Excellent fish and chip night Thursday evening. Very busy and we had to wait a bit for our meal but it was fantastic and the landlord and landlady were lovely.

Ordered the ribs and wings for my partner who said was excellent and surprised you got a whole rack of ribs and 4 large chicken wings. I had fish & chips which was lovely. Highly recommend going here for food. Hospitality 100% and nice and friendly locals 😁😁

Just been to The Crowne in Bathley and the atmosphere was great and people very friendly. Had some food which was freshly cooked and although they didn't have my partners first choice as its very popular they advised us to ring in advance so he would get what he wanted which is excellent service 😀

A wonderfully traditional village pub, with real heart. The food was fabulous , we ate a tasty home cooked meal, followed by yummy puddings that went down a treat. Can't wait till our next visit.

Having got caught out in the floods on the evening of the 7th December 2023 I was towed to this pub by two extremely decent gents and welcomed into the Crown Inn with my Bulldog Duchess by friendly staff and a very welcoming femal bar maid, they let me sit in dry off and I decided to have a portion of fish and chips whilst waiting to have my classic car recovered, the fresh Grimsby cod fish was cooked to perfection with nice crispy batter and lovely chips, the portion big enough to share and more than reasonable in price, whilst I ended up there under not brilliant circumstances due to the flood this time I will return for a meal in the future. Highly recommended and I have already recommended it to friends and family, oh and my dog Duchess enjoyed the experience as well. Thank you for making us feel so welcome.

We happened upon The Crown whilst visiting the area and were immediately struck by the warm friendly welcome we received. We were in luck because it was Thursday - Fish and Chips night and they were the most delicious I’ve ever tasted in my 57 years! The landlady explained how she’d travelled to Grimsby that morning to buy the fish and you could really tell. The pub itself is simply and traditionally furnished with a good sized eating area at the front for nicer evenings. Prices are reasonable and the beer was good. There’s a sizeable car park just over the road. We took a look at the full menu after our fish and chips - it looked varied with plenty of choice and an impressive vegetarian section and good range of desserts. I would fully recommend this place. If we lived locally, we would be regulars for certain.

I was looking forward to dining here as a coeliac but the service I had wasn’t exactly accompanied with a smile. The gluten free pancakes that I ordered were delicious but unfortunately they clearly were not gluten free due to the terrible reaction I had later on that day.. very disappointing. Even though I confirmed with the waitress that the pancakes were gluten free!

We were staying for 1 night after a family get together. Checking in was very easy, with a key left outside your room, so you could check in at your leisure. Rooms were gorgeously furnished, with everything you could possibly need and very clean. Really pretty flower borders just outside our bedrooms. All of us slept well in the very comfortable beds. Breakfast was amazing and we felt well catered for as vegetarians. We’re looking for an excuse to come back and stay here, we had such a good stay!

Tucked away within an antiques emporium this little jewel. From entering the shop you’ll be greeted by a lovely gentleman. The food was exquisite made to order not mass produced. The taste out of this world. Skill, time and quality ingredients. We were blown away. Will definitely visit again! Worth seeking out!
