Costa Coffee Broughton in Flintshire

Sat in Costa Broughton and I have just watched a lady in a wheelchair struggle to get out of the store. There is no obvious access in or out. It took her a good 5 minutes to manoeuvre her way out. Asking customers to move so she could get out. By the time the lady and her wheelchair finally made it to the door, it was obvious she was stressed out. In this day and age this should not happen. Costa Coffee needs to be disability aware. You need to address this matter ASAP.

In Costa - it’s packed! The girls serving are working non stop. They are like a well oiled machine. Two serving and one it seems clearing. Personally I think there should be more in - no-one should have to work at that rate but they are amazing!! Thanks girls 🤩❤️

Food is average quality with limited choices( like any costa really). What lets it down is the poor customer service I haven't come across at other branches. They haven't got a good attitude towards customers requests. For example they refused to adjust the aircon temperature, because the staff didn't agree with it. That kind of attitude has completely ruined my costa experience on that day. I'm flagging this issues hoping the staff will get the necessary training.

Had breakfast here. 05.04 24 for the money. It was terrible. Food cold. As it was done well before the drinks was reddy. (The one on Sealand Road is the best one the food is always hot as the drinks are done first.

The staff are always great as is the coffee. I don't like to eat in as they are always too noisy. The coffee is always great and either inside or drive through you don't wait as long as other coffee outlets.

Takes forever to make a drink. And rarely a table.

Unusually quiet, we called in to this Costa whilst shopping. A very limited choice of sandwiches available and the cake/desert section was awfully stocked. Just decided to opt for a double espresso and a soft drink....not a fan of the volume of creamy diluted coffees aimed at kids.

Very busy here today cannot fault the staff with high demand of orders and unfortunately missed a item from the 5 drink order. My only thing that knocks them down a ⭐️ is that empty tables had not been cleared away and cleaned after each customer but overall worth the visit.

Good service but really deserves 2 baristas on the machine or 2 machines as the queues are out of the door and outside on the car park.

I only marked it down because this specific Costa is quite cramped and gets really hard to hear ( I am partially deaf) - which can be a little annoying. The staff present around 2pm ish on 30/12/2023 which was super busy but everyone was great and so helpful - two of the baristas noticed I use a walking stick and were so helpful carrying things for me without even asking - even though it was really packed in there - I was really grateful - thank you 😊 all the best for the new year 🎉

Very nice coffee it's a good idea to order from the app when it's busy and you won't be in a long queue. Even though it was busy plenty of places to sit.

Very busy most of the time, but staff always seam to be on the ball. Also there's a lady clearing and cleaning tables most of the time. One problem we had a couple of weeks ago was when I got served all the tables were taken due to people coming in and taking tables whilst other person waited in queue. Not happy stood with a hot coffee and toast waiting but hey ho. Probably something for COSTA to look into

The way the cafe has been re-designed over the Covid times has made it look/ feel WORSE than a train station place: no more comfort, some dim lights, loads of cold drafts. The only good thing is the way the counter is: longer, practical for staff and pleasant to look at . The rest if the room is awfully designed. Nothing to do with the staff, they are always pleasant.

Old tired decor..tables and floor dirty .. tables not cleared in a timely manor.. drinks and food expensive no salt or pepper available...scruffy rip off cafe

I do like popping in here, but it does get very busy. Lucky to get a seat but it only shows how popular it is. Service and items spot-on.

Not the best costa. When it is open (rarely) the coffee is served in paper cups, the usual line of "the dishwasher is broken" is fed to you. The amount of times it breaks down I think it would be easier to get a new one! Not my favourite costa overall, never really had a problem in the other branches.

This store used to be open until late as all of the shops here close at around 8pm. It now closes at 6pm which makes no sense whatsoever! A lot of people (including me) used to go shopping after work and then get a coffee afterwards, but this isn’t possible any more. They must be losing an awful lot of money now. As for the store itself, the service is good, but not much else now!

As always In Costa one has to stand in a queue whilst staff run around like headless chickens.. Nothing seems orderly. To wait again after ordering is frustrating.

Had a mocha and it was cold sent it back but nothing done about it will not be returning

I love going to this costa, the staff are always so nice... even when a customer moans at them for no reason they still keep a smile on their face. I witnessed a man kicking off at a staff member years ago and she hadn't done anything, it was busy and she still kept a smile on her face and the staff were getting hot and bothered. I used my receipt to write a little message to the staff and gave it to the girl who the customer kicked off at and all the staff appreciated it... unknown to me they put it up on the wall, I spotted it a few weeks later and it made me smile, it's still there to this day giving the staff the smile they deserve.

Good staff, typical costa food we’ve grown to know and love! Close by to the Broughton shopping centre toilets which are some of the best in any shopping centre I’ve been to. The only negative is the fact sometimes it’s closed hours before it’s meant to be closed, the door used to say it closed at 19:00 but it was closed sometimes before 17:00, possibly short staffed? Maps now says it closes at 17:00 so maybe they’ve changed their closing times and solved it.

It was quite busy when we were there. Nice polite staff. Our coffee was good, our food was hot and tasty.

The staff were really helpful & patient when I had an issue using a gift.

Always a long wait in this Costa

Popped into the restaurant for what we thought was the breakfast deal... Picked out a bacon and egg bap from the selection available and went to the counter to continue with our choice of beverage it's only when the packaging was opened and the item placed in the microwave we were advised that only the bacon or sausage baps were available as a deal.... Ended up paying twice the price we were expecting... Not sure if this was explained in writing within the store but we didn't see anything.... especially on the shelf where the breakfast baps were stored Unfortunately this left us feeling a little cheated... Personally don't drink coffee so this was my first visit to a Costa coffee.... Don't think I will visit again.... But being fair in my reviews...the bacon and egg bap we had was very tasty...

Always friendly environment, consistently good food and drink on offer. Stocks M&S sandwiches and a few other of their products besides their own. It does run out of items later on at times, but this only proves how popular it is to all visitors to the shopping park.

Update: Still appalling. Nothing has changed. Kicked out at 4 not 7 as per website. Dishwasher not working. Card machine not working. Oven shut off at 3:40 so it had time to cool down before cleaning. All, and I mean all, customers asked to leave at 4 precisely. The staff's entire aim was to ensure the place was closed at 4. This situation has been talking place for the last 3 weeks apparently. Truly awful customer service. Complained to some young lady who clearly couldn't give two coffee beans. Avoid at all costs.

Pretty small Costa but in a good location. Always pretty busy here so handy if you are after a take out but you usually have to queue for it.

Unfortunately on this occasion we got there at 4 and it was closed, my partner and I thought this was very early for a Saturday

Coffee (latte) was very weak and luke warm, citrus pastry was very dry and hard on the outside, when you pay Costa prices you expect good quality this was not

Lady who does the coffee is a miracle.

Only 2 people working and so the inevitable huge queue and it took at age to get served, then items missing from the order.

Just cannot agree with some of the anti staff comments. I opened this website today, just to praise the staff after my visit today. I use this location at least once per week, it may not be the swishest, but it's always clean, the fare as good as any and the staff always friendly, helpful and accommodating. This week, four months on from the above comments I find no china cups or plates, the drinks being served in paper mugs and hot food in paper envelopes. This has been going on for a week now. Totally unacceptable. Get a grip Costa. Another week on, now early Nov and still no china cups, saucers or plates.

Usually really enjoy going here but just lately it's not been a nice experience. One of my trips recently the staff literally came over and told us we had to leave as they were closing at 4pm and don't even get me started on the broken dishwasher, paper cups, broken card machine. Some of the staff are lovely but there are a few that couldn't give two hoots! The way it is at the minute I wouldn't recommend.

The Costa itself was clean and served a good selection of food and drinks. The coffee I had was hot and tasty served with a fresh cake. However, the store itself gets very packed and it can be difficult to find a table. Several customers ended up standard with a try waiting for a table to become available. Overall the service was friendly and the place looked clean and tidy. It was hard to relax with so many people, but you did get good coffee.

Nice place to have a coffee when shopping

Every time I've been here there are issues, have no cups have to drink out of Paper cups, disgusting when you want to relax on your only day off. 4/5 they don't have your drink, or don't have toast. The worse Costa. If I could get to the one at sealand road retail park I would that gets 5/5. Not the staffs problems, they are friendly enough, poor supplies, broken machines!

The place is scruffy the tables were cluttered with leftover bits and pieces I had to clean my own table there were no plates or cups frankly the place was a disgrace

Went today to be told cash only (I don't carry cash and nor do a lot of people) also no cups or plates etc due to no dishwasher. The only thing they had was takeaway cups and even then only small cups. Staff were obviously stressed but trying there best in a bad situation. Surely someone should take the decision to close until repairs are done under hygiene standards.

Went today and told card machine not working so went cash machine and came back to be told the place is closed at 4pm !!!! Won't be going there again

Over priced & have to wait fat too long in a queue

Typical Costa experience, nice coffee, polite staff, clean and tidy. Pity ice machine broke so only hot drinks could be made though.

Very disappointed today a staff member stood there sending messages on his mobile then made me a cappuccino miserable guy no thankyou nothing .dint like your job or did I interrupt your texting. Other member of staff happy chearful made me a strawberry frappe which was mostly cream than strawberry .I was going to sit outside .I had to ask for some blue tissue to wipe seats as wet told the member that's why I wanted the blue tissue he replied oh we are having new umbrella never even offered to come and wipe all the seats as there was customers doing the same as us ,The new umbrella don't even cover all the seting area .sort your self's out ...

Coffee always good but service was slow. Sign said they were short staffed and they were closing early. Only take out paper cups available.

I always enjoy coming in with my daughters and grand daughter, coffee is always good but it usually looks a bit dirty, but it's a busy place but just need to keep on top of the housekeeping.

Changed the seating layout since we were there last (3+ years ago?) and seems to be more cramped. Weird

Coffee is nice there however we visited this place at 4:45PM on bank holiday and it was fully shut and staff was mopping floor... wonder how many customers theyv lost by doing this unless they have changed closing times and havent let their customers know about it.

Only downside really was tables weren't being cleaned straight away there were numerous tables with left items. Busy when I went in, quite slow serving due to taking orders and making the orders, numerous staff on also making orders, they had to keep checking that they hadn't missed items on an order which I thought was good

You could easily miss this Costa, just tucked away in the corner between WH Smith and Specsavers. However, a bit like a Tardis, it opens up to much more inside! Nice and clean when I visited recently, with good service, comfortable seating and interesting layout and decor. Unfortunately it does not have any outside windows to provide natural light, but still seems reasonably bright and 'open' inside.

Much better than it used to be better stocked and choice More tables but wish they would sort out the outdoor tables not manned and people abuse the space
