Food is top-notch fantastic cafe the waitresses are very complacent and been there a long time you take your life in your hands one day they are nice the next day they are miserable not happy at all just ok and goodbye my mum is in a care home in Clacton and I visit once a week a news Davies as the food is nice but staff not so good

Had the Eggs Royale. Asked if it came with muffins was told yes. Turned out to be un toasted bap, over cooked eggs and disguised with hollandaise sauce. Shame because nice people and atmosphere

I had a lovely Chicken Curry. It was hot, but you could still taste the flavour of the Spices. I've had Curries where they were just hot, you couldn't taste the food or spices. This one I recommend. I prefer it without the Coriander. That's just me. The Mango Chutney is a must, it adds the finishing garnish. The staff are nice, they try to accommodate as best as they can to meet your tastes in food. You can also have a laugh with them at times. Something really funny happened the other week, Dad and I couldn't do nothing but laugh. The food is really well cooked. Always been happy with it

WE HAVE BEEN GOING TO DAVEY'S RESTAURANT FOR 16YRS ,MY PARENT'S LOVED COMING HERE. ITS FAMILY RUN . THE ATMOSPHERE IS LOVELY. THE FOOD IS FIRST RATE 10/10. WE WENT THERE LAST WEEK, I HAD ROAST CHICKEN DINNER, IT WAS SO BIG, I COULD ONLY EAT HALF OF IT . PRICES ARE EXCELLENT AS WELL.ITS THE BEST RESTAURANT IN CLACTON. Excellent way to start the Easter long weekend 2024! trying out the new menu at Davey's Cafe Breakfast menu! Yes it was as good as it looks! Only a 1 minute walk from town centre this cafe has had the same owner operator/Chef for 35+ years. Certainly the best breakfast and value in Clacton! Best mug of tea too! Consistently GREAT food, great service, helpful, friendly staff, who have worked here for years. Very competitively priced, daily fresh food, Davey's is Clacton's best kept secret. Recommend! 10/10 The homemade cake of the day is always worth trying as are also delish!

A very good cafe, very busy so best to book in advance. We had breakfasts which were cooked well. Lots of other options available.

Another visit to my brother in law & sister in law in clacton. We always go to Davey's for breakfast each day. Super choice and cooked to perfection as well as tasty. Excellent value for money with great service by friendly staff. Recommend a visit if you're in Clacton for breakfast or dinner. Ideal for families . Steve murray

Everyones experience is different but my personal experience at Davey's Restaurant is always positive and the meals are delightful to the eye and fulfilling, try and go as often as I can would definitely recommend*****

We always come here when in Clacton on sea and it has always been very good but things do change I guess.the prices have gone up a little but so has everything else so can't complain about that but the food wasn't up to usual standard and the service has gone down hill.i will look for somewhere else to eat when I'm next down

We ordered two lattes for drinks, frankly I had no idea what sort drink they gave us. My wife changed hers but mine, I thought there was salt in my drink. Horrible and testless. We asked for white and brown toast with butter but we had them before and not toast. I couldn't put up anymore, I asked to change. The food wasn't great either. We were visiting Clacton for the first time and decided to support local shop rather McDonald's, but we were regret to do that. I am afraid: not recommend.

Lovely food served here! Love the roast of the day and the sliced beef is so tender 😋. We ordered a beef lasagna, quiche, lamb chop and the crispy cod strips for the 7 of us. There's no regrets!!😁. Thanks for the good food and services provided.

Food is nice. Very expensive for children

Have used this restaurant several times before but didn't enjoy it this time. I had the lasagne but it had tiny tiny pieces of mince in it, was very tomatoy and had a very thick layer of white sauce on the top. Wasn't the best. Also very expensive compared to other restaurants we dine in. The staff seemed abit stressed and didn't come across friendly at times.

I lived in clacton for a long time and this is my and my families favourite place to eat. The food Is always fresh, well presented and tasty. Lots of variety to chose from, I always have a beef dinner. I still travel down an hour and a half just to have a Daveys every week or 2. If you want guaranteed good food with good personal service for a very reasonable price then this is the place to go.

This place is a clacton institution, been here for decades. The food is always lovely, really nice fresh veg and good variety. The ladies are busy but friendly and it's not too expensive. It's a working class kind of place, but two steps above most of them. It's the best place for lunch in town.

Always been a favourite of ours when we want lunch nice friendly restaurant

We went in to have a drink we ordered two hot drinks and were made to feel uncomfortable. As we were sitting in drinking our drinks we over heard the staff talking about us. This is not acceptable and we will not be going in again.

Shhhh don't tell everyone this place is the best ,real homemade grub nd lovely staff we always head there.

Have been to Daveys many timesand loved it good food and service. The last time I went a couple came in after us, they had their order taken and drinks served. We were ignored for about 10 mins we were getting annoyed when finally she came over. If it hadn't been for promising my grandson a treat we would have walked and told her why. I am putting this review not to harm business but hopefully help then see that not all are happy as they have lost a family of customers. I don't want them to loose more.

This place offers good value food. It's not large so I'd recommend pre booking to ensure you get a table if there is a few of you in a group.

Love it here. Staff were lovely. We had make your own breakfast and omelette and chips. Perfectly delicious. We was walk-in but got busy very quick. Definitely going back. Only reason for 4 stars is the toilets. Definitely need a revamp/updo.

This morning we had the pleasure of breakfast at Daveys. The service, seating area and food was 5* plus!!! Absolutely superb from start to finish.

Went here on the of chance, read the reviews and can say it lived up to them. Very friendly and clean, food was nicely cooked and reasonably priced. Would highly recommend. Mum and I had jacket potato filled with bolognaise and cheese and salad. The salad was really fresh.

Only had a very light lunch and a coffee , but the food looked amazing that others ordered, and all clean plates.
