Oh dear, as a fairly regular customer I've just paid my last visit on Tues, 23rd July. A loud, foul-mouthed, drunken young couple sitting at the bar and clearly openly vaping, were a very unpleasant distraction, but one seemingly happily tolerated and indulged by the bar staff. I went to a properly managed pub instead.

19/05/24: had a lovely evening with good friends celebrating a return to Altrincham for the evening. Having lived in Altrincham 1991-2007 I have seen many changes and tonight it was so good to be back enjoying some of the old and some of the new bars and pubs. This afternoon beverage of choice a Dunham Massey own brew: Castle Hill English pale ale 5.5% and Big Tree amber session bitter 3.9% 06/06/23: I've seen some changes in Altrincham since first moving here in 1996, then moving away again in 2007. Costello's was one of the changes in Goose Green, and tonight, having not been in for a while seen change again in the layout, size and direction it's gone.

My favourite bar in Altrincham, great prices and friendly staff. Hadn't been in for a while due to quitting drinking but I was in on 3 occasions in the last 2 weeks meeting friends and Macy and James were really lovely as always, really made me feel welcome.

Best bar in Alty! With a great selection of drinks at reasonable prices, partnered with friendly and attentive staff, this place truly caters to everyone and will make you feel relaxed and refreshed. Whether it's lagers, ciders, real ale, spirits, wine or even coffees, this place has it all. In addition to that, they have regular quiz nights and now have live music every other Saturday too. What's not to love!

One of my favourite bars in altrincham well worth a visit

Just a short walk from the 🚊 terminus serving the full range of Dunham Massey beers. As with all good micro bars it has grown in size - a victim of its own success

Great place, only ever visit in late afternoons but nice atmosphere, friendly staff and fellow customers.

Shame it's so dark inside and that although this is a CAMRA award winning bar, they don't offer discounts for CAMRA members. The beer is good, as you'd expect and it's a good place to while away a few hours.

My current favourite bar in altrincham. Good friendly atmosphere with a good outdoor seating area ideal for meeting up with friends.

Visited after a trip to the cinema, not been before. The outside tables were full, the inside was fairly quiet. Bar staff personable and friendly. Clean throughout. The lighting was subdued - fitting for the time of evening/night (10.50pm). Was able to chat easily. Felt relaxed and comfortable. Would definitely go again.

This is a great little bar to meet and have drinks. Me and my mates do every month. It's still great.

Well presented bar with the usual decent range of beers you would expect from the Costello chain BUT..... for a Wednesday evening it was v quiet with only few customers and the barman and his mate who spent the entire evening swearing openly in front of the few customers who were in there whilst discussing their varied recipes for (I assume by looking at them) those living the single life. Personally I'm not offended by the language but really is that customer service at it's finest? I will stick to the Stockton Heath branch in future.

Excellent selection of beers and the people in there were very friendly such that I ended up chatting with two of them.

Open plan bar with covered outdoor seating on Goose Green. Dunham Massey outlet. ( FIRST PINT OF THEIR BEER WAS DEER BEER...thankfully it improved from there.) Pint of Little Bollington, very pleasant. ..back Feb 2023. Had a refurb. Pint of Lymn Gold. Very good says Jorvic. Back to 5 star.

An Altrincham stalwart. Great if you want to settle in for drinks but don't want an old pub or blaring music.

I really like the changes they have made in the refurb. More beer choices too.

Absolutely one of the best bars in Altrincham, always fantastic customer service and a great array of pints available. Fantastic seating options inside and out with a great smoking area sin Goose Green, tucked away from the other late-night bars on the other side. Definitely recommend Costello's for a pint whatever the occasion.

It was nice to sit and relax and unwind, to watch the world pass through Goose Green despite the cold wind. I chose to sit outside as I've noticed since Covid I prefer to sit out than on. Costello's have a covered outside area so I was sheltered from the wind a drizzling rain. The wine was good too. A nice hour was spent chilling and I'm not talking about the weather.😄

Costello's Bar, Goose Green, Altrincham. Part of Dun ham Massey Brewery. Great Beers, But! The Management and Staff are unhelpful, Unaccommodating, and abusive! If you are disabled in any way, or in a wheelchair, due to there strict seating rules, you will be refused service as you are unable to move a chair out of position to place your wheelchair at a table or be accommodated for any type of disability and you will be asked to leave. And don't think it ends there! Expect further abuse in passing if you complain!

I'm thinking of moving to Altrincham. Costellos is that good. I've had the Landlady. Lots of guys have had the Landlady. I recommend the Landlady. The Landlady goes down great.
