Of all the costas we have visited they make the best cortados and on rainy days they are happy for our tiny dog to be inside.

It's a Costa so you know what to expect. However the service here is always good. Staff are friendly and helpful. Had a hot chocolate with cream which was delicious and a real treat. Card payments accepted. The toilet isn't the best and wi-fi is weak.

Had a take away hot chocolate to cheer myself up on a cold, wet day. Lots of COVID precautions in place so felt safe. Large hot chocolate was delicious and was less than £3 for a takeaway which was reasonable value. Contactless card payment.

Don’t normally go here as been awful since it opened. Popped in for a takeaway coffee as in the area. Placed smelled of gone off milk, there were flies around the mugs on top of the coffee machine. Gross. I reported this place to environmental health a couple years back. They said it was ok just understaffed!! A health hazard. Do not go there. Surprised it is still operating!!

Im not a Costa fan anyway, but as ive lived in the village of Hartley Wintney for Only 53 yrs , i thought i would try it and see what all the fuss is about, Rude staff, Redicuiously high prices for some slop in a cup, mine tastes better at home, toilets filthy, used the public loos in car park instead, sticky tables, floor covered in customers rubbish as was the pavement outside, seems all the unemployed sit here all day, what a Dump for undesirables. Should,ve opened a Sex Shop instead here would have welcomed it more than this aweful dive. Can.t any of the Parents who drop there children to school make Coffee as they seem to sit here all day and gossip..... Wonderful. This place is the PITS, sooner it closes the Better, Shouldn.t give it one star but could not rate it lower than terrible, so had no choice on the survey

Very dirty and tables strewn with empty cups etc. All 4 outside tables piled with same plus full ashtray. We decided on a takeaway! This is the norm at this Whitbread run Costa. Not enough staff to cope with the footfall. Only 2 staff on this occasion and one taking a break and not bothered to clear tables. Floor behind counter dirty with spillages and takeaway cups stored at floor level! I once went in here when the coffee machine was being serviced or repaired but the machine was still being used! A health hazard surely. Hartley Wintney is a lovely village with high standards - these should be maintained - even by the likes of Costa.

It’s a standard coffee shop, nothing special. You won’t get conversation from the staff as they are more interested in speaking to each other. What you will get is a reliable cup of coffee, something you know and don’t have to think about, and consistency. I always find HW a black hole of mobile reception, but if you download the Costa app you can (apparently) get free WiFi. Unfortunately you can’t download the app when in the store if you don’t have reception in the first place. I’ll download it before I go next time.

Called for coffee and sandwich break during a journey. Very noisy as limited soft furnishing, freezing cold as air con set to arctic on a coolish day, no proper sandwiches, no toilet paper and the staff were having a 'domestic' Will Not be visiting again when passing through.

Have not been into this Costa for a while. Lots of the tables were dirty. Busy but the young person behind the till wasn't at times and could have cleared the dirty tables. Place looks grubby and they were already out of bread, crumpets at 9 am. Needs to make more of an effort which is a shame.

I decided to come here while I was in Hartley Wintney as, having never eaten in a Costa before, I thought I would give it a try. Knowing that the sandwiches were pre-packaged items, I knew not to expect much from them and these turned out to be fairly typical for poor quality pre-made goods. I was disappointed by both the hard, dry, bland cake as well as the bitter hot chocolate though, which didn't live up the same standards as other Costas. If you've been to a Costa before, you know what to expect from the prices and this place was no different. It was nice to see my panini delivered to the table though, as some other places make you collect it at the counter if it is not ready at the same time as the rest of your order. The menu here is pretty standard for a Costa, which means that it is pretty basic, offering a fairly basic range of hot drinks, cakes and sandwiches. I was here before the Christmas menu kicked in, which meant that I experienced the menu when it was at its most basic level. Despite there being a fair number of cakes in the counter, the amount of variety was rather poor as almost everything on display was either a brownie of some kind, or something similar. If you are looking for food other than a cake, while I was here there were five paninis, six toasties, eight sandwiches and two wraps to choose from. The range on offer was far from exciting, with everything available having very standard fillings. While I was here I ordered a hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows, a mozzarella, tomato and basil panini and a slice of vanilla chocolate marble cake.I've had a hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows at various Costas several times before, but I was disappointed with the one I received here. The cream on top was thick but light, while it tasted pretty bland. They tried to get around this by sprinkling chocolate powder and an excessive amount of sugar on top, but I found there to be far too much of this. In my experience, most Costas place the marshmallows inside the drink, but they were placed on the saucer here. They also use big ones rather than small ones here and I was provided with three of them in total. Despite being surprisingly hard, these tasted average as expected. The hot chocolate itself was very frothy. I dislike a frothy hot chocolate to begin with and it didn't help matters that the froth tasted bitter and not at all pleasant. The hot chocolate below this was smooth and had a fairly chocolatey flavour, but it wasn't really anything special. This also tasted slightly bitter, although not as much as the froth. Costa's hot chocolate usually tastes better than this, so perhaps I caught them on an off-day, but I have had worse in other Costas. The mozzarella, tomato and basil panini was pre-packed, but toasted after I ordered it. I found the bread to be overly hard on the outside, while the inside layer had turned soft and mushy due to the toasted contents. This was mostly down to the cheese, which was so gooey that it wasn't far off being a liquid. The cheese tasted pretty average as far as mozzarella goes, but I found there to be far too much of this in relation to any of the other ingredients. In fact there was so much of this that, aside from barely being able to taste the tomato and basil, it was even difficult to taste the bread for the cheese. A high concentration of pesto in one area allowed me to at least taste this and it was nice to experience a different flavour. It's a shame that this wasn't more evenly distributed throughout the panini. Overall, this was pretty typical as far as pre-packed sandwiches go and, aside from the overwhelming amount of cheese, my expectations were more or less met.The vanilla chocolate marble cake was hard, crumbly and dry, while it was also lacking in flavour. All of this resulted in a terrible cake, which was easily one of the worst that I have ever consumed. The flavour in the cake was so weak that it was impossible to tell the difference between the plain sections and the chocolate sections, which both tasted identical to each other. I suspect that, rather than using chocolate, they had simply used a brown food colouring instead. The vanilla icing on top was soft, smooth and sweet. There was a distinct lack of vanilla though as it simply tasted like sugar. Despite this, it still tasted pretty nice. I felt that there needed to be more of it though as there was only a thin layer of it on top and, given the dryness of the cake, something moist such as this was essential. There isn't really a great deal to say about the service here as it was mostly pretty typical for a Costa. I placed my order at the counter, then stood waiting while they prepared it. My drink was ready before my panini, so I was told to take a seat and they would take it to me when it was ready. I thought that this was a nice touch at least as, despite being standard in independent coffee shops, several Costas make the customer wait at the counter for their entire order to be ready. That was the only real incident of note though as, aside from that, everything else was exactly as expected. The prices here are the standard Costa prices throughout the UK so, if you have been to one before, you know what to expect. Costa isn't the cheapest coffee shop, but it isn't the most expensive either and the prices are fairly reasonable. You are looking at roughly £2 to £3.50 for a hot drink, depending on which size you want, although a few fall either side of this price range. While the drinks are a bit more expensive, the cakes here seem to be a little cheaper than other places, costing about £1.50 if you take them out and about £2 if you eat them in. Paninis, toasties, wraps and sandwiches are then all £4 each, regardless of where you consume them.In terms of decor, this place looks like several other Costas. Large framed black and white photographs, which are identical to ones in other Costas, decorate the wall space, while a mirror with large text on it is located at the back. Various other mirrors and pictures provide decor but, aside from a notice board and a few advertising posters, nothing else has been used to decorate the room. The place could definitely do with some sprucing up as the yellow painted walls are far from clean, being covered with several stains, marks, scratches and dents. In total there are 14 tables inside, one of which uses a sofa as opposed to conventional seating. Things were very quiet when I was here and, as many people prefer to take away, you shouldn't have a problem finding somewhere to sit inside.

Typical Costa franchise in Hartley Wintney (not The Meadows in Camberley as stated in the address on Trip Advisor). Good for coffee and Hot Chocolate. They sell a limited range of food, mostly cakes and a few sandwiches. It's a coffee shop / cafe rather than a restaurant. Barista's which is about 15 metres away is a better option for meals (and also serves good coffees).Costa is usually busy, and has a few tables outside for smokers, people with dogs etc. Lots of cyclists break their rides here at the weekend.

Having given this over priced convent coffee house the benifit of the doubt the last time we visited at xmas fayre 2015...was amazed that the air con is still not working the toilets are just as disgusting as before the tables are not cleaned down and if you ask a member of staff if they can clean a table they look at you as if it is beneath there job discription...amazing prices 2 small hot chocolates..One caramel cooler. Latte. 2 x muffins and a toasties £20.05.....Toilet floor wet around toilet and sink wet floor sign...Toilet seat yuk.....One toilet for the whole café and no one to keep it clean....Windows with more condensation guessing due to again lack of viable working air con...Only difference this time it is not leaking everywhere....grotty...staff over looked 2 x hot chocolate for over 15 mins so had to go and ask about there whereabouts....card machine not working so had to scrape cash for the purchase....smells.humid and wet doggy...not the pleasant relaxed atmosphere of a coffee shop..In fact more like a health warning....will not use again children less than impressed with wait and the toilet...Needs a lot of work to make it viable worth spending over £20 $for 4 drinks and a toasties. And 2 muffins......One member of staff dispite the obvious language difference is the only one to appologise and for that it scores 1

This review is for the Costa in Hartley Wintney High Street (not the Meadows) think this has been set up wrong by someone else. Anyway the place is filthy and disgusting, the toilet was revolting, ladies lift the toilet seat and seat the colour of the underside it is revolting, I have complained to Costa over a month ago and been in there today and they've done nothing about it, truly disgusting. I have never been in such a poor Costa (and I have been in a few!!) When people say nothing is too much trouble this is quite the opposite as far as this Costa is concerned as everything does seem to be too much trouble. You ask a member of staff to clean a table and you get 'Huff' and she just brushes the crumbs etc on to the floor. You ask for you coffee to be done a certain way or in a cup and you get a 'Tich I suppose so'. This is all of course when you have been finally served as the service is always extremely slow.

I like Costa Coffee in general and this one fits the formula: a reasonably good selection of cakes and snacks and a wide menu of well-brewed coffee. Comfortable seats, busy, friendly staff. My biggest concern with Costa is the infernal noise of the coffee machines. I was in Canada a few months ago and visited their "national" chain, Tim Hortons. Somehow they manage to brew great coffee without the racket. I will be back at Costa, but not sitting anywhere near the counter.
