County Hotel in South Lakeland

Company taking advantage of staff making one person do 4 jobs is so stupid

Wasn't very impressed walking to my room after checking in and my door is wide open people just walking past the room who is to say no body just walked in anything could have happened to the room before I used it wallpaper is falling off in the corridor and the carpets are very warn beds are comfortable and shower is powerful well in my room lol

The room had some issues. Staff was very friendly though and also the food and breakfast was good. What I understand is that the hotel was just taken over and new management. I think and hope they will improve it.

I recently stayed at this hotel for four days and had a fantastic experience. I was informed that the hotel had just been taken over by a new company, so they warned me of expected teething issues, but everything ran smoothly. The staff were incredibly accommodating, and a special mention goes to the regional manager (female , blonde hair), who personally checked in with me every morning to ensure I had no issues and accomedated me throughout. The rooms are well-equipped with everything you need. It is comfortable, clean, and practical. The location is excellent, right opposite the train station, close to shops and restaurants, and not far from some great hiking trails. A big thank you to all the staff for making my stay so enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel, and for those driving, I suggest parking in the train station car park, which is free of charge. Would definitely stay here again!

Hotel fine. Food lovely. Henry pulled out all the stops as he was doing the job of 3 people after the manager left. He worked from early morning till late at night. He deserves a medal or at least a pay rise.

Lovely room with plenty of storage. Great food with choice. Bit of traffic noise.

2 stars, we were slightly dubious! .... Don't be, its a spot on, clean, Friendly, well located hotel. Can't knock the place, half price drinks in happy hour and everyone was really nice and bubbly. Location wise, spot on! ... We used it as a base camp and Kendal is lovely! ... No complaints and would 100% stay again!

Lovely hotel with friendly staff and great entertainment.

Fantastic stay. Felt like home in the first hour. Lisa, Henry and all the outstanding staff go more than the extra mile to make your stay a good one. Henry the Deputy Manager is very entertaining, and you can have a good laugh with him because of his cracking personality. We will definitely be coming back

Lovely hotel lisa n her staff are great. The deputy manager did a elvis act he was great.Shame they are selling it but let's hope they keep it as a hotel would defo go again food lovely rooms fine entertainment ok.

Was a lovely friendly hotel, food was good.

On a Shearings Twixmas coach trip. A warm comfy hotel .room spotless and lovely fluffy white towels. Bed good size twins.clean sheet and pillow cases. Bathroom modern shower over bath plenty of hot water. Food some of the best iv had on coach tours,good atmosphere in bar on evening usual quiz and bingo .Live entertainment excellent .it's not in a picturesque position in town .but handy to get to old part of Kendal. Staff busy mulitaxing and working their socks off. Enjoyed my stay .
