What a surprise!! This place is amazing!! The waiter was fantastic, he went out of his way to make our evening an enjoyable one. The food was just perfect! I can't fault this place.

Staying just around the corner at the premier inn meant that the Dylan was one of many restaurants within easy walking distance, visited on the Friday evening, surprisingly quiet (busier as we passed Saturday) with only 2 diners until the 3 of us entered, staff were very attentive, found the food really tasty, and price wise (£60 for 3 of us, starter, main and drinks) was good value, wouldn't hesitate to visit again.

We visited again without booking. Got a table and was served very well. The food is as good as you can get not in Turkey with plenty of traditional touches. The fruit at the end is always a great touch. We will be back.

I've been working near Newmarket for a few months and have walked past this place a few times on my way to other places.I decided to try Dalyan out last Thursday so walked in and the place was empty... I should probably have taken the hint!I was seated in the corner and the menu arrived after a few minutes.... gosh, so much to choose from, all sounding yummy!I chose the set meal, £22.95. The place then filled up with smoke as the charcoals were fired up. Set Menu is mixed starters, mixed kebab, baklava, fruit, tea or coffee.Out came a plate with Houmous, Taramasalata, Babaganoush, all not bad, and enough pitta.2nd course was the mixed grill which arrived a bit later, not the worst I've tasted but nothing to right home about. But at least there was enough off it.Then out came the waiter (owner?) who said "You want Baklava" - I said yes as it was part of the Set Menu..The plate came with a small squirt of sweet foamy cream and 4 small-ish pieces of Baklava.Mine Host didn't make any moves to over me fruit or coffee so I asked to pay.I went to the counter where he "added up" the Set Menu and told me £27.. I queried why it was £27 when the set meal was £22.95. I was told this was because I had Baklava, so I told him Baklava was on the set menu and was told "yes, but set menu is only one piece of Baklava, you had four".Eventually, after some discussion he said "ok give me £25". I couldn't be bothered to argue! In summary...... don't bother, not terribly authentic and a bit bland!

I can't believe the food at Dalyan, just dry , no taste the salad was just carrots, cucumbers and lettuce NO grilled vegetable added as stated on the menu, rice was dry and tasteless. I had the kofte left on my plate, another had the shashlik kebab just bland and dry and the sea bream was just awful all left , We were asked why we hadn't eaten explained no bother to them just wanted us to pay our bill! We expected more from them even take money of the bill! Just awful waste of time and money. Very disappointed. Never will be going again !!

Despite booking 6 months in advance and confirming a few days before, when we arrived they hadn't a clue who we were. As a large group of 14 you expect slow service and actually the food and drinks came out quite quickly. What was less impressive was the surly manners of the staff who bordered on rude followed by an unexpected and unwanted performance by a female belly dancer. She was inappropriate with guests and frankly a huge embarrassment. After 15 minutes we asked for the horribly loud music to be turned down. No one in our party was able to talk above the music and it was all so out of place at this market town eatery. So, grumpy service followed by jiggling bits and pieces in your kebab does not make for a good experience. We won't be returning anytime soon.

The carrots and other veg obviously microwaved to death, overwhelming sound of faulty aircon unit, dismissive staff, didn't bring out courses at the right time, fish tank was noisy, no music, no atmosphere, terrible food, duff presentation, and sticky mystery substance on toilet seat, other than that, it was a great meal.....

We came in early on a Friday after a friend suggesting we try it here.We were sat down and had menus given to us straight away with drinks order taken. The waitress was very smiley and polite. We ordered and a few minutes later our starter came. 3 had the Turkish sausage which although delicious, just came with chopped lettuce and no sort of dressing/sauce. My partner had the calamari and this was very average indeed, brake brothers type stuff. The main course came shortly after. My friend had the moussaka which she said was really delicious and hot.My partner had the chicken and vegetable Shoah and was no better than the average kebab from a high street shop.Myself and three others had the mixed kebab. Tasty but luke warm at best and on a cold plate.Shame as we expected so much more.

Thankfully I ignored the previous comments and came for dinner. It has feel of a genuine Turkish restaurant, the owner gave us a warm welcome and made us feel completely at home. We both ordered sautéed liver starter which was accompanied with the best bread I eaten this side of the Bosphorus. A bubbling lamb casserole and mixed kebab followed, both of which were delicious, well done Dalyan meze bar, we'll be backNote to future diners, this is not a beige chain restaurant, don't expect obsequious service, but genuine Turkish style family restaurant

We visited this restaurant with friends. It was a costly and disappointing experience. The place was dead! The service was somewhat rushed given there were no other people! Portions were small and meat definitely reheated to the point of overlooked. On the window the restaurant advertised a Belly Dancer between 8pm and 9pm. This never happened. Apparently, when you are making your reservation you must request the dancer?? How would you know prior??This does not emulate a true Turkish restaurant in any way. I was lucky enough to be in Turkey last year and ate at many restaurants...... they were all fantastic. Maybe, we went to this restaurant in Newmarket on an "off day".

Called to reserve for a dinner with friends who were moving away. We were seated promptly - there were not many customers, and we almost felt like so had th restaurant to ourselves at first. The waitress was lovely, the menu explained each dish, but she patiently answered more questions about our options. Each of us had something different - the men both had lamb, and I had a chicken dish that I cannot remember the name of, but it was quite delicious, and served with a generous portion of rice. We wanted wine, and the waitress brought us several bottles to taste until the final bottle was settled on. We declined dessert, but the waitress brought us a platter of tiny cakes, with some sliced persimmons! There were delicious, and the owner (we assumed) came by to explain what fruit it was, as we were unsure. I can only say the waitress and owner were both wonderful! Would definitely return.

Since it changed hands and became Dalyan instead of Turkuaz, the food has been very inconsistent. Since the original chef left, there have been a lot of different chefs and the food has ranged from quite poor to reasonably good.I'm very pleased to say our most recent meal was excellent - the best we have had for a long time. Aubergine sauté was cooke rust right and well spiced with good hot pitta bread (enough for two). The lamb chops were a generous helping, cooked as requested and very tasty. Rice, salad and veg garnish was quite good and the dips were enjoyable. Service was good.We hope this chef will stay for a long time!

Totally disappointed with this restaurant! Poor service and rather over priced for what you get. With our starters we was given little bread to share between 5 people, after requesting for more we was then charged an additional £3 for 1 piece of pita bread! If you visit any traditional or high quality Turkish this should be complimentary or a good amount at least otherwise there is no point serving this.I was shocked at the quality of the meat that was served to us, it was extremely dry and by the looks of this it was old meat and then reheated for us. This restaurant has dropped its standards and quality since last year and we will not be returning!I would strongly advise not to waste your money here and look for a better Turkish who are more generous and serve better quality of food not leftovers.

Visited yesterday lunchtime and was very disappointed. I only wanted a light meal so chose the salmon salad. The waitress seemed unfamiliar with the menu, and had to be shown the entries for both meals ordered. I was impressed by the size of the salmon filet when it arrived, but quickly discovered that it was raw on the inside, and it had to go back to the kitchen. When it returned, the salmon had been broke into pieces. The salad was unimaginative: shredded lettuce, grated carrot, chopped tomato & cucumber, jumbled in a heap with the salmon on top. It tasted ok, but I could have done better at home. We shared dried figs stuffed with walnuts and served with mascarpone for desert, which were quite nice.I visited the ladies' toilet before leaving, and quite frankly wished I hadn't. Without going into too much detail, it was immediately apparent that the last visitor hadn't flushed...

We found this place after realising Turkuaz was not on the high street anymore. Tucked away down a little lane means a lot of people might miss this lovely place which is a shame because it was really nice. Quite quiet for a Friday night ( but it is January ) but from the moment we walked in until the moment we left the restaurant the service was really lovely. We were made to feel very welcome. It's a good menu with some great authentic original dishes. We had the Halloumi as a starter which was served with warmed pitta bread and it was lovely and tasty. I had a mixed kebab for my main which had many different well cooked meats served with rice and salad. The Mrs had chicken shish kebab which was equally nice. We ordered a portion of chips and although they were obviously home cut and home cooked, they weren't overly tasty, maybe some kind of seasoning would help a little. But that didn't tarnish the meal in any way. We had a lovely evening and will definitely return again. Thank you very much Dalyan!

We decided to go to this restaurant after searching TA for local restaurants and we haven't tried Newmarket. We were not disappointed. TA is all about opinion and at that time but we did not experience any problems with loud or nauseating Turkish music or anybody standing over us. We were warmly welcomed at the door and seated. We were given plenty of time to choose both our food and drinks/wine. My wife had filo pastry with feta cheese Borek and I had mussels Midya Tava. This is where we identified an improvement as my wife's starter was served some minutes before my own and I advised her to eat it otherwise it would go cold. My mussels turned up cooked over the Turkish coals in a v light batter. The mussels were v good and whilst the filo pastry was good there as not sufficient feta cheese inside. We then moved onto main course and my wife had Ali Nazik chicken and aubergine and I had Incik - Lamb Shank. They were both excellently cooked and presented and very tasty. The only think they could do to improve would be more herbs on the Incik and less tomato but it was still v good. I finished with the usual Baklava. All in all and very enjoyable visit and very well priced. There is nothing like this in Bury St Edmunds so we will be back for certain

I visited Dalyan recently with friends for a dinner. Restaurant seems to be well nice and has a perfect turkish feel. We were served by a pretty young lady which was very helpful, friendly and served our dishes quick. Food overall is tasty and fresh. The only bad point was the manager/owner? who was a bit annoying, the guy stood almost behind our back when we were eating and we found him a bit too "pushy" with offering a sides and desserts...Overall, good place to visit with great authentic turkish cuisine!

My hubby and I dined here a few weeks ago, it was a pleasant experience but not the best Turkish cuisine we have ever tasted. The starter platter was good, the calamari starter was terrible - we should have sent it back but didn't. The two main plates were very nice. I would go here again but it wouldn't be my first choice. The restaurant was also advertising a belly dancer the night we dined in, we were looking forward to this but sadly the belly dancer never showed which was disappointing. The restaurant should probably have taken the sign on the door down rather than lead people to think the show was going to happen.

We opted to go to Dalyan as myself and partner visited for valentines day and loved the food. I cannot express what a wonderful experience they made our evening thereby making my mum's big birthday truly one to remember. There was 9 of us and two toddlers in total which included a mixture of fussy eaters, vegetarians and some very hungry carnivores! Everyone's meal was exceptional and the staff were amazing! The food was amazing (or 'banging' as our grandson said 😄). We were bowling after lunch, which was a bit delayed, but we were kept informed which was fine. Lots of fun bowling too. Well done Mr G's we all had a fantastic time 👏.
