Lovely food, service and just quite simply a really nice time. Will definitely be back.

Have eaten here on several visits to North Berwick, never been disappointed. It’s a “Scottish Italian” and doesn’t pretend to be otherwise, but the food is really very good. And the service is friendly and welcoming. North Berwick is a beautiful place to visit but a nighttime hotspot it ain’t!! Places tend to shut down early (not uncommon to hear “ sorry the kitchen is closed” at 8pm) but here we were served wine for a while after our meal. Well worth a visit.

Lovely little place that managed to squeeze us in even though we didn't book. Food and service were excellant.

We have eaten in Cucina Amore several times and rate it highly. Staff are always welcoming and helpful. What you are getting here is properly prepared food, prepared by people who know what cooking is. A place like this helps you avoid the dullness of the restaurant chain and offers you a quality experience at a reasonable price. We will be back and would not hesitate to recommend a place like this to anyone who enjoys a quality meal. James & Pamela Getty

The older waitress was unwelcoming ! What a shame! It was our favourite place to eat at in the east! You don’t treat customers like that!

This place is the best in north Berwick for Italian foods,lovely staff yummy desserts nice seating big menu I highly recommend this restaurant, apart by from once I’m I came from Sunderland to north Berwick for this restaurant and it was closed.

We're not local but we often stay at the caravan site in Dirleton and we've been coming to Cucina Amore for years. The food is always delicious and the staff are just wonderful. My husband is adamant they serve "the best mussels in the world" and he orders that as a starter every single time.

Lovely food excellent service and friendly staff. Came here last year when on holiday and returned this year. Food every bit as good as we remembered. We will return and would definitely recommend.

The restaurant was beautiful, an Italian restaurant. The husband and wife working there were very nice. I ordered a dish Risotto Al Funghi Porcini , it's amazing like it 10/10

Delicious pasta but portion too small and plate to small for a main course Had carbonara take way before which was a good portion and well prepared.

The penne arrabbiata was good but it was kinda spicy and they offered to make us another one less spicy which was so considerate of them,the service was excellent and the staff were super kind and welcoming

We went to this restaurant based upon Trip Advisor reviews. ( it’s number 2 on Trip Advisor). It was a Saturday and whilst the other restaurants were busy in North Berwick , this one was not. In the 2full hours we stayed, there were only 3 tables of couples in . Our starter was decent and the basalmic glazed focaccia was fresh and lovely. However both our main courses were awful. With a price tag of over £70 for lunch, a starter, main and drinks, we would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, and are perplexed on the rating it has recieved on TA. Both our mains were overcooked, as if the food had been sitting out for hours. The risotto was a gray colour and incredibly oily. The prawn dish ; the pasta had absorbed its sauce, as I say as if it had been sitting out. Both dishes were tasteless - you could not taste any of the individual components of the dish::: it had all blurred into this one taste. It was our first time there, and we won’t be back. Perhaps they have better dishes in the form of pizza or meat, but stay clear of pasta and risotto. Very poor. Clearly the locals know to avoid this place.

Lovely food in a friendly atmosphere and the service was excellent.

Not our first visit here, and it certainly won't be our last! We booked in for a birthday meal and thoroughly enjoyed the experience from start to finish. From the warm welcome we received on arrival to the kind words as we left, it was a complete pleasure and nothing was too much trouble. I had the special Cucina Amore pizza and my wife had lamb chops in a lovely red wine sauce. Both were delicious. Make sure and leave room for the Tiramisu if having sweet - it was extra special, as was the crème brûlée. Just to add, I was looking at the other recent reviews prior to our visit, and noted that most people couldn't speak highly enough about the place - except for one who seemed to have the complete opposite opinion. Whilst everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I disregarded that one - as apparently, for various reasons that I will not go into, it was not a true reflection of the place.

Terrible meal and we were treated with utter contempt by staff when we had to return a meal which was wholly inedible. We even had to pay for a substitute! One member of our party was ill all night following this horrible experience. The price for the 'special' was never a reflection of its actual worth. Hugely disappointed ☹️

Came here pre lockdown and it hasn't changed, still good food, lovely service and would highly recommend .

This should be a really nice restaurant but avoid the xmas period. There is no working website and no obvious menu. When we booked for new year we were not told it was a 'fixed menu'. The fixed menu was bizarre and eye wateringly expensive. We and others left because of this and the restaurant was essentially empty. No pizza, no pasta and no childrens menu. The squid starter is normally £9 but for new year it was £13.50. Main courses were £30-40 compared to the more normal £10-15 on a typical night.

Great food and wine and good service

Had a wonderful meal. Pizza and lasagne were excellent, the service was really nice and relaxed, we'll be happy to come back.

We checked the reviews before booking. Wise move, the food was superb, fast service. The mushroom risotto was one of the best that we have tasted. Highly recommend, you must book a table if you're visiting North Berwick!

Me my husband and 2 friends were in North Berwick for 2 nights we visited this wonderful restaurant both nights .Amelia and Franco wr a delight and couldn't be more welcoming there food and hospitality is amazing

We enjoyed an excellent meal at Cucina Amore. The service was great, the menu had a super range of choices and the food was absolutely delicious. When the owner realised that we were celebrating my parents' Golden Wedding anniversary, she arranged for a special celebration surprise for them. It was so thoughtful and was the perfect ending to our wonderful meal. Thank you!

I had the vegetable lasagne but sadly couldn't find any vegetables although it tasted nice enough. My partner said his pasta was really nice tho. Service was OK.

While the atmosphere and service were exceptional, I must admit that the food left me with mixed feelings. While some dishes were good , others fell short of expectations (frozen over cooked calamari) The menu offered a variety of traditional Italian Option, including antipasti, pasta, pizzas, and main courses.

Excellent food and friendly staff, service was also excellent don't take the 3 star rating for atmosphere too seriously as we went for late lunch and the restaurant was very quiet, wouldn't hesitate to go back 😀

Lovely staff and wonderful food. My wife and I weren't very hungry so we shared a pizza and a salad. When it arrived we had half the pizza and two plates for us. We'd thought we'd have to ask for another plate and sort it out ourselves.

Always a warm welcome by Amelia and family. Good range of Italian dishes well cooked. Not overly expensive.

Great food and service, definitely worth visiting

Great service, excellent dishes, totally recommend! We saw some local people leaving the restaurant happily and decided to try. We shared scallop starter and had penne amatriciana and king prawn spaghetti. Specials were tempting too. For dessert: Tiramisu and creme brûlée were both well made, which was a great way to finish the dining experience. Definitely will come back next time we are in the town :)

Walked in. Totally accommodated us. Caprese salad and Calamari were amazing. We split the Carbonara and the Lasagna Forno which filled us so perfectly. House wine which was recommended was 2 bottles good. Coffees and Zambuka topped it off. Service (Eren) was so good. So happy we picked this spot.

Tasty last minute dinner request. We had a couple of hungry boys and one wanting deep fried squid. The resteraunt stepped up and sneeked us in before the evening rush. We did not tax the menu as we needed a quick hit. Family favorites 'pasta and pizza' were ordered (side of squid). Everything was tasty and fresh. Staff were attentive and helpful. No kids menu but more than willing to kid down items on the main menu. Quick treasure hunt for gents (hidden behind a fridge!). Happy to recomend if you are in town. Only a four star for the price which was around £14 for an adult 🍝 bolognese. Personal observation from visiting many Italian resteraunts is this is a little high for a family favorite. The dining experience is very good so as long as you are happy paying it's perfectly acceptable. It is however a reason I'd think twice about going again. No dedicated parking. Wheelchair access looks OK, disabled toilet available.

Loved it! I’ve just recently realised I have an intolerance to gluten and I was having difficulty choosing something that was suitable without making a fuss. The lady and gentleman (owners I think) that served us were amazing, they offered different options for me and I decided on the chicken and spicy tomato sauce…..well i nearly gave up on no gluten when I wanted to mop the sauce up with bread! Amazing service and amazing food. We will be back 🙌

Family run Italian restaurants are usually good and this one doesn't dissapoint. Good food, great specials, front of house run by the wife and she was very knowledgeable about the origins of the food, all locally produced. The husband running the kitchen with other staff. I had the crab in breadcrumbs with my wife plumping for the Mozzarella, for mains, I had the lamb and she had the Venison in pasta with a Tiramasu to finish off. All in all a great time was had, especially with the banter with the owners. It could be described as a wee bit expensive at £114 for 2 with a Bottle of wine and coffees to finish, but you get what you pay for as they say and we felt this was definitely a great experience and value for money.

Ate here for my partners birthday on 7/2/22. The food and service was amazing from start to finish. The item I wanted was no longer on the menu but they accommodated me anyway. All the food was delicious and piping hot and stayed warm as the plates were good and warm too which in my view makes a lot of difference. The desserts were home made and lovely. The atmosphere was very warm and welcoming and a very comfortable space to eat in. Haven't enjoyed a meal so much in a long time and thats not because we haven't eaten well. We both used to cook for a living. Will hopefully return again soon from the central belt.

Unfortunately my meal was swimming in oil, which was the biggest flavour on the plate. It didn't look good & tasted not much better. I have to say my wife enjoyed her meal so only half as bad as it could have been.

So welcoming, friendly, helped out with choices for our child as shes very fussy. Food was outstanding wine was a delight. We will be back very soon. Loved it.

Ate here on 21/22 New Year. I have to say it was absolutely delicious, on fact faultless. Prawns, Aubergine for starters Venison and Veal for mains. All was cooked to perfection and felt like a real treat before heading off to a friend's party. Just the job, I will definitely be returning.

We were here for dinner on Friday night. We had booked, although were surprised to find it quite quiet. Despite this we were seated at the table between the kitchen door and a toilet and opposite the staff area at the bar. It was probably the worst table in the place. The welcome wasn’t the friendliest to be honest, so we weren’t filled with optimism. However, the food was excellent. We were advised of the specials board and we both chose from there. Venison tagliatelle, and a delicious pumpkin ravioli with Gorgonzola sauce. We shared a rosemary focaccia and a tomato and red onion salad. Everything was delicious, after an iffy start, I was very impressed. I’d probably return if I was in the area as the food was worth it, despite the table and the lukewarm service.

Lovely meal at lunchtime. Very nice and welcoming host. Just a shame that on that wet and windy day there were no other diners. Will definitely be back.

Called here on a Monday on the off chance they could seat us and they did. So lucky as it was a wonderful meal ! Delicious scallops, prawns , lobster and venison . Staff were excellent too. Well worth a visit

Much the same thoughts as recent reviews, maybe not `overpriced` but more not value for money, I reckon by about 25% based on what I ate and saw served to others.I had `home made pate`, it was very cold in the centre and lacked flavour, might have been home made and then home frozen but just not great.My main was a breaded chicken breast with spaghetti in tomato sauce, again no flavour to the chicken with the too perfect shape and too perfect ruskolene crumb coating.On the plus side the mussels starter was excellent, pizzas good though not too generous with the toppings.

Despite being advertised as being open, they were not, which is why they did not answer the phone for 2 days.

Had a beautiful meal here on Friday Night for my Birthday food was Excellent and Service was 1st class.Was made to feel so welcome from the minute I arrived to the minute I left . I am sure the couples either side of me thought I was a regular eater here. I have only ate here twice before and many years ago. Staff were making me feel so. special even came out with a treat at the end for me with ice cream and a flame thrower candle and got the whole restaurant sing happy birthday. Defo recommend for food and the 1st class friendly staff .

Monday evening reservation at 6,30 and only a handful of tables occupied therefore very little atmosphereService very prompt to the extent we had finished main course and dessert and left the restaurant by 7.15The food itself was very good albeit the portions were far too small and the price way over the top for a small town restaurant Out of the five restaurants we visited in our week stay in North Berwick unfortunately this is the only one to which we would not return

Disappointed with our meal. The garlic bread was dry and we couldn’t taste the garlic, some of the calamari was rubbery and overcooked, but to get only four king prawns in my main course pasta dish was diabolical! Oh, it also had one cherry tomato cut in half alongside the small portion of pasta! On complaining, I was only offered two more prawns. I don’t mind paying more for a meal if the food is top notch, but we didn’t have this experience. When it came to the bill, they charged us for a starter sized portion of the king prawn pasta rather than main, but we certainty have no desire to go there again.

Very average and very over priced food. The house wine is poor. Felt like we were doing them a favour dining there. No ambiance at all. Overall a very underwhelming dining experience and would not go back. Sorry but we wouldn’t recommend

Enjoyed a nice meal here last year, so we returned this year. Like most, if not all places in North Berwick, prices appear to have gone up, doubtless as a result of COVID restrictions earlier in the year, so not as great value as previously, but great service and nice food. Takeaways also available if you have pets.

Having visited this restaurant many times in the past for dinner and always received excellent food and service we decided to visit for lunch. On arrival the restaurant was empty, the waiter who was there did not greet us, he just asked if we had booked and we confirmed we hadn’t. He said I can give you this table which was right beside the door to the kitchen. Our experience on this occasion was totally different to the past. Pros - food excellent again so compliments to the chef. Cons - no welcome on arrival, waiter gave impression he did not want to be there or for customers to be there either, order brought out but no offer of pepper or Parmesan cheese, did not come back to ask if meal was ok, took main course plates away but did not ask if we would like dessert or coffee, asked for bill and paid but no thank you. Unfortunately if this is your standard of service although your food remains excellent we will certainly not return or recommend to others.
