What a super place. We were passing through Nuneaton as part of a longer trip and having enquired in a local pub, the verdict was unanimous that we should visit the Ghurka restaurant. We were not disappointed - yeah the food was outstanding just as they had predicted and the service exemplary. It was a relatively quiet evening, although it got busier as we were finishing up our meals. On departing the restaurant, we were given a hearty greeting by the owners and his staff and if we were passing through this way again, we would not hesitate to return 😊

First but definitely not last visit- everything exceeded my expectations really good fresh and different food. The CHYAU KO TARKARI was unreal. Even as a non veggie this mushroom dish stood out

Loved our visit here. Staff very friendly and the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere. The complimentary Poppadoms and dips were great and the highlight of the meal were the delicious sizzling lamb chops. Momos were OK but lacking in flavour for me personally, curries were nice. The red wine was good and the whole meal was decent value for money.

I absolutely love this place, it's been open for over 25 years and has maintained it's high quality dishes and service. Moderately priced food and drink with excellent desserts. Well worth a visit and you will want to go again.

Saturday 6pm 2 adults. Friendly greeting. Pint of the ghurka larger and a shandy. Complimentary poppadoms and pickle tray fresh and tasty. Starter chicken dumplings where amazing and the spring rolls delicious with a hot chilli dip. Main shanghai chicken so fabulous with a garlic naan. Chefs special chicken nice and hot delicious favours . Very enjoyable.

Great food, asked for medium spice, was mild, so will be going for the fairly hot next time.

Excellent throughout, greeted when we 1st got to the restaurant, taken to our table, the service was outstanding along with the food we had ordered,4 of us dined and all 4 had different main meals, cooked to perfection, i highly recommend this restaurant.

As usual, moans first - parking can be awkward on your first visit - nothing to do with the restaurant but its the only thing i can think of. What an establishment this is. If you were unsure about the Gurkha link before you went in you'll be certain once inside, the place is decorated with everything Gurkha, walls, place mats, beer, plates and the staff wear tradition dress, staff are very friendly and greet you with a smile as soon as you walk in, unsurprisingly it can get busy so its advisable to book, and although not the cheapest place to eat you get what you pay for. My wife and I had the Gurkha Thali for two, 2 poppadoms with the relish tray to start, then 6 Momo's and 2 Samosa's, easily split between the two of us, delicious. Then we had a lamb curry and a chicken curry, which we could choose as being mild or hot, a plate of boiled rice and a naan (we had a garlic naan). How you have your curry and how you split the rice and naan is up to you, you can always order extra if you wish, we had a plate of chips to go with ours and we were both full having devoured it, and again it was delicious. Brilliant place to go for a special meal.

When I work away from home it's often difficult to find somewhere nice to eat. This restaurant is fantastic, the food delicious and the staff are very friendly. The Cross Khukri beef special was delicious as were the Momo for starter. Thank you for a fantastic meal.

Friends took us to Crossed Khukris. It was fantastic. Having arrived shortly after opening time we were among the first to order. Thankfully though we had a reservation as within no time at all the restaurant was full. We received a warm welcome and were shown to our table immediately. The menu was extensive with so many great dishes to choose from. Service was first class all evening. This is a restaurant that we will return to when in Nuneaton.

Just had a takeaway from here, took over an hour and forgot my husbands chicken rice BUT, all is forgiven. Food is amazing and really generous portions so, we had leftovers, definitely ordering again!

Went out for a family meal the first one in a while booked a table for 5 o’clock and arrived on time . We were seated and bought drinks and ordered our meal, 45 minutes went past so we ordered more drinks, an hour past we were told our food wouldn’t be long and ordered more drinks, 1 hour and 45 minutes passed and we decided to leave to which it cost us £30 for drinks. All the time we were there they were bringing food out for takeaway drivers.I never got an apology until I wrote a review and a message to them on fb and then their customer service was disgusting. They obviously do not care about the customers who come to their restaurant. It cost me £18 on Uber taxis and then the £30 on drinks and then to not eat and not get a heart felt apology. I will definitely not be using this restaurant again

Went there the other day with my family. We had a nice time last we went there so I thought it would be the same. Unfortunately there was a hour and a half wait for the starter alone and we could see them bringing countless takeaways out of the kitchen, obviously taking priority over that than their actual customers who took their time to actually go to the restaurant. We even booked a table in advance to make sure we would have a spot, but they didn’t even care about that. After waiting for a total of an hour and 45 minutes we decided to leave, and even though one of the staff seemed apologetic, they would continue to have us pay full price for the drinks, even though us waiting was why we had so many drinks to begin with. If they at least gave us a discount on our drinks or something then I might be more lenient, but all they’re saying to my mum, who’s also put a review, is “we’ve already apologised what more do you want?” Which I think is disgusting and disrespectful. Definitely won’t come back here again. But the Chinese we had when we got home was great at a quarter of the price 👍

Booked a table for 5pm we arrived on time. Ordered drinks and received soft popadoms with sauces. After waiting a further 1hour and 45 minutes without receiving our meals we decided to leave. It’s been a while since we last went to this wonderful restaurant (23 years). Absolutely lived up to expectations. Friendly folks serving brilliant food. Our son’s first visit “The Best Chicken Curry, I’ve ever had”. Definitely won’t leave it so long until the next visit.

Our second visit Wow, this place rocks. We went with two friends, as always, the staff are excellent, very polite and friendly, the owner has an enduring smile and a personality to match. The food was excellent, all 4 of our group enjoyed a memorable meal. Interestingly this restaurant is busy even on a cold and damp Thursday evening, that tell you loads. Oh yes, I had the chilli sausage as a starter and the Nepali beef, which melted faster than butter. Me and my fiance went there for a celebratory meal on Saturday and not only was the food absolutely beautiful but the staff were so friendly and went above and beyond for us. We would highly recommend coming here and you won't be disappointed. We will definitely be going back regularly from now on.

We ordered nepalese curry beef, curry chicken and fried noodles with mutton.. It was delicious.. The beef and chicken were tender and both the curry were lovely and of different taste.. Go check out the menu recomended by chef and their specialities. Lovel and delicious

It was a great place to enjoy spiced vegetables, warm breads, and tender meats, all in a friendly dining atmosphere. There were lots of options on the menu.

Having only eaten Indian food I didn’t know what to expect, but I have discovered Nepalis cuisine I won’t go back. The food was excellent a lot lighter and more flavoursome than your typical Indian restaurant. The staff were attentive polite and very friendly, as for the owner he is still every inch a Ghurka Sgt Major. Definitely visit again but will bring friends next time.

Lovely food and friendly service. No rushing you out as soon as you finish. It was very quiet when we went so the atmosphere was affected by that but if you want a leisurely meal somewhere you can hold a conversation this is a good choice of venue.

Saw the reviews for this restaurant on Tripadvisor and decided to give it a go. Wow!! Absolutely amazing meal, really lovely staff and the lovely owner was a joy to talk to. Would definitely go again if we’re ever in the area.

Amazing delicious food. Attentive friendly staff in beautiful traditional clothing. We went for an impromptu meal on Xmas Eve as we were having drinks in the pub and nowhere was open for food. Wonderful meal was had by all. Room was a bit cold but the more diners, the warmer it got. Lovely to see the owner again as it appears the place has changed. Missed my hill bill sauce with the special Cross Khurkris Gurkha chicken but was really full and happy from it all.

It was a Sunday so very quiet. We were the only ones there towards the end, but the food was as good as ever.

Warm & friendly welcome from the staff and the food is amazing. We booked a table and we're glad that we had as there was a steady stream of people coming in to eat and they were also busy with takeaways. Starters: meat momo x1 Mains: sizzling lamb chops (no. 38 without sauce, with chips!); beef pahdi (no. 39 mild with rice); chefs special prawn (no. 46, with rice). Drinks: cider x2 (£3.60); large glass wine (£5.10). Meals were hot & absolutely gorgeous. I could definitely have had a hot beef pahadi, but I'll have that next next time, as we'll definitely be returning.

Update: Recently visited after a long time ignoring my own last review for delayed service and now changing rating from three to one star for more worst experience ☹️. Went on Sunday evening with a friend and ended up waiting for ~40 minutes to get our food severed. When we mentioned the delay, we were bluntly told by the waiter that WE HAVE TO WAIT AS WE HAVE COME AFTER OTHER GATHERING WHICH WAS BEEN SERVED ON PRIORITY !! Firstly there was so much delay in serving food and on top of that replying rudely was too much of an insult. As a restaurant, if you know that you cannot serve your customers on time then you should call out before making them seated, allowing them to take a wise decision nor making them wait for long and responding rudely. This was my last visit for sure. -------- Previous review ------- Food taste good. It is one of famous Indian/Asian restaurants in Nuneaton. Only reason for 5 stars is the slow service. On my last visit I happen to loose my patience at the end. Suggestion: Better to go for take away. Order 15-20 min advance & pickup.

Very poor service. On saying that it was a long wait, the waiter replied - you have to wait. If we knew we had to wait for an hour, then we would go to some other place. I am not going to visit there again.
