Country Skittles in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Will not be back. Food is way too expensive for what is served! Very poor! My child had a hot dog on the menu and came out with a normal sausage in a bun. Haha. I did question this and they told me that is there hot dog. Poor poor poor! Hardly any choice on the menu! So poor! Change this menu and the quality of food ASAP! The owner clearly has not been served the food that is getting dished up. The peas aswell are awful? £7.50 for this photo of food that is suppose to be a hot dog 🤣 don’t go to this place!! Games room is boring too and out dated.

We brought nine of us to play skittles. The staff were excellent; welcoming and patient. The facilities were great and we will definitely be back to try food next time. Thank you, Country Skittles team!

Great place to take family when it's raining

Went there this evening for my birthday and honestly had a fantastic time, the food was incredible. The lamb grill stone was just amazing. We will definitely be coming back! There were 18 of us and not one complaint. Thank you country skittles for such a great evening.

Table of 17 booked in last minute, we has the best time! It was relaxed, staff were amazing and really helpful. The kids had the best time, they were free to roam between the pool room and the arcade room. We also all enjoyed playing skittles!! Very relaxed atmosphere, very family orientated. The teens also enjoyed playing the boardgames and the darts, adults too. Will definitely return and would highly recommend!

Did an evening skittles for my son's 12th birthday during half term. The food was decent enough but the drinks were highly priced (£2.40 for half a coke) The games room was very tired with some machines poorly stocked and not working very well. Also seemed a lot less in there than my last visit. The axe throwing/shooting room was closed which was disappointing too.

Great place Lovely helpful staff Great food

This place has sadly gone downhill. It used to be a family favourite. The bowing is still great (though our lane was switched off 3 minutes early… which is a lot when you’re trying to beat the other team!!) The staff at the desk were above and beyond lovely. I really couldn’t fault them. Kind, friendly and accommodating. But the food was just grotty! Everything was overcooked and when we asked for the gluten free options (which you’d think would be quite common these days) we were given a very short list… ‘small fish and chips’, chips, or cheesy chips. Not even the offer of any vegetables which would be gluten free. That was a big disappointment, but she didn’t really miss out, as the food was so awful anyway. A member of staff came over to ask how our food was, but as one person began to respond, she walked away without listening!! We were having a great catch up between 2 families so didn’t want to make a fuss so just laughed it off. We then headed to the games room, where the shooting lane used to be. It was freezing cold and lifeless, more machines to win toys (or not) and 2 uneven pool tables to attempt to play a game. Only 2 cues so we had to wait for another family to finish playing their game. The air hockey was great! All in all a very mediocre experience, which is not how it used to be. Lovely, friendly staff, but everything else a bit of a let down. We didn’t say anything at the time as we were there for a good catch up with old friends, but it’s definitely worth an honest review

started with drinks being brought over to the table without even serving out the tray was just dumped on the table and we had to dish out our selfs we ordered 2 diet cokes and was only given one but didn’t get the time to explain as the waiter pretty much ran off, after that food was served everything seemed fine until we noticed the waiters where almost bicering over who was gonna come and check our food was okay everything was fine with the food until we cut into the chicken and it was pink we brogut up to the front to show the chef and the waiter and we where instantly shut down with excuses and been told “it’s dye” however why is there a pink dye in chicken and there was no offer of a refund or fresh meal. i have pictures of the food however can not add to this review

booked in advance. worst service staff clearly contemplating which one to come over to our table. when served drinks left the trey on our table . asked a young girl with long black hair for a word and she rolled her eyes at me and walked away the chicken was pink and when i said politely about it the staff gathered behined the bar and made me and my friends feel so uncomfortable. we waited a long time for the bowling we had already paid for and had 20minutes to bowl. overall the worst service, the staff were making middle fingers at eachother across the room while children are having meals . never again spent £25 on raw chicken and 20 minute bowling. no refund .

First got brought our drinks which was dumped next to us on the tray which we had to hand out on our own. Then the food came out, and as we cut into the chicken we realised it was raw, uncooked and rubbery. Then continued to ask the staff to come over and rolled her eyes so went up to the reception point and felt intimidated as soon as I started complaining staff all gathered around like it was a show. Made me feel really uncomfortable as we was all young girls. We then asked for some mayo, the girl said do you not even have any? We then replied saying no and she had to check as she diddn’t believe us. I have experience being a waitress and I would never treat costumers like this. As we had finished our meal, we had bowling. We had no instruction on where to go or what to do. We stood there for about 10 minuets and then a staff member came over. Would not recommend going in a small group of younger people as felt like that may be the reason for this bad service.

Atmosphere is great if you're going for a family vibe. Food is reasonable and service is always over and above. We Happily visit here regularly.

Visited for grandsons 8th birthday with a few of his friends. Visited many times over the years and how disappointing this visit was. The games shelf is lacking and what is available for much older age group and all very old and tatty, needs refreshing with new and more mixed age children’s games. The arcade area has more machines with soft toys and capsule toys than actual games to play and at £2 per go an expensive add on, also very cold area. Bowling well what can I say the staff didn’t bother to try and explain to the boys how to play or use the electronic controls. The skittles stuck many times, again very cold in here. Food was hot! But meat patties over cooked and the mac and cheese awful. The menu was limited and very little for vegetarians or vegan and yet they had another menu with far more choices still on the desk but we were told not available. Items we did pick we were then informed they didn’t have. We had to ask several times for our birthday cake to be bought out waiting a good 20 minutes. The toilets are dirty and cold Once a great venue to spend a good few hours with children and adults playing and eating/drinking but now needs some attention - heating, cleaning, refreshing and staff training to get back to what it was

Good night had skittles, and darts ,and a good ale to be had

I cannot recommend this place enough. The conscious effort to provide a memorable evening at every stage was a credit to the team and management. 21 piping hot meals of different varients delivered simultaneously under pressure of multiple Xmas parties. Fantastic value for money, plenty of indoor activities to share with valued colleagues I most definitely recommend the grill stone, but if you are looking for a challenge, the 20oz Yankee burger is a must....well done Mathew for polishing off that beast

We came as a group of 8. We had a game of skittles which was great. We sat at our table which was in the outer area. It was cold. The chairs are uncomfortable. I had gammon and pineapple. The gammon was over cooked and dry. The peas were lukewarm and the chips were under cooked. We go because it’s local to us and we like a game of skittles. I don’t recommend the food.

Kids loved all the games and had such a good time. Good was yummy and generous. I'm wheat intolerant and the allergy book was easy to understand. Will go again soon

Enjoyed a family gathering to celebrate a special occasion. The food was amazing. We all really enjoyed playing Skittles and other games, I definitely would recommend this, especially if you have a large family group. Young and old could participate no matter their abilities.

Just had the most beautiful lasagna I ever did eat! I thought lasagna was just lasagna, but that was divine!

Nice place , friendly staff and lots of games to play. Unfortunately the food was terrible. Ordered a Yankee Burger. It was presented well but it was so dry and tasteless. Avoid the food. Visited 9th October 7pm.

We had a lovely evening here. The skittles was interesting, 2 of our children embraced the game and had the best time. Introducing the kids to Yahtzee before dinner was also fun. Loads for the children to do. There were several large parties so the large checkers board and darts was a little inaccessible as we didn't want to intrude on others. I came here a few times over 20 years ago and was great to bring my children here. Food was amazing, quality was fab and the price was more than reasonable. The steak was cooked perfectly and the veggie burger was one of the best we have tried. Only comment would be that the kids nuggets were a little pale and I felt that a place like this could have got the better quality nuggets rather than the standard ones. Pudding was also amazing 🤩 Would absolutely recommend

Great dining experience where you can have a skittles game while your food is prepared so no waiting. Food was delicious with generous portions and service was brilliant. Will definitely be visiting again when we visit Cornwall again.

We needed a restaurant that would accommodate 8 people and 2 dogs. We rang up to check if there was a table and make a reservation. When we arrived we were greeted and shown to our table. The menu is wide and varied, I had the steak, which was cooked perfectly and really enjoyed. A friend had the lamb which also looked and smelt amazing. The meals were freshly cooked and didn't take too long to arrive. The customer service was excellent, with friendly staff, who were happy to help. We left with very full stomachs after some fabulous desserts and a belly full of laughter after playing a game of skittles. As this was a last minute reservation, we were really happy how the evening went.

Visited here with my family and for a birthday treat for our daughter and her friends. The greeting from staff was amazing and told us how it all worked. We choose our food before we played skittles and then food came out once we had finished playing. The food was fresh and absolutely amazing, we had a couple of the specials off the board and they were great. The kids all ate Thier food which is also nice to see. Plenty to keep the kids busy for a few hours with the games room and board games. Great to visit in all weathers and all year round. Keep up the hard work Country Skittles.

Great staff, fast and good service. None of the food is fresh at all, burgers like you would get from a burger van on the side of the road and fish soggy in the middle. Also ran out of the roast on a sunday by 6pm. Would not recommend the food but the skittles was good. Very loud when eating dinner due to the skittles not being in a closed area.

Very fun location. We booked for skittles, played 2 great games then played in the side rooms with pool, air hockey, table football and all sorts. A great place to go for entertainment if it is wet outside. Didn't eat here, and no real ales to drink, but chocolate at the bar!

Came with family that were down on holiday. We were greeted by really friendly staff, orders for food were taken swiftly and then we played skittles. Great fun...food was super!

Only stayed for a meal but the food was excellent and good sized portions at very reasonable prices. I'm fussy so this is a big compliment :) we had the yankee burger and nachos. Both done properly no corners cut. well done skittles.

First time at this venue. Not sure what to expect. On the evening that I visited, it was full of families, having a meal or playing skittles and having a good time.. I'm not normally a person who enjoys that sort of activity, but I found the skittles very enjoyable, playing a full half hour slot against a very competitive family. The food was good. Nicely presented. All members of my group had either steak or lamb. This was served on a very hot stone, so it could be cooked to your choice. Drink prices were average. Service friendly and efficient. All in all, a good evening..

Fabulous evening of food and skittles game. Despite being busy they managed to find us a table in the bar area. Our food arrived quickly after ordering. Staff were friendly and very helpful as one of our party has food intolerances.

Very enjoyable evening spent eating, bowling and drinking, even though they were busy they fitted us in and the food was very prompt and staff were extremely friendly. Recommend this venue 🙂

Absolutely loved our evening here - such a different and fun place, the skittles/food ordering was seamless, the food was excellent and really reasonably priced. We don’t eat out often as a family as the children get bored easily but there was so much to do, loads of board games, a little arcade, darts, pool etc. Can’t wait to come when we visit Hayle again, worth every penny - I can’t recommend this place highly enough! One of our favourite evenings of the holiday.

Booked for a retirement celebration for a member of my admin team & they went above & beyond to make sure that everything was perfect! The food was delicious & we enjoyed the skittles & other games. Fantastic evening with beautiful food, fantastic staff . But the bowling was different in the best way, it was original bowling and it made the whole experience brilliant.because the young children had a better better chance

We had family with small children down this week and they found this. We didn't know about it, although we live quite close. It was great fun and a good little set up. We enjoyed the skittles then some other games. Good for everyone, we'll remember this when other people come now.

We had an great family get together last night with 16 of us ranging from 15 -59yrs. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, the service was great and well organised. The food was excellent. We have been visiting Country Skittles for many years and highly recommend it to others.

Had beer battered fish and chips tonight. Can honestly say it's the worst batter I've ever had on fish. The fish underneath the very soggy batter was lovely. I complained to the server to be offered a free pudding or drink. I declined. Extremely poor service.

Standard freezer food not worth the money

Just to say we had a lovely evening celebrating my daughter’s birthday with you tonight! Staff were brilliant very accommodating, polite & friendly. Food was great & the selection of games was also a big hit for my family & friends. After our last time visiting was 10 years ago safe to say it’s still as good if not better than it was then. Perfect place to accommodate any celebration. So just wanted to say a massive thank you to all of you at country skittles! 10/10 🤩🤩🤩🤩

This place is great! They really made our Grandsons birthday something special. From walking in to having to leave I cannot fault any one of the staff. To be honest they were the most friendly staff I’ve encountered in a long time. Very good service, good menu … all in all food was very good quality and plenty to go around. The skittle games were ideal and the staff are on hand to help, extra games room is also ideal should you be waiting between food and skittles. We will definitely be back! Well done to all your staff.

Wonderful experience and service. Went as a party of 8 dairy and gluten allergies and they adapted dishes to accommodate as all meals were cooked from scratch. Skittles was an enjoyable family activity and the atmosphere and service exemplary.

Nice place to go for a party or something, all i am bothered about is that the sausages are very hard, chips very dry, all the sauces hard to open! Skittles is very fun although, i wish if we want to we could do normal bowling! Ice cream very delicious and would recommend

Always have a great nite here and it's so reasonable to bowl with a family.

Had a really fun time here! They take your food order then set up your game of skittles, then call you through when the food is ready. Went on a dark Weds night in November and it was busy within minutes of opening. I had the steak on a hot stone which was delicious, followed by the cheesecake which was divine. The homemade lasagne was the best we've had. Would come again, no question.

We had a great time taking our community youth group there last night! All the meals were correct and perfect for 15 of us, all timed perfectly and the staff were really helpful and friendly. I couldn't rate them highly enough

Skittles, Daughters Birthday Party With Friends , Good Food, and Very Fair Prices. Good For Days When Weather Is Poor But Also Great When Sunny As Has Outside Seating.

Cannot fault Country Skittles. We were a large party (16 of us) but this didn't faze them, the food came out all together and was all correct (pre-ordered) delicious food and generous portions at a reasonable price. Staff were attentive and facilities were excellent. Everyone enjoyed the games room and the skittles alley. Would certainly recommend for a meal or just to pop in for coffee and a board game. Will be returning!

Really good fun and reasonably priced. We ordered our food then played the skittles. Our food was then ready five min after playing our game and was perfectly timed. Tge food was amazing aswell

What’s not to like? Location is great, nice views, great atmosphere. When you step inside it’s so well set out, whether you want to play skittles, or head off for some pool, arcades, air hockey or go get food, play board games or eat, it’s got everything. Suits the whole family and the staff couldn’t be any more friendly. A must visit!

I had a good time at country skittles, lots of games for the kids. Unfortunately after receiving my food I found someone else's mayo wrapper buried in my salad, which only makes me think that they reuse other people's uneaten food.

A fabulous place and a great find, especially for a wet or windy retreat. The food was excellent and although the skittles lanes were fully booked the evening we visited, the board game library was fantastic. Food orders are taken at reception and drinks at the bar which is a bit unusual but the queues for both were short on a busy evening and our food came very quickly.

This is such a good place to visit for an evening out with friends and family. So much to do, good menu to choose from and a bar to keep the evening going. Staff are friendly and prices are quite reasonable. Would recommend 🙂

Went with all my family, eldest me 70s youngest 20 months, 4 generations. Great service and atmosphere. The food amazing would have no problem recommending the place.

Excellent family centered restaurant with various participation games. 4 lane skittle alley. Excellent restaurant, menu available online. Airskittles, pool table, rifle range, board games etc. Advisable to pre-book the combination of skittles and meal. Outside play area in the summer and extensive carparking. Disabled access and parking.

I booked a party for 24 people at Country skittles. The welcome was friendly, the staff worked really hard, the food we pre ordered was sent out hot and all together so we could all enjoy our food together. The atmosphere was great and the skittles was such fun. Thank you

Great afternoon here yesterday playing skittles & then food for 14 of us including 2 wheelchair users. Couldn’t have been better & nothing was too much trouble. Food was excellent & was all served at the same time. Would highly recommend.
