Definitely time the sanitiser was removed. This is 2024 not 2020 and alcohol sanitizer does not kill a virus anyway. Smacks of project fear.

Pleasant hotel, clean rooms, although poorly soundproofed - you can hear noise from the corridor and neighboring rooms. Tasty breakfast, large selection of dishes.

Luckily we were only here one night. It's not worth four stars, at most one. There are much better three star hotels that we have traveled to in the last few days. There is poor service and very unfriendly staff here. Just shrug your shoulders when asked. The rooms were musty and dirty and in very poor condition. Felt like staying in a basement room. The bathroom in particular leaves a lot to be desired. The sink is broken and the water temperature cannot be regulated. We also arrived at the hotel a little late and there was no more food. Really bad when you're traveling with small children. Even then, people only get annoyed when they ask about restaurant times.

Myself husband and 8 year old granddaughter stayed for 4nights. Buffet meal had a good selection and was really nice, restaurant staff were really good, Caitlin is a cheery, bubbly young woman, Giselle has an infectious smile, and Christiano was so kind. Rooms are a bit dated but you are never in the room for a length of time, beds were clean and comfortable. Room was clean. Sadly my husband had a fall out side the hotel his own doing, staff immediately came to our aid and did everything they could to assist me, reception staff looked after my granddaughter as she was so distressed. Staff helped me get my husband to our room, they were professional , calm, helpful and showed genuine concern for all our safety. An amazing bit thank you to Emily, Lily, Juan Carlos, Mihai, Delia, and Amdneea, without all your support I would have struggled. Thank you coylumbridge I will certainly be returning.

AWFUL EXPERIENCE, LEFT AT 1.30AM!!! This is one of the worst hotels we have stayed in EVER!!! Disgustingly dirty rooms and bathrooms, clueless staff, freezing cold and then unbearably roasting hot rooms, feral teenagers/children running and screaming in hallways lap after lap tapping on doors, a flooded carpark entrance and walkways, dimly lit paths, tired dated ripped furniture everywhere and a staff more useless than the faulty towers crew!! On arrival we were met by a woman with the WORST understanding of Scottish/English language and who was to busy going through her preprogrammed offers that she didn't even answer any of our questions that we actually needed answers for! Had no idea what a clothes horse or drying rack was, asked someone else in office who suggested we use the ironing board, explained there was zero soace to set it up and he shrugged his shoulders! We basically gave up and went to our rooms, what a joy that was. Dust everywhere, pubes on bathroom surfaces and beds, disgusting mildew smell and freezing cold! Then after being in our disgusting room we ask about how to adjust temperature to be told all radiators are turned off in summer so there was nothing they could do to warm it up. Enquired as to what the attatchement was on the taps and to wether we were ok drinking the tap water due to it and she had no clue and said explicitly that there was no attachment on the tap! I googled the product and it was a water filter attachment, absolutely clueless!!!! On our way back to our room we were passed by sniggering feral children/teenagers who were having a joyous time playing postie knock on doors and tearing along the corridors at full pelt near knocking over an elderly couple and shouting obscenities. Later we heard the screech of the drunk mother as she screamed at them to come to bed at 1am, yes the noise continued until 1am! By this point we had had enough of the now roasting hot room, full of midges because the window was open to cool it and the drunken feral screams so we packed up and left at 1.30am with our two children aged 10 and 11. Never in our lives have we experienced this bad a hotel, seriously AVOID AT ALL COSTS, pay the little extra and go to Premier Inn or MacDonalds instead.

This is now the third time I have visited this hotel once whilst it was a Hilton around 6 years ago and twice this year 2024. It is now under new ownership by Britannia. The hotel has changed a lot since it was a Hilton and I would say is aimed towards cheaper family stays than luxury stays. There is plenty to do on site for kids with games, soft play, parks and sports activities. The food isn’t great. The meals are a very simple style buffet consisting of some pre selected meats pork, turkey and fish, frozen veg and low quality mash in our case along with nuggets, chips onion rings and breaded cheese sticks. On the other hand I thought the breakfast was good and had many options. It reminded me very much of a school dinner. The hotel is getting older and the rooms are starting to show this. They are tired in places but acceptable. The majority of staff are hard working, polite people and to be honest work long hours and still have a positive attitude. I hope they are well reimbursed for their effort. We did have some issues with double charges and not having specific meals available which ultimately were not offered for refund until I asked. The refund process in general seems to be via management team only. The front desk and bar staff are either unable to do this or are not allowed to do so. This leads to a very annoying issue of having to escalate to management or waiting for a long winded refund process by the hotel fill in this form we will contact you in 2 weeks…

Photos do not match. Very old room in need of renovation, with small shower, very hot water (you couldn't take a refreshing shower). In addition to having no place to put bath towels. They need to improve the curtains in the room too, light even with the curtains closed. Bad mattress and poorly cleaned carpet. And to top it off, at breakfast, I left the table to get more water for my tea and the server took my plate (full of food). When I came back, I wanted to know where/who had gotten my plate, the server ignored me. I had to insist on an explanation, given his arrogance, and he told me that the plate was empty. I complained no, it was full as I had just made it. Then he told me that I could get more if I wanted, that I just had to make another one. A complete disregard. Food waste is normal for them. It doesn't matter if it goes outside, if it's not ecological or if there are people in need. For me, a huge lack of respect. Paying a lot and having this level of service is hard.

Where to start, We have booked through Expedia we booked a dog friendly room cos we took our two girls with us. The room was stated as a queen bed, the bed where two single ones put together with two single mattress of a very questionable quality. The hotel is in a stunning position the staff is ok not incredibly friendly, and the room we were given didn’t reflect the pictures on the Expedia website, I understand is not the hotels fault even tho as a hotel been advertise on an external website I personally would check that the descriptions given are accurate. I will never book a double room cos the British beds are very small so we always go for queen or king size beds when booking a hotel. The sheets didn’t fitted the bed so I ended up with no sheet during the night and also the mattress cover didn’t fitted the mattress. The bathroom is ok, functional, but they don’t clean it either, meaning that I will remain with the poop attached on the WC for 3 days cos they don’t provide you with a toilet brush either. When this morning I pointed out the poor quality of the mattress and the issue with the linens been too short for the bed , the lady at the reception told me she would speak to the cleaners and sort it out. This was 8.30 this morning we came back at 14.30 room wasn’t done and on the floor in front of our room where some linens. When I asked what time the room will be ready, they said they would’t do the room. I just wanted to point out this is a Hotel that classifies 4 stars. Unreal. All night the light outside our room was flashing from under the door. A bit of a nightmare. They say they are dog friendly I say they tollerate dogs. With 5 dogs we take them often in dog friendly hotels and they are allowed also in the restaurants of those places. Here you have to get your food from the restaurant and sit at the reception. Anyway the hotel per-se is nice a part of those details that could be rectified and make it a more pleasant stay. PS we were about to book the suite and didn’t because it stated double bed. Now I have been told that dogs wouldn’t be allowed in the suite by the receptionist, that should be perhaps be specified. I am so disappointed with this place was supposed to be a nice weekend away to rest and here I am making my own bed, unbelievable. I won’t bother spending another holiday here I would have left but all the dogs friendly hotels near by are fully booked. I will complain to Expedia too for the lack of informations, we might have some higher expectations then other people that staid here, but when we go away we like to rest even if briefly, having to do my own bed and clean the toilet when in a hotel is not something I am looking forward too. When I complained to the receptionist this afternoon and asked if I could be given a rebound I have been told not got today cos it was passed 2pm but if you go on Expedia website it states 3pm. Maybe they should start communicating with each other in order to don’t distress customers . I have also been told by the receptionist that it is stated on their website that they don’t do the rooms up We looked and couldn’t find it anywhere. I think they should write it in capital Letters on the home page cos I would have never booked if I knew I had to make my own room. Is not a self catering place is a “4 star” hotel.

It's a 2 and half rounded up to a 3 star. Location amazing. Pet friendly big whoop. The main let down was the mattresses in the room, now we did say it was uncomfortable and the staff gave us a mattress topper which did help just not enough. Change them and it could easily be a 3/4 star review.

Not been here for years and it has changed. The restaurant , food was probably the best but looks luxury however the rooms are very dirty. There are broken windows, chipped surfaces, squeaky beds and more. It is in a nice area and has good facilities like the pool and arcade. I would maybe stay here again. Would however wish for a better room.

Just back from an amazing weekend spent at this hotel. I was a wee bit worried when booking as I'd seen so many negative reviews. This hotel is amazing especially if you have younger kids. There is so much to do including the pool, 2 games rooms, large play park, soft play and animatronic dinosaurs in the car park. Both nights we were there they had activities for the children including a clown. The room was clean and well maintained and if anything a wee bit on the warm side. Staff were all helpful and pleasant. Although we didn't have a meal in the evening we ate at the breakfast buffet two mornings and both times it was great with a large selection of both hot and cold items. A special shout to Andriy (excuse the spelling) who has worked there for 10 years. He was always warm and friendly and enjoyed speaking with customers. On finding out it was my daughters birthday during our stay. He went out of his way to make it even more special and memorable. Many thanks. We will definitely return

Great hotel. Very kid and dog friendly. Pool fab. Staff all really nice. Room, got free upgrade to family room. Beds have toppers, so nice and comfy, extra pillows in room. TV in room, plus Kettle. Rooms nice and warm, as was hotel. Lovely lounge and bar areas. Located in the most beautiful surroundings, just outside of Aviemore. Great beer selection from Cairngorm Brewery, on tap and bottled. Breakfast buffet good, as was the evening. On site resturant also good. It is a great place, where the staff could not be nicer. Ignore any negative reviews, stay at this hotel, it win't disapoint.

The staff were exceptionally helpful but the hotel itself is definitely in need of investment and not at all like it was when I stayed here 5 years ago. Back then I thought it was a bit posh, now I’d say it’s more like Butlins. I’d booked a small room so didn’t have high expectations and was grateful I could take my dog and very happy to find myself in a disabled room which was spacious and had a window. However, it seemed every dog in the hotel was in this corridor so you can imagine the grumbles at other dogs constantly passing. The rooms are also right next to an amusement arcade which was noisy all night (even at 2am when clearly no one is using it). The room needed a window open all the time to prevent it being too hot, even after I turned the radiator off, crazy given it was snowing outside. I was told it would only be cleaned once, not an issue, but it was never actually cleaned. The bathroom also had a very hot radiator which couldn’t be turned off under a mirror which meant anytime I used the mirror I caught myself on it. Food options are limited as there’s only availability Friday and Saturday night in the bar unless you’re flush with money and able to afford £25 for the buffet in the restaurant. The pool was lovely but it’s small so can be difficult to swim laps as it can be busy but having a sauna was great. It’s has limited opening hours and you need to book too. I could have scored this really low but the staff were very helpful and it’s great it’s dog friendly. However I won’t be staying here when I come up to aviemore next year.

Sadly have to report not the best experience. 25mins to check in which apparently is not unusual. Not great having to stand in line for 25mins with 2 people on reception when you have driven for 3 hours. Room was ok but woken both nights of my stay with very loud banging coming from the radiator so not a lot of sleep was had. Shower temperature guage didn't work so temperature was too hot and uncomfortable to shower in. Pool only open a few hours of the day. Says it's open from 3:30pm to 6:30pm but didn't open till 4:30. So only a 2 hour window to enjoy the pool and you have to book. Given the size of the hotel and number of guests there is every chance you won't get a spot to swim so in reality pool a waste of time to most guests. On check out the reception doesn't appear to be manned and just a drop off box to drop the room key in so unable to make a complaint. I persisted and was told to fill in a card to report my complaints. I also emailed my complaint but no response from anyone. Judging by other reviews it is obvious thay don't care. Such a shame as potentially could be a nice place to stay but as I didn't get hardly any sleep due to the banging of the radiator and couldn't enjoy a decent shower (the 2 basics you would want from a hotel) would not recommend. Sadly they don't seem to care as any correspondence is simply ignored.

It’s a Britannia hotel but they go to great lengths to keep the brand hidden. First of all the pros: 1: the staff are great. In true Britannia fashion they are overworked, underpaid and go mostly unappreciated but they are friendly and helpful. 2: the sauna is great. It’s clean and hot Now the cons: 1: the food is most definitely not worth the price. £25 per head for buffet, as a veggie this gave me access to one “main” but even the meat eaters were stiffed with only three options which all looked grey and unnatural. Breakfast was just as bad with the usual Britannia assortment of hyper-oily eggs, hash browns etc though the chef did cook my wife and I some veggie sausages on request. Please avoid the food here, you have been warned. 2: gym was closed for three days despite us booking the hotel as it had a gym. We weren’t told until check in and it wasn’t on the website. 3: Pool and hot-tub were cold and it got colder as the week wore on. Well below acceptable. Many guests just left it. 4: bar prices were ridiculous with most draught drinks clocking in at £5 a pint. Same with the coffee bar. Quality was good however. 5: woodshed bar was closed all week and only opens on a Friday and Saturday. This is a recent development apparently 6: the room was not serviced in the four days we stayed there. I had to ask the receptionist for toilet paper which is pretty embarrassing to be honest. 7: the room itself was exactly what you’d expect from Britannia. Rough around the edges, draughty and worn. Desk light did not work and looked like someone had used it to fight an attacker off. In all, for what I paid (a little over £50 a night) it was acceptable but when you look at the place you can see that it’s heyday has definitely gone and will never return to its glory days.

This was once a nice hotel. The public areas like the bar, foyer and restaurant are still very pleasant. Staff are all friendly and helpful, despite being run off their feet, as there aren't enough of them. Rooms are a bit mixed depending on which you get. My courtyard room was very small, but clean and functional. Couldn't adjust the shower temperature. The worst aspect was the food. It's terrible. Even the coffee was awful. Maybe it's penny pinching, but it's a shame as this place has the potential to be really nice again.

I used a Red letter Day voucher, which 'highlighted' the hotel for the area we wanted to go to....and the pictures on the website looked promising...Once we got there ..oh dear, how disappointing. Our voucher was for DBB room rate was £90pn our voucher was worth £120. The room was poky and dated with a sliding door to the cupboard that was the en-suite shower 'room'. Floor was extremely creaky, and I pity the occupants of the room below if there was one. Highlights - dinner and the staff Lows - shower door broken, heehaw toilet roll and no spare. Squeaky floor. Uncomfortable bed We didn't stay for breakfast... left nice and early the next day. Should have read the reviews properly before visiting. Sorry, Craiglynne..not so much Bespoke as Banal.
