Amazing food, the tapas is lovely and fairly big portions!

Lovely food and the staff made us feel so special for our anniversary!

Had a couple of meals at Cubar and learnt a couple of things. The prices on the menu are less than what they charge you. We had a starter for £11.95 and on the bill it was £13.95. They also added a 10% tip on the bill for two diners. Besides the over charges and tips, the food was great and staff really nice.

Very tasty food! We tried crab, pork belly, sweet potatoes. Just a little bit small portion for the price.

"I would like to provide feedback for Cuabar restaurant. I must say, we had a wonderful evening with my family on Valentine's Day at the restaurant. The food had an exceptional taste and everyone enjoyed it. The live music created a romantic atmosphere, and the prices are affordable. The staff was friendly and attentive throughout our visit. I will gladly return to this place. I highly recommend it."

I arranged a joint 30th birthday and engagement party for my son, over 60 guests. The buffet food was amazing and the staff were attentive and friendly. A lovely venue and I’ll definitely recommend Cubar for events and parties to my friends.

My family and I love this place. Great selection of food. Can highly recommend the 'soft shell' crabs, gambas and the scallops 😋

Cubars Sunday dinners are sensational! Thoroughly enjoyed it! I had beef and my friend lamb! The portion size was great and the flavours were amazing! Will definitely be back, the Creme brûlée to finish on though was delicious

Celebrated a friends birthday with 5 others, service was great, food delicious. Love the fact they have a plant based menu, which is really extensive, not just the odd dish. Loved the mocktail I had. The place had a great Friday night atmosphere and was really buzzing ❤️

We had a lovely meal here. The staff were very professional but also really friendly and helpful. The menu was refreshing as there were a lot of things here I have never experienced before. It was also really nice to have a dedicated vegetarian/vegan menu for some people in our party which was very similar to the normal menu but with a vegan alternatives for the meat element. The desserts were also excellent with the churros being a highlight. The drinks were lovely and the staff couldn't do enough for us. There is a nice atmosphere here and a lovely place to visit, even for a few drinks and a couple of small plates.

Food was spot on and our waitress was fantastic. Can't wait to come back thank you.

I've had lunch here a few times with my daughters. The food is delicious but could have a little less heat/spice in the children's menu. Love the food and atmosphere....and the cocktails!

Definitely worth visiting for drinks, a good atmosphere and great service but not for food in my opinion! The camembert was really not nice and iv had many but nothing like that. It arrived open with what looked liked garlic butter melted on top. The breads basically breadsticks so hard and crunchy and when I dipped it into the camembert to give it a try the odd coloured liquid really put me off. I then ordered the lamb shoulder steak with ras el hanout rub. I expected a morrocan type spiced lamb but got minted lamb skewers. When I looked back at the menu I realised it was a part of one of the chef's larder items so was really disappointed. There is no doubt in my mind that this was the wrong lamb as all you could taste was mint! However when the staff asked the chef he tried to claim the lamb dish he served us was the one we ordered :| even the pictures show that isn't the case. Other than the food everything else was great! Cocktails are Amazing!

Overall enjoyable, will be going again to try some of the other dishes. First visit,so we had the bread board, the share board and then chorizo and Patatas bravas between two of us. Reasonable portion sizes and decent price. Good service, friendly staff, live music and a decent vibe. The food is not bad, but it’s not the best tapas I’ve had by any stretch. Would prefer more sauce with the patatas bravas and the Chorizo was overpowered by the raisins. The share board is a lot of sauces/dips over actual food, I wouldn’t order again. Not sure I’d actually recommend any of what I had if I’m honest. The menu is interesting so I would want to go back before giving a final verdict. The atmosphere is great and the Pina Coladas were decent, ultimately worth a visit.

Been here for dinner and a bottomless brunch, both times the service and food was great! All really friendly and everything was really tasty! Can’t wait to come back!

What a gem in Sandbach, great food, great service and a vibrant atmosphere.

Honestly very disappointed with Cubar compared to the last time we went. The cocktails were poorly made, the food was ok but the portions were very small considering how expensive it all was. £24 for a platter that could have easily been for 1 person - there were literally THREE olives for 4 of us! We were put on 1 small table for 4 of us so felt cramped, asked if there was another table available (which clearly was) but was awkwardly told "I'm sure it'll be fine". The service was below par which is to be expected from a few inexperienced teenagers, so I really can't see how a 10% service charge to the bill is any way justified? Was it clearly stated on the menus? Pretty incredulous. Will not be going again, unfortunately. Edit: be wary that if you leave a bad review, the owner will try to add you on all your social media. Weird behaviour Edit 2: clearly not the reason as you could have easily messaged me via email or FB without trying to add me. Regardless, I was not after any further discount or freebies, I wanted to leave this review because that's my honest experience. Maybe if you were capable of taking a little criticism now and then you'd be able to improve your business. #fragileego

This place does simply amazing tapas. Dishes arnt small either! 3 per person is good. The staff are really attentive. They also have a range of good alcoholic/non cocktails.

We had a fantastic meal today at Cubar. We dined for the bottomless brunch which was extremely good value for money! The food was delicious and we had good service from beginning to end. Thoroughly recommend.

An overpriced and totally unsatisfying experience. Miniscule, and not that exciting ,dishes. Service very good. Beer and wine very expensive. Not somewhere I will return too, nor can I recommend it to anyone. All seemed a little pretentious. The decor was quite interesting.

First visit was a great one, the staff were attentive the place is lovely with a great atmosphere, and the food is incredible.

Been twice in one week! Can’t wait to go again. Fantastic food at reasonable prices and exceptional staff a truly enjoyable experience!

This was my first time having tapas food and I was very impressed with the quality. We were seated at our table within a few minutes of arriving and were ready to order after perusing the food and drink items for ten minutes. Food arrived approx ten minutes after ordering. For couples I would recommend the bread sharer along with a couple of the butcher menu items. The calamari was excellent. Parking can be a bit tricky as spaces are quite limited. The waitresses did an excellent job for us. Would definitely come back in the future.

Excellent venue, I had my 60th Birthday party there and the food and Service was 1st Class.

Absolutely delicious food and some great Cuban drinks. At first I thought it's a little bit pricey for tapas, but the portion sizes and the quality of the food justify the price. The staff were lovely and friendly and the seating and atmosphere was spot one. Highly recommend and I will be going again.

We have been for the first time on Father’s Day. The food was delicious, decor absolutely beautiful and the service super friendly. We loved the live music by Deb Betts

I had high hopes about Cubar because it's different to my local options and because there was a Father's Day offer on, which helped. Sadly my visit didn't live up to expectation and that ruined Father's Day as we'd starved ourselves in anticipation of this delicious food. In fairness, the food is delicious and the staff are friendly but the organisation is poor. For example, not getting an extra set of hands to assist in the kitchen when one of the chefs phones in sick. You're never going to keep up with demand and so today proved. We were, in fairness, warned about the slow service beforehand but you still don't expect to wait for over an hour for 4 tapas dishes and a child's meal. I got the impression today that the staff knew they were fighting a losing battle but they didn't really care. When my daughter's food eventually arrived, it wasn't sufficiently hot so she didn't want it. The staff seemed surprised but disinterested when we fed this back to them. This ended in her tears so that put an abrupt end to the visit, to the point where we passed up on the free Father's Day dessert. I sense if everything was okay up to this point and we'd stayed, we would have probably been there so long that we'd be asked to surrender the table first. At the end of the visit, after a succession of insincere apologies and then a discussion with the manager, we were offered a derisory discount off the meal which I would have hung around to challenge if my daughter was not distressed. I should add that, despite the fact the menu promises a free kids meal with one paying adult, we were still charged for a kids meal. I only noticed this once we'd driven off. Also the atmosphere of background music, live music and a large group of revellers sullied the trip as in my party was a child sensitive to noise (this will no doubt be why she was distressed) and an adult with autism. As for myself, I'm hard of hearing so this made interacting with staff more difficult. I won't be returning any time soon. An excellent concept of a restaurant fell disappointingly flat.

Extremely pricy. Service wasn't great but it was busy, staff tip is automatically added to your bill. When we got our change some of it was in Euro.

Great ambience, and cruzcampo on tap!

The only place I've been to where I haven't got a bad thing to say at all. I took my parents for a treat today (Sunday 15th May) and we were greeted by a waitress who was incredibly polite and attentive throughout the whole time we were there, considering she was on her own too! We had a number of dishes and shared them out, as it is a Tapas style menu. Every plate of food was cooked to perfection, nothing wrong with any dish at all. I will definitely be coming back time and time again.

Overall good I read on some reviews that the portion size were big, but I thought they were small. The beef was my favourite but for £9 for 3 pieces is crazy. I'm not a massive fan of tapas but I'm sure lots of people will like this place. It's nice to have something a bit different in Sandbach.

Lovely spot for a nice meal out. We were the first day of a new menu and it was full of different dishes to the norm. Sandbach has a tendancy to stick to basic foods and it's nice to see a place like this take a good foot hold. I'll certainly be back again soon. Atmosphere wise they have it spot on, the decor and the lighting is perfect. A warm welcome when you come through the doors and a genuine service where it is obvious that the waiters and waitress knew their products properly. I think this has been lacking from so many places that we eat at, it's a simple thing make sure the people that are serving you have tasted the food. The food has some incredible flavours and some unusual offerings, we picked 7 from the menu between 2 of us and then opted for the bread platter as well as the sauces were too good to waste (and we truly were hungry) the bill came to 70 quid which was more than acceptable considering we also had two rounds of drinks. The beef cheek and the king prawns are a must, truly the flavours in the prawns, that there is next level. OK so on the critique I think the portions were unusual in size, sharing between two for instance is difficult when things come out in threes. The starter sharing platter at 17 quid was a little dissapointing as there were 5 skewers, all of which tasted nice but again were impossible to share and very dry. The bonus duck ball things which we didn't order (or get charged for) really didn't hit any mark. Potion size could potentially be adjusted or equalised as stuff like the prawns were a really good size whereas others were very much the opposite. I know it's tapas and they are meant to be tastes but it was the luck of the draw as to the sizing. My thoughts are that it is a new menu and truly I would say try it. The chef evidently knows what he is doing and the food produced is of a very good high standard. I think given a week or two all the niggles will be sorted out. Oh and push the bread! It would be a crime to waste those sauces.

Came last night for live music and tapas I’m not really sure why but I didn’t have high expectations but it was really incredible Food was amazing and at 25% off on a Thursday was great value We all really enjoyed every dish And the live music was amazing Can’t wait to come back 👌🏻

Came here with friends and we all loved it. The girl that took our order was friendly and helpful. Food was nice, but overpriced so wouldn't bother with that again. The cocktails were great. The atmosphere was brilliant and didn't feel like you were in Sandbach! Looking forward to a date night here with the hubby.

I've been here twice now. Once for food which was delicious and last night for cocktails. Their strawberry daiquiri is to die for. Both occasions staff were fantastic. And last night they had live music which was great 👍 highly recommend a visit

The food was lovely and and service was great, what was dissapointing was that we asked for a table downstairs and was given one upstairs. We booked well in advance and given to believe this was arranged. Perhaps some additional training would be helpful?

Absolutely enjoyed our meal and cocktails yesterday for a birthday get together. Staff lovely and friendly. Service excellent. Food fantastic. Don't think we'll be waiting for another birthday before we go back 😃.

4 of my friends came to Cubar to celebrate a belated birthday. We were really excited to experience the bottomless brunch & really looking forward to getting together after a horrible year with covid. The front of house was lovely and made us feel welcome but it very quickly went down hill. It took 30 mins to eventually get a drinks order which was taken out of our 90 minutes brunch time. When the food arrived I found a hair in my food which made me question the hygiene standards and my friend received chicken kebabs which were clearly bright pink and raw. The head chef Mario stormed over to the table rudely stressing the chicken was cooked in a “Cuban style” and it was pink chicken. He then angrily told us we couldn’t order anymore drinks & coughed over all our food then went on pacing around the restaurant with his bum cheeks showing & wearing no mask. When my friend questioned his attitude and asked him not to speak to her rudely as she was a paying customer his reply was “thank you” No complimentary discount or items were offered due to the awful experience we received. The front of house was very apologetic but nothing was done to rectify the issue. We were so disgusted my friend Samantha emailed the Boss who was in hospital at the time to explain how badly the experience was. We received a reply with some what of an apology but very little acknowledgment of the issue in hand. We are still waiting on an outcome of what could be done to resolve the issue!! After all we’ve paid £140 for a service that was very unacceptable. I was very reluctant to write a review but this issue hasn’t not been sorted out in a respectful, caring way so that your local customers would return and I feel now people should be aware of our experience.

Shown to table, nice atmosphere in the restaurant, lovely comfortable outdoor area, left at table for 20 minutes, no menu, no offer of drinks, no recognition we were even there. Wasn’t even busy, 4 staff all stood around the bar area. Waste of 20 minutes. A shame because the food and drinks being served to everyone else looked good. Won’t be returning, manners should be a given
