Cucina Cafe Bar in Lambeth

We had a wonderful supper after a visit to the London Dungeon. It is very close to County Hall, the London Eye, London Dungeon and not far from Waterloo Station. We had a pizza, spaghetti carbonara and mushroom risotto all of which were very tasty. Proper Italian food!! It was a shame that we did not have room for a pudding because the chocolate brownies were huge and looked delicious. The staff were friendly and efficient so the service was excellent. The prices were reasonable for a lovely restaurant in such a central location. I would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant and we will certainly visit again.

Très déçu par ce restaurant italien. Les pâtes au saumon étaient immangeables. La pizza faisait peur. Les steaks étaient pas très bon. L’accompagnement était pas terrible (frites sauce champignons) . Seul les burger des enfants étaient correctes mais malheureusement on était dans un restaurant italien. Seul point positif: le personnel était trempé sympathique

Helt grei mat. Vi spiste lasagne og pizza margarita. Sistnevnte hadde basilikum blandet i sausen, og smakte veldig mye av basilikum. Skittent på toalettet.

Visited as convenient for going to see the show at County Hall and the menu had some things my wife could eat. Had Olives for starters - very tasty and came quickly. Mains followed very quickly afterwards. Wife's mushroom Risotto was fairly good. My Lasagne was the worst I have ever eaten. Bland, stodgy (more pasta than anything else) and might have been made with pork although it had so little flavour I couldn't tell you. Insipid colourless 'meat' that could have been the sweepings from a butcher's floor. It arrived very quickly - clearly all microwaved. Lasagne plopped on the plate and zapped. No crispy oven top - just slop. No check in after serving. Advised Lasagne had been terrible and waiter joked we would pay double for it - no apology but did indicate it would be taken off the bill. Asked for the bill straight away and the waiter then went off to start chatting up the girls on another table and forgot about us. Asked again for the bill and it came fully charged with 13.5% service to add insult to the experience. £63 for a poor experience of 1 course (plus olives) and one small drink each. Very poor value even for London. Won't be returning. Suggest trying one of the other restaurants around.

We were happy to find a reasonably close restaurant open after we rode on the London Eye. We walked to the restaurant and chose to sit at an outside table. The service was excellent; the cuisine Italian. Although the portions were good, the food was just ok, nothing special. We had a great time talking to the waiter who was of Turkish/English descent and loved soccer. I realize now, that I had researched the restaurant prior to our trip, and might not have chosen it because of the reviews about the food. However, someone else in our group was just searching for a close by restaurant that was open.

Great service and food! We had the spaghetti carbonate, penne Pollo, chicken nuggets and lamb. Delicious! Wonderful kind people here too

Food is okay. Pasta definitely not homemade. Sauce is pretty basic. Salad had absolutely no dressing and couldn’t get servers attention to ask for some.

This is a lovley resturant we stumbled across on Friday 24th May...arrived in London that evening and needed somewhere to eat! I had lamb with mash potato, salad... other family embers ate salmon and a pasta dish...ALL TASTY and lots of flavour. Then on our way back home on Sunday we ordered a takeaway to eat back home!!! While we waited we had a complimentary coffee....ummmmm lovley! They have seating outside too and just perfect near the London eye!!! Thank-you Didn't take the name of the young man that saved us....but THANK YOU!! Will visit again!

Being in London on my own due to serious family illness this place has been a haven. Allowing me to just have coffee during evening service, ait outside and feel safe in a big city. Tonight I had dinner and it was gorgeous King prawn starter and spaghetti carbonara main.... Perfect. The head waiter is delightful. A smile for everyone that comes in and nothing is too much trouble. Tonight a party came in and one guest was celebrating his 80th birthday. The next thing you know, the lights are dimmed and he comes out with a slice of dessert with a candle to the delight of the birthday boy. This for me is what it's all about and long may it continue 💕

Table booked for 18:30, restaurant phoned to re-arrange for 19:30. Arrived on time to a que, was asked to wait outside in the freezing cold. Shown to our table around 20:00 having been given complimentary drinks. Service was terrible, incorrect dishes brought, food generally cold, table not cleared before mains arrived, asked to re-use cutlery from starters. Food was very average and expensive and the bill was incorrect. A meal to remember for all the wrong reasons

Local sencillo en Westminster donde se puede comer sin problema fuera de horario. Buenas ensaladas y pizzas. Poca selección de vinos por copas, de nivel bajo. Precio razonable para Londres. Servicio muy amable. Para una comida o cena informal.

Food was expensive but very average for what you had. The service was very poor, with the waiter basically throwing out plates on the table. Not a place I’d go out my way to go back to.

We were staying at the hotel across the street and decided to grab a quick pizza to go for dinner from here, and really enjoyed it! All the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Very good pasta dishes salmon linguine and carbonara. Perfect coffee and brilliant service by our waiter Habib. Will definitely return when next at the theatre.

Asked for vegan pizza, when served, waiter wasn't sure it was vegan.. lasagne couldn't be any smaller and did not have any taste i could recognize being Italianen food

We visited this restaurant/cafe as it was directly opposite the hotel and had seemingly ok reviews. We were the only two in the restaurant and we ordered a Fanta and tap water for drinks, the porcini arancioni as a starter and the spaghetti bolognese and the ravioli for mains. The staff forgot to bring our drinks. We had to explicitly ask for them a second time when the food arrive, for which we received an eye roll from the waiter. Again, baring in mind we were the only two at the restaurant. The starter came out with the mains, instead of as a starter, and it was the blandest thing we have tasted. There was barely any mozzarella and no mushroom taste. It effectively tasted of risotto rice and breading. It is not worth your £9. The mains were nothing to write home about and they appeared to be generic pre-prepared food. We were asked how the food was and we told the staff member that the starter was particularly bad. He mumbled a fair amount and then walked away. When they brought the receipt it was placed in front of me in a folder that covered the service charge. I was so desperate to leave I paid the bill, but instantly regretted on not having the service charge of 13.5% removed. If you are looking for quality Italian food with waiting staff who are able to wait a table, do not attend this restaurant. At best this was a £20 meal in total, paid £61.12.

Guys, if you do not know how to cook italian cuisine, stick to fish and chips and pies. The margarita was not edible. Cheese was like plastic. My son loves margerita and this was by far the worst he ever had. I had a pizza with mozzarella di bufala....which was stone cold frozen. That is supposed to melt!. Wife and daughter had risotto mushrooms. Not edible.

The spaghetti bolognese was absolutely delicious! Service was great and the server was very attentive and helpful! Enjoy!

Wir haben eine freundliche Bedienung gehabt. Dies reicht aber nicht, um den dauerhaft zu kalten Gastraum zu kompensieren. Es zog ständig, da die Tür regelmäßig auf und zu ging. Das Essen selbst war ok. Ich hatte eine Lasagne, die etwa 5 Minuten nachdem meine Begleitung ihr Essen bekam, fertig war. Dazu gab es einen frischen Salat…jedoch ohne jegliches Dressing. Die Herren-Toilette machte keinen sauberen Eindruck. Alles in allem ein überteuertes Restaurant, welches keinen Charme von „…di Mamma“ hat.

Just visited this restaurant, (I use the term restaurant VERY loosely), for dinner with my husband, & wished we hadn’t bothered. We were seated on a table without any space between us & the other tables. The menus were filthy & sticky, as were the carpets. Our food arrived within 7 minutes of ordering & my husband said he’s had nicer spag Bol out of a tin! There were filthy plates piled on a table next to the dumb waiter which was in constant use with food orders being sent down in it for waiting customers, & then filthy plates put back in it being sent back to the kitchen! The price was also ridiculous for what we had, & then a 13.5% service charge was added on top for the privilege! I did actually feel sorry for the waiting staff as they did apologise at least twice for the amount of people that were packed into the place. I would give this place a wide berth if considering visiting as there are a lot more nicer, cleaner places to eat only a short walk away.

Fantastic spot right next to the London Eye. Fantastic and friendly service. Our 2nd visit and will go back. The margherita was not on the kids menu but they made one up for my son no problem.

We were on a work coach trip to see Witness for the prosecution . Had been dropped off by the Eye and just wandered towards the theatre looking for something to eat. This place caught our eye suited everyone so we went in. We all loved it. 6 of us in total. Can highly recommend the pizza and the salmon. Service was wonderful, chatty staff who really knew the menu and were very engaging as well as quick without feeling rushed. They even split the bill for us. It is only a minute’s walk from the theatre so really convenient.

Friendly manager, very smiley and eager. Food was quick to arriva and good portion sizes. I liked everythi g about yhe place, would be happy to go again.

Booked a table as we were attending an event and staying nearby. Good location and friendly service and lots of families visiting. A basic restaurant and, having visited, not convinced there was much 'Italian' about it. Food was ok though my lasagne seemed 'mushy'. Meals expensive for the quality of them but this was in a tourist area. Although we'd booked in advance (& received several texts confirming that) we were never asked about our booking (though I tried to tell them) so kept getting reminder texts for hours afterwards, which was annoying.

Shockingly poor, Rude staff, terrible seating. The food is terrible slop. Pizza was basically tomato soup on soggy bread. The prawns were sloppy mush and the chicken in the pasta was full of gristle. Wouldn’t eat here again if you paid me Nothing Italian about this restaurant at all.

Tahmid gave us and excelent service! So kind and attentive, the chicken in my Penne Al pollo was a little bit dry, but the flavor was delicious!!!

Friend chose this for the vegan options and was later informed the vegan dressing wasn't available. I also have to note this was the most expensive menu on the street - terrible value. Would recommend using the kids menu as the portion sizes were huge.

Opposite Premier Inn County Hall Belvedere Rd. What a lovely restaurant, great food and friendly staff. I was there 28 th June. I did tripadvisor before I arrived. Thank you reviewers you are right it was a lovely meal and naughty dessert ( homemade tiramisu). I had Ravioli beautiful. 10/10. Staff helpful and polite.

Just had a lovely evening meal here with my husband and two children. The food was superb, the customer service was brilliant and everyone was great, especially with the children. Arianna, our server was friendly and attentive, and we simply couldn't fault. Would highly recommend.I see some reviews have criticised because the restaurant offers burgers and what children would normally eat, but I think they want to cater for everyone. If you choose any dish it would be superb, but the pasta dishes were great, the pizza looked delicious and the Tiramisu was divine. Many thanks for a lovely meal and service❤️

We would like to send our appreciation to the Chef.We had Spaghetti Carbonara, Linguine di Gamberetti piccanti and Pizza Quatro Stagioni. Everything was beautiful presented with a wonderful taste. The service was exquisite in a very friendly manner. The bearded waiter in a red shirt was well experienced.Thank you for the experience La Cucina.

The family had been in central London all day and wanted something good to eat. We crossed Westminster Bridge and looked out this Italian restaurant. Two of us had calzone, one margherita pizza, one chicken, one vegetariana but I had the mixed seafood stew. Mine was excellent - shame that I didn't take a photo or the recipe. The others liked their meals too!Definitely recommended!

Being in London we had expectations from previous reviews on here. Not the case. Brightly lit very limited service (no refresh your drink prompts, surely a restaurant's way of encouraging extra spending. Customer service was very mediocre. . We felt the Italian based cuisine was let down by the "burger and chips" menu items. If advertised as "the cuisine (or kitchen) of mother" then have the passion to deliver it. Sorry but was not overly impressed.

Absolutely delightful. Calamari, Pizza Margherita, Spaghetti Bolognese all perfect. Service was great. Delightful evening.

Went for a meal on a weekday evening, arrived to a near empty restaurant & promptly seated, sat for around 10 minutes before the waiter took our drinks orders & to my dismay informed me there was no Italian beer available so not a gd start, another 10 minutes went by before the drinks arrived & food order was taken, when starters arrived one was missing but by this time I couldn’t be bothered to say anything but as our glasses were empty by now nobody asked if we required any refills, mains rocked up & to be fair our food was very good but no one came over to ask if everything was ok, finishing and trying to get anybody’s attention was hard work, & 12.5% service charge was a kick in the scrotum ! To finalise good food, shocking service.

We intended to go to another restaurant and walked past and smelt this restaurant and had a look it didn’t disappoint the staff were friendly especially Arjana the food was also great i recommend

Booked online in advance. It was a stones throw away from our hotel pretty much opposite the London Eye. Lovely small restaurant and friendly staff. Food was very reasonably priced for London. We both enjoyed everything we ordered and it was all a good size, we stayed for a couple of hours just chatting. It did start to fill up and get busy so booking is definitely recommended. We would both visit again.

We came across this restaurant whilst on the way to a Thames River Boat ride. We hadn’t booked & they very kindly set up 3 large tables (we were 3 families) for us outside at our request. We explained we only had an hour until our experience time & our orders were taken and served really quickly & the food was delicious. Excellent service, thank you.

We stayed at the Premier Inn County Hall and this restaurant is directly across from the hotel.It turned out to be a lovely little find - in fact we ate there twice in the four nights we were there!!The food was good and not overly expensive.We were well looked after by Ali, Polash and Nicoletta :)

We were staying at the nearby Park Plaza hotel and were looking for somewhere to eat. We tried this place on the off chance. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The home cooked food was absolutely delicious and the portions were very generous. In fact it was so nice we decided to go there again the next night.

A cozy little Italian in walking distance of the London Eye. Visited this little place as we have a half marathon the next day and down for that and a little city break.Food was excellent. Great value for money and generous portion sizes. Great efficient service as well. Will return next time we are in London

We were staying at a Premier Inn opposite and they couldn't fit us in for dinner (not booked ahead) so went across the road as getting late and had children with us. Can't believe we got so lucky! Everyone was so friendly and helpful, service was fab and the food was amazing. Generous sized portions (the kids could easily have shared!) We were last to leave but they didn't rush us at all and we felt really comfortable. We will 100% be returning on our next trip to London.

My sister know this place for many years, I been there for the first time and I really enjoy everything, lovely and well made food, we had calamari, bruschetta, carbonara and seafood stew all very tasty. The waiter Mr. Ali make us feel home and treated us and our kids very well. Super choice!

we tried this place out on 19/6/21 and was very impressed in the welcome , the service and the food right from the start we were made to feel very welcome and sat outside to have dinner there was a great atmosphere and it was clear the food was made fresh to order , although there was no real long wait even though it was quite busythe staff were very attentive and nothing seemed to be a problem for them due to this we returned for a second visit during our week long stay in london and were impressed again I would recomend eating here rather than the other italian further down the road

We visited for Sunday lunch, and the food was fantastic! We had the steak, risotto and pizza. The portion sizes were large, and all were superb. Staff were very friendly. Would go back again

We had such a lovely meal at Lu Cucina di Mamma on Saturday night. The portions were LARGE, both of us couldn’t finish our meals. We both had pasta, so tasty, they were delicious and the service was great, Ali was a lovely host. We’re coming back to London in the summer and will definitely come back here for a meal. Thank you.

We visited for a late lunch. My husband had the rib eye that should have come with peppercorn sauce but they changed it to mushroom sauce, which hubby said was the best he ever had. Steak was cooked perfectly. A big plate was polished off. I had the spaghetti bolognese which was also very tasty. Ali was very friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. Would thoroughly recommend this place. Will be visiting again when down this way

The food was very tasteless, me, my partner and his son all left unimpressed and felt cheated out of money for what we were served. The only thing italian about this place is the name.

Excellent food. I had the Rissotto Alla Pescatora which I swear you would find diificult to have more delicious in Italy itself. Chef keeps to traditional recipes with a truely authentic taste of Italy. Restaurant warm and friendly - our servers Ali and Arianna were great hosts. Lovely atmosphere and decor. Highly recommended....great location on the South bank.

In London for a few weeks for a medical situation and visited La Cucina do Mamma ,the hospitality and service was outstanding. Food was amazing.

Sat outside and their was an unusual not very pleasant smell. My 11 year old grandson went to the toilet and came back saying they were not very nice and not particularly clean. That made our minds up and we left before ordering.

We were staying at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge and this place is 5 mins from the hotel (as long as your Map directions don’t take you over the bridge first ) We were looked after by Ali who could not do enough for us, altered the menu to suit, turned the music up loud (we were they only ones in) and changed the music when requested, what a lovely man. The food was outstanding thanks to chef Hussain. This is truly a wonderful restaurant that seems tucked away and needs putting on the map of affordable, delightful places to come and enjoy delicious food.

Fresh, tasty and outstanding! Just had a spaghetti carbonara and a garlic bread with cheese and wow - completely the best one I’ve ever had! The bacon was absolutely beautifully cooked and flavoursome too! The new waitress only started tonight and was completely professional given it was her first shift. Best of luck and wait to return with my family after lockdown for a full slap up beautiful Italian meal. Don’t pass by this hidden gem.

Visited here on Wednesday evening. Good social distancing in place. Service was very good and friendly. Food was very good and portion sizes excellent. Would highly recommend. We had the garlic bread to start which was huge, the calamari , arancini balls and bruschetta followed by spaghetti , pizza and ravioli all were delicious and filling no room for desserts!

This is a lovely little restaurant. It is small and quaint with a lovely atmosphere. The food was served quickly and it was delicious. The waiting staff were friendly and very helpful with anything you needed. I couldn't fault it and woukd highly recommend making a visit

Muy buen restaurante italiano en el corazón de Waterloo, justo al lado del London Eye. La comida es deliciosa, el restaurante en sí está bien distribuido, limpio y tiene un ambiente muy cálido y acogedor. El personal es atento, cortés y muy educado. I was hopeful and excited about Our visit to Lucia during a day trip to London. Unfortunately, the food was not the best. Ordered my go-to Calamari to start which came very quickly along with my boyfriend's starter. However, Tasted rubbery Which was accompanied by a very sour sauce. With the disappointment of our starters, we were hoping for our Mains to be better, but this was not the case. The steak was ok and My partner did not enjoy his Main. The only plus was having a lovely Female waitress who was attentive And warm.

We ate here twice this week as part of a staycation in London.First night they managed to fit 7 of us in at 8pm with no booking and then we booked for the following night we were that impressed.Bit surprised by the latest reviews as they couldnt be anymore different to our experience. Firstly the staff were very lovely. Both nights a manager checked everything went well during and after our meal and the serving staff were very attentive. They spoke to the children and were very friendly.Secondly the food was amazing and plentiful! The meat lasagne in particular was delicious and the childrens meals were very big!My only feedback would be to introduce a slightly smaller option on desserts for children as they all struggled with the adult sized ones.Overall we loved this restaurant and will return when we visit that part of London again!

I suspect the restaurant feels as though it doesnt need to make quality food as its across the street from a hotel and is in the centre of london, people will come and go. Dont go,the food and service were terribe.

We decided to eat here last night as part of the government eat out to help our scheme. The food itself wasn’t too bad at all apart from a rather fatty steak but unfortunately the 12.5% service charge that was automatically added to the bill was a bitter pill to swallow. Apart from taking an order and bringing it over, there was no attentive service. We didn’t get asked if the meal was ok or whether we would like another drink. In fact, when the server came to our table, their mask wasn’t even covering their nose which made me feel quite uncomfortable beside them. To add insult to injury we were then also sent over a separate bill for one beer (which wasn’t included in the half price offer) and this also had a 12.5% service charge added which was 78p extra on an already expensive beer. The beer came on the same tray as the other drinks so there was no additional service to warrant an extra 78p. When we explained that we were happy to leave a tip but didn’t think it warranted the 12.5% the server argued with us that it was obligatory even though it said that it was discretionary on the bill. Unfortunately, for these reasons we wouldn’t return for an average meal. I felt that we could get much better service elsewhere.

With great reviews I was expecting much better, basically it was crap. I started my meal with calamari, as soon as it was given to me, I knew instantly it was frozen calamari, (each piece was identical), it was tasteless and fried too much.i then had a £15 pound carbonara, let me tell you this...I have had microwaved pasta better than this. Really disappointed after ordering such an expensive meal, I ordered a hot brownie, when it came it was cold, tasteless and also very clearly reheated. Never coming back again.

We ate here 2x while in London. The food was hot when we were served and it tasted perfect. The hosts were friendly and gave us great service.

Right opposite our hotel in London so a good choice on our first night. Served really quickly by a lovely friendly waitress. Food was good and plentiful. Restaurant was busy so had a nice vibrant feel. I had the lamb chops with mashed potato very tasty but the lamb was quite tough. My husband had the carbonara which he said was 'ok'. Our granddaughter loved her fish fingers and the chocolate brownie even more. Not too expensive and would visit again as we were made to feel so welcome.

Was keen to go back, as visited some years ago with a memory of good food. Well starter and main served and meal finished in 40 mins, really keen to get you in and out. the lamb shank sat on potatoes with thick lumpy gravy - is to be avoided. Pasta in a tomato sauce with chicken, most of the chicken was not breast meat and the sauce was well "strange" - I can only describe the mains as microwave standard food and will not be visiting again.

Visiting London with family I was keen to return La Cuccina Di Mamma as we had a lovely meal here a few years ago. This visit didn’t disappoint! Service was good, food was fantastic and our waitress was lovely... friendly, attentive and made a fuss of the children. Had we not made a reservation for our 2nd night elsewhere we’d have eaten here again! Will definitely return.

Food was fine, nothing special but not awful either. Overpriced for Italian food, you can get better pizzas in other local restaurants for a lot less. The service was shocking! My food was taken away with my next mouthful still on the fork (not an exaggeration). My half full glass of drink was also taken away. To add insult to injury, they slapped a 12.5% service charge on top! I’ve experienced better service at Dominos! A shame because the decor in the restaurant was lovely. They will need to up their game if they want to last in today’s market!

Han cambiado los dueños y el nombre, pero han conservado la tipologia de restaurante italiano. Comida correcta, sin ser nada extraordinario. Servicio rápido y amable, precios razonables para la zona.

Went for a meal after the theatre and was welcoming and friendly. Delicious food and personal service also friendly service. Ali, was very attentive as was the bar woman. Went the next night for my birthday meal and they made it extremely special, thanks to Ali. Won’t ever forget it. Thank you SO much again !!
