Arrived just before 9am and plenty of space to sit. Only one person serving, but service was relatively quick. I was looking forward to a white chocolate and raspberry muffin, but none on display and opted for an iced Bakewell - which tasted over sweet. The shop soon became busy as the outlet filled up and by 10am the customers were queuing out of the door. Probably wouldn’t visit again, as my coffee tastes have changed since I last visited.

Nice place to meet! Coffee is hit and miss. Depending what staff are on duty it affects how they make the coffee. As its never too hot jus luke warm which is annoying

Just wanted to commend the service on our visit today, The young chap organising the seating and tables was extremely efficient cheerful and thorough, He chatted to us at the door and informed us about the wait for a table, he then escorted my 91 year old mum to the newly sanitised table while I queued for coffee. He was working really hard to fulfil Covid restrictions and was clearly upbeat about England winning their match against Germany, Coffee and teacake were spot on making our visit successful

I find it quite surprising that a premium shopping outlet mall of this calibre has such a paucity of really decent coffee shops. There are 4, all part of coffee house chains: Costa, Starbucks, Bakers + Baristas, and 200degrees (the smallest of the chains). So you are limited to bog standard choices rather than a unique independent (and usually better) coffee house. The Costa outlet in the popular East Midlands Designer Outlet is probably the most consistent of them all. The inside seating area is comfortable, clean, and spacious, with social distancing measures and COVID-19 check-in requirements in place on both occasions of our two most recent visits, and clearly enforced. On our last visit, the outlet was only offering a take-out service because the area had been placed in a Tier 3 zone, and dine-in was not permitted. The outlet was very busy, and with only one staff member providing service the wait was quite lengthy. The coffee is OK; it’s quite robust with reasonable flavour, though strength does vary from time to time; sometimes my 4-shot Americano is sharp and strong, on other occasions it seems weak and lack-lustre. As expected, the chain offers quite a range of pastries, cakes and slices, toasties, sandwiches, panini and wraps, as well as soups as a lunch-time offering. As our visits have always been in the morning, I’ve only sampled the croissants, muffins, the lemon curd tart, and the Bakewell Tart. They were OK, though not exceptional. There’s a selection of gluten-free and vegan items on the menu. It’s a reasonable choice if you are desperate for a coffee and a bite during your shopping trip. But keep in mind it’s one of a huge chain. There are over 2000 restaurants in the UK alone, so don’t expect hand-made or anything unique.

Quit busy for 3.30pm. Very cold aircon inside, so sat outside. Nice pot of tea and tasty cinnamon bun.

Called in for a Latte while out shopping. Very nice coffee and relaxing surroundings. Cafe busy but clearing tables etc was efficient, and you didn’t have to sit with other people’s dirty pots.
