Côte Teddington in Richmond upon Thames

Had breakfast complete on a sunny Saturday. Attentive service and the food was back to the standard that used to exist in Cote a few years back before all the “value engineering” took priority. Enjoyable.

Service was bad, a lot of waiting around, the cocktail was poor (think it was just poured out of a bottle) and came at the same time as the food 🤷‍♀️. dirty old carrots garnished my starter, the steak was undercooked and cold. Cote in Teddington used to be so good, what’s happened??

We had a birthday breakfast for my daughter and we had a lovely time. The staff were very attentive and made her feel very special. As usual, we loved the food and the atmosphere. Thank you!

If there were 0 stars I would have done that. Andrea has an attitude, not good for the reputation of this place as it seemed nice at first.Average food, everything was cold, for good 15 min we had to look for someone to speak to

I really enjoyed my birthday meal here today, the crab maison was delicious, the confit duck was perfectly cooked with a lovely tangy orange sauce and the chocolate fondant was wonderful. The complimentary Cremant was a really nice surprise.

Previous visits have been to a much higher standard .

Nicolo and the team at Côte Teddington are fabulous. We hosted a family dinner in the private dining room and everything was so seamless. The food, drinks and service were great and we can’t thank you enough for your hospitality. We had a wonderful evening!

My friend needs a wheelchair and finds it very difficult to get in and out of cars. Thanks to Hayley and Solly, that was no problem. Likewise Stefano who helped my friend into the car when we left. They could not have been kinder or more helpful. Such thoughtful kindness is very much appreciated. Huge thanks to Hayley, Solly and Stefano. A credit to Cote.

We were a group of six, and had dinner here. Decent place, good service, food was average. Our steaks was underwhelming especially since I was craving a good steak. The meat itself didn't feel good, and didn't meet my expectations.

50+ visits over the years. It's always wonderful.

Thank you to the male member of staff who ensured we had a quiet table because of a hearing disability and was remarkable in his management on such a busy Friday night. He even popped out of the restaurant to say goodnight to us! We were very impressed, make sure you retain him Cote, he is such a credit to your business. (so sorry I don't have his name).

Fifi and Zek made our night so great. We were out for a rare family meal to treat ourselves and they made every moment worthwhile at Côte. They were helpful with changing our food choices to suit our dietary requirements and taking care to make sure everything was brought out as and when we were ready. They made us feel at ease and created a warm atmosphere. Thank you! The food was also delicious, especially the moules frites, the mushroom bourgignon and the pear financier.

Shocking experience from the moment we arrived, young staff who haven't a clue, won't bore you with all the small details, but warm starters came before any drinks, when we told them we wanted our wine first, they didn't take them back to the kitchen but left on the side, the rest of our experience is too appalling so we just left.

I had a lovely time at Cote Teddington. The restaurant is situated in a charming high street, with a cosy and elegant interior. The food was superb and fresh, with a wide range of dishes to choose from. I particularly liked the Moules Frites, which were tender and flavourful, and the Crème Brûlée, which was creamy and crunchy. The wine list was extensive, with a variety of French wines to suit every palate. The service was warm and attentive, and the staff made us feel very special. I would highly recommend Cote Teddington to anyone looking for a quality French meal in a friendly atmosphere.

My daughter organised a Surprise dinner for my birthday the other night and Cotê did not disappoint. The food was wonderful, the ambiance was perfect and to top it all, the staff looked after us so well. Special mention to Richard the manager who is so welcoming and attentive, thank you! The cooking in this restaurant is not of a professional standard. The wine list is unimaginative. Really ordinary, mass produced, chemical laden bottles are an incentive to become teetotal. And the mark-up!!😲 We were deceived into visiting the restaurant by believing assertions that we would enjoy a French bistro dining experience . I've eaten better food in French motorway catering outlets. I can't imagine what induces people to part with their hard earned cash at places like this.

Great staff Andrea & Sam. They even had a card on the table as it was my birthday. Treated to some extras worry dessert etc which was unexpected and really lovely. Food was amazing. Beautiful restaurant. Only improvement would be for the toilets... not bad but could do with moreregular clean up

Excellent service. The staff were friendly and attentive and the meal was really delicious and served promptly. Great atmosphere.

Went for a work Christmas lunch where we had pre-ordered our food. Service was appallingly slow - it took an hour for us to get 4 starters. We had to ask for the plates to he cleared. No one asked how the food or service was. No one topped up our water or asked if we wanted more drinks. They forgot one main meal which arrived after the rest of us had finished. And one of our group had to leave before desserts as we had been there for 2 hours and she had somewhere else to go. The food was ok but I won't be returning

Love Cote, Teddington, service & food always good.

Musak was being played. It was ghastly. I was with a large group over…. 60 years plus. It ruins any hearing of each other… which is surely why you go out for a happy supper. I a very noisy restaurant, everyone talked louder and louder. We ALL want to thank the staff for turning the noise right down when I made a very polite and clear request. Well done, that team. Dreadfully done, head office. Musak of any sort NOT NECESSARY NOR appreciated.

A really wide choice of well-cooked food at reasonable prices. Excellent service, and doesn't feel crowded even when busy.

Just come from France and this rates better than some places I ate at in Paris. Nothing different but basics done well.

This review is to Cote generally, not just Teddington which is the location I mainly go. I have been going to Cote for years, mainly for breakfast and sometimes dinner. They used to have an offer that included juice and a warm beverage and this was a motivating factor for going. They stopped doing this which I understood given cost of living and all. What is not great is the new higher cost comes with less food...amount and quality. I used to receive 3 homemade sausages but now it is down to 1 store bought and this has 100% made me feel they no longer care about me as a customer. As a vegetarian I usually stay well clear of french restaurants but Cote always did a good job of catering to veggie options mainly through the homemade sausages they made. When I go out Im expecting someone to prepare food for me...not open a box and cook it. Unfortunately restaurants are not considering that vegetarians and vegans are getting stuck with the same store bought products everywhere we go. You make an effort to prepare meals for meat eaters....would be great if you could revert to the same consideration you used to give us. Until then - this place is a miss for me.

Food was good when the order was taken correctly and then bought to us correctly. Service absolutely awful!!!! Waiting for order to be taken and food to come out was unbelievably slow. Will be trying another branch in future for sure!!! Generous 3 stars due to when food finally came out correctly, it was good.

The food is decent and reasonably priced, although surprised not to see some sort of roast on a Sunday. The service is friendly and helpful, but slow, especially as the restaurant was about 65% full. So much so we forewent dessert as we had been there 1hr45mins for 2 courses by that point.

Great restaurant, lovely food and fantastic service from the lovely Natalia! We were the nightmare table - 6 people on a Sunday night for a birthday dinner including a screaming toddler, an overwhelmed first time mother and an elderly lady who is allergic to palm oil! However Natalia went above and beyond to welcome us and smooth everything over, nothing was too much trouble. She was patient, calm and so very kind. Natalia made sure that the child’s meal was served within 10 minutes meaning that her mother didn’t have to take her home and patiently reviewed the menu checking the dishes to ensure that what was ordered didn’t contain palm oil. She has the patience of a saint and should be highly commended. I can’t thank Natalia and the team at Cote Teddington enough for everything they did to ensure that the birthday dinner went without a hitch!

Very warm and friendly greeting from Richard. Attentive service. Superb food. The Baked Camembert and Mushroom Bourguignon were exceptionally delicious - first time I’ve had them, even though I visit other Cotes. Extremely impressed and thoroughly enjoyed my visit. Thank you Richard!

A fabulous lunch with the family. Always reliable with the quality of the food & so lovely & French Having lived in Paris for 8 years they certainly live up to a true French restaurant/bistro.

Just had a meal to forget. Seven of us sat down to enjoy a birthday meal, which was pretty much spoiled by the food quality. Calimari was Inedible, the "salad" which came with the chicken and the quiche was just a few stray lettuce leaves. Even the cheese board was disappointing. Staff were friendly, but that doesn't camouflage the lack of value for money. Overpriced and left still hungry. Won't be going back and will avoid the other restaurants in this chain.

It's a franchise but not all of them are the same. Teddington has a better atmosphere, more attentive and courteous staff. Most of us know how to cook. We eat out for the experience. Customer service seems to be a lost art in the United Kingdom in general. Not so at Teddington Cote. Take notes Richmond and Chiswick branches.

We went to Cote on Sunday morning for breakfast. Nice service by friendly staff, great food & good setting, we will definitely be going again.

Had stayed in Teddington Fri night after a concert and completed park run at Bushy sat morning and wanted somewhere for breakfast. Knew that Cote had a vegan option so popped in. The service was polite and professional. I had the vegan cooked breakfast and wife had the vegan yogurt bowl. Both really tasty and well presented. There was an awkward couple on an adjacent table that were moaning about their order being wrong and other things later. I thought the staff handled them well. You can't please all the people all the time. Would defo come back next time we're in the area. Thanks.

Great service as usual, good food

I like the food but the maitre d is obnoxious. In an almost empty restaurant I was ignored for 10 minutes and when I asked for service I was given an obnoxious reply by the maitred and told to wait until she’s finished what she was doing. There are lots of places to eat with far less rude staff.

Stopped off for a Sunday breakfast atmosphere service and food very good Highley recommended and they had live music a saxophone player with a backing tape playing brilliant 👏 👌

We had the pleasure of dining at Cote during our first visit to Teddington, UK. It was a highly enjoyable experience. We ordered the sea bass which was excellent. Our server was very attentive. The establishment was very conscious to cater to people with dietary restrictions and food allergies. I would recommend on your next visit to Teddington!

Service was great, food and drinks were served on time. We including our 2-years old toddler enjoyed our delicious lunch and friendly and helpful staff. I would recommend the Sea Bream Nantais and Salmon Croquettes!

Very relaxed and enjoyable evening. The food was tasty and well presented. The staff are very attentive, polite and accommodating. Food was great, service was good, although we sat near the bar and they kept serving us across the bar, very strange. Place was a little noisy, not much in the way of soft furnishings to reduce the noise.

Good friendly service, however, disappointing that portion sizes seem smaller than the last visit altho prices are definitely higher.

We had booked a table with our friends, who we had not seen since 2020. We always use Côte Brasserie as a safe go to normally the Kingston or Wimbledon Village brasseries. On this occasion both my husband and I were very diasappointed in our steak and frites. The steak was chewy and the chips were uncooked. My husbands calamari were over cooked and therefore chewy too!!!! My beetroot salad was the only saving grace. It was delicious. Why didn t we say anything on Saturday??? Because we had come out to meet our friends and did not want to destroy that moment.!!!!! A very disappointed regular Côte custumer

03/23 - Big thank you to Robin for remembering me from my previous visits, and hello to Nico who had always been a joy to see. This is my local Cote and i love it. Friendly staff and good food. Some days they go ott on oil in food *depends on the chef i guess but overall good atmosphere and good food.

We had a lovely time and a delicious meal at Cote Brasserie Teddington .It’s my birthday weekend and they made it special for us. Excellent ,friendly ,attentive service and delicious food .and wine .Perfect combination !Thank you so much ! I can’t wait to visit again !

Lovely experience. Staff were kind. Rose wine was lovely. Port was beautiful. Ordered the sirloin steak which came well done as asked not burnt. Chocolate fondant for dessert was perfect. Sat by the window and it was just a great experience. Would 100% recommend.

Went for the set lunch and was pleasantly surprised to see some non standard dishes on offer with the set menu. It seems you need to be an early customer to get the full range of the menu, however we had a reasonable range of dishes and started with pork terrine and soup both very nice; then mains were coq au vin and what I thought would be a hachis parmentier, it turned out to be a rather bland small cottage pie with a cheese topping, not quite what I expected. The coq au vin was pronounced really good. With one cheeseboard, a bottle of wine and good service the total was about £65.

Very bad service the tomatoes supposed to be grilled and not just thrown in a plate. The sausage was missing from my breakfast and had to ask the waiter. I got a sausage clearly cooked and then microwaved. Avoid

Called in at Cote Teddington today for lunch. Great food and service outstanding value on the Prix Fixe menu and we will definitely return.

I went there for lunch on New Year's eve with family. The staff were very friendly and the food was delicious

The burger was just OK; I didn't like the meat for the burger very much. They had only 2 out of 5 steaks in the menu.

Sent food back replacement was even worse. Gave them lots of opportunities to put right but unfortunately this didn’t happen. The bill came and they tried to charge me for the food I’d refused ☹️ I will not be returning

Best birthday ever--a warm welcome, complimentary bubbly, delicious food all round, perfect service & even a choral birthday greeting! To top it all off, I got my first try at a Stannah chair lift to loos. The whole experience was top notch. Thank you!

This was my first visit to Côte Teddington, and it was a really good experience. Staff were friendly & attentive, without being overly so, & I must mention Jade who excelled. I had an elderly friend with me, & she was so patient. My friend had the fillet steak & frites, along with a tomato salad, and I had the Breton fish stew. Both meals were excellent and cooked to perfection, so we were both very happy. My fish stew was really tasty, & my greedy side would have loved more, but then I’d have had no room for dessert 🍮. I opted for the salted caramel chocolate tart, which was amazing. My friend had the raspberry sorbet and strawberry ice cream. She loved it and neither of us left anything, so that speaks volumes. I would gladly go back anytime and will be trying their breakfast, that’s for sure. Maybe the group could investigate a loyalty club, as I’d definitely return mote often. Happy to recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Excellent food and service. Main menu doesn't change too often so you can easily find your favourites but they do have specials and deals which are worth considering. Will be back quite soon.
