Curated Kitchen & Coffee in Belfast

Out with my daughter at her induction day at the Art College. So, that being finished, I was starving. Just across the Buoy Park was the Curated Kitchen. Result! Very steam punk in design, spacious and smelling great this filled me with a hungering expectancy. We went with French Toast with Sumac-roasted strawberries and a Lamb Jalapeño Pita. I had the Lamb Jalapeño was such a brunch delight. The jalapeño pesto with the lamb was perfectly placed giving heat and spice in a terrifically tasteful way. I haven’t had lamb better truthfully. The food is amazing absolutely what I needed with great portions and reasonably priced. Here’s the thing I was embarrassed because I had forgotten my card and was 20p short on the tab, such an embarrassment, but the guys were gracious and helpful. If you guys are heading to art college check The Curated Kitchen. It’s simply wonderful.

Situated across the road from St Anne's Cathedral, the Curated Kitchen is one of the best of its kind in the Cathedral Quarter. We've eaten here twice in the past couple of months. Breakfast both times.. I'm a huge fan of Avo Toast, so the combination of sourdough toast; thickly-sliced, obviously-local bacon, generous avocado and perfectly poached eggs was a winner for me. I like the fact that their dishes name-check the books from which they come, and the books are on show to prove their point, in case you're wondering. The service is cheerful, knowledgeable, and attentive. The coffee is excellent, and served in really heavy ceramic mugs, which makes for a distinctive feel. The coffee-bean variety changes every so often, but every time I've had coffee here I've drunk it to the last drop, which is unusual for me. There's a lot of dodgy coffee in the world, something I often forget until I get a cup of the Curated Kitchen's offering. So yes, I'd recommend this place. I'm definitely going to get lunch there soon..

Wow. From seeing a post on Instagram to finally getting in to sample the amazing menu and delicious coffee what an awesome experience!!! Definitely this place hits the taste buds hard and I will be a regular!!

The coffee here is outstanding! Staff are incredibly knowledgeable and very friendly, the coffee shop is beautifully presented, I ordered take away but if I had longer I’d have stayed in. I ordered a filter coffee, truly delicious! And a coconut macaroon type bite, it was outstanding, unlike I had ever tasted before - perhaps with a little syrup through it? Not sure but both purchases were phenomenal! Thanks so much!

I love Curated Kitchen for a Sunday morning coffee. Has a great atmosphere and the staff are very friendly. They do great coffee and a delicious vegan banana bread. You can also browse the variety of cookbooks they use while you wait! I'm yet to try any how food but the menu always looks great!

I came here with a friend today. He had the sourdough bread with bacon, poached egg and avocado; I had the veggie chilli with guacamole. He enjoyed his plate and I thought my chilli was absolutely delicious; it’s a pity there wasn’t a bit more but I appreciate not everyone is as much of a dustbin as me! No complaints re the service either. Would go back.

After hearing great reviews, I visited today. I had the cranberry butterscotch French toast with cream. It was OK. The presentation was very poor. The cream had melted and was swirling around the plate when I got it. Certainly did not replicate the photos on Facebook. Also there was no butterscotch flavour. Very disappointing because my sister raves about the peanut butter and banana French toast. Service was prompt. Not much of a welcome and no goodbye at all.

I go here regularly and absolutely love the food on offer, it never disappoints, nor the staff! This is probably why I was so disappointed with today's experience. Again the food was fab but the cafe was absolutely freezing and everyone had their coats and scarves on. When I asked the girl if the heat was on, she simply looked at me and said no, it isn't. I then explained I was freezing and everyone is wrapped up and she just said that they don't put the heating on when people are sitting near the windows on the high chairs as the heat blows down on them. She didn't apologise nor offer to put the heat on when I mentioned I was freezing. I told her that's very odd as the rest of your customers are then freezing which isn't pleasant at all. She seemed totally unphased so I just admitted defeat and kept my coat and scarf on. Like I said, I love the food and the people but heating is essential, especially in winter and can't be kept off for the minority sitting underneath it, 4-6 seats maximum versus 12+ on the other side who are freezing. It mightve been nice for her to offer to put it on also when I told her we were freezing.

I gambled on choosing Braised Bean w/ Planters Relish & Egg for breakfast and it turned out better than expected (I wanted to avoid getting the "usual" like Poached Eggs/Avocado/Bacon on Sourdough). My girlfriend had the Granola w/ Yoghurt, Berries & Honey - she found a new favourite yoghurt and she's been buying it for home ever since. I had a flat white and she had filter (which looked to have been a V60 pour?) and we both thought they were pretty good (we're fairly snobbish about our coffee). The menu is generally quite limited and the atmosphere seemed to be lacking something - otherwise I'd recommend it if you're in the area (but would recommend Established over this for breakfast).

Went for lunch on a Friday with some work colleagues and left without ordering any food. To run with a concept as limiting as a 'curated kitchen' you would need to have all the options available on your menu. The majority of the food on offer is under the brunch section. The lunch menu only had 3 items on it, 2 of which were not available. 1pm on a Friday the meat option wasn't ready and the soup was not available on a Friday. I wont be wasting my lunchtime back here if the only 3 items available for lunch cannot be managed.

Yes great food and I would recommend this place highly. However we won’t be able to go back, there are few seats and it’s difficult for us to stand around waiting . We both have a physical disability. What a shame. Glad to have given it a few goes.

Simple and stylish cafe near St Anne's cathedral, excellent coffee and a really imaginative range of breakfast options from around the world. We went twice, I can strongly recommend the avocado bacon and poached eggs, and the bubble and squeak, we weren't in Belfast long enough to try the other options! The coffee is delicious but it's rocket fuel.

Very disappointed and expensive. We ordered coffee tea and slice of cake. The cake was dry and the tea was leaves but no tea strainer offered or in sight. It was the end of the day and staff were more interested in cleaning up . I was watching as they were trying to sort out what cakes went back into what boxes lots of sniffing going on lol. Wht not wash the boxes and put cakes back into clean boxes instead of looking the boxes. Not a pleasant experience.

Read the great reviews so was looking forward to trying this place out, and it definitely met with my high expectations. I came in on my own and got a warm welcome and one of the staff made sure I had somewhere to sit that I was happy with. I ordered a flat white and then sat to have a look at the menu. It was only a small menu but they packed in a lot of variety so there'd be something for everyone. I asked for the avocado and poached eggs on toast but with halloumi instead of bacon, in order to make it vegetarian, and they were more than happy to oblige. Both coffee and food were delicious, can't fault them. A lovely, relaxed and friendly atmosphere makes this place well worth visiting.
