Chamisse in Camden

Had a super authentic meal here for the five of us. We really appreciated the waiter taking a few moments to understand who we are and what we're looking for, and then voluteered to create an authentic Palestinian family meal for us, including catering to our special requirements. Then during the next couple of hours we were well looked after, having a special family time and enjoying sharing great food together. The food was great and the service was attentive but never obtrusive. Happy to recommend.

I have never eaten here but someone is trying to buy my review. I would not trust the score of this restaurant at all.

Took my missus for our anniversary lunch having seen positive reviews. This is situated on the Grays Inn Road just over a 10 minute walk from Holborn station. Its an intimate little place ideal for a romantic meal or a family gathering. Lebanese food is what you will get here. Ordered the spicy potatoes (excellent) and fatoush salad (very good). Decided to share the main course the Chamisse Mixed Grill which was a mix of chicken and lamb pieces all with a serving of rice. This was good ive had better but more than ok. The fresh lemonade was a bit too tangy and not sugary enough for my liking. Service very good our food came quickly and cost more than reasonable and some nice complimentary baklava. Overall an enjoyable place to eat

I go out with my daughters each Saturday to find interesting places to have lunch. Chamisse surprised us positive in having amazing humus. And then have nice tender meat in the mix grill. Just highlighting our day.

Incredible, authentic Lebanese food

Positives: Friendly service. Negatives: The food was very, very bland which was disappointing, we didn’t enjoy it at all. Inside was cold, I don’t know why they don’t increase the heating. Atmosphere…which,of course,is not restaurants fault…They cannot do anything about extremely loud guests- there was a group of people(4 adults and a child) who behaved like they were the only ones there, the level of noise in such a small place was unbearable, them shouting+ loud music made it impossible to have a conversation. Sadly we are not going back.

Solid 5 ⭐️. My reviews are mostly Lebanese and this place ranks in my top 3 in London. Food is fresh, flavour clean. No pomegranate molasses in the salad, just spices, lemon and olive oil. The space is quite big at the back. Had: Mixed grill with salad #5 (aubergine, peppers etc… delicious!) Babaganoush Mint tea Lebanese coffee (proper one) This was enough for two. Great flatbreads (with zatar- complimentary) and garlic and chilli sauce 👌 £50 in total. Oh the manager? Owner? V patient and so lovely.

Such a great service and amazing staff who welcome you to the restaurant… as a Lebanese I can confirm this is the best food especially the diverse variety of savoury pastries and delicious meals. As I said before, the staff were honestly so kind. For people who are gluten free and vegetarian, there are many dishes which are delicious… definitely will come again !!

A really good evening dining at this restaurant as part of a group of five. Everyone really enjoyed the evening and commented on the warm relaxing ambience in the restaurant. All the waiting staff were friendly and engaging in their interactions with us without being overbearing. Everyone enjoyed their meal choices. The spinach in pastry jackets - I can't remember the name - as a starter was delightful, as was the Sojok (spicy sausage in a tomato sauce). The stuffed vine leaves also went down very well, delivering a zesty and enlivening start to the meal, For a main course, if you like meat, the Chamisse Mixed Grill with salad is pure joy: all the meats were tender and tasty. Our lone vegetarian had an aubergine-based main which was devoured. It was a great pleasure to be in a restaurant where we were not being rushed through our meal and allowed our group to enjoy our annual get together. The toilet facilities were clean and well presented. They are down a flight of stairs, so that should be borne in mind if any member of your party has difficulty with stairs. However, the staircase is reasonably wide and not too steep. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

We were already in the area, restaurant suggested to us by another app. Very good and tasty hummus, the Moussakaat (lamb, aubergine and rice dish) excellent, and the sweet Baklawa (made with honey and dried fruit) is also very good. Super recommended. Well done!

Great food and service. The grill was delicious.

A top notch Lebanese restaurant that I’ve waited too long to try. It serves classic Lebanese dishes with a perfected recipe. Really enjoyed the classic and warm mezzes but my personal favourite was the aubergine stew with rice. Now normally I wouldn’t take a dessert at a restaurant but here id strongly recommend it. Pair it with a Lebanese lager or a mint tea.

My family and I decided to visit here after seeing so many good Tripadvisor reviews. The food here was very nice and were big portions considering the price. The food also came pretty quickly. The staff were nice and attentive. The location isn’t the most convenient but I’d definitely return here.

Beautiful dinner had by wife and I. Despite being early on a sat we was greeted with warm smiles and shown to our table. Service was just the right balance of attentive but not intrusive. Food was so fresh, lamb kofte being a particular favourite. Only one beer as mentioned but surprisingly good. And the highlight was baklava. Oh my please do try this when visiting, absolutely heavenly. Great evening and amazing service

I've been coming here for years with my friends and it's never disappointed. The food is simple and delicious, love their hummus and chicken platter. Service is also great as is waiting time. Make sure you book if you go around Xmas time.

Very good lebanese restaurant. My boyfriend and I came here for our anniversary and we certainly did not regret it. The food was delicious and the service was also very good. Our server was very kind and helpful. We ordered multiple dishes. I had the lentil soup and he had the chicken soup and they were really good. Zaatar and cheese pitas were also very tasty. We had some eggplant salad and hummus spread. The only things we didnt like is that the food was a bit too oily for our taste, but the food was so good that we couldnt complain. We also received a lot of food for the amount paid (i think around 70£)

Excellent quality food. Lebanese food prepared with extra care. The Kofta KhashKhash can definitely be recommended. A filling portion. All the flavours and spices are definitely on point. Attended Chamisse this evening for my surprise birthday dinner. The food was plentiful and extremely tasty. The service was impeccable. We were treated like VIPs. To top the evening off, given baklava with a candle, as well as sung happy birthday too. Fabulous evening. A definite 5 stars.

I went to this place with my friends to have dinner. baba ghanoush - 2/5 hummus beet root - 1/5, thyme Kellaj - 1/5 - too much thyme Kellaj - 2/5 Mix grill - 2/5 - kebabs were too hard Shush tauk - 3/5 - but not worth the price Farruj meshwi - 1/5 Deserts - ordered baklawa and I would give it 2/5 Ambience - wasn’t that great . Overall - not worth the money. There are better places to go in london for this cuisine.

By far the best Lebanese restaurant in the city and one of the finest restaurant overall. Service is great, give the Lebanese beer a try, you’ll thank me later I promise. Authentic and amazing Lebanese food. The service was quick and the staff was very thoughtful. We had two hungry kids and they brought our food quickly. Highly recommend the tabbouleh and the grilled meat platter but truly every dish was delicious! Would recommend to anyone in or visiting London who is missing home cooked Lebanese food!!

I’m Lebanese-Armenian from Los Angeles and decided to have dinner here on my last night in London. It was delicious. Excellent service. The food was great. A few dishes were of Armenian-Lebanese style which made me proud of the owners for their open palate. I would highly recommend this restaurant to others. And don’t forget to have a glass (or two) of Arak! Don’t worry about the 50% abv. It’s a perfect addition to your meal. Sakhtan!

I really like this little gem on Grays Inn. Holborn area can sometimes feel like a void of independent restaurants and this reinstates some charm. Came with some friends for a great sharing meal, all was fab and went down a treat. The wait staff were friendly and attentive - really couldn’t ask for more.

I've been around 5 times in the last year, I'm Lebanese Armenian been away from Lebanon since 2006, when people in London ask me where to go, this is the place. Especially the mashawi / grilled meats, mfassakh (eggplant puree), kellaj, moussaqaa (eggplant and tomate sauce and chickpeas), fattoush.

Very friendly team, great service. We got mixed trio to start because we couldn't decide as everything sounded delicious. I had the lamb meshwi and it was fantastic, perfectly cooked. My friend had the moussaka and she said it was the best she's ever had.

Wow! Some of the best Lebanese food we’ve ever had. The staff are so friendly, you can tell they are passionate about their craft. The restaurant, itself, is very inviting and quiet. The hommos is so smooth and flavorful, the falafel was perfectly cooked, and the lentil soup and tabouleh were delicious, as well. My daughter is gluten-free, and was delighted to find all of these items, along with pita, all GF! I think we will be back tomorrow for lunch!

Fantastic atmosphere, cosy, homely, exceptional service and the food is as authentic as they come! This is a true gem in London, bringing the best of Lebanese cuisine in non-pompous generous hospitality fashion. Being Lebanese, it has been a while since I've eaten out for Lebanese food as I normally cook at home, I am a semi-professional chef and my wife is a superstar Chef for Michelin starred places. While travelling for work I went out for dinner with my German colleague who had never tried Lebanese food and he immediately fell in love with the flavours. Go to dishes: Batata Harra (Spicy Potatoes), Chicken Wings, Hommos Soujok.. if you like a little spicey!

Delicious with great service. Food was really good, decor nice, service good. Also the restaurant opened a bit early to accommodate us needing to go to airport ( they opened for takeout earlier than in person).

One of the best restaurants I've been to. Went here for a birthday, the food was brilliant and the service was good. What really set then apart was the dessert they brought out for us at the end as we were celebrating a birthday. If I could recommend one thing I would definitely say to get a lamb dish. The lamb we had was absolutely unbelievable, I'd probably say the best I've had! A man who I believe was the owner but might have been the manager came over and wished my friend a happy birthday which was really nice of him. Would definitely recommend!
