We go here as a group on a regular basis and always have great food. The staff are friendly and good fun. We go as a group and it's never too loud, we can always hear the conversation. Prices are reasonable and food is good quality. Highly recommend Deanos. Already booked for our next meet up

Booked here for a surprise birthday meal for my husband. A big group of 18 of us (kids and all). Food was prompt given the group size, and absolutely delicious, no complaints from anyone. All ordered a variety of Pizzas, pastas, meats etc, and all plates were cleared! Service was excellent, the 2 waitresses serving our table were absolutely lovely. Staff played along to help with the surprises for my husband, just so accommodating. Can’t wait to return!

Great find - good food, service and ambience. We were in Chester Le Street visiting family and walked passed the restaurant and decided to pay a visit. We had a warm welcome and there were several people inside - not a bad sign for a cold, wet Tuesday early evening. We were told that there was a happy hour menu and had a mix from it and the standard menu - it was only after the food came that we noticed the specials board - at least something to try next time. Food was good and the service was very friendly. Well worth a visit

Back at Deanos after a break of about 3 years, and what a return!! Great value high quality meal, delicious pizza and fillet steak at under half the price you'd pay in Newcastle. Dad and husband had the sea bass cooked in foil which they both agreed was superb. Finished off with deserts, I had the home made tiramisu which was light and delicious. Service was attentive and friendly. Don't think its possible to get better for the (very reasonable!) price.

We were slightly early for our table but we're sat no problem. Service was lovely and prompt. We got our drink straight away and the waitress got timings perfect. I ordered bruschetta and my boyfriend ordered the mozarella which was delicious. Then we had half and half carbonara and a bbq chicken pizza. The bbq chicken pizza was not on the menu (but it has been in the past and it was a favourite of ours) and when we enquired if it was possible, we were immediately accommodated which was a lovely touch. Service was friendly and efficient and with happy hour and the 3 course evening menu, 2 starters, 2 mains and 2 soft drinks came to £28! Couldn't fault the food or the service, it was all excellent. Will definitely be returning and recommending to friends and family.

Service from the 2 young waitresses upstairs was amazing! They were so attentive.The food was lovely as always, really couldn't fault anything!The cocktails not so nice, the first mojito just tasted like water and lime. The sex on beach was alright and the cosmopolitan tasted like a glass of cranberry juice. It's a shame the cocktails let my meal down because I don't drink anything else when I'm out. When we asked for the bill we were returned the desserts menu and then eventually when the bill came back it was wrong. Next time I may try a different night as it was rather busy near the end of our meal.

Very good Service, staff were attentive and eager to please. Food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Cocktails and speciality coffee highly recommended. We are not from the area but urge locals to support this lovely restaurant.

Been here many time always have the same dish ,Mexican risotto delicious,my husband had the lamb shank he said it was really good,we feel quite sad ,as this place is normally really busy ,but it was so quiet ,it was a Sunday night to be fair ,and they are still busy with takeaways ,hope it improves ,we need restaurants like this in our little town ,good food and the staff are friendly ,Stella looked after us this visit , very attentive ,really nice young girl ,so we will be back and try to support our local restaurants

Had a lovely meal off the evening special . Bruschetta was the best we have had . Delicious wafer thin pizza with lots of topping . Staff so friendly - bit of a wait for the bill - so the manager knocked of the price of the beer . Can’t say fairer than that . Will definitely be a regular .

What a fabulous restaurant, food was amazing, there was six in out party, we had a range of meals from the menu and all meals was very tasty, well presented, all the staff were friendly, we received a first class service, well worth a visit, it was my first visit and certainly won't be my last.

Would not eat anywhere else! The food is absolutely amazing highest quality ingredients used we go all the time and never had a bad meal. The customer service is also excellent honestly just get yourself their!!

Frequently go here with my family and the food is amazing. There is plenty of range on the menu from pizzas to chicken dishes. Definitely would recommend the BBQ pizza. Service was super fast and staff were really polite

Ordered a takeaway, 2 pizzas 1 pasta and a portion of chips for only £17 and it was delicious, I’m a self confessed food snob and I was very impressed, I shall be ordering again soon

We live in a village local to the restaurant but have never visited before (or any restaurant in Chester-le-Street actually) but we heard that they had started a delivery service what with the current lock-down restrictions and so we decided to give it a go. We were not disappointed. The food arrived within the time-frame given when we ordered and it was delicious. I honestly couldn't fault anything about it; the portions, the flavours, the size of the selection on the menu. Hopefully when we're finally through the other side of this lock-down we will definitely be visiting this restaurant.

Very friendly and cooperative staff. Excellent quality food at an extremely reasonable price. We went for an early supper before a meeting and it worked perfectly. We were on the special menu and there was plenty of choice.

Myself and my friend have went to the Greek night at Deanos! The food was Devine, beautiful Greek dishes, served by friendly and helpful staff. Entertainment was excellent too!

Lovely evening spent with family and friends at the restaurant, good atmosphere and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The food was very good, it was not the normal al carte menu as this was a Greek food and music evening. I had the meatballs which were delicious and the lamb kleftico which is the best I’ve tasted. Would definitely recommend this restaurant

Nice food, good friendly service. Downside it was very cold inside the restaurant especially after it has been open for Sunday lunch. Also toilets were like walking into a freezer. Overall cheap and cheerful,,,needs the heating sorted.

Been many times, asked for the arraabiata to have a bit of, seafood added, the Waitress added you cant, even if we paid the difference, she never even tried.Shame as the other waitresses were very polite and could not do enough .

Popped in here before going to see Tears for Fears at the Cricket Ground on the off chance they'd have a table available. Two mains, desserts and drinks for less than £30 bargain. Food was very tasty, nice atmosphere and attentive staff. What more could you want?

Called Thursday evening at 6 o'clock have been on many occasions this year was served a fillet steak which was no more than 5 to 6 oz cooked sauce was cold 18.50 pounds sent a message via message got reply will contact you now 4 days in and nothing will not recommend to anyone again my bill was around 60 pound for 2

Staying at the nearby Lumley Castle we looked for a traditional Italian restaurant and found one in Chester Le Street. We had a warm welcome by the owner and as it was on a Wednesday assumed it would be quiet but after a while the ground floor was full.

As we live Local we visit here a lot Fab food Great value Lovely staff The place really can’t be beaten and we will be returning in the coming weeks

Me and my partner popped in on a Wednesday for a quick lunch. This place is a family favourite and it was the first time he had ever been. We got pizza and pasta and did half and half. Service was good, very impressed as one guy served multiple tables! You could see he was working hard but still nothing was too much trouble. My partner is a fussy eater but he was won over and we're already planning our next visit! Very reasonably priced, good service and amazing food. Been a family favourite for years so will continue to recommend to anyone.

What a superb find! We were staying in Chester-le-Street for a couple of days and came upon Deanos while walking in the town (they were closed as it was mid-afternoon). Checked out the menu in the window and decided to 'chance it' for that evening. Arrived about 7.30pm with no booking but there was no problem as we were seated straight away. Great menu and super helpful waiting staff made our food choices easy. Delicious meal and very relaxed and friendly ambience. We were so pleased with our 'chance find' we asked if we could book a table for the following (Friday) night. Of course there was no problem and we were delighted to return the following evening for another fabulous dining experience. We're returning to the area in a few weeks and will definitely make another visit. Just a shame it's not closer to where we live! Superb restaurant. Thank you Deanos.

2nd visit in the last 3 months Food was reasonably good . I did however think the ham in my calzoni pizza was a bit like spam and cut in small square chunks . Service was attentive but lacked accuracy at times ,(Forgot drinks and forgot that I had asked for the bill), In defence I would say they were very busy .

Best restaurant in Durham by far. The staff are friendly, the food is fantastic and the location is perfect. Visited for a night out but the venue would be suitable for any occasion. Well worth a visit. Well done.

Ok, so we opted for the early evening special, but even then you expect something better than what came along. After a decent black pudding starter came pizza's that were tasteless and undercooked. Except, that is, the chicken which was bone dry. God knows how that happened. We finished off with a cup of stale coffee. Yuck. The only saving grace were the waitresses who were very nice.

We were passing through Chester le Street and saw this modest looking Italian restaurant handily situated opposite a car park so we thought we'd give it a go.

I recently ate here on a Sunday afternoon with some friends and my little boy. It's a quaint little place which is very welcoming and friendly. The menu is full of tasty sounding Italian fishes all reasonably priced, I went for the cannelloni, the homemade pancakes in this was incredible!! The lady serving was very attentive and really good with my little boy who enjoyed his pizza and I've cream. Will 100% be returning

For a birthday surprise I was taken to Deano’s. Since my nickname is Deano, I was beside myself with the wit of this. I wanted to tell the lovely waitress, but I had a mouthful of pizza. After that I felt the moment had passed.

I go here virtually every week and I'm never disappointed. Never. It's always a friendly place and the food is great value so you can go again and again.

We had dinner last night at Deano’s- our first visit and it was excellent. We ate off the set menu which was very good value and the house red wine was great.

This is one of mine and my fiances favourite restaurants. Pizzas, pastas and meat courses are extremely tasty and typical of a family Italians. Atmosphere and staff are lovely, and food is always prompt and of a high standard. It's completely what you would expect for the prices you pay. A good old fashioned cheap and cheerful Italian restaurant.

This place is usually excellent value for money. On our latest visit I had pizza which tasted overwhelmingly of stale garlic. I mentioned this to the server who said that couldn't be the case as there was no garlic in it ! Its always helpful if the staff know something about the food they are serving rather than being completely ignorant of what goes into an Italian pizza! It won't put me off going back though because the food is usually very nice and good value for money.

Had read good reviews for this and some other Italian restaurants in the town, but this one was the first one we came to, so we tried it. Hadn't booked, but got a table for 3, without any problem. The food was delicious, with generous sized portions, and friendly and efficient service. I would definitely go back if I was in the area again.

The food is not mitchelin stared but its tasty and good value for money. The place is clean and staff are friendly. I would say it needs more ambience the decor it’s quit clinical it’s got no personality. All in all good budget restaurant 😊

Wandered into Deanos by chance on a visit to the town with my Mum. The weather was awful and it was the first place we saw from the car park. Very glad we did. We had 2 happy hour pasta dishes for £4.95 with some garlic bread. Both dishes were freshly cooked and very nicely presented. Staff were friendly and the service was good. Wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Very disappointed in Deanos, we have been going here regular and having takeaways for the past few years.We will not be returning or ordering a takeaway ever again, all the food was stone cold, even though we arrived to collect it earlier than told and only live 5 mins away! The order was wrong, the veg was still hard and the portion sizes were meant for a small child!

Recent visit on a busy Saturday night, we were seated promptly- drink and food orders taken seamlessly. Food and service was first class, the whole vibe of the place is just right. We were a family group of four who ate here on Saturday evening, 29 Dec. We had a warm welcome and were shown to a lovely table. A very comprehensive menu meant that we could all order our favourites. The wine list is excellent, with several unusual wines at good prices. We each had 3 courses with drinks. The service was excellent and the food was really good. The prices are very reasonable for the quality that is served.

My friends and I visited Deanos for an evening meal and thought that the food was very average. Service was quick but the food was quite boring. We all had a pasta so could not comment on the pizza but overall an average visit.

My wife and I had another night at this excellent restaurant and yet again the service and the food was out of this world it was possibly the best Fillet I have tasted can’t wait for return thanks to all staff Mick

The friends who live in CLS knew of this place. While the owner is Greek, our server was Italian and knew how to serve food al italiano to three ex-Italy residents. Delicious food. Well worth the visit.

Me and my boyfriend called here after a firework display, expecting them to turn us away. The restaurant was really busy but managed to squeeze us in. The staff and food were both lovely and we didn’t have to wait long at all for food or drinks.

We dine here about once a month. The food is always good and reasonably priced. The staff are friendly and very helpful. We have been there for birthdays and anniversarys and have never been disappointed. One time when the weather was particularly cold they even turned the heating up for us. Love this place.

We were looking for a meal in Chester-le-Street and went to Deano's. We had the 3-course meal at a very reasonable price and the food was lovely. The service was good and I would certainly recommend the restaurant.

Attended here with friends for a youngster’s birthday party and dined off the set three course menu, food was delicious and great value coupled with excellent friendly service. Can highly recommend as traditional Italian fare.

My family eat here weekly as it's nigh on cheaper than eating at home! A starter and main course at lunch time for less than a fiver is hard to beat. And the quality of the food belies the price. Never change Deanos!

We have been meaning to try Deano's for some time but events put this on hold. At last we made it, to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. We received a warm welcome. There is a set 3 course menu with adequate choice, available for a very reasonable £8.95 but we preferred to order from the main menu which offered greater and more varied options. There is also an additional specials menu.

We were very surprised to be honest at the quality of the food served in this Italian restaurant. My partner ordered seafood lasagna and says it was one of the best she has ever tasted. I ordered the Penna Amatriciana and asked for chillies to be added and I wasn't disappointed. it was excellent. We ordered an italian wine that we both like and we were quite surprised that they could sell it so cheaply.

Was slightly sceptical arriving here with my daughter 6pm mon night with no recommendations, how wrong i was. On arrival three occupied tables but the rest soon filled up plus upstairs tables too. We opted for £8.95 for three courses so perfect for my 10 year old (who has a lager appetite than offered on a child's menu). 3 courses each,all faultless and reasonable sized portions so not too out facing but we were more than full on finishing. Quality authentic italian food, would defo return.

Visited on a Tuesday night when we thought it would be quiet. How wrong we were. The place was lively. They had an excellent menu at only £8.95 for three courses and there were no small servings or lower quality food. We both enjoyed our meals and the service was good. Always worth a visit if you're in the area.

There were five of us in the group went for lunch on a Sunday at 2pm, no special menu as such for Father’s Day but the father got a free drink. We all had starters, mains and 3 desserts, the bill came to a £105 and that included wine, beer and soft drinks, the staff clean tidy and very attentive, for those with mobility issues there are a couple of steps, toilets I believe are up a flight of stairs but there is a clean disabled one on the ground floor next to the bar, parking is in main car park opposite entrance to restaurant, plenty blue badge bays all free on a Sunday.

Visited with my fiancé and kids. We opted for the special as it’s cheaper and easier to pop out for tea than cook it at home. We opted for pasta whilst the kids had pizza. Great service and lovely food.

As a big family celebrating 2 big birthdays and 1 retirement, we went to this restaurant. There was 18 of us but 5 were children. The food was excellent, the staff were fantastic to say the least. There was nothing that was to much trouble we had a fantastic afternoon with wonderful food. The plus was it is family owned and run and it's not far from everything going on in and around Newcastle.

As usual this little restaurant never fails to impress. Table a 8, well looked after with excellent food at a great price. We have visited here since it opened and I have to say you would need to look very hard to find a better place to eat locally. The Chef Special menu on Sunday was superb with lobster ravioli followed by sirloin steak. With three bottles of wine and a few other drinks £30 a head.

This isn't, as the menu might lead you to believe, a true Italian restaurant but nonetheless the food and service are good. They also do special offers for early diners on certain evenings each week which makes it an attractive and affordable alternative to cooking at home. The atmosphere is cosy and the staff friendly and helpful. This is an all round good value place to go.
