Count House Cafe in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

This place runs out of items really quickly when busy and that was really disappointing. Several items on the menu weren't available when we went. We had to wait 30 minutes for our food to arrive and that was only after reminding staff we were still waiting. The view is breathtaking. The staff are lovely but we won't return as we can't be sure of what food will be available when we get there.

Fab cream tea with gorgeous jam, the best Cornish pasties ever and HUGE ham, egg and chips for not a lot of money. Really lovely view (weather permitted) and friendly staff. A great end to a damp,cold tour of the fab Geevor Mine

This is fairly local to us and it is a favourite for so many reasons. We visited on Tuesday 27 August which was a wet day, so lots and lots of people queuing for a seat in the cafe. The staff managed the turnaround of people finishing their meal and seating people in the queue superbly. The staff, almost all female are young and they certainly work very hard. They are the best crew I’ve come across, they are all polite, helpful and smiley…all the time!!! Our food arrived less than ten minutes after ordering, a small portion of ham egg and chips( which I’m told was brilliant, home cooked and hand carved ham, fabulous chips and an egg fried to perfection, with coleslaw and side salad….declared the best anywhere! My pasty ( ordered because I had them before) was again the best anywhere ( a real accolade in Cornwall). Margaret….pastry, filling fabulous…keep doing them. Our bill was so reasonable too. Often, I am cautious about recommending anywhere…not so in this case. Thank you to everyone involved there, you are simply the best!!

This unassuming cafe at the Greevor Mine was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Cornwall. The cafe was packed but the host was kind and got us a table quickly. A few items had been sold out but everything our family ordered was delicious. Everything from wraps, soups, sandwiches, barbecue topped chips, and 3 types of high teas were served. Very high quality food served with crisps and salads. The portions were very generous so we all took home sandwich baggies to eat leftovers for dinner. My only regret was none of us had room to eat any of the tantalizing deserts. Coffees, teas, juices, and soft drinks were available. And I really enjoyed my Oat Cappuccino.

We visited the Count House café twice whilst on a visit to the Geevor Tin Mine on a Wednesday in May during a weeklong visit to Cornwall. Our initial visit was whilst visiting the mine works buildings prior to visiting the Wheal Mexico works. The café is very light and airy with a high ceiling and large picture windows giving views out over the industrial landscape towards the sea. There is a good amount of seating here and many tables were either taken or in the case of the ones by the windows, reserved. We enjoyed a cup of tea / coffee before continuing our tour of the site. Our second visit of the day came later in the afternoon after returning from the Levant Mine. On this occasion the café was much quieter and we managed to get a window seat to enjoy the view. We had hot drinks and a large slice of cake from the counter to keep us going until dinner time. On both occasions the café was clean and well organised and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The slice of cake we had on our second visit was huge, and very nice too! I understand from other comments on this site that the café may be used independent of visiting the mine and we would certainly recommend a visit if you are in the area.

We popped in here for breakfast, been before and decoded it was time to revisit. Good cafe with a fantastic grand picture window. Dog friendly with helpful and friendly staff. We had two small breakfasts which Inc a regular drink in the price. Bit disgruntled to flat flatwhite is £1 per drink more, even though a "standard" coffee is much less than this on the menu.

After having visited the mine we stopped off for some refreshments. The view in the cafe is great and the staff were very friendly. The tea cakes are massive and absolutely delicious.

We were shocked by this place, in a good way! The view is incredible, the staff were helpful, the prices were reasonable. Food was great, portion size was generous. Amazing vegan options & dog friendly. We honestly couldn’t have asked for more! :)

We booked a table, which is advised here as its very popular being attached to the mine. We got in just in time for breakfast and enjoyed a small full English and a veggie breakfast as well. The views out of the expansive picture windows are incredible with the Atlantic spread out below you. Dog friendly as well which is a bonus!

We always try and have at least one visit to The Count House when in Cornwall (which is not infrequent) and once again we weren't disappointed! Exceptional home cooked, locally sourced food. Amazing breakfasts, home cooked pasties and pancakes to die for! Much better than the best pancakes we have had in America. Home made cakes - we have never had anything which wasn't superb here. If Count House can do it, why can't other restaurants? Yes, I guess it's hard work behind the scenes - but so worth it for us and such a treat. Thank you Count House team!!!

I recently had lunch at the cafe at Geevor Mine with a large group of friends. The meals had been pre-ordered and appeared prompt and freshly cooked. The staff managed our group very well whilst also seeing to the requirements of other users. Overall, a very good cafe

Popped in for lunch before we visited Geevor and then had a cuppa afterwards. Friendly, helpful staff serving a cafe style menu with local produce centre of the menu.

They did a nice cream tea here for a reasonable price. Great sea views but pity there’s no outside seating as it got quite warm inside. This cafe is within the Geevor Mine museum site.

We popped into this wonderful cafe on route to Sennen for a well deserved break and wow, we chose well! The cafe is free to get to, parking in the main carpark for free, for the mine, and follow the path left. As you wonderful through the cafe you enter a very impressive building with the most magnificent picture window that overlooks the wild and rugged coastline and seascape. We both opted for the full English, really good ingredients all sourced locally and cooked very well. Staff pleasant, chatty and happy which made for a lovely atmosphere. What it's all about, very worth while visiting.

We stopped at the Count House Cafe for coffee after our visit to Geevor Tin Mine, but were led astray by a delicious looking iced Bakewell Tart! It didn't disappoint; the pastry was light and crumbly and the filling moist and tasty.
