Darjeeling in Trafford

We visit this restaurant on a regular basis, visited last night with friends and as always had a fantastic meal, we all ordered different meals everything was hot fresh and tasty, definitely one of the best Indian restaurants around, waiters professional and friendly, nothing is to much trouble, will continue to visit and would not hesitate to recommend.

We’ve been wanting to try this restaurant after seeing the staff give a homeless person some food back in winter. Today was our first at Darjeeling and I couldn’t rate the service any higher! From start to finish the service was 10/10 and the staff went above and beyond in accommodating us! Today we got our food as a takeaway, but we will definitely be back to enjoy the cuisine in their restaurant!

Beautiful onion bhajis and poppadoms. Lovely chutneys - I enjoyed the spicy one. Gorgeous chicken sizzler. Beautiful vegetable rice. Lovely prawn bhuna. The vegetable rogan josh was to die for.

Fantastic Balti dish, friendly service. Will definitely eat there again. Take away service excellent too, although not tried delivering.

I ordered a takeaway during lockdown and what a brilliant service. Very busy but only had to wait about 20 mins and food was excellent, plenty of it, in fact had to put some in the freezer for another day. Highly recommended.

Ordered food from here through Deliveroo, waited an hour and a half then messaged Deliveroo to see how much longer we would be waiting. Deliveroo got in touch with the restaurant and was told the food would be another 25 minutes they asked if we wanted to continue waiting or cancel the order. We told them we would contumely to wait . After over half an hour Deliveroo messaged us to say they had spoke to the restaurant and was told the food was still not ready and would be a while longer. Deliveroo also said that all their drivers were refusing to go to this restaurant as they were being kept waiting far too long. By this time we had been waiting over 2 hours so we decided we would cancel the order and get our food elsewhere. Very disappointed with the restaurant.

Awful. 2 hours to get here! Paneer tikka starter was absolutely not that. Just char grilled. I make this at home and was very upset to be charged £4 for four pieces of paneer. Feel completely robbed. Smashed up poppadoms. Old pickle trays. Paneer tikka masala has zero skill going into it. Definitely not done the marinade first. It was sloppy and displeasing. The lamb dish was just ok. More spice than flavour which leaves the skill level low again. Why on Earth open if you can’t deliver a good product. Garlic naan was poor. Waited months for a decent curry as there isn’t one near us. Over £50 for two people. Don’t waste your money. Go elsewhere. Extremely disappointed and robbed.

Food was late, of ok quality (beef was tender in fairness), not overly flavoursome, my hot dish was just not hot in anyway. The King Prawn dish we paid £10.50 for, we got two prawns and no sauce which it was supposed to come with.

Had a few takeaways during lockdown, this was by far the best. Food delivered at the time it was requested, piping hot and tasted as good as ever. Excellent service, excellent value and excellent food! Thank you Darjeeling, you are definitely my “go to” from now on!

Plenty of my friends have visited this place sectioned and recommend it so when the opportunity arose I took it. We were a party of 4 and hadn’t booked but went in the off chance. The restaurant was extremely busy and there were no free tables. We had to wait for about 10 minutes for one. Great looking menu with plenty of choice. I tried the prawn puri to start (my all time favourite Indian starter) and it didn’t disappoint. Everything tasted fresh. Mains were also good and very good keema naan bread! My first visit, but definitely won’t be my last.

Although the food was good the service was not. My seventeen year old granddaughter went with her boyfriend for a meal here last night. They asked for soft drinks three times. It arrived when the meal had almost finished. Whilst they were still sitting at the table a member of staff took the plates and wiped the table without saying a word. Young people deserve the same respect as the older generation.

Revisited this restaurant with some other friends. They loved the food as much as we do. Last time we came here I wrote a review saying the plates were cold......well they listened as this time our plates were nice and hot...so no more complaints. As promised we now score this restaurant a five.

Eaten here since the very first day it opened ! Fantastic food , great value and service with a smile - Raji and Tipi are amazing at what they do ! Credit to you both for running a fantastic establishment !

This was our 2nd visit to Darjeeling. We were as impressed as we were on our first visit. Food delicious - best poppadom pickle tray!! Staff are all so pleasant. Will definitely be back!!

We visited here a few weeks ago with a group of friends. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Restaurant is small and cosy but really good atmosphere. Menu choices great and all food was very good. Only one criticism is that they don’t use hot plates in middle of table like a lot of Indian restaurants do, which is fine providing that food is served in dishes that are hot and that the plates are also hot. Unfortunately they were not. Friends who visited later on our recommendation also made the same comments. An oversight which is very easily rectified so come on Darjeeling, get the plates in the oven and you’ll definitely be scoring a Five.

First time there , restaurant lovely and clean it gets quite busy so it's best to book , plenty to choose from on the menu ,I ordered a prawn Rogan Josh with a mushroom rice ,there was plenty to eat lots of prawns ,the rice was very tasty and light .you cannot use your credit card they only take cash
