Breakfast stop at Côte Restaurant I was out on one of my morning walks looking for a good breakfast spot and came across Côte Restaurant after reading a bunch of reviews. When I walked in, I was seen a few times but wasn’t acknowledged right away. Eventually, I got a seat outside, and my server showed up—didn’t look too thrilled to be working that early, but honestly, I probably had the same look on my face. I ordered the green juice (which was really good!) and the Garden Breakfast—definitely recommend it if you’re not into pork. The food hit the spot. By the end of the meal, the two ladies working warmed up a bit and actually gave me a real smile, which I appreciated. Sometimes that tiny gesture makes all the difference. Food gets a solid 5 stars from me. Service? Maybe a 3 based on that first impression—but I’d still come back to try their lunch or dinner. The menu looks great and I’d love to see what the vibe is like later in the day. Cheers, BN

I went there on my birthday and had the worst meal of my life. I ordered a steak and it was as thin as a piece of paper it was absolutely right from the freezer and the worst kind of steak you could get. The chips… I prefer Macdonald’s😭 and the orange juice I got was like a bottle of orange juice you got in the shop and you pour it into a glass. So bloody expensive as well. Please don’t go.

2024/25 Update: it WAS my favourite restaurant in Kingston. It has gone down hill . Breakfast is no way near as good as it used to be. And they added "cassoulet with eggs and harissa" to their breakfast menu? Apart from the fact that there are No darn eggs in Cassoulet and that harissa is a North African spice which should NOT be in that dish either, Cassoulet is ALWAYS A Main course, Not a Breakfast. It is also a Southern French institution. This is disgusting. If Cote tried to serve this monstrosity in SW France, they wouldn't have a restaurant left. People would be up in arms like I am. Cote restaurant is now making a total mockery of French cuisine . Haven't set foot there in a year..and we used to go every week in the past.

Cote is always my go-to place when there is family occassion. Love the atmosphere, variety and taste of food and choice of wine.

Have been a few times and it's consistently good with great food in a lovely location. We were served by Amelia and she was truly wonderful; friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. She made our visit today extra special, nothing was too much trouble, she engaged with our toddler which was lovely and made us feel welcome and at ease which is not always the case when dining with a 2 year old! She is a star 🌟 and we will most definitely be back! Thank you

At the end of the art class, the lighting was turned up full for taking photos. We diners were told it would only be for a short while. Unfortunately when asked to turn it down again the staff claimed it was not possible to do so and we spent the rest of our evening under full glaring lights. Most uncomfortable, irritating and unwelcoming. Add mediocre food to the mix and it was a very disappointing birthday party.

Hi there, Im leaving this bad review only for manager that she was pretending like it was busy table out, but she had 3 empty table out free, it was me my wife and my baby, she keep insisting that I have to sit inside just because i was with buggy. Check CCTV, 05/04/2025 time 16:05-16:30(table still empty), me waiting outside she keep saying we have reservation just cuz of the buggy. Very disappointed by service over-here. I don't recommend not one to stop over there when you see the lady manager "with the glasses". This with the glasses i didnt write to be rude but just you to know which one exactly im talking about. I get that aswell name of manager on duty and manager are Jolanda amd Charlie.

Only reason I gave it 2 star is because of the lack of customer service. Sat down at 3:10 - didn't have our order taken until 3:45pm. I was trying to treat my Mother for Mother's Day so this offended me. People had come after us, been seated and served after me. Eventually once the food started to come out it was already 3:55pm for the starters onwards. Otherwise food is typical for the Cotes chain of restaurants however, if you're a fan of the brand - avoid peak times (evenings, weekends and bank holidays) as the current management don't have their team properly trained to deal with more than 70-80% capacity. They need to learn from their other branches. Overall 2/5 won't recommend.

We had a lovely Mother’s Day/Birthday breakfast here today. The staff were attentive and kind, everyone wished us a Happy Mothers Day with a smile. The food was wonderful too. Thank you for having us.

Everything was great I had steak and my partner had salmon everything was cook just right we were visiting from jersey staff were so good would recommend will be going back next time were in kingston well done

I highly recommend a lunch at Cote on their terrace by the river , you’ll have a great time , especially if you’re lucky to be taken care of by so lovely and so warm Diogo ! He will make your experience even nicer !

I had no idea that the food isn’t made fresh. I was told the staff that my burger was made LAST WEEK. It was rubbery and inedible - disgusting!

Sadly my last time to eat at cote. Not told but they don't accept cash. As cash is legal tender....if I was informed I would not have chosen this resturant. The girl who came with my bill was super sweet but cotes policy is terrible. Bye cote I will be eating else where.

Literally just dined in at this restaurant, absolutely loved the service. The staff was so kind and patient with our table’s dietary restrictions and preferences. We were served by Maria and Shruti ( both of them amazing! ). Never seen a manager so hands on, Isabella was so sweet, kind and professional. Great service. Amazing food. Definitely a must visit.

Today, we visited this restaurant and unfortunately, our experience wasn’t great. From the unwelcoming demeanor of the person at the reception to a few of the waiters who clearly seemed disengaged and unhappy, the overall attitude was far from pleasant. I just ask that you take care of your employees, and if they’re not happy, please try to find a solution to improve their situation.

My favourite restaurant in Kingston and today was no exception! Went this evening for my birthday and Jaye’s service was absolutely remarkable - such a kind soul who provided us with everything we needed! The food, service and atmosphere is the highest quality possible and we are so grateful for such an amazing evening ✨

Fantastic fillet steak as part of the steak soiree. Excellent wine. Thanks to our waiter Felipe for his really good and attentive service.

Took a table outside with two other tables occupied around us, and a couple more just having left. In direct line of sight of the front desk and we were ignored for a solid 20 minutes. Went to ask for service and told 'oh, we won't be serving you because we can't assure excellent service.' Pointed out that the table next to us was just recieving their order, met with 'they're just leaving'. Left, are elsewhere and walked past an hour later - voila, service restored for customers outside. Pretty consistent with other examples of service quality in reviews. Much better service at literally any of the adjoining restaurants and can recommend the Lebanese place next door for service and much better food.

Great location and atmosphere, but disappointing service. It was a Thursday evening first week in the New year and the restaurant was relatively quiet.Great location and beautiful seating with a view over Thames. We ordered different dishes. Disappointingly our starters (soup) came before our drinks, and the waiter did not bring any cutlery. It took us a few minutes to get attention of our waitress to bring us spoons whilst the soup was getting cold. We also had to remind about our drinks several times. When my steak was served, it did not come with any sauce, regrettably, I had not been prompted by the waitress, when ordering my steak, to order sauce, and it did not occurred to me (perhaps it is my fault) that I had to order my sauce separately. The food was of very good quality, and I would not hesitate to go back as it is my local restaurant, but it would be nice if the waiters were trained to serve drinks first and make sure customers do not have to ask for cutlery whilst food getting cold.

Had dinner on New Year’s Eve. It was absolutely amazing! Superb atmosphere, friendly and professional Staff and the food was also great. We’ll be visiting again!!

Horrible experience,I was noticed that the payments must be sorted by card once we was arrived on there,then when I asked for the bill,one guy probably the manager come to us and in a total arrogance,told us I’m a rude way that will be not a acepted.He ask even to my friend pay it for me.. Then he turned his back and left saying that I was refusing to pay, We didn't believe it, we got up and went to one of the waiters where I managed to pay the bill.Dusgusting experience.Monday 23/12 4pm ish.

That day was special for me. I was goimg for a date with someone very close to Me. Obviesly You must to chose a charming place for it. What can be better and romantic than Dinner at riverside. So I choose This particular place as I have eaten there before and had good memories. About the food its only Few words You can describe it. Delicious, delicate, excellent and mouth watering. We had starter, chesse and selection of meat board, for main I went for Seafood stew wich was outer space(that good) The Lady I was with had a pork belly. I had a bite of it, belive me I got goosebumps! Amazing place for Dates! Atmosphere and service was 100/10 They know What they do!! Well skilled and informed Staff. Place look clean and charming. Realy Place to go for! Thank You!

We always get great service at Cote Kingston. Our son is autistic and always relaxes in there despite the busy atmosphere. Food is excellent too.

Arrived for a birthday meal at lunchtime by a cold November day ,5c outside , to be greeted by a restaurant manager who clearly explained there was no heating in the restaurant and that it was very cold inside. Opted to stay but unfortunately the service was equally frosty and inhospitable. 15mn for someone to take our order & altogether we had to wait 50mn before we saw our dish arrive ...no attempts to compensate for the freezing restaurant by offering a hot drink on the house or the wait for the food . Once finished, plates were not cleared so in the end and after patiently waiting , we went to pay at the counter and opted to get desert somewhere warmer and more professional . Sincerely guys, one would expect Cote to have someone repair the heating system straight away or else learn to manage the situation better . Don't get into the hospitality business if you can't offer it !

I was at a dinner with co-workers and we all had a great experience. The atmosphere is beautiful, the service is friendly and it doesn't take long for the food to be brought out. The food then... delicious. Starter, main course, dessert and wine, everything was perfect.

My husband and I went to Cote 8th November. The food was good so was the service, but it was so noisy. I know the customers were partly to blame, but there are ways of reducing the sound by hanging items from the ceiling to reduce the noise. I spoke to some people sitting outside, and they said that is why they were eating there.

Very bad service, especially manager in the entrance. We brought food for out little son because he eat only what we have and we'll order for us anyway. But they refused to give us a seat. Very poor hospitality and never coming again!

We really enjoyed this restaurant! We went twice. The first time we sat outside because the weather was nice and the second time inside. Enjoyed both settings. The food was lovely and the service both times very professional. I would definitely try this restaurant in its other locations as well.

The worst breakfast I have had in a very long time. Everything freezing, service took so long that I couldn’t face asking for a hot meal. Portions ridiculously small! Waiter asked how it was, I told him it was disappointing and cold, he didn’t acknowledge my feedback and just simply walked off. Unless you want cold, sloppy food - do not visit. So annoyed with the whole experience that I’m sitting writing this whilst in the restaurant….after we asked for the bill for the second time.

Rude manager turned us away despite clearly loads of space. I can only assume because we had a new born. She was incredibly rude. Won’t bother ever returning.

Got a cab all the way there just to be told we can’t sit and eat because we haven’t made a reservation. For 11:50 in the morning? When the whole of the outside (20+ tables) are empty and we wanted to sit down for breakfast for 20 minutes. Ridiculous and not even worth booking. Shitty place

Went to lunch with family on a beautiful weekend. The food is good, especially the pork belly. Our host, Anne provided us with a wonderful experience. She is cheerful, helpful and professional. Cote is lucky to have hired a host like Anne, rare to see anywhere else.

Professional staff and good food. I usually go there for dinner and they never disappoint.

Part of the chain so consistent across food and ambience parameters. Forgot to bring the kids meals, which we had ordered 10mins before adults' to ensure they delivered early. Its was busy wk before Xmas but still... Manager remedied immediately, and service very attentive thereafter. Manager also removed 1 kids mean from bill... a very reasonable attempt to make amends. I therefore rate service highly as we all make mistakes but how u try to remedy is the real show of service.

We had a really lovely lunch for my mum’s birthday - the food was great (especially recommend the fish stew), the service was really quick but in particular the team are all so welcoming and friendly. Great atmosphere, definitely recommend.

All the staff were friendly and helpful. They serve you promptly but do not hurry you. The salads were fresh and crunchy. The steak was cooked a perfect medium rare and condiments were offered with the plate. It was a very busy service but it did not impact on our meal

Everything was great! The Bulgarian waiter (apologies I can't recall your name) that served me was very attentive and made me feel very welcome as a lone diner looking for a nice place to eat! The set menu is great value and definitely recommended. Thank you!

The food was good, but we live in the UK, I'm not sure why there's a 10% service fee. I highly doubt this is translated into server tips anyway. We have a minimum wage. Countries that tip tend to not have a minimum wage.

Lovely dinner and drinks - we had a table outside with a view of the river which was nice. Calamari starter was excellent. As was the sirloin steak. The green beans were a little over done but tasted fine - everything else was great. I would recommend booking if you are looking for an outside table.

Came here for our anniversary and didn't regret it. We were attended to immediately and offered a free glass of prosecco to celebrate our anniversary. Excellent location, lovely attentive staff and very good food. Highly recommended.

Very nice atmosphere for a sunny hot day. Had some amazing service from Paula and Maria. Very polite and engaging.

I have come here quite a few times before and have had a quite good experience. The atmosphere and overall cleanliness of the restaurant was very good and we were seated quickly and given menus with a wide range of options. The entrées were very tasty and we found the warm tomato salad especially impressive, the main meals and desert were also delicious however I have noticed that the place has become victim to shrinkflation as some of my favorite dishes were being served in smaller portions the same or increased price. Otherwise it was definitely a good experience however it is too expensive to come back again often.

We had a drink by the river with a view. It is definitely a very cute business. The staff is friendly and the service is fast. I recommend it.

We walked in to see if we could sit by the river & have dinner. We was met by a horrible looking lady with a black bob who turned us away and was extremely rude. We will not be going anywhere near this place.

I ordered the three-course lunch menu. My first course was deep fried whitebaits but I think they’ve forgotten to season them! My main was steak frites and I added £1 to upgrade the chips to truffle chips. When my main came, I completely forgot that I gave upgraded the chips to truffle chips and the chips did not taste truffle at all. I only realised when I almost finished them but there were a few left in the cup which they used to put the chips so I called their waiter/waitress for help. The first waitress told me she would speak to the manager and she was very helpful. Then when I saw no one came to confirm what they would do about it, I spoke to another waiter (main in glasses with black hair) and he was not helpful at all. He seemed to question my motive despite that i asked him to smell the remaining chips to confirm they did not smell of truffle at all. He also said, “but you have finished it!” (The exclamation mark described his tone of voice and what he said they said was not true because there were still some left in the cup and some on my plate). So I explained to him that yes I only realised I have indeed added £1 to upgrade the chips to truffle chips almost towards the end of my lunch. Truffle has a very distinct taste and so misunderstanding was impossible. In the end he said he would speak to the manager and the manager (a woman in red suit jacket) came. I explain to her my situation again and she was immediately very helpful and told me they had removed the £1 from my bill. I hope the male waiter (in glasses with black hair) would be more empathetic to his customers and understand that if I want to cheat, I would not cheat them for £1!!!!!!! I have repeatedly asked him to smell the chips but he refused!!!

The decor is beautifully done, with specific elements that I liked, such as the lighting, seating, artwork, and more. Côte exceeded my expectations in every way. Côte is one of our favourites and Côte in Kingston didn’t disappoint. Lovely lunch by the river and special thanks to Diego our waiter who has been so kind and thoughtful.

Lunched on Monday, today. 4 of us had the 3 course menu. Everything was excellent. The Parfait was amazing and the thinly sliced and toasted baguette went well, but not enough, but we were given more when asked. The Steak and Frites was totally perfect. Amazing taste and pink in the middle for such a thin steak. Seabass was great. Deserts all top quality (crepe, raspberry and lemon sorbet, choc mouse, kids waffle). Service was top notch. Very busy outside but we sat in the less busy indoors at the back. We were all full at the end.

Average at best and a little uncomfortable at the cleanliness. Service is lovely, the location is perfect and atmosphere is good. The table linen and cleanliness of the cutlery is a question. My napkin was stained as was the saucer. Both had not been washed properly. The coffee tasted fine. The avocado on toast was just awful. The bread was not toasted and soggy under the avocado. The micro greens were wilted and looked like they'd been out for a while. Don't get me started on the potion/price ratio. The slices of toast were just sad. Two slices out of a baguette cut horizontally. The avocado was less than a half of a very small avocado, spread like butter. Everything tasted average and not terrible. Quality has been sliding downhill here recently. A few weeks ago had the pork belly which came out burnt and extremely salty. Classic case of post COVID attitude, less for more £££. Was in the mood to get wine and desserts but cut it short.
