Site the caravan in ayr quite frequently but don't always have a notion for a chippy. Did a Google search as we fancied a chippy tonight and found this gem !! Black pudding was cooked to order and was perfectly done as we're the chips and fritters. Batter was so tasty as was all of our food !! Portions were also big as well as great value!! Amy is a gem as is her traditional chippy ! It's no frills but extremely clean and just how a chippy should be. We will definitely be back as the banter and the whole food experience and quality were second to none. Thanks for having us and see you again soon !! Oh aye - was told to phone my order in if I didn't want to wait next time. Was not a long wait but the option is there if you want and the number is on the picture of the front of the shop. As a lifelong health care professional I can appreciate the work of experts . This is an excellent traditional fish and chippy and these ladies know their craft . Delightful chat while waiting for my birthday supper . Perfectly cooked haddock and chips . A gem of a place .

Two great quality fish suppers on our first visit. Cooked fresh to order in good , clean oil. Friendly service and great value. The fritters looked great too ( I should have ordered some 😔) I'll definitely be back when I'm back in Ayr.

Called to the Crown chippy based on the recommendations within Google as I have never been in Ayr before. Have to say Amy was great crack. Food was superb and great value for money. It goes without saying, support local. Thanks for giving us great food and a unique experience .

Came with the family to sundrum for a wee holiday and decided to get a chippy and go to the seaside fir our last eve , the ladies in the shop were so welcoming and lovely ! My daughter has celiac disease and she was great in helping her pick something suitable to eat . Will definitely be back when we next visit. Great service, great food and the prices were fab too !

If you've never been in to visit Amy then you are missing out. Great food and Amy adds sparkle to your visit with her friendly approach to every customer. We moved to maybole 2 years ago and still go back to Amy's in Ayr even though we have tried local places but they are not s patch on her food

Fantastic birthday treat for my mum! We will definitely be making this a regular place to visit. The fish was wonderful, the batter light and fluffy and the chips were very good, not greasy at all. Perfect amount of salt and vinegar and the portion size was big - just how we like it. It was also incredibly good value for money. Thank you Amy and Crown Chippy; we'll be back.

Fantastic local chippy with fresh fish that melts in your mouth. Portions are really large, compared to other chippies. Lovely owner, who just knows the business from the ground and shared her amazing story. It was our first time today and we will definitely visit again.

First time visiting this chip shop. Had special fish supper, which was amazing, staff were so friendly, will definitely be making this our local when at our lodge. By far best chip shop we have tried in ayr.

Searched out this wee jewel in the crown on Google and wasn't disappointed. Fresh made special fish supper tasted divine and crumbled in my mouth. Sausage supler went down a treat and great to taste chips made from real tatties. The lassies were fantastic too and jolly, chat and every so friendly.

There is no doubt this is the best chippy in ayr food is delicious and reasonably priced, the staff are very nice also

I have been visiting this chippy for several years now and I am never disappointed. I order a small fish supper because the portions are generous. Fresh, great tasting fish and good chips every time and a warm welcome as well.

On holiday in Ayr and decided to have a chippy, couldn't have chosen a better place. Portions were large husband had fish and chips 2 large fish batter lovely and crispy, he really enjoyed it. I asked for a chicken breast supper said it was half a chicken. This was the best chicken I have ever had from a chip shop it was moist and tasted delicious. Will definitely be going back again. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Well done ladies you should be very proud of yourselves. See you soon

We were looking for a decent chippy whilst on holiday. Chose this one as it had the best reviews, I ordered two fish suppers, and the fish just melted in your mouth, chips were delicious, so glad we visited, friendly bunch of ladies too, highly recommend 😊

Proper old style chip shop! Both pie supper and sausage supper were fab and huge portions. Gorgeous soft chip shop chips. Wrapped in paper too which always makes them taste nicer! Will be back soon!

A great wee chippy ran by a lady with a huge personality and a total commitment to quality and great service, great prices top quality, what more does one need. As good or better than any chip shop in Ayr and I've tried them all, forehill is good but at least 33% more expensive. This wee chip shop uses old fashioned ingredients and methods and by heavens it works big time.

Had a small fish supper, fresh to order, wonderfully crunchy on the outside and melt in the mouth tender on the inside. Brilliant, will definitely be back!

Absolutely lovely staff!! Myself and my two kids came in out of the rain and the staff member a short grey haired woman quickly offered myself and my kids a towel to dry ourselves! So warm and welcoming... We ordered three large fish and chips and my goodness I think it's the largest fish supper I've ever had and very tasty.... Kids loved it but struggled to finish as the portions were huge! 😂... All in a wonderful experience. People round this neighbourhood are so warm and helpful!

What a wee gem of a place! Been here twice now, will be my go to chippy when visiting Ayr from now on. Extremely reasonable prices, freshly cooked while you wait, great banter from the staff and an all round warm friendly atmosphere. Portions are big, well worth your money!

Good portion of chips, really nice chips indeed. salt and vinegar just right. Haggis could have been a little spicier, but still very good. Not greasy at all. really nice all round. Price is perfect!

So happy to find a gem of a chippy that provides beautiful fresh haddock. Mary prepared some fresh haddock (already breaded) for me to take home and freeze as I'm not often in Ayr so that's a double treat for me. some to eat now and some to freeze for another day. ten out of ten in my book any day
