Food is average. And didn't enjoy it to be fair. The pillow rice was cold. The lamb karabi was good, and we finished this. Lamb kebab was tasteless and we left it. The staff are nice.

A lovely traditional Afghan restaurant, with warm environment and amazing music played. It tells about what real Afghanistan is. A humble girl called Zinat was serving all customers nicely, and with her positive vibes and attitude, surely customers will come again to the place. By the way, her name is similar to an antibiotic called Zinnat, so she is the treatment of the place 🤓

We have been coming to Da Village for our special occasions. The food is amazing and good prices. The people are wonderful and Zinat especially is very friendly and supportive. We love them and always come because we know we will always have amazing experience.

Excellent lunch today in this Afghan restaurant on Reading’s Oxford Road. Lovely grilled lamb with naan, nicely spiced chicken namak mandahi, and Afghan aubergine dishes, served with dips and salad. Yogurt and mango lassi to drink. Service was polite and efficient this Tuesday lunchtime. Toilet facilities were clean. Good price (£40 for two). Will definitely return. Food was delicious!

Amazing dinner at Da Village. It smells delicious when you walk in, and the food more than lives up to the appetising aroma. Tender lamb shank, fluffy rice, silky, fragrant aubergine. Perfect. Also, warm, syrupy baklava. Heaven. Lovely staff and graat value for money made it even better. Will defo go back.

Recommend traditional Afghani food. Fresh, tasty and served with a smile . We didn’t wait one, the atmosphere for a Saturday was nice , not busy or overrun. The food was tasty, large servings and freshly made with authentic spices . Clean tables and nice decor to suit, access to toilets and a wash basin next to the til to wash your hands . I’d definitely visit again. I’m impressed. We served by a lovely African waitress who ensured we were catered for.

Definitely one to avoid, extremely shady business practices. While ordering the waitress deliberately misled us into ordering more food than needed. I asked how big the kabuli pilao portion is and was told it was just enough for 1 person. So we ordered 2 portions and couldn't finish it all between 5 people. We also ordered 4 chapli kebab which the same waitress listed as 4 individual kebabs (£26) rather than 2 lots of 2 kebabs (£24). When I asked about this, she became argumentative and said that I asked for 4 chapli kebab when I should have asked for 2 lots of 2 portion chapli kebab. I asked for a jug of tap water and was given a 1.5l bottle and charged £3.50 for it. We asked for containers to take the extra food home and was charged 50p for each plastic container. The food itself was nothing special. Both the chicken and lamb curries lacked flavour, could only taste salt. Chapli kebab was under seasoned. Kabuli pilao wasn't bad but the meat was slightly dry. Other than that, the women's bathroom lock is broken and locked my sister in. I had to open it from the outside. I hate to leave negative reviews as I run businesses myself, but they deliberately mislead customers and overcharge.

This restaurant is actually cool and I found it really encouraging.I encourage everyone to go there. The foods are also sumptuous and delicious.

Food taste was not of great quality this time. Not as good as last time so lack consistency in quality. Also food was not hot enough and got cold quickly. Atmosphere isn't good. Programs shown on their screen are not appropriate if you got kids with you. Food is halal but what's hown on screen isn't .

We ordered: chicken karahi , nice tasty but very spicy Chicken baryani, standard not great taste Kabuli pulaowith shank , again tasty but not very flavourful, the meat was however tender and flavorful We ordered lamb and chicken sheesh and honestly was not impressed with flavour, it wasn't seasoned well. We had it with standard naan. Few salads and condiment bowl was also part of the food. Service 3 stars because they gave us limited boxes to pack our leftovers ourselves and despite of not being busy they were not courteous enough to offer some plates and cutlery to us to cut a self bought birthday cake, we had to pay for using this extra cutlery and plates and knife.

Food was awful, very oily, aubergine and lamb Karachi both tasted the same. Lamb Karachi was bones without meat soaked in masala and hardly any aubergine in the dish all masala. Poor service. Girl serving the food was rude and disrespectful. Came out unhappy and will not go to this place again.

We were disappointed this evening by both the food and service. No meat on the bones karahi and hardly any aubergine but plenty of masala. Rude staff who were defensive and not bothered by what was said... Eating out is a treat and we are more than capable of cooking - so feeling disappointed.

I dined at this wonderful Afghan restaurant today, on the recommendation of an Afghan friend and I must say it was a delightful experience. The Chapli Kebab was a highlight, with its perfectly spiced ground meat and herbs, cooked to perfection. The flavors were authentic and left me craving for more. The Kabuli Pulao was a fragrant masterpiece. Tender pieces of meat, flavorful rice, and a medley of aromatic spices came together in a mouthwatering symphony. The Afghan Biryani was another winner, with its unique blend of flavors and spices that set it apart from other biryanis I've tried. What's even better is that all this deliciousness came within my budget. I was pleasantly surprised by the reasonable prices for such high-quality food. I’d like to thank Zinat, who looked after us. She was very welcoming and friendly. To top it up she helped us choosing the dishes. The restaurant not only satisfied my taste buds but also provided a glimpse into Afghan culinary traditions. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to savor authentic Afghan cuisine.

I just went there with my family last weekend, amazing food,nice and peacefull environment,ideal for a dine out with the kids,the waitresses really nice and attentive. Highly recommended restaurant,surely will be back soon

Delicious food, different varieties but the portions is slight less than usual.

I have ordered 2 large meals ,one of them with rice and one with naan bread , i payed around 25 pounds ,when asked for salad which is included with each meal i have been told in a rude way one should be enough .Adding to that the lamb tikka was extremly hard i couldn’t even bite in to it .Never coming back for sure

If you want quality, traditionallly cooked and lovingly prepared Afghani cuisine, then dodge a bullet and head into Slough. Words fail to describe the abomination that was served here. The mixed grill must have been cooked with intensity of a 1000 suns. As I stared into it, it stared back — black, soulless and full of hatred. I understood its pain. The lamb shank (served with the Kabuli Pilau) was more rubber than meat. I could have replaced one of the tyres on my car, with it. Having said that, the tyre would have probably tasted better. The Afghani naan was older than the dithering secretary at my local GP. The soft drinks were served lukewarm — maybe a fallout from the close proximity of the 1000 suns. Save your money and your dignity — choose a place in Slough or Southall.

Food was well packed, delicious and warm. The Afghani naan was really good, even cold the next day was really nice and easy to eat. We had dhal, lamb namak mandahi and Kabuki pilow rice. The salad was very well presented and refreshing. It was all really good.

The curries and nan breads are amazing, the long kebabs are delicious, best hummus I've had. Friendly staff.

It's good. I just thought I would give it a try, and I was not disappointed. Big family oriented menu with some masive set meals.

Is the first time I have visited this restaurant. On our arrival were pleasantly welcomed. Ordered our food and arrived after about 20 minutes. The food was piping hot and presentation was good. All items were freshly void. The meat was cooked to perfection and we had Chapli kebab, these were the best I've tasted for many years. All in all I enjoyed my evening with my son. The restaurant is very clean and the interior is also very good. However, there is no heating in the restaurant. They use portable spot heaters which of little use. So you have to eat with your jacket on. One thing that really displeased me is that if you have any food left over and wanted a container to take the food away, they will charge you for the containers. For this reason, I will never return to this restaurant. We pay nearly £50 for the two of us and have to pay extra for food container, its ridiculous. Used to dine here every Sunday evening. Never again.

One of the friendliest most hospitable informal restaurants I've been to recently in the UK. You're treated more like a guest, not a customer. On payment of the bill, we realized we'd not been charged for the large salads we'd had. It was not a mistake. Simply Afghan hospitality. They're renowned for it. Do go and rest there at your earliest opportunity

Bad customer service is waiters forgetting items I order they didn’t even give all the food that I ordered even though they wrote it down. Also food was cold had to wait 10 mins for naan and my lamb Karachi was getting cold. Waiters not even checking on the customers asking if they need something. Lamb Karachi all cold and chapul kebab not even cooked from the inside. This is a waste of money and terrible shop
