Crown Inn in West Lindsey

New owners only took over less than a week ago, even so everything, service and food worked well. The menu simple but tasty and friendly staff. Thursday was pizza for £10, a good selection of toppings and a large pizza. The place was very busy. Well supported by locals which is ale]ways a good sign! Would recommend

The staff were so welcoming and ensured everything was great. Fabulous customer care skills . The food was absolutely the best Thai food I have ever had . It was cooked fresh and there was a wait ….. but well worth it. I was really quite full but it was so delicious I ate so much. Definitely a return very soon to the village if my birth where my Dad and brothers frequented this place as now does my nephew. . Highly recommend try the Thai.

Avoid! We came for dinner at the weekend , food average but service shocking, the barmaid (Molly) served us with her hood up, stated she was hungover and clearly didn’t want to be there spent more time out smoking with customers than she did doing her job

Food is so reasonably priced I would call it cheap. It’s not fancy, it’s just really good well cooked food with bags of flavour. Really enjoyable like excellent home cooking.

First visit after hearing good reports about tge Thai food. We were met at tgs Bar with a friendly welcome and all 4 of our party really enjoyed the food. Tasty, hot and very reasonably priced and will not be our last visit.

We had heard the Thai food was good so went to try, we were not disappointed. Situated inside a pub with half the pub set aside for eating. The Thai food was very good, we were not disappointed. Good size portions, the Tom Yum soup was delicious as was the green curry, with a good spicy kick but not overpowering. Only comment I would make is the main plates had not been heated, but the food was served hot so the food did not go cold. Looking forward to going back.

Booked after hearing several good reviews. Booked a table, no problem. Turn up, table over there was the greeting. Menu dropped at the table. Several minutes past so went to the bar to order drinks as clearly no one was coming to ask. 25mins later decided to ask at the bar if we should order at the bar, prompting someone to take the order. As for Thai food it’s only mediocre. Certainly no wow factor. Never asked if we would like more drinks. Plates cleared after finished. Maybe don’t do desserts, never given the choice. Went to the bar paid the bill & away. Please train the staff. It would make so much difference

Went with friends for a belated birthday, and for a first experience I was delighted. We chose the set menu for 4 people. The food was plentiful, a good variety of dishes catering for all tastes, was freshly cooked and served hot, the service by all was excellent. We wasn’t rushed and had a lovely evening. I would highly recommend to anyone, they wouldn’t be disappointed, look forward to trying again. Compliments to the chef!!!

Travelled up from London for the weekend to visit friends and met up for the evening in The Crown in Messingham,what I great little pub,really busy on a sunny Friday evening,good Atmosphere friendly locals,inside was busy so we sat in the garden,they offer a good varied menu with a mixture of Thai and English dishes,I went for the traditional sausage and mash the misses opted for the Thai green curry the youngest had hot dog and chips the oldest a Massaman curry all meals were excellent Hot and very tasty the Bannana fritter is to die for,would highly recommend,staff were very attentive,service was busy so we waited a while but it was worth it,we will definitely return when we come up again.

Excellent quality food for our traditional Sunday roast, so tasty and gorgeous desert to finish off with. Great comfortable atmosphere and friendly attention. And value for money I can't see how it can be matched.

Village pub serving quality Thai food where about 20 of us descended (pre-booked) for evening dinner. I’m an avid Thai food fan and this restaurant didn’t disappoint. Five starters and then six or seven mains with two sorts of rice and even chips for the faint hearted ensured nobody went hungry. Service was excellent and the best surprise was the tiny Thai chef coming in to take the accolades - she did all the cooking apparently. Special mention to the front of house - I think she was called Laura - who was quick, efficient and chatty. If there’s any doubt about who she was, she’d one arm full of tattoos! Almost 1 hour and 30 mins for 2 courses of all you can eat Thai. When it came it was tiny portions and nowhere near as good as the reviews would have you believe. NOT worth the price. Will not be returning. I also live in the village and drink in the pub.

the food was delicious and plentiful , highly recommend. We had a takeaway instead of eating in and it was just as good as all previous meals.

Had a fantastic family lunch today at the Crown Inn in Messingham. Sunday lunch offers 2 courses traditional roast lunch for £9.95 or 2 courses from the Thai menu, also for £9.95. We chose Prawn Tom Yam soup which was a fresh & light spicy broth with plenty of veg & noodles with king prawns. Followed by a Green Chicken curry with half portion rice & half portion chips. An excellent portion of tasty curry with plenty of chicken breast. The presentation was excellent. Other family members chose roast chicken & roast beef meals which were served with both roast & mashed potatoes, stuffing, Yorkshire pudding & plenty of vegetables with a jug of gravy. With good service & a friendly waitress, we shall definitely return.

Nice pub,waitress good, food prompt,noise from loud punters,in the bar not great when eating a meal,food was ok, prefer eating thai in thai restaurant.

Lovely food Thai and English excellent service and great atmosphere I would highly recommend for a good night out. First visit but definitely not the last.

Second visit to The Crown with friends. Food was beautifully presented and tasted lovely. Attentive staff who looked after us well. When our friends said they would return we knew we had made a great choice. Will be back certainly.

We have been many times for mid week teatime meal and it has always been excellent. They do Thai and English food. Very reasonably priced and good selection with a few specials on the board.

We were in a group of 8 looking for a reasonable priced meal on the bank holiday weekend. I booked for the evening and were not disappointed! The meals were either English or Thai. The group choose a mixture of English and Thai including starters and desserts. From the outside of the pub it looks quite ordinary but be prepared to be surprised. The cook was a lovely Thai lady who came out to say hello to us all. The waitresses were very friendly and funny. It is a good job we booked as the pub filled up early in the evening. All the dishes were delightful and empty plates all round. Would visit again.

Had to write a review because the food was so damn good ! Came with a few friends . All of us had the mixed starters which was amazing but the high light was my prawn Tom yum. It’s the best I’ve ever had ! My mum is Thai and sorry mum but it was better than yours! Gave a big thumbs up to the chef then found out she is actually a friend of my mums lol x excellent food and service will defo be back to try everything on the menu x and defo recommending this place to everyone I speak too. If I could afford to eat here every night I would it was just brilliant and all my friends agree

first time visit will not be the last, had the best Asian meal ever service was great and food fantastic. This is a typical village pub with great food Prices are very competitive indeed would highly recomend
