Costa Coffee in Copeland

Not great. Toastie was only just acceptable. Table and chairs really need to be clean. Usually Costa is reliable and snacks eg. toasties are lovely. Not so at this one. Sadly.

We ordered a toastie which was only toasted on one side. The cups and spoons were both dirty, tables hadn't even been wiped. Consequently we won't be going back to that Costa!!

Place in general fairly clean toilets very clean but staff the women that is were appealing miserable didn’t listen to orders got everything wrong no apology ! Wouldn’t choose to go there again ! The man serving was ok

I would start the day by drinking a coffee. That's when I started feeling nauseous. Because in the coffee cup I bought, the previous female customer's lipstick was still in the cup.They renewed my coffee. But I was disgusted already 🤮

Sat outside as we have 2 dogs, only 2 tables and both were filthy seagull mess on the table and cigarette buts littering the floor. This is an absolute sh.t show Greg's next door was spotless by comparison, to expect people to pay the prices Costa are now charging is taking the mick from a loyal customer base. I won't be back.

The poky size and bland design of this Costa branch in Whitehaven lends it a rather Spartan and crowded appearance. It also feels a bit scruffy and run down. It certainly isn’t the sort of modern coffee house where you would relax for a while over a long, lazy coffee and is more in the style of an old fashioned railway station buffet, where you drink up as quickly as possible then leave. As one would expect, the coffees and service were good, but I still wouldn’t be in a hurry to come back.

AWFULL. It was grotty. All Windows were dripping with condensation. The whole place looked dirty, tables were dirty. Mismatchted furniture, like from a jumblesale. Machines and counters were so/so. Zero food, only a few cakes. Staff friendly, but slow. Costa is my go to place, but I will not go back to this store! We did stay, nowhere else to go on a sunday in Whitehaven.

Absolutely fantastic service, so helpful and friendly. I asked for 5 drinks to take out and had my 3 year old grand daughter with me, so between us, we came up with ideas to make my walk back to the park a lot easier.

Took our disabled son in on Sunday for his hot chocolate treat. Got a free drink and a cake for a £ on my app. Very friendly staff. Well looked after. Great service and very clean.

Great coffee shop, It is a Costa after all. Food, drink and the rewards app is great. I love building up to a free coffee. Beware of the large coffee it's huge lol. I always forget. Friendly staff. Thank you

Lovely coffee and cookie but the service is slow.

It’s a very nice place they have great food and great drinks. My grandma loves the coffee/ flat whites and thinks they do a great job of making them and I love the frappes there too. The only thing is the toilets are always quite dirty. But apart from that everything’s great.

A typical town centre branch of Costa, was quite busy, but got a seat without a problem. All the usual costa range available. The tables were all cleared away and cleaned quite quickly. The place was clean and tidy Staff were all friendly enough. I would call back here again if I was in Whitehaven.

This morning I was served by a lovely young woman who catered to me quickly and professionally. I don’t usually visit Whitehaven but the coffee from here was up to my standards and the staff were lovely overall. Good work

If you want to wait 15 minutes for a warm coffee costing £3.85, then this place is perfect. The worlds most miserable staff too 🙄

Took our son for his usual hot chocolate, the 4 people behind the counter today, Sunday 30th July. Where diabolical, clueless tbh, 1 didn't know how to make a smoothie, 1 girl, played with her hair as she was serving customers and the lad, did leave the till, even when the girls needed help. Another member of staff came out from the back, and things started to work normally, but I waited 20 minutes, maybe 25, for 3 drinks. And 1 of them was a black tea.... need to give more training and don't have all trainees in store at the same time. Disappointing.

Nice coffee, fairly friendly staff, they do their job. The place is pretty clean.

Shocking deterioration of service, cleanliness and drink quality. Difficult to believe it's a national brand. And clearly a very poor place to work given the astonishing staff turnover.

You (eventually) pay your money and take your chances. Visited on a Sunday morning, not overly busy yet it took 20 minutes or so to be served their overpriced coffee because the in store customers had to Stan in line whilst the Uber eats etc orders were prioritised. What a joke, at least someone else was paying! My advice: stay with the local independents.

Not sure is barista was counting she put 8 shots in my gingerbread latte way to sweet didnt bother going back usually costa put 4 shots in very clean good customer service tables available

Friendly. Clean. Can get busy at times so isn't always a relaxing environment if that's what you're looking for.

Coffee not hot enough, flat white more a small latte and cortado, why do they never put enough coffee in?

Staff often quite rude intentionally or not.. I’ve never been served by someone with the attitude I had today . Sadly had negative experiences at both shops in Whitehaven recently. Both as bad as each other. Used to be nice stores. What happened?

Came here for coffee and toilet. Coffee was burnt. Service was rude and slow. Employees were extremely obsessed with toilet security. Saw them following people (including customers) to toilet.

Pretty standard Costa, although not the largest branch. Friendly staff. A bit noisy if you're wanting peace and quiet.

It's a Costa, can't say much more than that, reasonable coffee and the odd cake etc. The important thing is it's open on a Wednesday afternoon!

Exceptionally slow service, uncoordinated staff, forgot to book our order, had to remind them twice. Ended up cancelling it and asking for a refund. Their kitchen and work surfaces were disgusting. A disgrace to an otherwise good coffee chain.

Efficient and friendly service. A great place to rest between visits to shops, the harbour or other places.

Went in for two take out drinks, ended up waiting an age. I don't mind a wait if staff look like they're doing what they can to hurry things along (been there myself, used to work in hospitality), but that was not the case...especially stopping in the middle of taking payment to have a non-relaged chat with another staff member. I think a bit of training is needed to speed things up to normal service speed...or at least a "sorry for your wait " would be nice.

Very lazy staff?If Corona did not reach you here, you are very lucky. Because the employees are so slow mostly time most customers no one following two meters, distance everyone on top of each other. Because useless people working.

No care at all to customers in the whitehaven shop. All staff making uber deliveries up whilst customers had a long wait. I WILL NOT BE BACK

It is a decent place to have a coffee and do some work. If you want to sit in you have to order before 17:00 during the week, as after that time the coffee is only sold to take out.

Typically Costa, great coffee, now cakes, pleasant surroundings, friendly staff. Minor gripe, there is only one toilet for all users, not ideal.

I like Costa, it looks nice and modern, quite cosy. Coffee is nice, quality. Some snacks are nice, although berry cake was hard, could hit it with a knife. Most staff are friendly, with one or two exceptions. The new seating outside looks cheap, and the toilets always smell awful.

Love hot chocolate bit disappointed as I went to both shops in whitehaven and they run out off marshmallow. What's a hot chocolate with no marshmallows and why did it take over a week to get them back in

I often come here the hot chocolate is amazing the only downfall is a lot of the time the queues are slow and the tables are all taken but if you time it right you can have a nice view of king street while your having your chosen drink pl entry of drinks and snacks to chose from would recommend a visit

Took my son for a hot chocolate, Decided to sit outside as inside was pretty full and it was a lovely day, Only trouble is, there was a queue and I meant leaving son outside alone, Not an option I'm afraid. Spoke to a member of staff(girl with glasses) Fantastically helpful. Took our order, gave her cash and loyalty card, She came back with our order. I had 1 very happy son. Thanks very much guys Fantastic service.

Good coffee as you’d expect but cake display was poor. I opted for a cinnamon brioche which unfortunately had to be returned- well past its best, refund offered and accepted

Generally ok, coffee is what it is, often runs out of toast & fruit teacakes. Serviettes must be at a premium, as you are awarded with one sometimes with food, most times you have to go ask for one.

opens early so im in for my chocolate and very nice it is to, they have toilets you vcan use, and you can sit in or take out, i sat in and enjoyed the drink and the warm while waiting on shop to open,

Reasonably quick service, staff were friendly as always and the coffee was great, the only niggle was the toilets were a little messy but given that it had been raining earlier on in the day that may have been why, but overall good place for a cuppa

Very disappointing the coffee was cold.

Quick service is the good thing. However a member of staff told me to go sit down and they'd fetch my drink across but this wasn't the case I actually had to go and get it myself but it had been waiting for a good 5 minutes before hand.
