Absolutely loved the service by Mr Shuhel. He deserves a raise!! Food was 3/5. Not bad not extraordinary.

Food quality was great, and staff were helpful.

The food here was ok but unfortunately some dishes were a little bland, the service was friendly for the most part but took a very long time to take our order and one member of staff was very blunt. The real let down was not to do with the resteraunt itself but with the other diners who were extremely loud, drunk and swearing which was not very nice. On the positives the portion sizes here are very generous however I would not personally return.

Food was ok. Bhuna tasted sweet for some reason. Tandoori King prawns cost over £15 and didn't come with rice or salad, wasn't very big either. Waiting staff were great.

Been here many times had great meals had chicken tikka this week and for some reason lacked flavour tasted like normal Chicken coated in what?and the rice was poor had better from supermarkets felt as if no effort or care in spicing had been done all very odd

Tried there sylhet biriani was very tasty and very friendly helpful staff ,nice atmosphere I would highly recommend this restaurant .

Never disappoints. Brought my family for a New Year’s Eve dinner, even though it was busy, the staff made us feel welcome. Food was fantastic and great value for money (two boxes taken home as portions are huge). Enough options for vegetarians.

When it's good, it's the best, and I mean the best. Complex layers of flavour, beautiful tender meat, lovely. BUT it's the inconsistency that upsets me. You'll get 3 banging meals, then 2 that put you off for months at a time, where they're average to bad (but at a premium price). I'm not sure if they have different chefs on different days, or it changes when it's busy, but it puts you off ordering because you don't know whether it'll be a good day or a bad day. I just wish they'd sort this. Also, the last time I ordered a half heat curry, it seemed to be double heat. I couldn't manage it, and it was £13 thrown away for me. They did offer to sort it when I next ordered, but they didn't, despite me mentioning it. I'm not complaining about that, per se, but I just wish I could trust it was going to be good when I ordered. Keep up the good work of when it's amazing. Because when it is, it really is the best.

Poppadoms were stale. We sent them back the waiter but did not apologise. The food was below average. No atmosphere.

Nothing like it used to be chicken korma is no longer silky and creamy was just piled with sugar and coconut nothing like their original recipe, butter chicken same again nothing like it used to be just sugar and coconut , to say be enjoying their original recipes for over 20 years to have the first one in a while was dissaponted and didnt get the unique recipe iv know for well over 2 decades

Dined at curry mahal on several occasions. The staff are always very friendly and always go the extra mile to help Ash the owner is the nicest fella The atmosphere and the food are second to none. The food is fantastic

As an Indian with lots of years of home cooked Punjabi meals and multiple experiences of eating in various restaurants, I was extremely disappointed to be presented with a bowl of coconut milk with peas and paneer pieces in there 😑 I know my curries and this was far from being an Indian kurma which is one of my favourite curry base. The staff member then had the cheek to say 'I'm not going to argue with you' when I simply explained the reason why I decided to reject the dish. This is for the benefit of the restaurant to improve the dish. I'm not going to eat a ridiculously sweet dish for my main meal. I then ordered another favourite dish of mine (tarka dhal) which was a better experience than the first. I ate that with the roti that had gone cold.

Been many times never had a bad meal

Undoubtedly one of the best Indian restaurants I have visited in the UK, fresh food, excellent flavor and presentation, simple and efficient service, smiling staff and the best, price is extremely fair. It reminded me of some restaurants in Italy where the family works to serve the customers, it's really worth the visit.

Ok I am from down south,so the curry is different and better down south

I have eaten at this restraint twice a month for years. But recently the meals have been missing items which caused us to return to the restraint or do without. I addressed this with the restraunt on multiple occasions and never felt satisfied with their response. This last meal my maim dish had no meat which I paid for. I phone to complain and didn't even get an apology. I said I would go to a different restraunt in future and they were not bothered. Customer loyalty means nothing to this restraunt. No doubt this will be deleted but be warned.

Went there last night as one of a group of 12 for a friend's pre wedding "Last Night Of Freedom" meal. We had booked in advance so they had a heads up however their service was so slick and professional I believe that even without forewarning of a large group they would have coped admirably. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated and furnished. We sat at a long table with plenty of elbow room. Our orders were taken and the food arrived promptly and the portions were huge. The food was gorgeous. We had 2 poppadoms each with nice pickles that seemed to have been made there as opposed to runny mass produced stuff. I then had the Dall with chicken and the Kulch naan, washed down with 2 pints of draught Kingfisher beer. My share of the group bill was £26. Value for money considering the quality of the food. The staff were attentive but not hovering to push drinks which we've encountered in other places. Thoroughly recommended. Well done.

Had a delicious meal here as part of a networking event. The staff were courteous and most helpful. I highly recommend the lamb bhuna and the tikka masala. Easy access with a ramp up to the door. The facilities are a little tight; however, everything is there for a side transfer. I'm in a big electric wheelchair so should be fine for self propellers.

Heard lots of good reviews from people was disappointed ordered a mixed tikka balti no king prawns init bhaji really greasy and soggy keema rice was tasteless curries weren't great we had takeaway it's a shame cause staff seemed nice and restaurant seemed nice inside and clean

Very nice food, clean restaurant and friendly atmosphere

This place is quite nice inside and the staff were friendly enough. I was a little bit disappointed with the food though. The chicken Bhuna was very oily and had a puddle of oil in the bowl. I know I'm not going for a curry as a healthy option but I wasn't expecting it to be as greasy as that.

Brilliant set of lads, so courteous and helpful. Funny thing happened, I had ordered a Rogon, it arrived and I was tucking into it when the manager came and said they had served me a Bunha and would I like to swap. The Bunha was far better than the Rogon so I finished it off. He offered me the Rogon as well but I was full and finished with a coffee. The bill showed our two coffees were free as a good will gesture! Needless to say we will return in the near future.

absolutely terrible curry from here tonight. I have eaten here plenty, inside the restaurant and also takeaway, tonight I got a chicken tikka shobuz & the way they decided to spice up my bland sauce was to add a rediculous amount of crucials hot chilli sauce to it, so much that I could tell straight away by seeing all the little red chilli bits & it tasted just like it, 35 quid for some chicken and hot chilli sauce. PATHETIC! lazy chefs who wont being getting any custome from me anymore! STAY CLEAR OF THIS RESTAURANT!!!!!!!

Awful experience this evening. Rang asking for advice about various fish dishes. Advised to go on Facebook for menu. Explained that I don't have Facebook. Told to go online for menu. I asked whether they had a menu there and was told that they weren't prepared to look through the menu. Rang Dil rag and ordered takeaway from there. Some one needs to explain to staff that there are alternatives in dodworth and customer service is key.

The food and service were good little outside of Barnsley (just over the M1)...if you are staying at the holiday inn or the ibis styles with work it is really not far away and might make a change from the hotel -i was there on a Wednesday and it was busy ..always a good sign

It is Indian by definition, if I understood correctly. Correct location. Hospitality: top. Cuisine: excellent Indian cuisine. I ordered a Chicken Vindaloo. The dish was tasty and very spicy. FYI: you can drink Kingfisher beer at their place. Payment by credit card possible. To recommend.
