Always enjoy a visit to cross kitchen it’s everyone’s favourite place for breakfast. Food great and service always spot on stuff so friendly and nothings to much trouble

Not baby friendly at all, no changing table, not allowed to take pram inside even though it’s cold out to feed a baby. Felt very uncomfortable unfortunately

I visited today with my daughter and mum for lunch. We were extremely disappointed with the service and value for money of the food. The meal my mum ordered was sold out, which we should have been informed about before ordering. My daughter had the beans on toast which cost £5. I would hardly call it a portion of beans, more like a generous table spoon size and a slice of bread not even cut up for a child? We waited a silly amount of time for our drinks / food order to be taken and another long wait for food to come out. When the food did arrive, we were informed that one of our meals had accidentally been given to another table so we had to wait another long wait for the meal to be re made. I could hear other customers being apologised to and noticed another table get up and leave before they’d even ordered anything. So it doesn’t seem like we were the only ones unhappy with the service. When paying for our lunch, the waitress asked my mum if everything was ok with the food to which she responded “no not really”. But the waitress didn’t even ask what the problem was or why she wasn’t happy with her lunch. Other than the poor amount of food on the children’s meal, the other two meals were nice and well presented. We won’t be returning again. We had been visiting the cafe for many years and hadn’t been in a while since it’s rebranded or changed ownership. It used to be a friendly and affordable cafe but it doesn’t seem that way anymore.

Absolutely incredible breakfast having the Grand Cross, so tasty, and tons of it! Would totally recommend if you are in Emsworth!

The food just keeps getting better and better, today I had the bubble and squeak with sausages and egg, topped off with a delicious sauce. Now I’ve had bubble and squeak before many times but this dish was a level above! The menu is full of amazing dishes. If you haven’t dined here yet, what are you waiting for.

Visited for some brunch whilst Christmas shopping. Opted for The Christmas Burger and I was not disappointed! Wow! It was delicious, so many different flavours and thoroughly enjoyed. Waitresses were friendly, helpful and we didn’t have to wait long for our food. The selection of cakes looked amazing so took one away with me, will definitely visit again.

Went on a Sunday, seating was reserved inside for those having something cooked, plenty of outside seating if you just wanted coffee and cake. Had the Mac Cross - outstanding and greatly enhanced by the chilli mayonnaise.

Yet another lovely lunch enjoyed with friends at Cross Kitchen. Bought two lovely mince pies home to enjoy with hubby and a cup of Yorkshire tea. Thank you Steve, Gemma and staff for such a brilliant place to bring friends and family.

We just paid £18.00 for 2 coffees and 2 pastries , asked for a baby chino - which is quarter of a side of a cuppa cofee and they charged £2.50 , most places charge nothing or at most 60p , just posting this so others can be aware , coffee was Luke warm so drank it it in 5 mins

Been there before and good food again but it’s getting very expensive. Also we waited 15 mins to be served and a further 35mins for breakfast. Finally why can’t you swap one item for another , standard practice everywhere else…..disappointed

We have visited here a couple of times and found it to not live up to expectations. Service was really quite unfriendly (verging on aggressive!) and we were made to feel like an inconvenience. The prices seemed on the high side, too. Although we only ordered coffee, we would have eaten but due to the complete Inflexibility re removing an item from the breakfasts, we skipped having any food. Having had the same experience twice now, we’ll probably not risk it a third time and will stick to our usual favourite coffee spots. A shame as we like supporting new and local businesses but not when our custom is not welcome.

I don’t think I have ever been anywhere with such rude staff! We were a family of 6 adults and three young children, we asked one of the waitresses if she minded if we moved a couple of extra chairs to the table and she had to ask the manager. The manager came out and curtly told us we could absolutely not move any tables because we might not move them back even though we weren’t asking to move any tables. Then she also told us that we weren’t allowed to order any more then 6 meals (we were only having drinks and pastries any way) - what would she have done if we sat on separate tables and didn’t tell her that we were all together, would one table have been refused food because she’d already taken 6 orders? The menu was very expensive and it was noted on the menu that you could not make any changes or substitutions. We noticed her being extremely rude to another couple also who ended up leaving. It seemed that having customers was a huge inconvenience. Very odd experience

Went with family for brunch and sat in courtyard. Staff were unanimously unfriendly and unhelpful. An elderly lady at a table nearby was curtly told to “Go in to the counter and pay” when she asked if she could have the bill. My daughter (who has a photograph, but I am too squeamish to view) then discovered towards the end of a mediocre fry up (that came minus the requested vegan sausage), to our horror, what at best appeared to be an eyelash but was too curly to be such. When it was pointed out the response was absolutely gob smacking. No apology, no offer of a deduction or refund… a mere embarrassed acknowledgement “Oh yes… you don’t want anything else, do you?” We will definitely NEVER be returning 🤢

Great quality ingredients, including proper smoked bacon and the best sausages from the local Treagus butchers. Fresh lettuce and there’s even thyme on the baked beans! This is an ideal stop after a dog walk along Emsworth’s coastline. Friendly staff and efficient service, even on a bank holiday Monday. Highly recommended.

Cross Kitchen is outstanding from quality of food, flavour to cooked perfectly, choice, location and staff are absolutely fabulous they are professional and personable. Loved that they use local produce where possible and have local artist work on the wall to purchase. We had the American pancakes and full cooked breakfast, the presentation from the crockery to the food was spot on. Many thanks made my birthday celebrations!
