Always lovely food with great service. Staff are super friendly

We had such a lovely meal at Daphne’s. My family have been coming here for over 50 years but haven’t been able to make it for a few years now. We’re so glad that we came back though as it was such a fantastic evening, catering perfectly for the whole family, including my little un! The food was absolutely fantastic, with all of the meat and fish cooked to melt in your mouth and everything else prepared to perfection too! The spanakopita are so much better than I’ve ever had anywhere else, the octopus is famous in my family and you won’t find a better taramasalata anywhere. It’s the first time that we’ve had the aubergine on the grill with the garlic dip but that was so good, it’ll be a staple when we next visit. As a main I had the kleftiko, which as always, fell off the bone and was ridiculously tasty. I have to say though, having tried my girlfriend’s swordfish, I may even be tempted to have that next time as it was off the scale too! We finished off with a shared selection of desserts, which considering how full we all were, didn’t last long on the plates as they were so good. Honestly, I don’t think there’s anything they serve here which isn’t 10/10! All of the house wines we tried were perfect with the food too. As if the food wasn’t enough, the warm and friendly welcome that we received gave us such nostalgia of times gone by. Nicholas and the team create such a lovely atmosphere and it was so great to see them again. My son’s day was made by Nicholas’ magic tricks! We’re already planning when we can come back, both as a family and with friends. I’d recommend to anyone reading this that hasn’t been making it a priority to go asap!

Really lovely family run restaurant, it felt very authentic. Such a welcoming team and a warm welcome, which is increasingly hard to come across in London these days! We only went for a selection of small plates which were all delicious. Will absolutely return.

Return visit after many years still as remembered very Accommodating service with a smile delicious freshly prepared food in hearty portions thoroughly enjoyed food and evening by all in our party We chose a mixture of starters to share with a special mention for the chicken livers which we all found delicious best I’ve had in many a year Suffice it to say main courses excellent not the cheapest of its type but absolute value for quality and service

Superior food and service. This restaurant is 5 stars plus! The shrimp appetizer, grilled swordfish steak special and Greek salad were all perfectly prepared and delicious! Such a great find in Camden that I asked for a reservation the next night as well.

Lovely place tucked behind the main high street , great food and a warm welcoming atmosphere,would recommend the meat moussaka .A nice , clean and happy place ,will be back soon !

Great evening meal while on a business trip! Only picked appetizers, most of them were good overall (the hummus was not as smooth as I expected / have had at some other establishments, so just something to be aware of, but still tasty). The lentil soup was incredible, as well as the service. Friendly and welcoming, couldn’t have been better. Would come back with friends!

Wonderful family run restaurant and amazingly good value especially with its lunchtime specials.

Usually the spaghetti with lobster was wonderful!!! and at an appropriate price… for a place like this. I went to dinner the other day with two friends and the food was terrible, the Vongola spaghetti was not al dente, it was hard and the clams seemed frozen, the price was overpriced. You are going to lose a lot of clients if you don't get your act together, at least I won't be coming back... if I can.

A gem around Camden. The food is delicious and portions are great too. The service is also spectacular, with a genuine attention to details. The price paid makes everything even better.

Cute little family restaurant. We had a set lunch for 14 quid which is a steal for what you get in obviously home made food. Nice! Would definitely eat here again

I love this place! An absolutely cracking moussaka and a fun list of greek/cypriot wines, plus really lovely and friendly waiters who'll chat you through the menu. A lovely place for a cold autumn/winter evening

Cosy, affordable, with very nice service. This little classic Greek taverna offers tasty food and a homey atmosphere. Sea bass was lovely, taramasalata and other dips freshly made. They even gave us an extra baklava piece as the group was 4 and the portion was 3. It is the little treats like this that make one feel welcome :)

Excellent food, exceptional service. You can really tell the heart and soul that goes into this place. Had a beautiful romantic evening with my wife and watched the staff entertain the kids. Would highly recommend this place to anyone, also if you do go please use the air lock correctly and close the door behind you.

A very cozy restaurant in London, the waiters are very friendly, it has a super homely atmosphere that is even reminiscent of a living room in a house. The food is 10/10, the lamb is especially delicious. It could be for a dinner with some friends or to go with your partner or family. If you are in London I recommend not skipping it.

Food was fantastic but the service and atmosphere was even better. My husband spotted the klefthiko after ordering something else and the owner swapped his order. The mezze was gorgeous and we had birthday baklava complete with candle

Lovely restaurant, gorgeous food.

A lovely intimate Greek restaurant. Where the waiter was so attentive. And suggested what wines to compliment our food, which was delicious from chicken liver starter. And our mains of baby spatcock chicken and Kleftiko Greek lamb with a side our vegetables 😋 Which was absolutely delicious. We're definitely coming back Oh yes! The waiter remembered that it was my friend's birthday and brought out a lemon polenta cake with a candle on top.

Visited Daphne after reading the great reviews and it absolutely did not disappoint. The service was impeccable, attentive but completely unintrusive. Staff were warm, friendly and welcoming. A great menu catering for a broad range of dietary requirements and the food was delicious with generous portions. Really exceeded my expectations and will definitely visit again.

You must go to this restaurant! Authentic Greek food with excellent service from Nico (has worked there for 23 years) and his younger counterpart who has grown up there. The food is simple, high quality and delicious. Great ambience and top class service. My husband and I went for dinner and then returned the next night with 2 friends for dinner again it was so good. A great selection of fish dishes. Thanks Nico and the Daphne restaurant family for a very memorable experience while we were in London xx

Booked late on a Friday afternoon for a meal for 4 at 1800, and we were very lucky to get a table. The restaurant is small, cosy and intimate. The service was warm and friendly, and the food was excellent. Every member of our party really enjoyed the meal.

Booked this restaurant after reading good reviews on TripAdvisor and we were not disappointed.   Despite being a small restaurant it felt very roomy and had a lot of character.  The waiter was really helpful.  My husband had the braised rabbit and I had the vegetarian moussaka both of which were gorgeous. Very reasonably priced for a three course meal, coffee and wine.

Some places you feel have no room for improvement as they are pretty good. Daphne is not the case. Our favorite restaurant that we didnt visit for some time. The food is much much better and the service warmer than ever. That place indeed feels a home away from home. Our favorites are: Octopus Spanakopita Tirokafteri Kouneli Mousaka Ravani And extra favourites Nikolas and Nikos Thank you 🙏

Daphne is not a large restaurant, but if you manage to get a table you will be delighted by the food and the service. Everything we tried was super tasty. Recommended.

Amazing restaurant in camden and in London!! One of the best restaurants I've been to in London. It's a must visit. The lamb and the rabbit are amazing and the roast potatoes are amazing. Staff are very nice and atmosphere is top as well.

Perfect restaurant!! The best "Kleftiko" we have ever eaten!! The service is perfect from every side!! The owner, moreover, served us immediately even though we had not booked a table!!

What a gem , 1st time visiting and will definitely visit again when in London . Myself and my son turned up without a reservation, but the we wasn't disappointed they managed to fit us in . The service was fabulous and the food was amazing , I will be talking about it for a very long time .

Excellent family run taverna serving authentic village style Greek food.

We have visited Daphne restaurant many times over the past thirty years. We have often had their delicious freshly-cooked meze but most recently had their great value, two-course lunch menu which was superb. The food is outstanding, the service is warm and welcoming. The quietly-played Cypriot music and old photos help to create a great ambiance. We were lucky to get a table as it is a small restaurant (many tables were already taken), so I would recommend booking. A short walk from Camden Town tube. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in London.

The best mousaka!! Tried mousaka in Greece and Cyprus and nothing comes close to Daphne’s also they are so friendly

Great family-run Greek Cypriot restaurant tucked away in the backstreets of Camden that's retained its charm in the face of a wave of gentrification. I grew up in NW London and Daphne and Tsiakkos & Charcoal in Maida Vale stand shoulders above any Greek chain imitators. Also loved taking my baby son along for the first time - I'm sure he'll be tasting his first taramasalata and moussaka on the next visit.

A gem in Camden. Fresh seafood and a lovely wine

We were going to Andy’s Taverna across the road, now it was Monday at 2pm so understandably it was quiet but it was completely empty and looked closed or at least the lights in the seating area were off so we came to Daphnes instead. It was full except for the table we got, great atmosphere with regulars by the sounds of it. The staff were very professional and friendly, we went with the course for 2 which I highly recommend if you want to try a bit of everything. The Nemea wine was also a great recommendation from our waiter, I think his name was Mykos. Very authentic Greek-Cypriot cuisine, definitely will visit again if we’re in the area, loved the wholesome family vibes inside.

WOW what a memorable meal. Was recommended by a Greek/Cypriot friend and i’m so glad we finally came here to try it. The team were so warm and friendly- Greek hospitality! And the food was absolutely divine, such fresh and tasty seafood. Standout dishes were Taramasalata, Feta dip, Octopus, Grilled Calamari, Meatballs and the potato side dish. I can’t wait to come here again!

The food here is incredibly tasty and the service is 11/10 - highly recommend! I’ve been here twice now and have been blown away by the hospitality and amazing food served at Daphne Restaurant. I had the lamb with the side of roasted potatoes (I can’t remember the actual name of the dish-sorry) and the lamb was very well seasoned and tender. The atmosphere here is very nice too, it’s an intimate restaurant perfect for a small family dinner and special occasions too. I can’t wait to come back!

Visited after the many fantastic reviews and wasn’t disappointed. I hadn’t booked but was on my own due to work. They managed to find me a table in the window despite being very busy on a Tuesday night. Waiters were attentive but not too pushy, food was delicious and price excellent. I started with the Skordalia, a garlic potato dip with perfectly cooked aubergine. I could have eaten that all evening. For main I went with Beef Stifado which was so tender and accompanied by perfectly cooked potato’s, crisp on the outside and soft all the way through. I can’t recall the name of the Greek red wine I had but it was AOC and a brilliant match. I wish I had space for dessert but sadly not. Amazing food, really nice staff and a wonderful atmosphere.

Going there for years , authentic Greek Cypriot cuisine, even black eyed beans it is on the menu. Meze it is always the best choice if you haven't eaten for 2 days, but my favourite fried calf's liver

Omg, a Greek restaurant with real Greeks! Not white, ginger-beard hipsters! Hurray! The staff were fantastic, really friendly and accommodating and made sure to keep the door closed when customers would annoyingly not close it properly! We were greeted with a plate of delicious black olives, we ordered a bottle of house red wine (very yummy) and tap water for our group of 3. I ordered a starter of feta cheese, olive oil and chilli but sorry to say it wasn't quite spicy enough for me but I shouldn't expect Malaysian-level spice to be honest. It was yummy and went well with the toasted bread provided by the restaurant. I had the Moussaka, which came with cheese, not sure why, but it was delicious, the spices really made it, lots of cinnamon and nutmeg, so hearty in this horrible cold weather outside. Lovely crisp bits too, which are my favourite. The picture of the round plate is the Moussaka, my mum had the Kleftiko (lamb), also very yummy, and my dad had Rabbit stew, just the right amount of gaminess flavour, amazingly rich! As I said, the service was great, the waiter had a wonderful authentic Greek accent, very holistic and personal in his care, taking our jackets and storing them for us, as well as my walking aid. Lots of personality and charm. I only have 4 stars because the people behind us were loud but it's fine, it was cosy and I have no complaints.

I am Cypriot and have been to many Cypriot restaurants, I can say, this is the best! Had octopus, sheftalia, loukanika and Zucchini for sides and as mains we had kleftiko, moussaka and Sea Bass. All the dishes were amazing! Lovely ambiance, great service and sensational food!

Get the papas fritas and the burratta! Amazing!

The food is great value, the set lunch is a fantastic bargain. I would recommend the taramasalata and sea bass with potatoes. The service is so friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is relaxed, no sense of being hurried. I will be back.
