Turned away at 15:45 Sunday and advised "Closed"? Not sure they are.

Had to wait a little while to be seated but that’s okay as it was a lovely day. All staff were great and catered for our 2 coeliacs within the group. All staff were great and attentive.

Great service and a lovely atmosphere. Thought the food was expensive for what it was, portions were quite small but the taste was good. Not a bad option though

We hadn't booked a table on a very busy early Saturday evening and were warmly welcomed to a window table. Our server Joel soon arrived at the table and we explained we had a theatre booking at 7.30. He took our order and said he'd ask the chef to prioritise the order. Which certainly happened. Food (Duck and burger) was well presented and very tasty and went down well with a large glass of merlot! This was our first time at Côte and we will definitely return when we are next in Birmingham. I had a Cote burger and I have to say it is without question the greasiest burger I have ever had. It was pouring out of the burger and the bread was mush. So much came out of the burger that it was all over the wooden board it came on when the waitress came to pick it up it had solidified into a puddle of lard. It was my fault for ordering a burger, I should have know better in a place like that the chef wouldn’t be too keen on preparing something so basic. Chips were nice though.

Great place to have a birthday meal. Cote has always been a favourite of mine and continues to be so. Good with allergens and intolerance too, able to adapt menu. Great choices and nice atmosphere 👌

Nice place for brunch and mimosas

The staff were welcoming and friendly. Atmosphere was great. Food was some of the best my husband and I have ever had eating out. We can’t wait to try the evening menu, if the breakfast is anything to go by we know it’s going to be full of flavour and good quality!

I know very well what level of chain French restaurant Cote is, and overall the food is acceptable. But the apple pie I had this time was really disappointing, especially after thestaff's enthusiastic promotion. I'm considering not trying cote again.

It was for my mom's early mothers day dinner and it was also a good opportunity for her and my dad to meet my girlfriend. It was a great night out!

Rubbish disgusting expensive too get nothing on ya plate can go better place and cheaper and fill you up just overrated overpriced and no taste at all very dry and flavourless never coming back or recommend too anybody so many better places out there was a disappointment.

This is a con restaurant that operates under the illusion of a classy French brasserie. It charges reasonably high prices for average food. When I went I ordered the lamb, the food came very quickly (too quickly). The whole dish was under-seasoned, the lentils were completely undercooked and bland. The whole dish lacked any body of flavour which should be the minimum when you are paying 20 pounds. The dauphinois were almost certainly reheated via the Microwave. In addition to this, the servers were miserable; didn’t make us feel welcome or smile once. This place is an absolute avoid, you will leave feeling like someone has robbed your money. I would much more recommend going to a reasonably priced establishment or if you are willing to spend a little more money go to somewhere more expensive that’s actually worth it, this is a complete waste of money.

Excellent restaurant, the service and food was top notch

This is the first French restaurant I have tried in Birmingham. There are no reviews on Dianping. I wonder if it is due to the geographical location. Crab Mansion's appetizer has crab meat with some chopped onions and sliced ​​cherry radish, which gives it a refreshing taste. Including two slices of bread, the total calories are 209 kcal Beef Bourguignon a.k.a. Burgundy red wine braised beef. Because it is slow-cooked, the beef pieces are cut into large pieces. The red wine flavor of the sauce is very rich. A piece of fried crispy bacon is creatively added to the mashed potatoes🥓 . The mashed potatoes are also delicious. Calories 597 kcal Confit Duck a l'Orange Another main course, I originally ordered Lamb Rump, but after seeing the duck meat in the previous review, I asked if this dish is still available. I was told that the menu has changed and now it is duck legs. When I looked again, I almost missed the confit duck leg, so I quickly changed it. It turned out to be a very good choice. The braised purple cabbage was adjusted to a sweet and sour base (but not very sweet, mainly sour) to neutralize the oil of the confit duck legs. The slightly bitter orange slices also had the same effect. For added visual interest, add some watercress as a salad and garnish. The skin of the duck leg is crispy on the outside and the meat on the inside is neither dry nor dry. The gratin dauphinois French gratin potatoes come in a separate container, maybe because the dish is a bit too complicated if mixed together. You must come if only for the creme caramel 😋 I like this branch, it's located on the canal and always swarming with people Luckily we were able to get in without a reservation The burger was below expectations especially since they have great steaks!

The worst staff ever I was with my friend and the shouted at us

Steer clear of Cote! Shockingly, we encountered racism from the waitress and the manager's profanity-laden response. Unacceptable behavior. Spare yourself the headache and dine elsewhere. They reply to reviews with apologies but this was totally unacceptable. If i could give zero stars i would!

The worst restaurant I have been to in Birmingham, the worst staff I have seen ever , And that because the way that how they treaded us. First we were 4 person and they took along time to bring our order. Second, we tried to move to other table because 3 of out friends were coming but unfortunately when we tried to speak to the manger she was shouting at us and told us that she will can not clean 2 tables in a silly and rude way then on of her colleagues came to us and shouted at us with telling very very bad words to us then he told us to leave and never come back again.However, this is the first time I write a review for any restaurant and I really feel disappointed I will never come back to this restaurant until they change there staff especially 3 of them I don’t know there names but I know how they look like.

Excellent French Diner reasonably priced in the heart of the mailbox. 3 Course meal, a cocktail, bottle wine to share + two sharing starters all for under £40 pp!! You definitely get more for your money! The waiters there also were fantastic and very polite catering to our needs at the table. Diner music could be added as a bonus but otherwise fantastic!

The manager was sooo rude to us she didn’t want to service us because we just wanted to order desert, and she said that she’s had enough from us while we are a customers. I felt that it’s racism against Arab people and that was disrespectful.

We had the Sunday A la Cotè and it was absolutely divine. Each meat was cooked perfectly and paired with a different sauce. All the veg was seasoned perfectly. The service from every member of staff was top notch. Bien joué!

I often dine at Cote when away for business, and am never disappointed. The staff were superb, very welcoming and polite. The food was good as always, I had the roasted lamb rump and truffle fries and the prices were reasonable. The restaurant suited couples, groups and lone diners.

Three of us called in for breakfast. Good selection of dishes, well cooked and good value. Service was friendly, professional, helpful and efficient. Can't wait to go again.

Have to say this is a regular haunt for us, and has been for many years. We have always trusted the Cote chain, on the basis of the Birmingham restaurant... Solihull restaurant could / should learn a lot from here. Food is nearly always high quality, and if issues arise they correct it. The service is nearly always on spot, and the atmosphere is always very pleasant, nice buzz, but you can still chat to each other.. Highly recommended ❤️

Went to Cote last weekend as me and my girlfriend were in Birmingham for the Christmas Market and decided to stay over and make a night of it. Class is all I can say. The food was out of this world and the service impeccable. Big shout out to Ricardo who couldn't have been more attentive if he tried. Great host, and always on hand. If I could give more start I would. Thrilled also that there is one in West Bridgford so close to home.

Felt very disorganised we were kept waiting for about half an hour to be seated. We were a large group of 16 and squished into an area where there was no real elbow room to eat, realistically maybe 10 max should have been seated on the table we were spread across. Starters and mains were OK but desserts were good. The staff were very friendly but the place felt like they wanted maximum capacity which then stretched staff and they got confused qirh drinks. Not much space to get to the cloakrooms easily either felt like diners were being bumped which ia never pleasant.

Fantastic place in a busy meeting up and restaurant area. Staff are super helpful, the atmosphere is lively and happy and food is absolutely delicious. We've been twice in the last three days! Thanks.

I recently dined at Cote Restaurant, and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. The primary issue was the excessive waiting time for our food. We found ourselves twiddling our thumbs for an extended period, which significantly impacted our overall enjoyment.Adding to the frustration was the apparent lack of courtesy from the restaurant team. The staff's behavior was, regrettably, rather rude. It's disheartening when the people serving you fail to uphold a basic level of politeness. I believe in constructive feedback, and I hope Cote Restaurant can address these concerns to enhance the dining experience for future patrons. Swift service and a friendly team make a significant difference in creating a positive atmosphere.I genuinely hope that these aspects can be improved upon, as I believe Cote has the potential to offer a much more enjoyable dining experience.

Only popped in for a coffee with friends but the staff were lovely, will visit again for food .

Mediocre place. Is lovely on the inside but the service and food were terrible. Food was lukewarm/cold. So disappointed since it was a special occasion with the family. Iordered a medium rib-eye but a lot of it was cooked to medium rare which I don't enjoy. Took an hour for our mains to be served to us. Probably would have waited longer if we didn't speak up and say. Definitely not what we expected. So upset with how it has been. Such a shame the staff are terribly trained in cooking steaks and just basic customer service.

Big praises to the staff, they were absolutely lovely. So helpful and talkative. Beatrice, especially, was so lovely. The food was amazing. Definitely recommend the garlic bread starter. We went for lunch - they have a fixed menu - two courses for £15. This I would recommend!! The weather was lovely so we sat outside. Such a lovely restaurant. They also have a kids menu, which is great. Kid friendly restaurant with lovely staff and a great environment.

Second time at Cote, partly came as had a free cocktail offer but know food is good. Wasn't disappointed,staff very attentive and had a lovely 3 course meal,all food tasted great. Sat outside (like most people) as weather was lovely. Would highly recommend.

Lovely atmosphere and pleasant lady welcomed us in when we were hesitant which one to pick. The lady serving us was really warm and helpful without being pushy. The food was scrumptious and portion size was good for the two of us.

I enjoyed the food here. The atmosphere was nice and cosy. We made reservation however there was no need that day, it was very quiet. The service was quick and efficient. The restaurant has a nice outdoor space. We have 3 courses meal and all were great. I wasn’t the fan of dessert.

Had the beef bourgnion lovely and tender. Showed us the tablet with ingredients for any allergies. It was a Sunday early evening so atmosphere wasn't great otherwise a nice place. A bit expensive.

Had the early evening set menu which was really nice and excellent value. The restaurant is in a lovely setting and if the evening had been warmer would have sat on the large terrace. Friendly efficient staff, would recommend.

Absolutely amazing and definitely comin back. They offer one of the most incredible french cuisines in the city. All the staff were extremely friendly and attentive. Great food and service from this city restaurant / brasserie. Wide menu selection from breakfast, lunch to evening dinner. Less than 15 minutes walk from New Street Station along the city wharf.

Can’t quite put my finger on it, but breakfast for 10 (after the night out) was vaguely disappointing. All very polite from the staff and took a while. I’ll put this down to customer error, should have gone elsewhere. Oh well….

Excellent food in a great location and friendly atmosphere. We were celebrating our anniversary and the extra special touches made to our meal were such a surprise and we were really touched by this. Staff are too slow, waited 40 mins to get my plate taken away and get the bill despite staff just walking past me and not looking at my situation. I had to get up and go and ask for them to clear my plate and for the bill

Wow! The food was devine. We had an early table as was attending the theatre that evening. Staff where very friendly and did not bother you while eating. A nice location with a lovely outside eating area. Loved the wall which had plants growing out of very unique.

Went for wedding anniversary meal. Food and service both first class. As we booked our table at 20:45 the restaurant was fairly empty so there wasn't really a buzz about the place, but on the flip side that meant it felt more intimate. Very much recommended. Will return.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Côte, the French restaurant located by the canal. The atmosphere was lovely and inviting, and the view of the canal was beautiful.
