I found the food very poor quality small portions and very expensive for what was served. The tapas style starters were extremely small and uneventful and were certainly not tasty or well presented. The Spanish chicken was ok but far too much chorizo in the dish the sauce was quite nice but overall it wasn’t worth the price. The cod and chips was again very small and was likely a buy in product. The fish was ok but the chips were not fully cooked. The waitress was very friendly and efficient and did visit the table many times to check on us. I was visiting the area to see friends and as I was paying didn’t want to make a fuss. So I paid and left a tip. It was very dark in the restaurant I thought it needed more light it’s a very big place with lots of covers and therefore there was not much of an atmosphere it’s quite loud so not really the place for an intimate meal. Overall we were not impressed and wouldn’t be in a hurry to return. There are so many other places nearby.

We enjoy stopping off at one of The Lounge venues or a Cosy Club, this one did not disappoint. Whilst it is primarily aimed at diners there are a couple of tables available where you can grab a hot drink and chill out for a bit. We were intrigued by the chocolate chai and would definitely have it again.

Small portions. Pasta had to be sent back as it was cold consisted of 1desert spoon of meat and 10 small pasta pieces.. House salad the smallest I have ever seen and mostly lettuce, 1 small cherry tomato,no cucumber or anything else. Asked for sweet potato chips got ordinary chips so the other meal was also wrong.

A long wait. Very poor food. Disappointing to say the least. Bread served with a huge dollop of greasy margarine on the side for £4.50, £16 for a dry burger with one slice of gherkin and some bland not quite crispy chips…no garnish, dry roll, nothing to make me want to return. Perhaps it was just a bad, poorly organised service. I have been to other Cosy Clubs and they have been good.

We love Cosy Club normally been to a few other locations and had good food. However I can’t say that for this Ipswich branch. All our food had errors and simple things like no rocket with burger. Slow poor service, but they seemed to let one poor waitress do alll the work. Food was also dry and over cooked and appeared thrown on plate. Plenty of other choices in Ipswich I won’t be using this Cosy Club again.

In general ok though staff mixed up a few food orders, probably due to noise in room combination loud music, other diners and the fact staff stood at head of table of eight which probably made it harder to hear for him.

What’s happened to this place??? The menu is half what it used to be.. Portion size was ridiculous, I ordered the ‘ox cheek pasta ragu’ and my son ordered the pasta meatballs, he had more on his plate than I did, and I spent more than double on my meal?! See the photo. Can’t fault the service or the look of the place, but they’ve really downgraded the menu and portion sizes, don’t think we’ll return.

Called in at reception point and asked wait time for food with the reply “none.” We took a table for 2 adults and 2 children on a Sunday at 1pm. Water and drinks were served fairly swiftly and our food order taken. Two requests later and our food arrived at 1.35pm. Of the two children’s meal, one a pasta with tomato sauce was a good sized portion. (6.95)The other a macaroni cheese was served in a ramekin with two slices of bread smothered in a jar pesto sauce. (7.50) Totally inedible for adults let alone children! The burger at £17.50 was basic at best with a small portion of fries. The two “small plates” were acceptable and served with small but fresh amount of salad accompaniments. £2.85 for a small bottle of tonic water was also a bit steep! Two of our party had to leave early otherwise we may have spoken directly to the staff at the time. Have had much better food (more choice) on previous occasions. This menu seemed to be predominantly quick fry food - a shame.

Hands down the most disgusting meal out we’ve ever had. My stomach is turning just thinking about it. I had the festive pie which was freezing cold, came with raw carrots and parsnip, garlic mash which looked & tasted like it had been made months ago and cabbage and was nearly £20! My partner had a vegan burger which was equally as cold, tasted odd and our little boy had a kids meal which was again freezing cold but fine although very small portions. The service was shocking, there were barely any diners but we still waited long periods of time and the staff were too busy chatting to each other to notice or care. Will never go back and would avoid at all costs.

I attended Cosy club Ipswich 1st December 2024 at 2pm with my family for a celebratory birthday meal with 4 children under 5 and a 5 year old. The service was abysmal to say the least. Took over half an hour for a waitress to take a drinks order and over an hour for food to be ordered and served. I can’t say the restaurant was busy, however a little bit of customer service would not hurt. The draught soft drinks were watery, especially the cokes and when we complained about this, the waitress gave 2 small bottles of coke. Considering we ordered a pint of coke and was charged for a pint was ridiculous! Upon arrival the children were not offered any activity packs whilst sat waiting for their food considering this took over an hour to order, and the lady stated once we sat down that the table will be required back at 4:30pm?! However, when we sat down at 2pm our order was not taken until 3:10pm?! What if we wanted to order dessert after our meal?! That would not be our fault, it would be the time management of your staff. Also, once the orders were ready to come out the lady stated whoever is having the pie this will be an additional 6 minutes?! However could see the chips were sat on the hot plate for at least 15 minutes with other food we had ordered. The food order still came out wrong with a side dish that was ordered with the main to come out 5 minutes after telling the waitress for her to state it will be another 5 minutes. Once this had come out we were pretty much finished! Lastly, upon leaving the restaurant the waitress did not print out the bill and the bill was not checked properly and my brother paid. Upon given the receipt once we were home, we were over charged massively! We were charged for 2 extra coke children’s drinks to which only 2 had coke, and an abysmal service charge of £19.66. I appreciate for large groups you have to pay the service charge however that was not worth the service we were given yesterday! Very disappointed will definitely not be returning!

Absolutely awful experience we got there 20 minutes early so sat and had a drink whilst we waited for our table we got shown to our table at 7.10 our table was booked for 7 (there were many empty tables though) We waited 25 mins for someone to take our order and there was lots of staff standing around doing nothing and it definitely wasn’t a full restaurant we ordered drink and our food 20 mins later our starters turned up before our drinks the manager went and chased them The starters were decent don’t get me wrong At 8.05 our mains turned up the chicken was black burnt and stone cold ! And the pasta was under cooked stone cold and a FREEZING cold plate our drinks then turned up … I went to the manger to mention it and he turned and said I’ll take care of the bill your welcome to go sorry about that !!! No other to rectify anything and although we appreciate it it ruined our evening we left hungry and very unhappy trying to find somewhere else to eat at 8.30 in the evening on a Saturday We Will not be returning ! A recent Christmas lunch for a group of 12 turned out to be a bit of a mixed bag. The food, while decent, didn’t quite justify the cost. The initial service was underwhelming, with the bartender seeming disinterested. However, a subsequent bartender was fantastic and helped to improve the experience. Despite the enjoyable cocktails, we left feeling hungry and underwhelmed. Unfortunately, we won’t be rushing back.

Stopped here as we were looking for somewhere nearby to our location with table service. Myself and two sons of 15 and 9 liked the look of the menu and the fact the place wasn’t overcrowded during the school half term. Table service lovely (cannot fault and tipped our waitress) Food was a massive disappointment. I was actually shocked at the poor effort in the presentation at first sight. I myself didn’t have a meal. My eldest son ordered the butter milk fried chicken with caramelised butter and green bean salad. £16 (something) Fries were amazing! The butter was completely solid on top of the chicken! My son had to squash it onto the heat to make it melt. On top was a bush of crispy fresh leaves, but no dressing and was completely dry. He described it as a garden weed. My youngest ordered the Breaded chicken breast with fries. Again the fries were lovely but a minimal amount. The presentation was so bad I actually didn’t know how to describe it myself. My eldest described the look of it like a meal from a soft play Birthday Party for young children! (I couldn’t have described it any better 🤣) I’m just glad I decided to have a large glass of wine instead of a £16+ meal! Waitress absolutely lovely. I don’t like to complain, I find it very hard to criticise and hurt feelings but something is very wrong here for my children to look shocked when their meal was delivered.

Having had a great meal at Mizu we wanted to extend the evening a little. Cosy Club seemed an ideal place for that. Imagine my surprise at being charged £26 for two glasses of wine by a rude bartender. A friend texted me to say he was only paying £10 a glass at the Albert Hall. Since when has the pit that is Ipswich town centre become more expensive for a drink than London? Is it any wonder Ipswich town centre is dead on its feet and ready to be counted out? The absolute disgrace of being charged so much for so little has ensured that we will never set foot in a Cosy Club again. Nor will our friends.

I didn't let the salty seabass or over done steak deter me. however, I draw the line at being served Luke warm basically cold hot chocolates and coffee... because that's the bare minium to get right. **older review** superb food, drinks and service. not shy of having a laugh at customers expense, I both noticed and enjoyed that in my inebriated state. would definitely recommend, and will visit again 🤣 perhaps for more food and less drinks.

We love this place and regularly stop by in the evening for dinner and drinks - and Saturday / Sunday mornings pop in for the odd light bite and coffee. It's usually on the ball and one of those reliable places you can count on - so I felt it was high time I actually reviewed the place! I couldn't ever recall having a bad meal here prior, and the staff have always been great. Quite unusual then, that we'd have a slightly below-par experience a couple of Saturdays ago... I'd ordered the buttermilk chicken, having seen the same dish ordered by two of my friends a couple of weeks prior; my partner ordered the black truffle ricotta ravioli. We were one of only 4 (maybe 5?) tables occupied in the place, yet for some reason our food had sat on the servery for quite some time before it was eventually picked up and brought over. Unfortunately the ravioli was tasteless and served in a very watery sauce - and for some reason my buttermilk chicken had a ton of salt on it, which I took hold off, turned it upside down and shook most of it off :o) That said - the staff were great and asked how we'd like the situation resolved, but immediately struck the ravioli off the bill. It was also the weekend of Ipswich Town FC going for their promotion to Premier League so the town was extremely busy and perhaps this was a factor in staffing this weekend (even though the Cosy Club itself wasn't that busy). Not to be put off though - we absolutely love this place and being realistic, sometimes things aren't always tip-top - but when you set the bar so high in the first place, I guess it is easy for these things to be more noticeable on the rare occasions they occur! In sharp contrast a few weeks prior, I'd been here with friends before we went to see Troy Hawke at the Cornhill Exchange and had the Spanish chicken. Although I told the staff at the time - for anyone wondering what to choose on the menu - give this a try as it was the best meal I'd had in ages - absolutely superb. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone for food & drink.

Shocking fish dry only saved by the sauce complained to table staff but just sorry sorry 3 ladies were very hungry but this put us off eating out altogether, please don't insult yourself by eating here poor is an understatment, we would like to add a positive but truly cannot not just because of the meal there truly are no posatives about this excuse for an eatery apart from leaving, if you want to pat £38 for 2 pieces of really crispy dry fish and a bit of sauce then this is the place for you

Lovely staff and absolutely stunning food - we never leave disappointed! And as a recommendation, try the iced vanilla macha!

Beautiful restaraunt with amazing food. The only disappointment was the glasses and water pitcher were covered in dry water marks so didn't feel "clean".

My partner and I came for dinner and drinks, and had quite the mixed evening. Cocktails were good, even if it took 15minutes to get them. The starter portions are very small, but quite tasty (beef and bacon croquettes, you get 2). The duck was delicious, but the mains don't come with any sides for some strange reason, so those need to be ordered separately. The rioja was the highlight of the evening, and its hard to get that wrong. The deserts were "okay". The staff seemed to be on holiday abroad throughout, with only one member of staff actually doing their job on the floor - which left our cocktail glasses, shot glasses, and the glasses for water, all piled up at the side of a table that seats two. I had to specifically ask for someone to do their job and actually come and collect the pile of used glasses so there was room to breath. Overall, it's overpriced mediocrity staffed by a cooking team and a single server. If it was busy then I'd understand the lack of attention to customers and their tables, but when a restaurant as large as this is filled to a capacity that barely exceeds double digits its hard to find a reason for the terrible service. Wouldn't recommend coming here, and we won't be returning in the future - we had to go to ocean fish platter after just to salvage our evening. 2/10.

Food is of excellent quality, much better than expected from a chain restaurant. We had plenty of vegetarian and gluten free options, as well as good steaks, to suit all of the group of 12. Beers at about pub prices. Wine by the glass close in price (per unit) to wine by the bottle. Good choice of wines. Fun atmosphere.

We went on a quiet Tuesday night .. the food was good service was attentive. They made pancakes for the kids even though it is generally only on breakfast menu. When there was a misunderstanding over the order - the team rectified asap and without question which is always a nice touch.

Lunch with friends, lovely lunch and coffee/tea. Felt a bit chilly, maybe turn the heating up a notch and some brighter light bulbs too as it seemed a tad on the dark side.

Very very average. Small menu with half not available. Fridges behind bar half full so half drinks not available. Short staffed so who is working is rushed off their feet and no time for any sort of customer service. Food turned up luke warm and just about weatherspoon standards. Staff dumped food on the table no offer of sauces ect never saw him again. Not the staffs fault as they have to much to do it's management cutting staff to make profits. When will these chain companies releases if you don't have customers you don't have a business so you need to give the customer the best experience when they have chosen to eat and spend their money in your restaurant. I don't wish to return so there because of the lack of customer services and a general lack of care you have lost two customers. There are only so many customers and if you don't have any it's close the door time. It will be closed within 18 months if it's not ill eat my words and return.

It was a quiet morning. We went for breakfast. It was over an hour before we gave up on waiting for the food. We had to leave without getting our food as we had an appointment to get to. I got the impression from the staff that people giving up waiting was normal for them.

A very poor experience all round. We booked a table for 6pm, it took five minutes for someone to even seat us. Our order was finally taken after fifteen minutes. Our starter did not arrive until 6.40pm and was tepid. Our main course arrived at 7pm, in two parts, mine first then after five minutes I had to ask a waiter where my wife's main course was. My main course was very nice; however my wife's burger was actually pink in the middle and hadn't been cooked properly, she had eaten some of it before she realised. The service was appalling, despite asking for water twice, we didn't get any until asking a third time. We complained and the staff agreed we would pay for the burger and didn't charge for our drinks, but still paid £27 for a really poor service and a bad meal. We were unable to have dessert as we had booked to watch a show and the late service meant we didn't have time. Really awful rushed atmosphere as well. We went having heard some good things but won't return, it really spoiled a nice evening out.

This was ok. Just it took so long to get 5 drinks. Coffee was burnt and just cold when we actually got it . Staff were friendly but just not a place to be to get a coffee. Staff didn't know the difference between a latte and cappuccino and the glass of coke was vial. Tasted like a cola pop had been melted. Was not carbonated and flat. Even from a glass bottle would have been better as it seemed so watered down. Perhaps because it was sat waiting to be served for so long....

I've tried to have luch with my wife and my 1 year old son, but unfortunately, we have been waiting over 20 minutes and nobody took our order. Was only 1 lady working on the floor, running for one table to another. The menu was looking very interesting and I was planning to get Butcher's Brunch but I had to leave.

This is honestly my favourite place in Ipswich. Tasty food, great atmosphere and all the staff are just amazing. The most chilled out and most accommodating place I know!! Every family member, friend and work colleagues I've taken are always really impressed! I can't recommend this place enough!! A massive thank you to Chris and his team for all thier hard work, making sure all their customers enjoy Three Wise Monkeys!

Lovely old historical pub and reputedly the birthplace of Henry VIII's Chancellor Thomas Wolsey. Good place to meet friends. Went for live music event but not the ideal venue in the bar as the low ceiling and loud speakers, combined with the light show made it difficult to see the artist and listen without making my eardrums explode! No food served so eat before you go. Need more than one overworked bar staff and the ?landlady taking 10 minutes to go slice a lemon!
