I recently went to a highly acclaimed, very expensive restaurant in Birmingham city centre which boasted celebrity customers including the star of Top Gun himself. The following week I returned to my local Deedah and I can honestly say that in terms of the amazing flavour of the food, the presentation, the perfectly balanced quantity and speed of service along with wonderful, friendly staff it knocked the socks off just about any other indian retaurant I know. Tom Cruise, you were cheated!

We go here regularly for a meal, with family and friends, the food is always amazing. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. Love it!

One of my most favourite restaurants to dine in. Food is amazing, service is top notch. You can even bring your own alcohol in from the Village Vineyards. Best of all is the prices are reasonable for what you receive.

Women, beware. If you are a women who likes spice, avoid this place. Yes, you're reading this correctly and it's 2023. I ordered off the special menu, a curry that stated it was spicy. The waiter refused to accept my order, saying "you won't like that". I reiterated, that I love spicy food and that I'd love to order this special curry. Still, the waiter refused to accept my request, stating "it's too spicy for you". Honestly, this happened. After several attempts to order what I wanted (?!), I compromised by ordering a naga curry (and, I didn't want to make more of scene as it was my mother's birthday). And, guess what? Yep. When the naga arrived, it was far too mild for my palete. Who knew misogyny was rife in the balti fraternity?

First visit to Deedar, food was decent, no complaints on that front. Service was extremely poor though. Waiters spoke to us very rudely. Treat your customers with respect and your reputation will only get better.

We adore it here. The food is fab and the service is amazing. We recommend the Balti, Chicken Shashlick, Jalfrezi and Shashlick Bhuna. Pilau rice is so flavourful and naan bread is delicious. Thanks to the team for a lovely welcome, great service, and delicious food again 🫶🏻

Came across this place and received a delivery! Absolutely divine! Delivery was nice and quick food was still fairly warm as could be considering, every single piece of it was delicious! Just wish portion sizes was a little bigger being more meat within the curries but couldn’t fault!👍🏻

We have sat in for a meal before which was delicious but unfortunately tonight we ordered a takeaway and it was really disappointing. Our kormas were so watery was more of a soup with a few bits of chicken. We usually love eating here but we won’t be returning. The naan bread and chips were also really stale even tho the restaurant had recently opened.

Nice food but waited 2 hours for main courses and they weren't very hot (temperature not spice) and shame they are not licenced anymore...would go back though

Great curry and great restaurant, we come here often with friends who live in Barnt Green. Glad it has stayed as the Deedar and not changed to a larger chain of restaurants.

Fancy menu with some interesting dishes, let down by over 1 hour wait for 3 meals to come out and despite heating them up on burner at table we're still cold. Prawns were overcooked as is often the case. Needs to focus on the basics, quality ingredients, prompt service and serve it hot.

Happy with our visit. Very friendly service. Decent food. Reasonable prices, good value. A good local curry house.

Been coming here for over 20 years. Portion sizes continue to get smaller. Pictures are of chicken balti’s and madras. Manager said that isn’t normal. It it is sadly. Asked for half money back as I’d only received half portions. My son also found a 6 inch hair in his balti. Never going back. Very disappointed for £64.

Being from Bradford (curry capital of Britain 2011-2016) there is a lot to live up to when it comes to curries. The Deedar Barnt Green was fantastic! Delicious for both omnivores and vegetarians with a vast array of subtle flavours I will definitely be ordering from here again!!!

I eat more curry's than I should across the UK. Since the refit a couple of years ago the Deedar know has a real cosmopolitan feel to it. The bar is now smaller and away from most of the tables. The room itself is light and airy - though as it's a popular place it does sometimes get full. The food is excellent and the staff friendly. They can adapt most dishes to add or remove things. Make them hotter or cooler depending on your taste. At time of writing you take your own drinks in - which makes having a meal out with a few bottles of vino a lot cheaper. There is a very well stocked off license next door and a Tesco a couple of doors up from that so you can buy your drinks when you arrive or even pop out to buy more mid meal if you need to. Very highly recommended. One of my favourite Curry houses.

Love the Deedar and typically dine here once per week. The only thing which lets it down is the 3 course fixed price menu. A single popadom on its own I wouldn’t say is classed as a course, and the menu feels limited. As a result, we just order from the normal menu and the food is always fantastic. The staff have always been attentive and clearly take hygiene seriously.

Regular, every Friday. Great staff, love the food. In particular the chefs specialities that helped me change my 'usual' after 27 years of the same.

Great food and atmosphere in a COVID19 secure environment

Had a fantastic meal, service was excellent. But did not feel covid safe as the staff were NOT wearing face coverings or visors, going to table to table serving customers.

It was my first time eating at the Deedar curry house. Have to say it was awesome! Staff were attentive and friendly. I had the deedar special biriyani and it came with a fried banana on the side and I have to say it worked really well! Excellent curry house!

Friends took us to Deedar on the 24th September! Our local favourite Indian Restaurant which is in Yardley is the Jilabi! We have never found a restaurant to equal the fabulous service and quality until now! We visit our friends in Barnt Green fairly regularly and will most definitely visit again! Two ladies in our group do not eat large meals and were particularly impressed with the smaller portions offered! Well done to staff and management! See you again soon! Jukes family and friends😘!

I unfortunately can only say this place was ok....it lacked anything interesting really. The decor was very basic and felt quite cafe like, there was no ambiance and the open bar had some very loud noisy people who appeared to be there just for a drink rather than food. Service was very slow but the food tasted great, very small portion sizes for the average Indian restaurant though.

Enjoyable but bland. We visited just before the Christmas holidays, which meant several loud, large tables of celebrating guests, making it hard to have a quiet conversation at our table for two. Staff were pleasant. We found the pasanda and korma curries to be quite tasteless, an almost identical flavour, and of an overly-pureed consistency. To be fair, we should have ordered something chunky and spicy as a contrast. The two starters of shish kebab and onion bajees were both good. Lots of downward facing spot lights directly over the tables. Reheating the food table side is a nice touch.

Good curry house. Can't fault it. So close to my house so keep coming back again and again, never bored with food, service or atmosphere.

8 of us sat down tonight for a great evening. Food, service and value we all agreed was excellent.

Food was nice, restaurant was quite cold inside which made it rather uncomfortable.

Not a good experience. Both curries were uninteresting, chapattis were over cooked and like cardboard, staff were friendly but not very professional. No ambience and very overpriced for what you get.

Friendly staff, good food, prices though are slightly higher than the norm.

I love this place perhaps because it is so convenient but mainly down to the very friendly and attentive staff. The menu has grown over the years with some excellent dishes on offer. Highly recommended.
