Best fish and chip ! Been feeding me for over 30 years in this spot and Danny's old fish bar.

I genuinely think it's the best fish and chips by a long shot. I have tried a few around the area, and nothing compares to these guys. Really good fish and chips. 🙏

Exceptional quality cod and chips (fresh and not greasy). Generous size portions (regular size photographed). Reasonably priced (£10.50 for the regular cod and chips). Very kind and quick service. Would highly recommend and will return.

Absolutley incredible. Best fish and chips I’ve ever had. I’m so grateful we met Patrick, the manager, on the street and were told about this place. The Irish curry is a must get. If you don’t get a cream soda and battered mars bar you are making a HUGE mistake! This place is worth going out of your way to go to.

Honestly Third time I’ve tried this place. Fish was bad,batter nearly black Chips not fresh. Oil needs to be changed more,would vastly improve things. I am sorry I don’t get all these rave reviews.

I don't normally give out a 5 star review but I can't fault them at all. I ordered a chicken burger with lettuce and mayo. And small chip and peas. Both were exceptionally good. If I were to pick anything and I do mean that I found it extremely difficult to pick. The bun although tasted fresh seamed it could have been cooked the same day for it to be a perfect 10 out of 10. But as it was still fresh it still got 5 stars. I just wish I'd been here sooner.

Disappointed. I’ve just bought two medium cods and chips for lunch with my sister. Fish was small and dry. I have a feeling it was defrosted. Had much better experience a couple of years ago. Won’t be buying again.

Great hospitality and food was 10/10

The wife and I done our poppy appeal outside his shop. The whole team looked after us with tea, coffee and food. The whole experience was amazing from the team , we would like to thank you for your thoughtfulness and amazing food ( I didn't enjoy your battered sprouts) my wife did . Freshly cooked exceptional fish! Lovely chips, huge portions, one large chips was more than enough for 3 people to share. Fish was good size and really delicious, not at all greasy like some fish shops, you could tell the oil was clean that everything was cooked in. Very friendly staff, the wait was quite long but for freshly cooked fish it's expected and it was worth it!

I never leave reviews but feel like I needed too from start to finish was great restaurant was clean, all the staff was SUPER friendly, actually took the time too ask about my daughters coeliac disease which was really nice and we could see all the stuff used to pick the food was all labeled to know the difference so no cross contamination. The food wow really really good chips was amazing the fish my wife really loved amd so did my daughter even the homemade curry sauce is amazing. I will telling be telling everyone about how brilliant the staff were and most certainly about how good the food is even none coeliacs.

It is always service with a smile, not matter how busy they are. On a Friday and Saturday queues are out the door. Father Danny, and Son Anil are both welcoming. Pat and Joe, make up the core, with others helping out. This is one of the pillars of the Old Coulsdon Community, and the best Chippy around.

Friendly staff, good fish. We skip two other fish and chip shops on the way because we think the fish here are better prepared.

I travelled from Streatham in order to explore the village of Old Coulsdon which I have driven though many times.I came across Danny’s Fish and Chip shop by chance and decided to see what it was like.Danny greeted me when I arrived and was most pleasant.I must say that the fish and chips was some of the finest that I have ever tasted and at a very reasonable price and a large portion. If I am ever in the area again I shall pop in again.I can highly recommend this place,

Get yourself to Danny's in Old Coulsdon, then you'll find out what you've been missing. I've never tasted batter like it before I discovered Danny's. And I've been to some of the best fish and chip shops around. The batter is not only scrumptious but, nice and crispy. The chips are to die for and leave you wanting more. Also taste the cod roe, Danny's roe with his batter, its out of this world. The portions are very generous too. So get yourself to Danny's Old Coulsdon. You won't be sorry. Just moved to the area and needed to find a new chippy, job done! Nice light batter, tasty chips and nice curry sauce with a bit of zing. Danny came over to chat, the rest of the crew were all really friendly. Worth a try if you haven't been yet.

Sorry to say we didn’t enjoy the food it was over cooked and you could taste the old oil . I think they cater for the college kids as there a big college around the corner. Sorry to say I won’t go back .

We always use Danny’s on a regular basis to buy fish and chips , not sure what happened last night last , ordered 2 large cod , seriously the fish was so thin , there was barely any to eat ! Very disappointed , as was still hungry , they seem to give more chips than usual , was this to compensate ? Sorry Danny’s on this occasion you let yourselves down and your customers .Hopefully was a one off , if not will have to look for an alternative sadly .

One of the best traditional style fish & chips in the UK! Danny’s is fast, friendly and extremely tasty. The menu is excellent, with a range that includes not only a few types of fish, but burgers, kids meals and even gluten free! The kitchen is spotlessly clean, as is the the eating area (there are 3/4 tables for customers). The staff are extremely friendly and quick to prepare the order - they work like a team and it really shows! Despite ordering at a very busy time (7PM Friday night), food is turned around in less than 10 mins. All in all, if you’re in the area and looking for some fish & chips - this is the place to get them.

A few miles from home but worth the trip. Tasty fish, light batter, chips on point. Happy to recommend.
