Great food. Very friendly service. Accommodated my elderly mum and 2 young kids with pernickety food requirements! I ordered soup and scampi and can honestly say that the scampi was the best I've ever had. Very family friendly, high quality restaurant food in a food court off a butchers. Defo worth a visit. Will be coming back for sure.

Great place for an evening meal and a few cocktails. We went at lunch time, hubby had steak, cooked to perfection, he ate the lot, I had the haddock and chips, absolutely beautiful, fantastic waiter service from the young man, he could rhyme of all the specials without hesitation, lovely way with customers, highly recommend for any family meal, great selection on the menu, will definitely be back, if your in Kilkeel definitely try here, but make sure you book ad this place is always busy.

We popped in on our way from Wicklow to Newcastle, Co Down. Wow! Best lunch ever. Excellent food. Excellent service. Lovely friendly atmosphere.

We had booked a large table of 11. We were greeted warmly and seated immediately. I enjoyed a delicious cocktail and the kids enjoyed a 'mocktail'. Our order was taken quickly from very knowledgeable and pleasant waiting staff. The food was delicious! We had an array of roast dinners, chicken stacks, burgers, chicken strips, and my husband had a really great steak sandwich. Tobacco onions were excellent. We were even raving about the veg! The gravy and peppered sauce- devine. The portion sizes were very generous but I think we cleaned it all! The kids enjoyed ice cream after with a choice of sauce, these came with fun extras eg. mallows. So we had a fantastic dinner, in a lovely presented restaurant , served by professionals. When we paid we found it very reasonable . Thanks so much Cunninghams!

We ordered some foods to take home...I was assured, before placing the order that foods were ok to freeze.....the packaging stated not suitable to freeze. On asking the owner, he said maybe the items coated in breadcrumbs might be a bit soggy after freezing. The advertising said fresh ingredients, you wont get the 'thirst' you get from a takeaway.......the ingredient list is full of additives/E numbers....the heating instructions were not appropriate.....the microwave at 5 mins per pack may be ok if you check and make sure your microwave is up to that....however oven heating at 180'c for 10 mins is definitely not safe. I did ask the owner re this and he asked me if it was raining or nice in our part of the country 😬

Heerlijk Vis en Chips gegeten, in een gezellige Pub we werden netje bediend en hoefde niet lang te wachten ondanks dat het toch wel druk was. we werden door aardig personeel geholpen.

We went for dinner as it was mu husbands birthday, Paul, Desi, Rosie and Amy were lovely, we have had meals here, and as always the food was delicious, we will definitely be back, its better to book, that way your sure of a table as its always very busy.

They have an excellent menu but ALL OVER PRICED. My wife an I had a lunch burger with fires with a pot of tea for 2 bill came to £36. Food and service was good but £36 for a burger lunch is daylight robbery. There was nothing special about the meals but nothing to complain about apart from the price. A week later we tried out the Kilmorey hotel kilkeel and prices and portions were better. Think I will give this place a miss to save money.

We called just after 12 and the place was very busy. The staff member who seated us was rude and abrupt, but the waiter who served us couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. It's very easily accessible with ramps. The range of food on the menu is huge. It's hard to choose, but everything was freshly made and delicious. I had the Katsu chicken loaded fries. The portions are very generous and filling but they'll give you a box for your leftovers. My mum had the Pensioner's Roast Beef dinner, which she enjoyed but couldn't eat the parsnip and carrot as it was hot but rock hard. My dad had the Squiddly Diddly loaded fries which were perfection. Will definitely go back. Nice for a treat.

My husband and I went for a date night, food was gorgeous - wings are amazing and we had steak & the special, which was fish pie with 3 different cheese topped with mash. Also had lovely cocktail and gin! Staff were lovely and professional. Would be helpful if the Facebook menu was updated as we had looked at it prior to going and it was different and the cost of cocktails was different.

Called in today for a late lunch and we were not disappointed. The service offered by Paul and his staff was first class. Despite being fairly busy the restaurant was extremely clean and we did notice that once a table was cleared it was cleaned immediately. The food we chose , haddock, chips, peas and salad was well presented and very tasty. We hope to return soon.

We've been here before and were very impressed, and meant to write a great review, but our leisurely lunch today just demands bigtime public appreciation. The restaurant is welcoming and spotless, with a great atmosphere. Great staff are an essential for any successful business, and Cunninghams have them. Portion sizes are generous and value for money is exceptional. All these things are important, but what sets this place apart is the quality of the food. There were four of us, each of us enjoying something different, ranging from perfectly prepared traditional to perfectly prepared daring fusion food. I can’t even begin to describe how good my “Squiddly Diddly Loaded Fries” were without sounding full of hype, so I won’t try. Here’s a challenge, instead. You try the perfect taste and texture of Cunninghams’ squid and see if you can come up with a verbal description that does them justice.

Arrived at 11:30am to be told that breakfast was over. Misleading information on the site as it shows breakfast finishes at 11:45. Didn’t mind too much however staff weren’t all that kind about it. Maybe should update information across your sites if this is the case. Menu attached as below

Came to Cunningham’s over the holidays with a group of friends and was over the moon with our meal. Almost everyone has the 10 Oz Sirloin and it was delicious, cooked perfectly. The cocktails tasted amazing and the service was fab! Reasonable pricing for what we had and was a lovely atmosphere, can’t wait to go back!

I love this place, the staff is friendly and their customer service is through the roof, I eat there every time I am in killkeel, mostly there for their awesome seafood and opt for the phenomenal burger if I don't like the options for sea food. I met the owner once and he too was very friendly. OH THE CHEESECAKE IS EVERYTHING the reason I put on weight :(. They do have fresh steak option if that's your thing based on my partners review its the best ever.....don't think about it just go you wont regret it.... I have had the pleasure of dining at Cunningham's many times due to my Parents moving back to Kilkeel a few years ago. Every time it impresses and my latest visit was more of the same. The food is amazing, simple as that. Coupled with the cleanliness, the friendliness of the staff and the wide selection of top quality produce it really is something a bit special.My last visit between 24.09.2019 to 27.09.2019 saw me in there three times and every time was just great. In a world where people are very quick to criticise I feel it important to highlight the good things and if you Visit Northern Ireland and don't go to Cunningham's then you really are missing out.The girl that served my Mom and I whilst I was there was very funny and so polite, a real credit to you all. (Forgive me I forget her name but she was great)I am a fussy eater I think it is fair to say but nothing seems to be too much trouble to them at all. I had the Cunningham's Burger which was very well cooked and presented, the Belgian Waffles are amazing and very decadent. I could go on and on but I won't. Suffice to say that this is without any shadow of doubt a wonderful venue and I encourage anyone that can get there to do so. And they always look after my Mom so they can't go wrong.See you all soon

Over to Kilkeel from Scotland on holiday. First night was a trip to the Bistro. My wife had the lamb, and I had the seafood red Thai curry. No words are enough to descride this bistro. We had to come back the following day for Brunch. This is a gem of a place, and all awards are well deserved. And yes, we visited on the day we returned home and spent over £200 on various things. If you are ANYWHERE in Ireland, head to Kilkeel. The place is amazing. A visit to Cunninghams is worth the trip alone. To describe Cunninghams as "outstanding" does not do the business justice. The food and the service are beyond words.I would love to have met James. But if you are reading this James, thanks for one of the best food experiences of my life!!!!

On our way back from Carlingford we stopped into the butchers for some steaks! To say they were some of the best steaks I’ve ever had is an understatement. I asked for them to be thick cut and I think I’ll be dining on them at least for two more days. They were aged to perfection, tender as could be. My husband likes well done and I like black and blue. Both were delicious and tender. Wish I lived closer.

My husband and I just went in to have coffee. Didnt have scones left so we had a sweet treat and hwen i say sweet I mean sweet. I had a brownie which was so sugary I felt quite ill . my husband had a chcocolate muffin which was stale probably leftover from the weekend. My coffee was horrible no flavour and very bad taste. my husbands cappuccino was just ok. Was expecting great things but will not return.

We visited here for dinner with our 9 month old daughter in July. The restaurant is very family friendly, staff are very accomodating and the food is yummy.

Had a great meal (fish, chips and minted mushy peas and salted chillie chicken), the food was excellent. Great menu caters for all tastes and sizes of meals, I'll have to keep going back as there was so much to choose from. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly and attentive without fussing. The surroundings are lovely and the place is spotless. Full access for wheelchairs and easy access to the toilet.Can't wait for our next visit.

We had a memorable dinner at Cunningham when visiting Kilkeel. What a great place, friendly and helpful staff and the food is delicious. We can't wait to visit again.

We visited Cunninghams Kitchen as a group of 19 hillwalkers. We booked for the Saturday and Sunday evenings. The restaurant doesn't normally open late on Sunday, but they stayed open for our group. The service was excellent and the food was great. Would recommend.

When we are in the area we make a point of coming to cunninghams. The food and service here are second to none and yet again we left today with another positive experience under our belts. We arrived without a booking something which we won't do again as, as usual it was so so busy, after a short wait in the butchers end which we were given a complementary coffee which was great and very much appreciated we got a table. The waiter went through the specials of which seemed lovely but we opted for the chicken supreme and the chicken chorizo pasta two off the nicest dishes we've ever eaten. The waiter explained that everything was freshly prepared and as there were multiple tables in front of us to expect a little wait on the food. So nicely done and again nice not to be left wondering were we forgot about. The food well worth waiting for would be an understatement simply fantastic. We didn't have sweet as we had arranged to meet friends in another town. Again well done cunninghams you never let us down. You will see us again soon thank you.

I went with 2 friends to have brunch as a late breakfast. I had the veggie option but as I don't eat eggs (as well as being vegetarian), I had an extra hash brown instead. The reason I was a bit disappointed was because of the really minute serving of halloumi. My meat eating friends had loads of protein on their plates and I had this teeny weeny bit of halloumi. The meal was very tasty and I enjoyed it but felt a little hard done by. I did mention it to the staff when I paid and they said they would pass my comments on to the chef. I will probably try it one more time when I'm next in the area and see how it is then. My friends also enjoyed their meal.

This isa total hidden gem - the staff are so lovely and helpful but also super friendly too! The steaks are amazing and all our food we ordered was just top quality ! You need to visit this place as it’s wonderful 😀

Stopped for lunch whilst driving through. Delightful! Shared a cote de beouf between three of us as we weren't terribly hungry and the dish was meant for two. Just superb! Really nice family ambience, staff were friendly but not at all intrusive. Will definitely make a point of traveling back to visit again. Highly recommended.

Visiting family in kilkeel and visited the deli side. Everything looked lovely and presentation was excellent. Bought rounds of sandwiches for everyone. Fillings were excellent and extremely tasty. So much so son has filled up on sandwiches to take with him on return to Scotland and their burgers which were buy one get one free and other items for their freezer!!!!

To say I'm fussy about my steak would be an understatement however I had a sirloin with all the trimmings and I can honestly say that it was without a doubt the best I have had in some time. It was succulent and tender and full of taste. My wife had the fillet and her sentiments were exactly as mine. delicious. The accompanying sauces and side dishes were fab as were the portion sizes.The staff were extremely attentive and nothing was too much bother. Special mention must go out for Paul the Restaurant Manager for his care and attention. This is currently a bring your own bottle establishment but I understand there will be a licence in force in the near future. This will be the icing on the cake and hopefully there will be a quality selection of wine available. I'm sure there will be as the management appear to leave no stone unturned when it comes to quality of service and most importantly food.This visit will definitely not be the last. After having two lovely evening meals we had heard through a friend about the new brunch menu. Absolutely superb, the boss still opted for the full Irish which is super value, I had the brunch bap with beef sausage brilliant . As always service above and beyond with food to match. We had a really enjoyable meal here on Sunday evening 29 July 2018. Not being local to the area my husband googled places to eat in Kilkeel and that is how we ended up there. I never would have thought of a restaurant being there as the frontage is a butcher’s shop with a cow and calf outside on the pavement. So glad to have found it.I enjoyed the nicest prawn cocktail I had ever had and then we both went for the beer battered haddock and chips. Totally tasty and staff were lovely.

This was a family outing having traveled from Greenore on the new car ferry to Greencastle. I had identified Cunningham's Kitchen from the TripAdvisor list for Kilkeel. We were not disappointed. The food was delicious and the menu perfect for us all, including a vegetarian. The atmosphere was relaxed and the place was popular. Our Swiss visitors were impressed and really enjoyed their beer battered fish, which was light and crisp. We highly recommend the place.

We recently had lunch here as part of a large group. Our experience was excellent. Staff were extremely polite and friendly and were able to cope with 26 people dining at once. The food was delicious and there was a wide variety to choose from on the menu. The meat was extremely tasty and everyone commented on the quality. There is an additional butchery next door and we all enjoyed purchasing some food to take home. A great experience all round. We will be back.

A big thanks to James and his staff for looking after us today. We had a group of 17 club members for lunch and as always the best of service and food was delivered. The only down side was the weather it rained all day so wet bikers arrived but as always a warm welcome at Cunninghams. Found this place on Trip Advisor while on holiday in Annalong and it was a great find, we went for lunch and had the steak sandwich which was beautiful! Very reasonably priced too. Very friendly staff so would definitely recommend

Went for lunch with my husband and son today, wasn’t aware this gem of a restaurant existed and so we were pleasantly surprised. Food was fantastic and the staff were even better. We really enjoyed our lunch and couldn’t recommend it enough. Can’t wait to come back!

I was recommended this place by some very friends. My dad and I were not disappointed. I had the seafood chowder as a starter and it was divine, large chunks's of fresh seafood in a lovely sauce. I followed with the battered fish of the day, it was delicious, crispy batter and beautiful cooked haddock. The chips were to die for. My dad was not disappointed with his burger, and would definitely be back. Give it a try. Great homemade food with great service.

Called in yesterday for a late lunch after spending a few hours in the Mournes. We were greeted by a friendly warm dark haired girl and were shown to a table. The blond who served us couldn’t have been more different - stiff, cold, condescending and patronising(and she didn’t treat the other staff too well either!) I question whether hospitality is really her forte!The seafood chowder I had was delicious but the toasted sandwich my husband had had an average garnish. They arrived 20 minutes after we had ordered them and later customers were served before us.It’s a shame as this is what Kilkeel was crying out for but the young staff give a better impression than the older one.

We were in kilkeel for Easter and this place was fantastic! The food was superb in the restaurant and the grub we got from the butcher's was just as good. Super friendly staff too, cannot recommend this place enough.

Worth a visit if in kilkeel. We had a family dinner there. The food was delicious and very reasonable. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had the steak special. Steak was cooked to perfection and came straight from the adjoining butchers!!! My son had the chilli dog special which he couldn't finish but thoroughly enjoyed. The menu looked great especially the deserts. Kids had easter eggs to get through so we passed but I did get a takeaway Pavlova that was delicious.

Weekends aren’t weekends without a visit to the butchers! Cunningham’s Kitchen is a must when in Kilkeel. Excellent bistro food from steaks to fish, burgers and chicken. Try their scallops, delicious! Try their Tomahawk steak, delicious! Try their seafood chowder, delicious! Chef you excelled yourself this Easter weekend with your tail of monkfish Thai curry, off the scale completely! This wee restaurant has it all. The staff are excellent and nothing a bother to them. To top it all off, Cunningham’s Kitchen is Bring Your Own!! The fact that you can bring your own choice of wine, beer etc makes this a very reasonable night out. Customer car parking out back and what more could you want.

Was brought here by my parents on a recent trip home.New since the last time I was in Killeel.I found this place to be a real surprise, it had a nice atmosphere and Nicole who served us was very pleasant and friendly.The food was excellent and had an option for my mother who is vegetarian,something that has been recently added.This place is definitely a place I will return on my next visit and I would really recommend it if your passing through Killeel or staying in the Mournes.

We travelled from Jerrettspass for this restaurant and were very apprehensive about a restaurant beside a butchers. How wrong were we. The service was among the best we’ve ever experienced. Our server was alert and attentive at all times. The food was top notch. You should be so proud Cunningham’s. A very warm venue with the best service. Life is too short to not taste the cuisine from Cunningham’s. I will be amazed if after you’ve dined here you’re disappointed Value for money top quality steak. I cannot find fault with anything

Called in with 3 friends on a very cold Saturday morning, we were shown to our table beside a wood burning stove by a very pleasant waitress. Our order was taken quickly and the food which was excellent and good value for money came just as quick.All in all first class and one to return too

Popped in after trip to Asda.Ordered the calamari starter.A soup type bowl arrived with rocket on bottom topped with very small bite sized squid with aoili dressing.Just lacked wow factor. Perhaps a bit of colour with some tomato,slice of lemon,grated carrot,etc.would have lifted it. At 6.50 it's not cheap and not worth it.I ordered the fish on its own with beans and tea.The girl never said what type of fish it was but I sussed out it was haddock.The batter was almost too thin and just a little greasy. The fish was really nice.The two young females serving were attentive and sweet.My will was nearly 17 pounds. Far too dear for a single fish,pot of weak tea and squid starter. About twice the price charged in a chippy.Problem is this place is lacking identify. It's a glorified chippy come cafe.No signs telling customers free Wi Fi. Pay at till.It is clean and tidy and as there are not a good range of cheap to mid range cafes open at night.I probably will go back if only to try the chowder.But again full marks for friendly staff.

called in as we do every year. the food is amazing and i mean amazing rather large portions, but you can ask for a smaller size if you want. see you next year.

The food in Cunningham's is beautifully cooked and abundant. It's also relaxed and comfortable and the staff are very friendly. It's beautiful to visit Kilkeel and the area around it and lovely that there's such a wonderful restaurant there to stop in and have a good meal.

We had lunch in this restaurant a few times and it was outstanding every time. Food and service are to be recommended. Service is very friendly.

Had been hearing good things about Cunninghams so decided to give it a try, and was not disappointed. Decided to go for Sunday lunch and booked table for 6 in advance, and very lucky we did. Restaurant was very busy, and people waiting along with others who had to be turned away. This is a very relaxed restaurant attached to butchers, which was great for a nice casual Sunday meal. We all got Sunday lunch type meals, turkey & ham and roast beef, including smaller children's portions, along with starters. All of which were very nice. Lunch portions are large, and meat & veg very tasty. Gravy was very nice. What stood out most was the service, which was great even know they were very busy. So from the service to the surroundings to the food all top notch. We will come back. Also ice cream is highly recommended
