Simply the Best Chippy in Daventry!** We've been loyal customers for many years and wouldn't think of going anywhere else. Recently, we had the pleasure of having their team cater our wedding, and they truly delivered. Serving 100 guests, they were organised and efficient. The food arrived hot, boxed with individual and table numbers, making it easy to serve. The price was as reasonable as always, offering great value. If you're considering fish and chips for your wedding, I can't recommend them highly enough. Thank you so much once again, you made our day!

Been meaning to try this place for a while but have been put off by rival fish and chip shops in Daventry with the occasional exception of one. Tried this evening and to be honest this place needs to get a bit more love. Chips phenomenal, taste like chips from a chippy used too, doesn't leave a lard lip liner ,nice and browned very well cooked. Big one for me is Pies are NOT microwaved. Quite like the old pukka pies but every shop going seems to think they way to serve them is to pop them in a microwave to serve, this just makes them mushy and grim. Daventry Squares pies are awesome and served as they should be. Edit ; Tried their fish this evening, now to give context I lived on the Cornish coast for near on 10 years so fish is hard to beat from there , for the fish I'd give a solid 8-9 but given we're in Midlands that's still impressive given location. The batter however a solid 10 out of 10, Still crispy nice flavour all in all still the best I've tried from a non coastal location. Rare I say this but I also think their prices are cheap too which given the economic climate is impressive. This place is easily the best fish and chip shop in Daventry & surrounding area right now, well done to the staff and owners for not taking shortcuts on quality, can't wait for next takeout.👏👏👏👏

Absolutely excellent and PROPER chip shop. Value for money is insane. 2 Battered Sausage 2 Jumbo Saveloy 2 Chips 6 Chicken Nuggets... All for £16!! Piping hot and delicious. Brilliant gem of the town.

For years in Daventry, Trawlers was Number 1 for food. Not anymore!!. The fish & chips from Daventry Square Fish Bar is FANTASTIC!! THESE ARE THE PEOPLE TO BEAT!!!! Brilliant food, really nice & pleasant staff & well priced. The food is first class, I can not make it anymore clearer....THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE!!! Thank you. The food from Daventry Square Fish Bar is excellent. Freshly cooked to perfection. The establishment is fantastically clean. The staff are always friendly & helpful. Good food, great value. Had fish and chips from here last night and I can honestly say it was the worse fish and chips I've ever had, chips were dry and covered in black bits and fish was overcooked and rectangular like it has just come out of a packet from tesco. I feel like all the local chippys have gone down hill but this one was the worse 🤮

Every so often we pop over to Daventry with my son to see some friends & quite often we will get some Fish & Chips from this Chippy The portions are huge & the quality of the food is second to none! The staff are very friendly & appreciative too We’ll worth a visit

I went to this Chippy at 5.10pm, they open at 5pm, when I got home, I found the chips (£2.70 for a small portion) were re-heated from lunchtime, absolutely awful. Needless to say that this is the last time I use this Chippy.

Horrible! Went in at 1pm on Friday 17th September. Ordered chips, chicken & mushroom pie with a large battered sausage & a large tub of curry sauce. The lady serving asked to confirm that I wanted a large tub of peas 🤢🤮, I politely corrected her asking for Curry sauce. She immediately turned around and potted up my “curry sauce”. I got home to find I had peas and not curry sauce 🤮 and that my pie was rock solid over cooked or from the day before. The chips where as dry as a nuns habit and tasteless. I tried the pie by snapping it in half and eating a bit of the filling, it had a very odd taste and I had to Immediately spit it out to save my stomach! The only thing I ate was the battered sausage. Don’t think I’ll bother again.

This is the place for a evening takeaway. For many years we have used another Chippy in the area (not fair to mention its name) until a freind asked to to give Daventry square fish bar a go. Wife and i had the best fish in a long time and the size of the min fish was bigger than most shops large fish. Trust me there is nothing min about it. the chips where perfact for us and the brother inlaw and wife loved the burgers.The shop staff were very friendly and where ready to go that extra mile to make sure we got what we asked for including some fussy requests from the wife.This place is now our weekly vist without fail. have now been going here for the past 6 months, never been disappointed.

Visited this chippy yesterday teatime, hadn't preordered but was safely guided by a super efficient worker outside the shop in where to stand and what to do. Even offered a brolly due to the rain! Service was quick and food was delicious. Thankyou.

Delicious fish & chips as always, and very good value for money. Staff always very friendly. Have a good system for Covid distancing while waiting. And phoning ahead earlier in the day to book a collection slot reduces waiting times.

Was amazing..Loved the chips and the portion size was very satisfying.

The fish was lovely. I would complain though as I expected a square fish. And when I unwrapped the packaging (incidentally rectangular) it was a messy gnarly fish shape) I mean if I had ordered alphabetty waffle letters with it, would I have got numbers? Maybe you can't fit square fish in round mouths?

Went to get fish and chips takeaway for my wife and my tea. I went just as it opened and ordered two cod and a portion of chips. The young lady was very pleasant and told me that it would take a few minutes as they cooked it fresh. This was no problem at all. I took it home and I must say it was superb, the batter on the fish was lovely and crisp very tasty, and the chips were lovely. My first time of visiting but certainly won’t be the last. Very pleased with it!

What you'd expect from a solid local chippy, try to phone ahead with your order in order to not have to wait 20 mins for your chicken portions to be cooked from scratch!
