Absolutely stunning!!! My partner took me here for Valentines just gone and wow. The ambience was warm and inviting and our waiter Florin was brilliant and very attentive, cracked a joke here and there. He took our starters and main at the same time. We waited for our starter for almost 40/50 minuets and had many apologies due to it being very busy. Florine knocked off our wine and cocktail from the bill due to this. How lovely. We didn’t mind the wait and when the starter came it was worth it. Our mains were to die for and last but no means least a free lemon cello shot before we left! Absolutely one of the best meals we have had in many years. We will be back!

We go here a lot, me and my 2 daughters, we were served by a girl called Elicia?? I think it was her first shift! (30/01/2025) she was brilliant! Professional and could tell she was always looking for something that may need doing! The food was lovely and the front of house very friendly and inviting ! Thanks again Dasandros and Elicia,…. I was up in Huddersfield working for the weekend and a work colleague booked a table online at short notice once for a Saturday night. It was busy but everything was great and my Da Sandro pizza was just lovely.

Excellent restaurant - brilliant food and efficient service. They were also very child friendly, chatting to our 3 year old and making him feel welcome. They were really accommodating, and even bought him a bowl of strawberries for pudding as that was all he wanted - despite that being off menu. It was all very good value as well

Booked a party of 14 in between Xmas and New Year. Service was excellent as always. Food was delicious especially the Sanguinaccio black pudding, goats cheese, horizo and sweet chilli sauce starter - a taste sensation.

Brilliant eatery Lacking in parking spaces on busy nights

We went with 2 friends booked in at 7.30 and was seated on time no problems, was told when booking we would have to leave the table by 9.15 ,not a problem ,w ordered our food which arrived quickly ,all food was very good ,but I ordered lobster Ravioli with prawns to my surprise, 5 pieces of Ravioli and a spoon full of prawns turned up in my dish, anyway I'd soon eaten mine compared to the others ,and sat wondering should I have had a starter ,but as a pudding man thought no ,a pudding will be good ,15 minute's later after we'd all finished the waiters came and asked if we'd like a pudding ,we all said yes (8.30),then at 9.00 they came to take our order ,wr decided to get the bill,thinking we might not have time ,but to our disappointment, one young waiter was sat talking to his friend's at the side of us ,and table full of noisy young people not a problem ,but must be well know to quite a few waiter's as they all seemed to have a good chat with this table ,very disappointed, and to say we had to leave the table at 9.15 ,wasn't very busy when we left

Decent food. Great atmosphere. Very busy due to Xmas, but had to ask 4 times for a glass of water and when it came it had lipstick on it!

Great food, Excellent service... water Fabio was a star on point with his friendly but professional manner. The food is top notch and the deserts are a dream. If you like Italian restaurants, this is worth the drive out. I travelled from Cheshire to dine there... Say no more!

We’ve been here before when the food and service was lovely so decided to come again for a birthday celebration lunch. It was very expensive for mediocre meals. £30 for a steak on its own. £22 for a piece of chicken with the smallest smattering of veg and what looked like one small potato cut into cubes. £8 for a bland bread and butter pudding. The desserts were almost thrown onto the table as they were so busy. At one point a waiter took my husbands chair away to give to another table without saying anything whilst he was visiting the gents. It was far too noisy. All clientele were squashed into one small area when there were 2 other parts to the restaurant that were completely empty. Would we go again? No,

Went for a catch up with my brother and had a great meal and a good catch up.I enjoy the fact that you can have a good meal in a busy restaurant and still hear the person your sitting opposite from.

Well all I can say is the food is to die for ,the flavours and prestation is out of this world, there was 15 of us and evey one said the same . Yes its not cheap nor expensive but you get what you pay for and I will definitely be going back . Thank you Da Sandro for an amazing meal and great service

Have been here regularly in the past but something has changed and not for the better-mediocre food and fancy prices -the dessert was a lemon pavlova cheesecake -don’t think it had seen a lemon ,was a small potion and clearly mass produced ,it was so bland -could have done better with a Sainsbury’s taste the difference cheesecake -Over £33 for a bland ,unremarkable meal -plenty of better places to eat

Been coming to this lovely Italian restaurant for 43 years. Just celebrated our 44th wedding anniversary here. Lovely food staff and service. Can't wait to return.

Wow, I was really surprised how much I enjoyed everything about this restaurant. A delightful setting and ambience, followed by the most delicious food. Our USA friend really enjoyed his steak, as we all did, and the wine and the service was fantastic. We will be back.

Quite expensive steak was £31 and you had to pay £4.95 for chips to go with it as u only got a flat mushroom a tomato, n charred middle of onion that came with it.

Disappointed at least.Food was avarage at most, foccacia is not toast, and poppodums have no place in an italian restaurant,steak was undercooked and very bad quality cut, extremely arrogant looking waiters, not a smile in sight,not very welcoming. All in all, it's been a very disappointing experience .

Brilliant staff, amazing food, great atmosphere only thing missing was some genuine Sicilian mobsters waving their arms around shouting ' forgetta bout it!' Visited for a second time last night food was fabulous again only negative was the Ma Fratelli from the Goonies staff member who seemed a bit pissed off with us, we only asked for a pizza cutter and she seemed offended and went in a huff. Still we found the gold, freed the mutant son and saved the town.....Goonies never say die !

Just went down with my mum for a meal. We had a great time. The food was amazing, our waiter Juliano was very kind and helpful, attended to everything we needed. Would definitely recommend dining here. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Food was gorgeous. Every person at the table loved their starters, mains and desserts. Very busy evening with a great atmosphere. Service however, was rubbish. Took nearly half an hour to order food after we got our drinks, then a long time between each course, where I had to prompt our waitress twice to either take our order, or bring out cutlery with mains/desserts. Basic stuff. I also never received the coffee I ordered. I did feel sorry for our waitress as I'm not even sure we were "her" table to look after. Just seemed like a lot of young teens with no idea what they were doing. I really expected better. Disappointing.

Oh my god the food was exquisite and it had loads of depth to it I would say the best Italian food I have ever had!!

Where do I start? I thought the service was shocking. I’m a vegetarian, there’s a very limited choice of mains particularly. I asked for a vegetarian pizza but with no aubergines (as a previous visit proved too much aubergine!!) the waiter, who I think was one of the managers, seemed very reluctant to accept the order! Eventually, he said he would remove the aubergines!! When the pizza came I couldn’t cut through it so had to just tear it! Then we asked for a jug of water and I asked for a nosecco. I was brought a Prosecco !! I was driving!! We had to ask for the table to be cleared then we had to ask for a dessert menu and they didn’t come to take our order!! Obviously I didn’t leave a tip!! would not recommend this place at all!!!

Family party for 12 for my mother’s 80th. Food and service were exceptional. The atmosphere was perfect for a family celebration. Disabled access was very good indeed. We will be back again soon. Thank you to all the staff 👍🏼👌🥂

Outstanding service from all the staff,specially Julliano ,made us feel so welcomed and appreciated! All the food was exceptional,however the stake was a bit chewy compared with other times (it might have been the cut of meat).The gamberoni picante were delicious and probably my favourite part of the meal. The lamb chops were excellent and perfect cooked and seasoned. Thank you so much for the birthday lovely limoncello shots,perfect ending of a wonderful meal!

I had a terrible experience at Da Sandro Restaurant during my stay at Briar Hotel. The service was incredibly poor. The waiter initially refused to provide a drinks menu and only offered non-alcoholic options. When I finally received a menu, it was brought by a different waiter. The manager's apology was insincere. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Classic Italian menu from the 80s but all well presented and well cooked, so don't be fooled. This place knows what it's doing. A good atmosphere and attentive and professional staff. You can rely on this place, it's not groundbreaking, but it usually tastes really good.

An excellent evening. Group of 6 met up, this was special as we hadn't met together for a number of years. Da Sandros is a long established Italian restaurant in Huddersfield and I must say the food was great. The service was 1st class and the restaurant had a buzz about it. Even on a Tuesday evening the restaurant was very busy and a reservation was essential for a larger party.

Upon arrival we were greated by a gentleman, told our table wasn't ready and ushered to the bar area. This is where the problems started. It took over ten minutes to get served. Sometime later we were taken to our table which once we'd sat down we realised it rocked, easy fix with a napkin but why has this not been noticed. Food is average at best. I had the SANGUINACCIO to start. The sweet chili sauce was so spicy that you couldn't taste anything else on the plate and I like spicy. For my main I ordered a pizza and a side of zucchini fritters. The pizza was soggy and appeared to have tinned mushrooms on it. The zucchini fritters didn't even arrive. Whilst the rest of our party had deserts I decided to just have a hot chocolate to drink whilst they were eating. Nope they had all finished by the time I received it. Whilst we were still eating they decided to slide to extra chairs in-between us. Could this not have waited. Overall it was a negative experience. It appear they treat their customers as a necessary evil.

Some may find it a bit noisy, but I can't fault the quality of the food or service! One of our party was on call and had to take a phone call - the staff were happy to take his starter out to the car for him!

My sister invited us to go there. Food was very very nice. My wife is still talking about it now we are back in Australia.

Came here last month with my partner, our experience of the whole evening was really nice, the staff were so welcoming and the food was quality. We both had a 3 course meal, bottle of wine and a coke which came to just less than £100. The food and service matches the prices all day long. Definitely will call back here

We went on Father's Day, and although it was busy with tables of large groups the service was attentive. The food came quickly and all six in our party found both starters and mains delicious, we were too full for dessert. This was my first visit, the restaurant is quite far from where I live, but would definitely go again for a special occasion.

Have been dining at Da Sandros since it first opened and never really had a bad meal there the food is always good, as it was on this occasion Sunday 23rd June 2024 - unfortunately the staff on the day were oblivious to customer requirements, not being observant, not clearing tables between courses and totally disinterested in their job. It was embarassing for staff when they brought out the main dishes only to find that the table had not been cleared from the starters and had nowhere to place the dishes containing the main meals. It was the same when the mains were finished dishes were just left there, we had to ask a girl if she would clear the table which she did somewhat reluctantly. We then had to ask if we could see a desert menu, she brought one and never came back to take the order. Just really poor quality service and made what should have been a nice meal a very poor experience. We reported to matter to the manager on the day who apparently was aware of the situation but just offered a polite apology. Simply not good enough when paying over £200 for service that does not match the quality of the food. Normally we wouldn't think twice about dining at Da Sandro's but after that experience we would be cautious about booking again. Simply train staff to be aware of what is going on instead of wondering around tables making it look as though they are aware but not seeing the wood for the trees. We were not the only ones to complain on the day - truly disappointing.

5 star all round. Never had to ask for a drink. Food was amazing. Would highly recommend. 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

Although busy for a Monday lunchtime, there was plenty of staff and virtually no waiting time! A definite return to restaurant despute the 170 mile round trip!!! Go!!...you won't be disappointed!!!!

You need to try this place at least once! We were so happy with our first night that we decided to dine in for the remainder of our trip. The staff are absolutely wonderful, the prices are very reasonable and the quality is good. It has more of a home style feel.

Loved the food and the atmosphere was great, very busy restaurant. Only slight drawback, my chair leg collapsed under me and I nearly ended up on the deck! Replacement chair arrived but no word of apology or concern from management team.

My son and I both decided to go for the filet steak, and we were not disappointed. The steaks were cooked to perfection, with a beautiful char on the outside and a juicy, tender center. My mother decided to go for the Lasagna, a classic Italian dish that can be hit or miss at many restaurants. However, at Da Sandro, the Lasagna was a true standout. Good food and the staff were really helpful - my fiancé had to take a work call so they brought his starter out to the car in the car park which was really kind.

Ordered a veggi pizza. Arrived tepid at best. Veg (aubergene, courgette) were described as "roasted". Very chewey and tasteless. As i watched them making the pizza by hand the chef stopped and blew his nose on some blue tissue, didnt wash his hands aferwards. He then picked at his nose and scratched his inner ear using his little finger before carrying on with the pizza dough. He then used a pen he was using to take orders and proceeded to stick that in his ear. I was eating my pizza at the time but it didnt instill confidence on how mine was cooked. My son had spaghetti bolegnese and said mine was nicer. Very disappointed with food overall.

Updated 6/4/2024 the old DaSandros is back 🙏🏽 Poor review added but they are back with excellent food so below no longer applies New pics added below was a couple of years ago now but the usual excellent standard has returned must have had a bad night ! Tonight was amazing ********************************************* With heavy heart I make this report about my favourite restaurant for the past 25 years . Never ever have I had a bad meal here always waiters attentive and food always top top quality BUT !!! and it’s a big but ! Weeks prior to a dear relatives 62nd wedding anniversary a table of 12 with a high chair was booked for last night Sunday 26th March at 6pm we arrived early and was told no table booked ! We had rang a week ago and even last night to reconfirm and was told all confirmed yet now no table ?!? However as he looked he said a table for 12 with high chair had been reserved in another name .. possible admin error but that has never happened before ! Sat at our table took an age to get our drinks from very young staff finally ordered our starters and mains . I always have the ribs for starters which usually comes in it’s own bowl with thick sticky sauce and has meat dropping off the bone what came was dry bones devoid of much meat and sauce I complained to two staff who said they would pass it on! Fillet steak again very small but perfectly cooked I have to admit . Now our favourite sides of vegetables at a fiver a portion used to be the highlight it’s clear either a change of chef or standards have dropped but small bowls with boiled veg one tossed in oil pretending to be roasted and another had a few pieces of rosemary on it ! Very poor show as it was early and not busy . I have been here Saturday night with it rammed and the food always spot on . Finally sweets ordered I had a cheese board but informed them must be gluten free crackers as I was sharing with partner who could have normal … eventually it came and for a tenner to see six Jacob crackers as the offering with three slivers of cheese was a disappointment. I queried are these gluten free as ordered yes I was told ! I said I didn’t know that Jacob crackers came in gf he said he would check he came back said sorry they aren’t he then took my side plate removed three crackers with his hands and put three gluten free in it’s place again with his hands ! Overall very poor . We eat out a lot and I am afraid you have ruined a 25 year memory for me and others in the group had been going longer ! Bill over £500 with a £50 addition for service charge . Family didn’t want to pay but we did and left . Da Sandro’s will always be busy as it has a loyal following but we travel 20 miles with a baby in several cars to spend over £500 and was left very disappointed with everyone saying the place had changed for the worst and better available nearer home . Sad end of a once great restaurant 2 stars for the memories only food and service poor ( no longer applies ) recent review added

Absolutely loved my dining experience at this upscale restaurant! The ambiance was luxurious, and the staff were incredibly welcoming. It was surprising to see more staff than customers during midday, but it ensured impeccable service. Overall, a fantastic dining experience!

Long time not here. Ordered my usual double ribs starter and cheese garlic bread as a main. Grand but the BBQ "sauce" portion management team must have been working tonight 🤣🤣. In all seriousness, not the cheapest, but you pay for what you get. One of the best meals we've had in quite a while

The restaurant is characterized by an elegant dinning room ... The service of the waiters is attentive and friendly... I really enjoyed the small selection of whiskeys in the bar... The cuisine is Italian with some suggestions a little more refined but that I really appreciated ... There is also a good choice in the wine list... I highly recommend it!

An execeptionally good lunch, service 1st class, the staff couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. Only one tiny disappointment, the mussels were smaller than on other occasions but the sauce was delicious.

Interesting experience. To be clear, the food isn't remotely authentic - the "focaccia" wasn't a focaccia at all, but a pizza base with oil on it - if I'd known that I wouldn't have ordered a pizza. The "authentic carbonara" had cream in it (that's not Italian). The front of house was vaguely terrifying in an amusing way, but this isn't a French restaurant. Overall, we had a good time, but mostly in spite of the food and staff. Wouldn't come back.

Popped in tonight after the match. Most staff all good except for the manager. Made it very clear we needed to be quick and was poor when taking order. Talking over my dad and rushing him along. Food was good except the pasta dish which was oily. Lovely venue and pizza oven. Only other thing to be aware of is the early bird menu is a little confusing especially when you are being rushed along.
