It is an absolute pleasure to eat at this restaurant 😋 Proper Italian atmosphere with excellent service and happy to welcome you in with a smile. Food delicious 😋 best tiramisu had to share it

Was looking for another one, but glad we came, thought the other ones were menu restrictive. Anyway great atmosphere, great meatballs and pasta tooo much house red, enjoyed it.

Felt like everyone stared at us when we came in, which was uncomfortable. Think: saloon doors in an old western genre film. The food was okay, arrived in good time, polite service etc though the kid's meal was very uninspiring looking. Toilets are tiny but they were at least properly clean. Everything was really just okay - I wouldn't rush back but neither would I dissuade anyone from going.

We made several visits here during a recent golf trip and we found the food delicious and the staff accommodating and friendly. Pizzas, calzones, pastas, all very good. I would have preferred a little better selection of beers, but that is a small quibble.

Excellent dinner - prosciutto and melon and pasta amatriciana - very nice staff and dinner was at excellent value. Older style but very authentic - house wine was a little average but that is what you get I guess with house wine. Recommended definitely

I was humming and hawing about doing a review but I’m so so surprised theres good reviews for this place. Makes me seriously think they got the wrong restaurant. The veal was ok but oh my goodness everything else was absolutely inedible. The “calamari” was just vile - it was pure deep fried crap, tasted like old greasy oil - could have been anything. I found a hair in my ravioli, like right in the parcel itself, I got no apology but instead the Chef actually came out and accosted me trying to accuse me. I was so shocked and hate confrontation so we packed up and left. We had 2 littlies and 2 babies with us and it was just such a horrible, anxiety riddled experience. I have nothing against the waiting staff but received no apology. I even paid my bill which was £70! Veal was ok, ravioli was watery/hairy, calamari inedible (paid for my husband’s because he ate it so fair enough), kids food ok.

Us four friends thoroughly enjoyed the 3 course deal £15.95 it was freshly made and piping hot the waitress was so efficient and friendly we cant wait to return

Reasonable prices and OK food, standard UK version of Italian food Surprised that waitress mentioned that service is not included in the bill, pushing for a tip. Don't like that pushiness so left smaller tip than usual!

This restaurant never fails to deliver - friendly, hard working staff, a great atmosphere and last but not least wonderful Italian food. Ate here 3 times during our holiday and enjoyed everything we had. Pizzas are pastas are amazing and the pizza with a pasta is great for the price. The cannelloni especially was delicious as was the spaghetti bolognaise. We eat here with our autistic son, he eats a specific couple of things in restaurants and the staff are always very accommodating regarding this (we’ve been in restaurants previously who pass comment on this, here they don’t). The house red and house Rose are delicious. They do a great job and, of course, not to be confused with the Bella Italia chain, so much better. Would recommend booking.

Thought bye reading the previous good reviews that my husband and I would try a business lunch here...however never again! Very poor indeed!! The minestrone soup for starters was awful 🤮it was like watered down vegetable soup, no rich tomato base, no beans and no dark leafy green veg.. It was very watery and contained only carrots, turnip and celery and was very light orange in colour, I could have made much better myself and I am scottish lol, then came the main coarse.. Chicken pollo champagne, it consisted of less than half a small chicken fillet, a small side salad and chips.. The creamy mushroom sauce was the best thing about it.. However the portion would not have filled a mouse.. Last but not least the pudding, My husband had ice cream which he said was very nice, and I had the tiramissu which wasn't too bad but was more creamy rather than coffee based.. Anyhow I did complain about the soup as I left a full bowl, minus 2 spoonfuls, even dredging it with salt didn't even help.. The waitress asked if everything was OK and I said no the soup was awful and my husband even left half a bowl which isn't like him.. Cutting a long story short the bill came and I queried the waitress why they didn't offer some sort of discount for our complaint? Then the manageress appeared and said that's because my husband ate half of his soup and we didn't complain about the rest of our meal.. and she then replied that it was a tough job running a restaurant so we were offered no discount???? Surely this is not acceptable from a big franchise like Bella Italian??? Not a happy customer!!! I await your response 😔

Great value for money and extremely lovely staff. We came twice and it was good both time

We've been coming to North Berwick for quite a while and wanted to try this restaurant, but sadly haven't been able too as we have a dog. So we decided to try their takeaway service and so glad we did. Rang and placed an order and they said it would take about 40mins. Ordered a margherita pizza, a calzone, a cheese focaccia and a portion of chips. Arrived 5mins early and food was ready right on time. First thing that struck me was there was a special box just for the calzone! Now I've had a lot of takeaway calzones over the years and this is the first time I've had one come in a different style of pizza box. It was much taller so that it wasn't squished. The food was excellent. Everything tasted so fresh and full of flavour. The calzone was chicken and ham, with a pot of tomato/basil sauce on the side.the garlic and cheese focaccia was epic and the margherita was just great. I'm just gutted I didn't order a tiramisu. Will certainly be back very soon. Thanks

The food is delicious and plentiful. Great little Italian Ristorante. The filled pasta is wonderful with the most flavoursum king prawns ever. While eating in is a pleasure, the option of takeaway is also excellent and same fantastic quality - had some fantistic chicken in champagne and mushroom sauce, would recommend.

Been visiting this restaurant for a very long time. Started coming with my parents as a child, and have continued into adulthood with my own kids, for special occasions. This visit was particularly special as it was my Mum's 70th birthday. And as always, the food was phenomenal and the atmosphere and service were second to none. We've been all over the world, and nowhere beats this Italian food. Love it!

What a lovely place to have dinner. The ladies that served us were so lovely, the one with the blonde hair and glasses was so lovely to us and to our wee one too. The food was absolutely outstanding and was such a good price also. Will definitely be back. A must-see place to eat

Contrary to what is stated in the description on the entry for this place, it is NOT part of the national chain of the same name - it's much nicer than that. This is a traditional, family-run Italian restaurant that serves great home-cooked Italian food. The food is very tasty and good value for money. The staff were attentive without being intrusive and the service was efficient. Highly recommended.

Been going to this same family owned & run restaurant for 25+ years now and it's always been first class. They do a super value 3 course lunch with plenty options including traditional seaside breaded haddock and chips - definitely something to suit everyone. Todays visit was spoiled ever so slighly due to the fact we all ordered chicken main courses with 2 being identical Chicken Champagne and when the mains arrived my portion size of chicken Champagne was about a quarter the size of everybody else. I should have complained but didn't so it's on me. The food & service was however, fantastic as usual.

The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We had Mussels and Bruschetta to start, and extra plates were provided so we could share. We love pizza and pasta and noticed that there were set dishes of half and half. We asked if we could choose our own and, provided we were having the same, there was no problem splitting the dishes, so we had Tagliatelle Papalina and a Pizza Rusticana which were very tasty. The house red wine was delicious. The prices were extremely competitive and it's clearly very popular as it was filled to capacity. We'll definitely be back

We love this place and come here whenever we're in North Berwick. Fantastic staff, tasty food and nice atmosphere. Unfortunately i can't give 5 stars because, after many years, they still don't have anything that is dairy-free or vegan on the dessert menu. Our daughter is dairy intolerant. Surely a sorbet or vegan vanilla ice cream isn't too much to ask?!

I was there 2 years ago. I had really really good pasta carbonara there. After that I was obsessed to find other carbonaras like this from all over the Europe. Even Rome. There haven't been better one. This one here wins the title Worlds Best Carbonara For Me In 2 Years

A lovely place to go for some Italian food. The service was good and the food was excellent. Definitely somewhere we'd go to again if we are back in North Berwick.

What a wonderful restaurant. We dined on May 26 & May 28 - 11 people; The staff could not have been more accommodating and receptive to our group. Food was very good and the attention was "first class". Highly recommend.

Worstattitude from a white waitress, who doesn’t even allow a tourist to charge her phone beside a table when the customers don’t really mind at all. Is it a right customer service attitude to shout at a customer in front of everyone? Or just a racist leftover within her? God knows

A very soggy pizza so only ate the crust. When clearing the plates I said how soggy it was, which you could clearly see. An apology was made but I still paid full price for it. Not great and won't be back. Kids spaghetti Bolognese was good.

We were visiting NB and decided to try and visit Bella Italia for dinner. We turned up without a booking, but luckily they had space for us. The team are really friendly and welcoming. Quick and good service from everyone who engaged with us and they were really good with our two kids. We asked for paper for colouring in. Despite this not being something they usually do, they quickly produced a few sheets of paper and a variation of pens and pencils. The service was quick and food all served nice and hot. The food overall was good and kids loved that they could get ice cream. My Calzone was nice, but I did have to pick out a fair few bits of meat / chicken which were either fatty chicken or small bones. Thanks to the team and we would definitely recommend the restaurant for families with kids and young people.

The expectations were not so high when we entered, given the prices. We got served the calamari, that looked more like onion rings, followed by the haddock that was greasy and slimy. Far from edible. Was left on the plate and nobody checked on us till the very end. Poor food.

Fabulous ravioli with scallops and prawns after a lovely focaccia followed by profiteroles. The staff were excellent. They gave us the choice of tables since we were early and made us feel very welcome. Top marks, will be back.

Menu included entrees one typically sees at restaurants in Rome, eg Saltimbocca as well as other house made pasta such as scallop fillings. Service was attentive and accommodating, atmosphere perfect. Desserts luxurious, pricing reasonable.
