Went for the Sunday lunch, can't praise it enough, food, service and seating excellent.

Had an amazing fresh veg,proper carved meats cavery, and the gravy was amazing, and lovely cheese sauce 😋

No airs or graces just a slap up Sunday lunch excellent value for money and a welcoming lovely staff.

Never had a bad cavery yet from dale tavern we go more or less everyweek, staff are polite apart from 1 lady on the cavery section she's a little abrupt but apart from that definitely recommend

The staff are lovely and friendly just a shame about the landlady attitude I can't comment on the food as the buffet was an external one on this occasion, although having had a buffet in house previously I was extremely disappointed with what was on offer for the amount paid.

Found this establishment thru word of mouth quite a few months ago, and been coming ever since. Outstanding Sunday Carvery, one of the best. and advisable to book. Its a free house run by Donna & Jed, who are very welcoming and friendly, and so are the staff. They do a similar Carvery on Wednesdays and Fridays and its cheep, around a tenner for a Carvery Meal and a pint. You don't have to book just turn up between 12.00 and 2.00 on a Wednesday or Friday. The customers are mostly pensioners (we are) but I have seen family's and younger people there, but I think they have to pay a little bit more. And after your meal you can sit (weather permitting) in a pleasant pub garden. Try this place out, and I guarantee you will come again and again, as we do. Chris and Mags

First time here, we went for my mum's 80th birthday party, nice buffet and reasonably priced drinks.

Went to the Wednesday lunchtime carvery. The food is excellent and very reaonably priced. Tge pub itself has seen better days but well worth a visit.

First visit to the Dale Tavern. First impression from the outside was that it looked a little tired and in need of a bit of paint. Plenty of parking space but the surface is a little uneven. Inside was lovely, decorated to a very good standard, clean and very tidy. Sadly we hadn't booked in to eat so cannot comment on food but it looked and smelled delicious. No craft ale so was left with a pint of Smiths, I can't remember seeing another bitter on offer but there may have been. Plenty of lagers to choose from though. Staff were pleasant enough, though being a new face I felt I could've had a warmer welcome. All in all a very well presented warm and nice place. We will definitely be returning only Next time we'll be booked in.

Felt sorry for the Bride and Groom rather embarrassing for them the issue with the Buffet was unacceptable. The Staff were friendly but the building could do with a bit of modernisation.

Been to a wedding in the function room, it's a nice size, large dance floor, plus they've got Sam smiths beer on tap and quite a few gins, pity I was driving so I stuck to soft drinks

Wow, what a Sunday lunch! 😍 Drive through, due to lockdown and it worked flawlessly, you don't even have to leave your car, it ran like clockwork. We drove up and were given a ticklist for what we wanted to eat, filled it out, it was collected straight away, then payment taken (cash or card), a few minutes later we were driving off with 2 roast beef dinner's, incredible. They were very well packaged and insulated with kitchen foil, served on a paper plate with gravy in a separate pot to take home. Ours was still piping hot when we got it home and it was absolutely delicious, tender beef and all vegetables cooked perfectly and large portions. It was perfect, we will be going every week, I can highly recommend 'The Dale Tavern'. 😊

Go regular, diners are always gorgeous. We booked for 20 of us for a birthday, when we got there we were all on different tables, we pre booked so we could all sit together. We were asked if we were leaving as the tables were booked for another party so had to cut birthday cake as quick as we could to give up our tables. The next party arrived and was given tables not even near each other so for having a few of us my review is based on them not being organised.

Was at a wedding on 12th may Owner gave wrong times to allow us in to set up only allowing 45 mins before guest arriving and was aggressive when asked why.... Paid 150 for a dj who was utterly rubbish... Owner/landlady was very rude and aggressive when trying to sort any issues I wouldnt be using them again

Just been for cavery, not sure whats happened today as usually very good. No mash, 20 minute wait, sat waited patiently and listening to quite a few others complaining, also hardly any veg and scraping bottom of onion gravy tin. Very dissapointed, not ur usual standards. Lady carving meat was really embarrased about the wait from staff in back
