Came here for work but was throughly enjoyed the food, and pleasantly surprised). We had the festive turkey option which was amazing. The Caesar salad was ok but maybe a little rich and overdressed for my liking.

We visited Aura for my birthday dinner and we left as the happiest humans on earth!! From the ambience to the food, everything was perfect, the starters were balanced and the mains had a combination of flavours that did not disappoint, but the desserts? Wow!! Shoutout to Rodri who literally went the extra mile to accommodate all our requests, you’re a star! I’d definitely recommend visiting!

Had Sunday lunch here recently. Positives - Lovely old characterful building. The food is well cooked & a generous portion. Service is good. Negatives - we were in the great hall as restaurant was being refurbished. Our table was right in front of the door so very draughty / cold. Veg all seem to be roasted. I prefer steamed / boiled as the fresh veg cuts through the rich heaviness of the rest of the Sunday lunch elements. Meal overall & Gravy wasn’t very warm.

The drinks were nice, it’s more a bar than the fine dining we expected, the bar is in the restaurant. We had bread & oil not quite enough oil for bread dipping I had goats cheese & tomato salad Not much goats cheese lots tomato, but no dressing offered, added salmon as an extra which enhanced it but it was still dry. My guest loved the crème brûlée. No decaf filter coffee available. I wasn’t comfortable sitting in a dining room where they started getting the tables ready for breakfast it was only 8:30pm & we were eating.

Not sure if the renovations are the cause, but I cannot believe the ratings this place receives. I also think there should be signage as it's hard to find out how to get into the restaurant as the normal entrance is closed. The food was essentially poor pub grub at dining prices, I really couldn't recommend to anyone.

Great service for Mother’s Day last weekend. BEST Sunday roast for miles! The lamb was absolutely amazing - perfectly tender and fat rendered down beautifully. The chicken was fantastic too! Really pleasant Sunday afternoon. We were dining at 1.45pm, as we walked in to Culley's we were greeted by a general hubbub of enjoyment and the sound of a good singer/musician. We continued and were seated by the bar. We both chose the Sunday roast at £15.50 each for a sharing platter and weren't disappointed. The platter consists of 2 Yorkshire puddings, green vegetables,(mange tout, peas and cabbage) chicken breast with stuffing, roast beef, carrots and swede and gravy.

Stayed at the Coal Exchanged and booked into Culley's for dinner on a Monday (21st Aug) evening. My wife's dairy allergy was handled excellently. and all the staff we dealt with were friendly. After dinner we sat at the bar for cocktails which were also excellent taste. Due to staying at the hotel we also had breakfast two mornings. Same as dinner staff we friendly and helpful towards my wife's allergy's. Only issue i had was on the second day they appeared to use a different brand of sausage and the taste wasn't as nice as the previous day.

We decided to walk from Radyr to Cardiff bay on bank holiday weekend and were looking for somewhere to eat. We picked Cully's after seeing good TripAdvisor reviews, we'd never been before. The building is very well restored, It's an old bank with lots of heritage from the coal exchange. It's been renovated keeping the original features. To start we had the pate and the pea soup accompanied by a portion of the padrón peppers, all very nice. For main my wife had a roast dinner and I had the ribeye steak, both were very good, the steak and beef were clearly very good quality. The only criticism is the veg with the roast was slightly undercooked. To drink we had a Bloody Mary, passion fruit martini mocktail and a couple of glasses of house champagne, which were all very nice. To finish my wife had tea and I had what I think might be the best espresso martini I've ever had. The service was fantastic and the price was very reasonable for the quality of food and experience. We'd highly recommend.

I can't speak highly enough of this bar and restaurant. When I walked in, I was a bit anxious because it was quite loud, and I prefer quieter pubs and bars. However, the staff were super friendly, a blonde lady on shift acknowledged us (we were a group of 3) within seconds of us entering. I got the Welsh burger with chips and some Welsh cheese and crackers, which were all bloody lovely! There was a group of about 30 women spread across 2 tables and I think 2 of them were celebrating their birthday that day (15th of April) and the group of women were so friendly (unlike everyone in London where I'm from). They held my hand (literally) and wanted me to dance with them to 'Sweet Caroline'. I've never been to a bar where not only is the staff hospitable, but the customers are too, I think it's a Welsh thing as everyone I met in Wales was super friendly. I was kinda low on money because my work cut my hours, so we got our service charge removed, which I thought would annoy the staff, but the staff were totally unfazed by that, which I didn't expect. The staff were happy to give us our dessert as takeaway because we needed to catch our coach back to London in time. I have some Welsh roots and this bar just topped off the whole Wales experience for me. What a great way to conclude your visit to Wales if you're visiting!

Nice relaxed atmosphere and the building it's in is lovely. Friendly wait staff. The food however leaves a bit to be desired. To start I had the scotch egg, was very nice but not much better than what you could get at M&S or Waitrose. Main was the fish and chips, sadly everything was under seasoned and lacking a bit in the flavour department. The fish was well cooked and the batter nice though. The side of peas brought absolutely nothing to the party, they needed some mint or chili or anything to bring them alive. Chips were alright, again nothing to write home about.

Five had the Sunday roast, two had steak including myself. my steak was really, really good but I still wish I'd gone for the roast as that was amazing! The beef was melt in your mouth and the vegetables so tasty. (The portions were generous so there was plenty left over for me to try!) . I managed the sticky toffee pudding desert which was nice, my wife had the special "flowerpot" desert that was even better...and a bit of a good surprise. If it's on, I recommended going for it. Potential, but just not there yet. Stunning building and space. However the interior was freezing with even the staff complaining of been cold. Large waits between courses, with food that is on par with a decent pub fare. Not £100 for 2. £15 surcharge for the rib eye steak was ridiculous' as it was barely a 6 pound steak. Staff, when avaliable, were great, super friendly just rushed off their feet. Overall will not return to Culleys as its simply not worth the higher cost, really disappointing considering the location. Hate to to complain about the food when the staff clearly are desperate to make a good impression post lockdown. Main highlight was the couple opposite who were getting smashed on the bottomless processco while mixing it with capri suns and oasis they had brought from home, surreal experience.

Exceptional food. The chairs are all comfy too which is my number 1 issue when picking somewhere to eat due to physical disabilities. The tables are very comfy too in terms of size. The staff are brilliant. They know when to serve and when to leave you be. I think of this place as somewhere you go to celebrate something as it's that extra bit special. Comes at a price though and I do not like service charges automatically applied. Reality is we probably would have tipped more though. The menu is lean but it's cooked to order and fresh. The lamb is stunning, seriously that was a fabulous dish. I enjoyed it and was great being out with the family to celebrate their achievements on new jobs. Probably too expensive for general eating out but for a special occasion it's worth it. Cocktail prices reasonable too. Limited choice of beer / ale. Wine list large but again expensive per bottle for my tastes, I don't get any more taste from a £50 bottle than a £5 one unfortunately. I just prefer wine from Chile lol that's about all I can discern. Great place, fab atmosphere. Pictures were of coal exchange. Didn't take any in restaurant as I find that a tad rude. Very happy, staff were brilliant. Just dropped a star for me on the drinks maybe a cheap house wine and two ales on tap would be nice. There were 5 of us, we had starters, food for the table, mains and drinks £180 including £17 service charge so not bad. I'd defo go back again. Might try a Friday next time.

Booked the venue for 3pm and arrived 5 minutes prior to, short wait to be seated, no issues. Drinks order was taken pretty much straight away and we were then asked 3 times in 5 minutes by 3 different servers. Food ordered, arrived as per standard Mowgli experience - no pattern, just when the food was ready. Lamb chops @ £13.95 were poor. Overcooked, fatty and cold. Not great. Cheese toast arrived cold. Agra chicken and sticky chicken both excellent. No offer from the waitress over additional drinks. One drink was served and that is all we were getting. Plates were being taken whilst we were eating, they couldn’t wait to clear the table for the next guests. Bill came, two options: 1. With service charge 2: without service charge added. Advised that we would like option 2 as the service was poor. Paid the bill, no thank you at the end which is most disappointing. Not even offered to have our ‘loyalty card’ stamped. We were in and out within 60 minutes. All told and with a balanced view 3 out of 5 and in no hurry to return.
