What to say about the Junction...good food, service location. The ambience though? Great if you're a local. Otherwise it's like being almost politely tolerated in a private club. Why? Victim of their success. No competition and most tables booked by 10.30. Because they can. Shame. Didn't used to feel like that.

I’ve been visiting the Junction Cafe since 2015. I’d booked a table for a light lunch with my wife (recommended to avoid any wait/disappointment). Super warm welcome from Joe and David. Food and coffee was excellent 👍 … A shout out to Ivan in the kitchen. A selection of takeaway cakes for afternoon coffee with friends, who all commented on how super yummy 😋 they were…👍

My friend came pre lockdown and loved and we visited today after a castle semple walk. The service is very chaotic. It was busy but not so busy that it should have been so chaos. We eventually got table but lots of waiting to order coffee. We had also picked bread and rolls to take away. Coffee came quick once we ordered and was ok.....pleasant enough but not such a good cup that we would rush back. Got busy with take away which seemed to be priorty when waiting to pay!

We were passing through Lochwinnoch recently and stopped at this little cafe/bistro. The recommendations on Tripadvisor are well deserved. Good old fashioned homemade soup with lovely garlic bread went down a treat and we squeezed down a slice of cake afterwards. All washed down with good coffee. We would go again. Not sure of the opening hours and if it is open in the evening. We passed late afternoon when I think the kitchen was running down but they had a good lunch menu still displayed which sounded great. Take this place in if you are in the area. Lovely staff.

There is a small deli counter that sell fresh cheeses & cold meat and also a selection of delicious hind made cakes. Staff were lovely & I will definately return.

The Junction has been going now for a few years and I have visited a few times previously. The restaurant cafe is always busy, servicing freshly made sandwiches using qualitymainly local cheeses and meats. There is a deli counter and chiller cabinets selling quality delicatescent foods such as Salmon Pate and Orkney and Arran cheeses. The menu has freshly made sandwiches including ciabatta bread, also toasted if required. The fresh salad selection also looked wonderful and there was a fantastic daily dishes on the backboards on the wall.We only waited a few minutes on this visit for the 6 of us to be seated and the place was heaving and obviously a very popular destination for lunch, coffee and tea.The staff are all really friendly and run a great business. We really enjoyed the whole experience and are looking forward to coming back soon!We opted for a cooked breakfast and the poached eggs, thick tasty bacon and Orkney black pudding, square sausage and beans, nicely presented and very tasty. It hit the spot and is one of the best cooked breakfasts we have had for some time.

It seems somewhat extreme to describe a dinner as perfect - the staff, the setting, the arrangement, the presentation, the actual food, the coffee that was made correctly (why do so many places mess up this simple task)? But this place and dinner was as close to that as could be. I only wish we had more time to linger but, as possible future residents, we'll be working our way through the menu and spending a lot more time here. And such good value! Expensive and ultimately disappointing Edinburgh restaurants note: this is how you do it...

We have been here many times over the last few years and continue to be impressed by the quality of the food, the calming atmosphere, and the professional and caring staff members. There is an obvious passion here for good food, locally sourced and/or fair trade, and an enticing mix of Italian cuisine and Scottish baking. We bring our young children and they are always well catered for; the children's menu takes a healthy approach and provides the same focus on quality food as you would expect for adults. The babycinos with marshmallows are delightfully served, and the plentiful supply of books to browse keeps the kids happy while the grown-ups enjoy fabulous coffee.
