We went into Costa at the Forge a month ago we purchased a toasted teacake and was given 1 portion of butter and advised that if we needed more butter then it would cost us an additional 10 pence, this is ridiculous as the teacake already comes in two halves and one portion of butter cannot cover both sides I felt like Oliver Twist having to ask for more from the Beadle. Since then We have visited 4 other Costa stores and they rightly supply 2 portions of butter. We were in the Forge Costa again today and the Manager insisted that Head Office had informed all Branches that it was only 1 portion of butter per Teacake, I told him to keep his Teacake which was already in the Toaster and ordered something else. The Manager then put the Teacake in the bin , if people keep complaining about Costa's Butter Policy their bins will soon be quite full. It is not the 10 pence its the principal , I feel that I will be taking my custom elsewhere which is a pity as I love their Coffee.

Visited here 05.11.16, server dropped cake on the floor. Gave me a fresh one and put floor cake back on shelf to sell. I was disgusted and said to cashier who shouter over and cake was removed and put on worktop at back. As soon as I sat back down the staff put back into the sales counter- mingling, disgusting and three staff carried out these actions!!! Wrote to their head office who offered a £5- hahaha. I've reported to environmental health. Do not eat here, food could have been rubbed on floor

This is by far my favourite branch of Costa Coffee. I visit this branch every week, usually at the weekend for breakfast and for a catchup with the family. The coffee here tastes really really good and that is consistently the case. I understand it that good coffee comes down to having well trained staff and a rigid equipment cleaning policy. The staff here always go out of their way to be friendly and have a smile on their face and a welcome hello for everyone. The food being a costa is limited, but it is reasonable quality wise. The brown bread toasted and the toasted teacakes are excellent. I can also recommend the bacon rolls which have lots of bacon in the middle. The secret about this branch is the quality of management and staff who work here. They always go out of there way to be friendly and welcoming. This place is so good that it actually won Best Costa Coffee branch in Scotland & North of England last year.

He estado aquí varias veces.

Delicious freshly made scone with Butter and Jam and superb Vanilla Latte (Mum had an amazing Mueille Feuille) cake. Lovely friendly, helpful staff who were engaging and couldn't do enough to help us. It's also great for people like one of our family members who use a wheelchair. We had never been before and had a great experience.

If you want a nice hot, tasty, home cooked, good value breakfast, GO ELSEWHERE! Where do I start? I ordered the full all day breakfast, at £9.50, it was not cheap and when it arrived , not looking very good value. The positives. The rosti, beans and toast were nice and hot. The negatives. 2 sausages the size of chipolatas lukewarm. Mushroom stone cold. Streaky bacon, well undercooked, greasy and stone cold. The poached eggs were meant to be soft. They weren't and again barely lukewarm. I complained about the bacon and was brought another plate of cold, greasy undercooked bacon. I again complained and the waitress said she would get me a refund. I said I wasn't wanting one. However, a few minutes later, Jocelyn the restaurant manager appeared to let me know we could have a free hot drink but no way was I getting the refund which I hadn't asked for! Apparently it was no ones fault. I learned that everything is cooked, sorry heated to pre programmed times and temperatures. Also, and perhaps the worst. The poached eggs are deliverd in a little plastic pod with water, I assume partially cooked , and put into hot water to set. YEUGH! Pity they weren't in a shell like other eggs. My wife had the pancakes, bacon and maple syrup. Obviously not fresh made, just heated. Her bacon was the same as mine. At £8.50 it was a disgrace. We won't be back. M&S was always known for quality. What has happened?
