam and the team . The bubbles flowed the food was exceptional the atmosphere was excellent. The bottomless was superb value and I would highly recommend. Hopefully we will be returning soon.

The food that we had was really nice, but we really struggled with how much food they didn’t have, no dirty burgers ( their signature dish) no creme brûlée, no lemon tarte and no cheese and biscuits, the waiting staff were really helpful but it must have been really awkward having to explain so many times about what they didn’t have

Had an amazing experience with tabi as our waitress she was so attentive and made our sunday great. the roast was fantastic. we will definitely be coming back!

Amazing food and service was very good.

Very busy Sunday afternoon were seated straight away. Did ask to move as were in a conservatory area and it was pretty chilly. Waited about 20mins to move. Food was not super quick but worth the wait. They had run out of alot of items though - Sunday afternoon maybe to be expected. Tabi was lovely and friendly- very attentive. Will come back!

We frequented the deer park for a meal , we sat down, ordered.our meal, I ordered a sirloin of beef and my friend a trio of.meats , the beef, the heart of the meal, was inedible, we had to complain, which I hate doing, we also got sat next to a cold conservatory door, the staff all used this to.go.for breaks etc, so I had to get up and put my coat on halfway through my meal.and my Yorkshire pudding went like cardboard, however we both enjoyed the 1 carrot that was on the plate, as the parsnips were burnt also. The staff said they would knock 20% off , I don't think so, especially seen as the 2 glasses of lemonade at almost £8 from a £1 plastic bottle.of R whites lemonade at the bar, was flat,.not 1 bubble.in sight, we complained further and the manager did reduce our costs further, so we paid £30 for 2 carrots 🥕 never again ...

Tasty food here, although slightly overpriced for a chain pub. The main gripe was the service here, friendly staff but the soup we ordered was lukewarm warm, then popped back in the microwave to heat up. Had to ask for water for the table multiple times and I ordered a cheese board which was missing the chutney. Average but tasty food.

We had a lovely meal on a Sunday afternoon at the Deer Park. We had the pleasure of Fletch looking after us during the afternoon. Very polite, warm & friendly guy who could not have been more pfofessional & accommodating. Good food & excellent service!

Great from star to finish. Could see a lot of staff under pressure and Fietch was there to relieve the pressure and de stress other team members. Really held it together

Had Sunday lunch with friends.Aside from the cauliflower cheese which didn't really have cheese at all. But overall good chicken and veggie Wellington and great professional service, would recommend 🙂

Went for Valentines meal . Fletch was our server- he was really lovely and his Northerness made us smile. You don’t hear a strong northern accent like his, it’s bloody wonderful! Food was absolutely spot on, really nice menu, good, tasty food which was hot and came out within a good timeframe . Would highly recommend. Thank you for your right lufffly service fletch!

Deer Park was always my fav for a Sunday Roast. Sadly our visit was a massive disappointment this time. Group of 8 there for 3 hours with bland food. From ordering welcome drinks to waiting on starters and mains, service was slow and we constantly had to ask for someone. Went for sunday dinner for all the roasts to be sold out by 5pm, no kids kids pizza, no veg at all. Everytime we ordered they had to come back for an alternative. When the mains finally turn up, pasta was cold. Chips were spilt by waiter then had to wait for more- cold and undercooked. Steak was tasteless. Just a complete disappointment and with 4 young kids waiting neatly 90 minutes to eat it just was a disaster. Offered 50% of mains but not desserts (because they were the only things on time). I felt sorry for the few waiters who looked under pressured and over worked. Bless them, they did his best with a lack of food and little support it seamed.

After bad service in November for my partners birthday we visited yesterday for a drink, such a lovely pub, we visit frequently, however the fires have only been on one in four times recently and it’s freezing outside, doesn’t make you want to stay longer and spend more money when it’s really cold.

Very attentive staff, good service and pleasant surroundings. The food was good and the restaurant was very comfortable.

Good food as always but a real shame the last few times I've been here the service has been really, really slow. After about 2 hours we decided not to order pudding! Very small portion of food for what you pay for. I got a pie and it came with a very small amount of mash and 4 sprouts! No dish of various veg or anything. Really poor for £18. I hope the portions/ prices and staffing are revised as I used to really enjoy coming here.

It took an hour for our food to come, when it did things we’re missing, drinks didn’t arrive, we mentioned something to the lady on the front of house and she didnt even off an apology. We found her very rude and miserable..

Lovely evening. Not many tables occupied and so we got very personal attention from Matthew. Food was really nice.

We went for Sunday lunch. It was a special family occasion and there were 11 of us. We all had a delicious meal (varied menu choices) and the staff went the extra mile to make our meal really lovely. My sister can't eat certain foods and the staff were knowledgeable and helpful. Would definitely recommend and we'll be back!

Visited with my wife and her 2 sisters. Young man who served us was very pleasant. We ordered our drinks and mains. The girls mains all served at once but my meal wasn't ready so I had to wait. This was the only negative on an otherwise very pleasant early evening at the Deer Park.

Food was excellent. Between us had a combination of different Sunday roasts and range of starters. Drinks, particularly the wine, were quite expensive. Was very busy and although staff were faultless, there was a wait of about an hour for both starters and mains. It meant a 3 course meal was 3 hours which for us was fine but for others I could see was very frustrating. Good atmosphere though and lovely food.

A standout aspect of my visit was the service, thanks to my server, Fletch. From the moment I sat down, Fletch made me feel right at home. He was attentive without being intrusive, offering great recommendations and making sure my dining experience went smoothly. His knowledge of the menu was impressive, and he seemed genuinely passionate about the food and drink options available. Fletch’s friendly demeanor and attentive service really elevated the overall experience. Overall, the Deer Park hotel exceeded my expectations, and Fletch's excellent service played a huge role in making this visit memorable. I’ll definitely be returning, and I highly recommend both the restaurant and, of course, asking for Fletch if you’re lucky enough to have him as your server! Hehe

Had a fantastic time at The Deer Park Pub! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and Fletch our server made the experience even better. Lovely spot, been coming for years. Front Staff always really nice upon entry, welcoming and warming. Today we had a lovely fella fletch who’s been spot on, asking the right questions. Tommy marg is my recommendation for anyone. Not knowing what to get.

An annual regular for us as a family and just a great place to relax with some good food after a busy festive period. Service is always good if not a little slow when busier but that is easily overlooked by the atmosphere itself.

Came for christmas day lunch. We had to wait a little while for r table, which wasnt a problem. Food and and service were fantastic. Staff were so good making sure everything was ok. Thankyou for making are visit speacial. We will be back

Went for a boxing day meal it was a treat from my daughter lovely pub we were shown to our seats and Matthew waited on our every need he was happy smiling and very attentive the meal was lovely I had the turkey which was tender and juicy the gravey was to die for also enjoyed the soup and the chocolate brownie dessert lovely atmosphere we were even given christmas crackers lovely touch but special mention to Matthew fantastic service really looked like he enjoyed his job he is a credit yo you

Really bad. No Christmas atmosphere. No crackers etc on the table, soup starter was cold. No spoons, mains burnt peelings of veg. Dry meat. No gravy. Just really bad.

We came to the deer park for Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve. When we walked in we were given a waiter called Louis and he was so attentive, lovely and smiley. There was a slight issue with one of our meals and he was on it straight away and apologising on the kitchens behalf multiple times even though it wasn’t his fault. Couldn’t have asked for a better waiter he took his time to help explain the food when we asked questions about allergies and would double check with the kitchen instead of just saying yes without knowing, really good at his job and so sweet.

Great staff. Good food. The staff can't do enough for you. Very well organised. My friends and I had the festive menu and they're very flexible. We didn't have to just stick to that menu. There's 2 to choose from and were still able to keep it festive. This was very refreshing as I've never experienced that before. I highly recommend this place
