This is my new go to in Cardiff. Absolutely love the roast platter and always ready to supply extra gravy if you ask. The cauliflower cheese is worth the extra as a side

I went there today with my daughter and granddaughter and was disappointed. what you charge for a cream tea which was £30 pounds each person you don't get much and even though it was pretty quiet in there the service was slow.

Don't know how this place has such great reviews? Food was horrible. Went for Sunday lunch. Had to complain to get my money back. Nice venue but as I said food was literally boil in the bag veg and gravy granule gravy.

Really pleasant Sunday afternoon. We were dining at 1.45pm, as we walked in to Culley's we were greeted by a general hubbub of enjoyment and the sound of a good singer/musician. We continued and were seated by the bar. We both chose the Sunday roast at £15.50 each for a sharing platter and weren't disappointed. The platter consists of 2 Yorkshire puddings, green vegetables,(mange tout, peas and cabbage) chicken breast with stuffing, roast beef, carrots and swede and gravy.

Very nice ravioli, but for £16 I would expect a portion larger than a starter size. Service was slightly chaotic today. Seemed to be overstretched by extra tables fitted in.

Stayed at the Coal Exchanged and booked into Culley's for dinner on a Monday (21st Aug) evening. My wife's dairy allergy was handled excellently. and all the staff we dealt with were friendly. After dinner we sat at the bar for cocktails which were also excellent taste. Due to staying at the hotel we also had breakfast two mornings. Same as dinner staff we friendly and helpful towards my wife's allergy's. Only issue i had was on the second day they appeared to use a different brand of sausage and the taste wasn't as nice as the previous day.

Exemplary pre-theatre dinner. Everything cooked and served to perfection. Set within the Coal Exchange hotel that’s worth a visit even to have a drink in the bar. The building is a fine and rare example of our Welsh industrial history. Will definitely return.

I don't often leave reviews but I feel this restaurant deserves a review. What a hidden treasure at Cardiff Bay. Fabulous experience from the moment we were greeted to our table, all the staff were pleasant and cheerful. I went for the 2 course bottomless Prosecco lunch and my daughter chose the food and Cocktails. The service was fast the food was nice and they made sure my Prosecco was topped up . Very nice atmosphere in the restaurant and a added bonus of the live music 🎶. The restaurant is modern stylish but has very interesting history to it . We will definitely be returning to this place. Well done to the whole team 👏 great place I am just sorry I did not find you sooner, hope to see you again soon.

We decided to walk from Radyr to Cardiff bay on bank holiday weekend and were looking for somewhere to eat. We picked Cully's after seeing good TripAdvisor reviews, we'd never been before. The building is very well restored, It's an old bank with lots of heritage from the coal exchange. It's been renovated keeping the original features. To start we had the pate and the pea soup accompanied by a portion of the padrón peppers, all very nice. For main my wife had a roast dinner and I had the ribeye steak, both were very good, the steak and beef were clearly very good quality. The only criticism is the veg with the roast was slightly undercooked. To drink we had a Bloody Mary, passion fruit martini mocktail and a couple of glasses of house champagne, which were all very nice. To finish my wife had tea and I had what I think might be the best espresso martini I've ever had. The service was fantastic and the price was very reasonable for the quality of food and experience. We'd highly recommend.

I can't speak highly enough of this bar and restaurant. When I walked in, I was a bit anxious because it was quite loud, and I prefer quieter pubs and bars. However, the staff were super friendly, a blonde lady on shift acknowledged us (we were a group of 3) within seconds of us entering. I got the Welsh burger with chips and some Welsh cheese and crackers, which were all bloody lovely! There was a group of about 30 women spread across 2 tables and I think 2 of them were celebrating their birthday that day (15th of April) and the group of women were so friendly (unlike everyone in London where I'm from). They held my hand (literally) and wanted me to dance with them to 'Sweet Caroline'. I've never been to a bar where not only is the staff hospitable, but the customers are too, I think it's a Welsh thing as everyone I met in Wales was super friendly. I was kinda low on money because my work cut my hours, so we got our service charge removed, which I thought would annoy the staff, but the staff were totally unfazed by that, which I didn't expect. The staff were happy to give us our dessert as takeaway because we needed to catch our coach back to London in time. I have some Welsh roots and this bar just topped off the whole Wales experience for me. What a great way to conclude your visit to Wales if you're visiting!

Nice relaxed atmosphere and the building it's in is lovely. Friendly wait staff. The food however leaves a bit to be desired. To start I had the scotch egg, was very nice but not much better than what you could get at M&S or Waitrose. Main was the fish and chips, sadly everything was under seasoned and lacking a bit in the flavour department. The fish was well cooked and the batter nice though. The side of peas brought absolutely nothing to the party, they needed some mint or chili or anything to bring them alive. Chips were alright, again nothing to write home about.

Went to Culley's for Sunday lunch with family, seven of us in all. Five had the Sunday roast, two had steak including myself. my steak was really, really good but I still wish I'd gone for the roast as that was amazing! The beef was melt in your mouth and the vegetables so tasty. (The portions were generous so there was plenty left over for me to try!) . I managed the sticky toffee pudding desert which was nice, my wife had the special "flowerpot" desert that was even better...and a bit of a good surprise. If it's on, I recommended going for it. Add in fabulous service and you will not be surprised to hear we are planning a return trip with other members of the family.

My only complaints are that the soup doesn't come with bread which I usually expect, I would have liked the option to add some. The resturant was really hot during heat wave with no aircon, I'd avoid hot days in future.

Potential, but just not there yet. Stunning building and space. However the interior was freezing with even the staff complaining of been cold. Large waits between courses, with food that is on par with a decent pub fare. Not £100 for 2. £15 surcharge for the rib eye steak was ridiculous' as it was barely a 6 pound steak. Staff, when avaliable, were great, super friendly just rushed off their feet. Overall will not return to Culleys as its simply not worth the higher cost, really disappointing considering the location. Hate to to complain about the food when the staff clearly are desperate to make a good impression post lockdown. Main highlight was the couple opposite who were getting smashed on the bottomless processco while mixing it with capri suns and oasis they had brought from home, surreal experience.

Exceptional food. The chairs are all comfy too which is my number 1 issue when picking somewhere to eat due to physical disabilities. The tables are very comfy too in terms of size. The staff are brilliant. They know when to serve and when to leave you be. I think of this place as somewhere you go to celebrate something as it's that extra bit special. Comes at a price though and I do not like service charges automatically applied. Reality is we probably would have tipped more though. The menu is lean but it's cooked to order and fresh. The lamb is stunning, seriously that was a fabulous dish. I enjoyed it and was great being out with the family to celebrate their achievements on new jobs. Probably too expensive for general eating out but for a special occasion it's worth it. Cocktail prices reasonable too. Limited choice of beer / ale. Wine list large but again expensive per bottle for my tastes, I don't get any more taste from a £50 bottle than a £5 one unfortunately. I just prefer wine from Chile lol that's about all I can discern. Great place, fab atmosphere. Pictures were of coal exchange. Didn't take any in restaurant as I find that a tad rude. Very happy, staff were brilliant. Just dropped a star for me on the drinks maybe a cheap house wine and two ales on tap would be nice. There were 5 of us, we had starters, food for the table, mains and drinks £180 including £17 service charge so not bad. I'd defo go back again. Might try a Friday next time.
