Poor food, Poor service. Sadly gone dramatically downhill in the last few months

I bring my mother to Côte most Thursdays. We love our visits. The staff are so kind, welcoming and attentive. We throroughly enjoy trying different meals each week and haven't regretted any of our choices. I couldn't recommend the place highly enough.

I really enjoyed the food at this restaurant! The breakfast was really lovely and ended up splitting the apple tarte tatin for dessert and it was gorgeous!! The only issue was sitting outside can get very uncomfortable due to the cobble stones making an uneven surface. It's not great for a steady table or chair. If you have back or leg issues I'd definitely reccomend nabbing a table inside if you can for a more comfortable experience

Visited for lunch. Lovely staff and a nice menu. Food was good quality. Enough variety on the lunch menu for most palettes. We had the sharing Sunday roast which was excellent. .

Our go to, reliable and usually consistent restaurant, but... The menu has changed! The steak frité is as it always was, but the creamed spinach has changed to a creamed spinach gratin - not good. The previously beautiful creamy spinach is now a watery under-done skimpy on the cream and cheese addition disappointment. Change is good if it's better or as good as what it has replaced, but this was unpalatable. The staff were great and explained the menu change and took the chewy leaves off the bill. But please Mr Côte, bring back the original. Oh yes, and the Breton Chicken please. Thank you in anticipation...

Really busy on a bank holiday Friday, but still got attentive service from someone who wanted to make our experience special. Thanks team.

Chocolate fondant delicious. Setting on the terrace is really very pleasant. The chocolat chaud, however, was tasteless. No taste of chocolate whatsoever. Tasted like it was made with water. Give it a miss

An okay experience, Food was average. The main issue was the treatment of staff, it seemed some of the managers weren’t being kind to the servers, the servers were trying their best and were all very polite to us but they seemed too stressed out to deliver a good quality of service. It was a shame as you could hear all conversation between the staff- this really put us off our meal. The majority of the night we just couldn’t ignore how poorly some of the workers were being spoken to. For what you pay you really expect a better quality of service. We did individually tip one of the servers but we hope he was not made to put it in a jar to share out with others.

Good food, good service and a reasonable price. Not hurried at all.

We have visited Farnham Cote for many years and it never fails to deliver (We have had issues over the years, but always resolved) and last night we had a lovely meal for my daughters birthday. (Other branches are never as good), so thank you.

My wife and I recently enjoyed our wedding anniversary meal at Cote Farnham. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. From the very first interaction when I called to book and make some special arrangements the service was impeccable, friendly and exceeded expectations. We were treated like VIP’s from the moment we arrived and absolutely nothing was too much trouble. The food was outstanding, and I’m an Executive Chef with many years experience! It is very good value for money and Cote will certainly be our go to restaurant for special occasions or even if we just fancy a treat! If you haven’t yet you definitely need to try this absolute gem a little slice of Provence in Farnham

Really nice service during Valentines, the stewed beef cheeks were slightly saltier and not tender enough for my preferred taste but the calamari, potato dauphinois and creme caramel were really yummy

It was only once seated that I noticed that unlike other Cote restaurants I’d visited that the Farnham branch was very shabby in comparison. The drink I ordered from the menu wasn’t available so I ordered tea…. From there on, service was very slow. It took ages for someone to take our food order! When someone finally came over to ask what we wanted to eat, we were in two minds as to whether or not to leave! We asked that the food arrive promptly … and it did which pleased us as we were hungry! The food was just ok … average… but the salad was sadly limp. Before leaving we both used the toilet… it wasn’t marked… we only knew it was the toilet as others had been and returned, so we just followed suit! The toilets were unclean and very grubby indeed! All in all, it was a very under whelming experience which left us disappointed with the food, service, surroundings and cleanliness! We won’t return!

Sadly very poor service. Staff not really interested. Breton chicken in creamy sauce was in a thick stock and not cooked through. Said manager would come to.speak to us but didn't. Very strange behaviour as no explanation.

Food was disappointing in terms of quality and portion size considering the high cost compared to most chain restaurants. But service was good and the surroundings pleasant.

Really lovely food. But tables very small, when I go with a friend always put on tiny tables even though 4 seaters free. Always rearranging things so drinks etc can fit. Also tables extremely close to each other, can hear every word adjacent diners are saying.

The best restaurant my wife and I have been to this month. Superb food, very busy but not noisy. Easy to get to. The duck confit was flavoursome with orange and red cabbage.

Food good as usual but service disappointing - staff stood at counter with their backs to the restaurant so impossible to get their attention for a glass of water or the bill!!

Excellent food and drinks. We were a bit crammed in as we were a large group could've done with a larger table. Otherwise would've given a 5.

In a pre Christmas period, when the restaurant was full,the level of service could not be faulted.

We went on Xmas eve and the service was exceptional as a family we didn't feel treated any other different than other customers although the restaurant was very busy. The food was excellent the staff fantastic and attention to detail was superb thank and Happy New Year

Used this restaurant several times a year since it opened. Never a poor meal and we never complain. But Xmas menu was not good 2 weeks ago and today had Breton stew with next to no fish and 24 muscles! (I call that a plate of muscles) 2 prawns and no squid. I did mention it and was told it was probably cut backs because of price of fish!! Not what I want to hear. Charge me more and give me the meal I expected. Love this place so it’s sad I feel I don’t want to return.

Very disappointed with tonight's sirloin steak which came with an exceptionally large lump of fat/gristle, table of eight as a birthday celebration so only mentioned when table was cleared. Waiter said he reported it to chef, chef should not have sent this piece out, it should have been used another way. All other meals were very good, just this one that spoilt the evening for me.

OK restaurant, same as every other Cote but portions getting smaller by the visit. Don't consider it good value for money anymore. Needs to improve.

Food is good here, but the service is very slow. The staff need to sharpen up a bit and take a greater interest in families - especially those with younger children.

Negroni and Old fashioned cocktails were superb. There is plenty of choice in Farnham to eat out but the welcome at this Cote was so warm that we stayed for a meal and it was all very hot and so tasty. Lovely staff as well. Brilliant !

Food was great, menu had something for everyone in our party of 5 and everyone really enjoyed their food. It's in lovely setting in pedestrianised yard. There is a good wine list and staff were able to make some good recommendations based on taste. The staff were all very nice and attentive. Would definitely return.

Cote Brasserie in Farnham is a gem of a restaurant. My wife and I tried it for first time yesterday. We were absolutely delighted with the place. We ordered the CÔTE DE BOEUF (22OZ) to share. It was quite honestly one of the best beef steaks I've ever eaten. The meat was delicious and melted in the mouth. With a side order of creamed spinach and petite pois and frites it was a truly wonderful meal. We are going again and highly recommend. Bon appetite.

Service was good, but disappointed with the food. The tuna in the Niçoise salad was very, very dry, possibly from frozen. Lamb dish was also very chewy and dry. Quality use to be better, disappointing!

The service was amazing a bit slow however not impressed with the food. I had the fish pie and I couldn’t even eat it it was so over cooked and chewy…. Not even my partner could eat the pie went home hungry

Just left after a fabulous meal at Cotè in Farnham. From start to finish myself and my family where impressed. The restaurant was very busy for a Thursday lunch. Food was delicious and service was attentive. Declan and Qiniso where very accommodating. Thank you all - we will be back.

Great Prix Fixe menu enjoyed outside in the sunshine, a lovely unhurried meal. The Triple cooked Truffle fries were superb. Tasty, good quality and good service

My husband and I booked a large table at Cote in Farnham for our family and friends to celebrate the night before our wedding. We had initially booked the private room upstairs but due to an issue with the floor we were moved to the conversatory. Daniel took our booking via email and his communication and so amazing and so quick to respond too. They were so accommodating as our numbers quickly grew and when I had a slight panic that it was too much to organise ontop of a wedding in the same wedding my mind was put at ease with how simple they made. I wanted us all sat togeter (33 of us in the end) and for our guests to have a choice of the menu. With an easy pre order and the relaxed nature of the team it was amazing. They even decorated the room with fairy lights and flowers and some champagne to welcome our guests. The food was perfect and so many different orders I was so impressed that starters, mains and desserts were served in such a smooth service with no hiccups at all. Amazing team to be so proud of!

We were able to sit in the window table as it was the hottest day of the Summer and it was a very relaxed evening. Service, food and wine was exceptional. We chose starters of pate, crab, calamari, main course steak, burgers, fish and two deserts all full of flavour. Try the rose wine Anciens Temp it is good. There’s a large seating area outside with a buzzing atmosphere. Also Farnham is a very interesting town to walk around and worth a wander around the cobbled courtyards. There are several other choices on the menu to tempt us back.

Went here for brunch on a (fairly) busy Saturday. Granted it was particularly warm, but the staff seemed rather frazzled and overwhelmed despite not all the tables being filled. It took a long time for any drinks orders to be taken and when they did eventually arrive they forgot some of the drinks. Food when it came was then missing some of the order (frites) and by the time the attention of any staff could be gained, the rest of the food had been eaten and when the frites were duly brought out they were dry and empty from likely sitting under a heat lamp since the original order. Location and decor is nice, the food is fine if not exceptional, but the service was disappointing - it was a shame to see the manager spending most of her time speaking to friends or regulars she clearly knew as opposed to helping her younger and seemingly inexperienced staff who were clearly having a tough time.

Lovely venue for what ever meal you want. Good food at reasonable prices. Staff are very polite. Has outdoor seating.

As we do annually, we met up at Cote Farnham for my granddaughter's birthday celebrations Today being her 21st, we booked again. She was given a complimentary bottle of fizz, which was a lovely surprise. The food was excellent, but what makes this restaurant special is the staff. They are a very professional team, very attentive to your needs, so welcoming & friendly. A good sign is that’s it’s nearly always full of customers, hopefully as satisfied as we were. Thank you so much for our service.

On a Sunday morning at the end of August I went for a cooked “English” breakfast. When delivered, whilst the sausage and bacon were hot, the mushrooms, tomatoes and hash browns were cold. I was pressed for time so did not send it back. I just left most of everything uneaten, paid and left. I did, however, mention to the waitress why such a large amount of food had been left. Honestly, if you cannot serve your cooked breakfast hot…… I shall not go back to give then a second chance.

Fantastic meal out at Côte this evening with my family. Service was very friendly and welcoming, and our waiter was very helpful with any recommendations. The pork belly, chocolate fondant and almond financier dessert were particularly excellent. I was recommended the Fleur rosé spritz cocktail too - really great, I'll be ordering that again as well! Thank you for a great evening

Cote offers a lunch special, for 16.95 you can have both an appetizer and a main from a select menu. For a bit more you can also choose a dessert. The food was above average. Service was very good. Both indoor and outdoor seating.

We are fairly regular visitors to Cote Farnham. Location, setting, atmosphere and food could not be better.

The vegetarian full English breakfast was excellent!

This is a go-to restaurant for our family - there's something for everyone on the menu, it's ALWAYS perfectly cooked and delicious, and the service is fabulous. Never have to wait long for the food to come out. The weekend brunch menu is particularly excellent value for money and is probably the best cooked breakfast we've ever had in a restaurant.

We have eaten here on several occasions and the food and service are always excellent. We ate lunch here with friends yesterday and was surprised how busy it was for a Wednesday. Our meals were excellent, sirloin steaks, tuna steak and sea bass fillet perfectly cooked. The creme caramel is the best. The service from our young waiter Will was also excellent, we didn’t know until the end of our meal that it was only his 4th day! The staff training at Cote is exemplary and for this reason and the fact that the food is always delicious and reasonably priced makes it our first choice whenever we holiday in the UK. Well done Cote, other restaurants could take a leaf out of your book!

Great experience, as always at Cote. Not been to Farnham one before but everything was perfect for our supper celebration. Will visit again soon.

First time my friend and I have been here. Friends recommended it, well they were absolutely right about the food...excellent. Qiniso served us, friendly, informative and quick to get the meals out to us. The blueberry clafouti was to die for. Best to book as it was very busy, we picked a beautiful day so ate outside. This sounds odd but if the loos are clean I reckon the kitchen will be also. Paint a little tired, but very clean, with disposable hand towels.

Very pleasant restaurant in Lion & Lamb Yard, booked for dinner on a summer Sunday evening. Delicious food, very busy evening and several large parties competing for service so not the fastest. However, very nice if a bit on the pricey side.

Really really great dinner on Friday night on a warm June evening. Very attentive staff. All the food was perfect, from starters to mains.

Nice food just not very much of it

Located in a secluded yard, off the main road, this brasserie was an amazing find, though well hidden. That the ambience was rustic was the first impression. Yet it had its own unit charm. The place was bustling with customers at 7 pm. This was obviously a testament to the popularity of the restaurant, and hence reassuring. We were a fairly large group and we were shown upstairs to two long tables. Service was excellent. As was the food. Soon after we were seated, we were offered complimentary bottles of house white, red and rose wines. That was enough to endear us to the place! Yet, the food cannot be praised enough for presentation, taste and quality. Calamari was crisp and delicious. The pork belly was cooked to perfection. Dauphinois potatoes were easily substituted with new potatoes. Dairy free options were provided without any fuss. Overall, it was a most pleasant evening with faultless, fine dining.

Visited today for a Father’s Day breakfast. Staff were excellent but the food was terrible. Lukewarm Eggs Benedict arrived with a tiny bit of ham and the eggs slopped to one side. Croque monsieur look like buttered stodgy toast, no béchamel sauce. Dry as a bone. Coffee was nice but really disappointing.

Had the steak and it was perfectly cooked. Yum.

Despite being a very busy time the staff did a good job looking after our needs.

This is a really nice spot for some French style dining - the food was delicious, and there is a lovely outdoor seating area. It's quite pricey, but the quality is worth it - we went for breakfast, and I would highly recommend the French toast.

We have been here many time during weekend, the service is always good. But not for today, we be there for dinner, the service is unpleasant, when the waiter ask what we want have to drink they use body language, I know I am foreigner but it still make me feel bad and not polite. And we clearly ask for bottle of still water, they give us tap water and we need to ask again🌝.

The restaurant was busy but service was quick and efficient. The food was delicious, the baked Cambert was very good. My salmon was good.

Came here as a group of 11 girls as we were staying in a local hotel. We ended up with a large table upstairs which was good as we were quite loud. The service was excellent - Declan was our waiter who went above and beyond the call of duty even helping with taxi’s at the end of the night as everywhere was booked. The food was delicious and the wine too! Only complaint - no vodka on a Saturday night!

Visted Sunday night for dinner. Very warm welcome and nice ambiance. Good menu with plenty of choice. Starters onion soup & salmon croquettes, mains fish pie, beef bourguignon & moules & frites, puds chocolate fondant & sorbets. All the food tasted good & nicely presented & washed down with a excellent bottle of entre deux mers. Great night topped by the fantastic services.

Went for an exceptional lunch today. Outside seating dappled light in lovely courtyard. Seating was fast. Service was on point, check backs were great. Smiles from Nisa and Olivia. Breton fish stew substantial and firm. Allergy awarness training excellent. Sancerre had legs perfect temperature.. Happy...

Always enjoy visiting Cote. The food is very tasty and service was excellent. Prices are slightly high for what you get, but overall it is a good place to go for a meal.

It's Cote, so you know what you're getting. Nothing fancy or pretentious, simply good food and good service. I'll add Farnham to the long list of Cote's I've been too and can say there are no complaints from me.

Consistently excellent. Farnham Traffic and Parking is however a nightmare and the worst enemy of Côte. Local Authorities should be ashamed.

Great service as always from Cote. One of the few places on the high street where you can still find reasonably priced, attentive, individual service which doesn’t feel forced.

Cashless establishment so I will not be using this place again. I object to this practise in the strongest terms. Apart from anything else it is discriminatory to many people in our society. A relative of mine has learning difficulties and can only use cash....

We enjoyed a very pleasant lunch here. The service was quick and all the staff were friendly and inviting. The menu provided something for everyone and our whole group left highly satisfied with their meals. The dauphinois potato’s we’re so crispy on top yet rich and creamy underneath. All the meat we ordered was well cooked and moist and accompanied with deep flavourful sauces. We would certainly recommend a visit here.

They do what they do very well. Staff are excellent. Bistro food and prices not bad at all. It's an old saying..."does what it says on the tin".

You can’t go wrong with Cote. Visited many times and we’re never disappointed. Very friendly greeting upon arrival, seated straight away and felt the bubbly atmosphere immediately. Service was ,as always, exceptional. Food was delicious, all dishes were piping hot and so tasty. Very relaxing...
