My husband and I called in to the Wergs for a couple of drinks after work. Unfortunately we left after one because the waitress was really rude and unhelpful. I suggest she finds another job which makes her happy and kind to people

Had 2 ribeye steaks, the steaks were sinewy and burnt and the chips overcooked you wouldn't give to your dog. It was tough and inedible. Got photos and reported to management.

Nice, relaxing pub with great drinks and food. Excellent for meeting friends and having lovely meals.

On arriving here last night the host didn’t greet us with a welcoming manner and couldn’t find our booking which didn’t create a good start. We ordered food, drinks and a side order of onion rings. The food arrived and we were half way through the meal and no sign of the onion rings, I spotted them sat on the hot counter, my husband had to go and fetch them himself. We ordered 4 waters to go with the wine and asked for no lemon and surprisingly they had lemon in them. We all ordered coffee and no tea spoons were served even though we asked for sugar, so we had to use the handle of our dessert spoons. Also the flat white was served in an espresso cup. The staff were all busy so we couldn’t grab their attention for help. Can honestly say even though we live around the corner and haven’t visited for a few years we will not be returning anytime soon.

We visited The Crown in Wolverhampton after reading their glowing claims of being a "premium pub, bar," with “honest pub food” and “on-point” service. Unfortunately, our experience was anything but. To begin with, the service was incredibly slow and inattentive. It felt as though we were completely forgotten about, despite there only being a handful of tables occupied. We waited over 90 minutes for our main courses, we were told that it would take 30 minutes just for cooked carrots completely baffling given how quiet the place was. To be fair, the three main meals we eventually received were nicely cooked, with the fish flaking perfectly. However, the squid starter arrived cold, and while the soup was okay, it wasn't enough to redeem the experience. The dessert was the biggest let down. The menu promised a “home-baked cookie and ice cream,” but what we received was a rock-hard, stone-cold cookie that even the kids couldn't bite into. When we raised this with a blonde manager, they were dismissive and unhelpful showing a total lack of customer service or interest and just rude. We also encountered further disinterest when asking for the bill the same blonde manager said they’d be over shortly but instead went off serving drinks behind the bar. It really felt like we didn’t “fit the criteria” of the kind of customers they care to serve. To top it off, the waiter attempted to bring desserts to a table still cluttered with dirty main course plates. For a place that markets itself as a “premium” venue, it was sorely lacking in even the most basic service standards. I wouldn’t recommend The Crown unless significant improvements are made. A nice venue alone doesn’t make for a good dining experience, service and care matter too.

This is the 2nd bottomless brunch we've been to in a month, excellent value for money, excellent food and lovely atmosphere, many thanks to Liz and her team, we will be back

A fantastic place to eat and just enjoy a drink. Service is second to none and it has a fantastic atmosphere. Lovely beer garden to sit.out and enjoy the sun .

Lovely food but had to wait quite a while between starter and main . Would have had a sweet but didn't because of the wait .

This place as gone down the pan. The new type of customers are spoiling the place. Trying to have a quiet meal and the screaming and shouting coming from the bar is horrendous. Food and service is average and the women manager doesn't have any people skills. Last time I've ever go.

LOVE it here. Great vibe, great food and great service. SHOUT OUT TO FRANKIE I’ve been twice this week and both times have received fantastic service. Thursday I was greeted by Frankie who was an absolute vibe, nothing was too much to ask and she made mine and my sisters lunch date. I came for dinner with a few work colleagues and again received excellent service and my steak was cooked perfectly. With the view of ‘even better if…’ I would love some more ‘events’ over the weekend (maybe the BH weekends?) just like the DJ that comes on a Friday (also another great night if you fancy a couple of drinks with some entertainment) Thanks again and I’ll be back soon!!

It’s such a shame as we come here regularly and have had some lovely experiences including booking out the private room for a celebration. Unfortunately today Frankie the manager was really rude and condescending to us and really belittled us making us feel unwelcome. I called ahead to check we could sit outside with the dog. Frankie the manager answered and told us no problem at all. When we arrived I went to the desk to ask if we could sit under the canopy outside with the dog and he also told us no problem. We went and sat down (there was only one other couple there) and started to place our order on the QR code. As I was about to check out Frankie came outside and asked if we had booked to sit there. I said no but that a server told us we could sit here. She said she needed to move us to another table under the canopy which was bizarre but we agreed happily and started to move our stuff. She then said actually you can’t sit under here with your dog. Both my husband and I were so confused and asked her why she had changed her mind. I then went on to say I come here frequently and was only here the weekend before. She rolled her eyes and laughed and said well I’ve been the manager here 4 years and have never seen you. My daughter is disabled which the manager would have only noticed as we started to move tables so sadly I have to conclude that she was discriminating against us due to my daughter’s disability, which is truly awful. We are so saddened by this experience. Having attended here so many times over the past couple of years we feel we are no longer welcome. It’s so shocking to see that the crown condones discrimination and allows their managers to belittle and laugh at their customers.

First time visiting here today. All our meals were very yummy. Nice relaxing atmosphere. The waitress "Liz" was so lovely. Would definitely be back again soon!

At this price point you expect alot more, and how disappointed we were after going to the Crown at Wergs last night. As soon as we walked in there was no maitre d', therefore had to wait a while at a busy bar to find out where we would be sitting, even though we had booked. After eventually finding the lady who was meant to be taking us to our table who was having a chat with other colleagues we were seated. Our waiter was pleasant and seamed to be the only person running around doing anything. However, after asking for the specials menu it took him nearly 10 minutes to find as there wernt any available and had to print more from upstairs. We ordered the Artisan bread which was nice but small and the £60 sharing steak from the specials. This came and wow how disappointed we were! Although the steak was cooked perfectly the portion of chips served with this was what could be described as a child's portion, the even smaller side of mushrooms were tasteless and well that was all that was including in the £60 special other than half a red onion and some rocket. To say we were underwhelmed and disappointed is a understatement. Due to the manager and other waiters having constant chats in the corner our service was slow and being asked if our meal is OK whilst you are taking your last bite wasnt ideal. Let's just say, we couldn't wait to get out of there and will not be returning.

A lovely pub, nice setting inside. Tend to visit here every so often and the food is always great. Went this week and had a burger and fries with halloumi as a starter and was delicious. Staff are always welcoming. Will certainly be returning in the future.

I took my staff for a meeting on a Monday the 10th of March. The restaurant was quiet, maybe 4 people eating. Our food came lukewarm and we sent it back. It came out again mildly warmer about 10 mins later, but not hot. £17 for a lukewarm burger with a small portion of lukewarm fries is a disgrace. Multiply that by 3 and I've wasted over £50 on a team meeting. I have always had the mindset that a meal in a restaurant, made by a professional chef, should be far better than I can cook at home. This was average at best and poor at worst. I've had better and hotter fast food from McDonalds, for a third of the cost. To balance things, the service was super, very attentive and polite. The setting was lovely, pleasant and not too noisy. I rang and spoke to "Jonno" who told me to write an email. A week later, no response. Poor show and I'll be dining somewhere else for the next meeting, saving £40 and getting hotter food. Style 100, substance 10.

We were a party of 10, so they allowed us to have the champagne room. Were made to feel very special and nothing was too much trouble for a server Frankie. The bottomless brunch was good value and drinks and food were fantastic. Will definitely be booking again!!!

I came to the crown over the weekend with my family and the waitress Frankie was exceptional her service was above and beyond, made me feel so comfortable and the food was exquisite.

Just been to eat at the Crown, it's actually quite sad to see how far this place has fallen....the service was terrible, we were the only ones sat down to eat in the restaurant when we arrived despite that, the waitor never came to ask if we wanted another drink, I had to go to the bar myself to order drinks...and there was no one there to serve either....because the manager and waitress were too busy having a natter in a corner....eventually the manager came and took my order and forgot to send over the water we asked for.....if you selling steaks for over £30 you would have thought they can cook them correctly, but no...we asked for medium rare and got served well done....we only went as other better local places were fully booked but we won't ever be going back, poor service, poor food....only good thing was the log fire

Absolutely gorgeous - visited the crown for my birthday and couldn’t have had a better time . We were served by the incredible Frankie and she made the experience !! On top of our incredible server was the exquisite food - we couldn’t recommend the octopus to start more ! Thank you for making my birthday one to remember!!

Our waitress Frankie is warm , friendly and very welcoming. She answered any questions we had and surprised us with a slice of cake with a candle and sang happy birthday to me. This was a very nice gesture and I would definitely visit again.

We held a baby shower at The Crown on a Sunday in their private room in February. From booking the event with Jono (Manager) to arranging the finer details to the run upto the event with Brad and Frankie, the service was fantastic! Our host for the day was Frankie and she was absolutely brilliant in ensuring that all our needs were met, including the catering for those with allergies. The food was super delicious, the vibe was on point and everyone complimented the staff, venue and facilities. A huge thank you to the staff at The Crown.

I love this place. I'm Wolverhampton born and bred, but left 25 years ago. When I come back to see family or bring friends for a night out at the theatre (shout out Grand Theatre Wolverhampton). I always book The Crown. It's among the best pubs in the country in my opinion, and the staff are absolutely top draw. A special mention to Felicity and Marina for making our dinner a lovely one, my friends who I'd invited from London were especially complimentary. Done me proud. Thanks The Crown Team.

We're were sat in the bar area to right of door, was very draughty and cold. Food was okay have been in past and food was a lot better. Pub is lovely looking and popular and think another area would have been a better area to sit

visited 3 years ago for a birthday and really enjoyed the whole experience, went there for a Sunday lunch on 02/02/2025 - the place is great has a lovely ambiance, would happily go back there again for drinks. Dining area was well laid out with plenty of room for guests. A good menu selection for the food was well presented on the plate. The meal itself was OK, pro's the portion sizes more than ample, con's - some of the food was not as warm as I would have expected, the beef although was OK for me personally was to rare for most pallets and i am aware of a number of customers who returned their food as it was not cooked enough for them. The Pork Belly although well cooked was a little to fatty so not as enjoyable as it could have been. My first dining experience at the Crown 3 years ago was a good 8 / 9 - this dining experience was a 5 / 6

Had a lovely meal here. Our waiter was lovely, well managed and deserved the generous tip we gave- however ‘manager’ or ‘receptionist’ woman was rude to us so that was a poor first impression; but was quickly made up with our waiter & delightful meal. Good children’s menu also!

Amazing food. So tasty. Enjoy the scallops as starters and fillet steak which was so tender and juicy. First visit but would definitely be returning. Lovely atmosphere and decor too. The chocolate orange martinis are fab too!! 😋

The guy that looked after us was great. 10 out of 10. Maybe Australian. The adults food was a massive let down. Kids meals were fine. Where is the premium gone. Place is in need of a coat of paint. Very disappointing. It's a vintage inn at best now.
