Great service and very polite and friendly

I popped in for a takeaway coffee. I didn't get acknowledged by any staff when I joined the queue and I was waiting a long time. A couple came in and they weren't acknowledged either. They asked me if it was the correct end of the queue to which I replied that I hoped so as I too was waiting to be served. The order for the customer in front was made incorrectly and there was a guy waiting at a table and his hot sandwich had been left in the toaster and forgotten about. I eventually got served but the staff were having their own conversations and weren't engaging with customers. I would not visit again and would not recommend to anyone

Amazing place with truly fabulous staff

Went there got a coffee it was like warm milk and water very little coffee in it at all could hardly taste it it was either all ready used coffee or they have cut down on the amount they put in when i pay top price for something i expect top goods not happy i gave it back and told them to throw it down the sink

The latte has a horrible taste, it's awful...very disappointed it was my favourite cafe for so many years, it seems that they no longer respect their customers when it comes to quality ...

Very busy but served very quickly by friendly staff

The mainly low stars are due to the drink I had today. I love bubble tea and therefore their new bubble tea drinks looked great from the picture. That's where the positive ends. It tasted like boring juice, the straws aren't big enough for the bubbles and it's overall a big dissapointment. Not happy with this at all sadly.

I am a regular to this Costa Coffee and this morning I was disappointed by the attitude of the Staff (10.05.23 - 6:15am). The table where I wanted to sit was dirty as were other tables. The place was empty therefore there was no excuse not to clean the tables. When I asked for the table to be cleaned I was greeted with a smirked grumpy face and the service was no better. This is not what I would call great Customer Service for the price you pay for a Coffee!!

The staff are always friendly at Costa Wetherby and we've been coming long enough now that they know our order! You never have to wait very long to get served, regardless of the size of the queue.

The best Costas I have been to by a mile. Highly recommended.

I don't know if it was because it was very busy but the service was very slow, plus the hot chocolate was very large that I couldn't finish it.

Went to costa wetherby with 2 friends , had a lovely welcome by two ladies serving -( lady with short silver hair ) drinks were made perfectly. Had a lovely gossip with lady behind counter whilst serving us. It’s the little things that create a good visit - keep up the good work

Seems like the most run down and dirty costa I have ever even in! Staff were friendly though.

The warming Hot Choc was lovely but the customer service was lacking. We had to ask about something and the server didn't make eye contact once and I'm not sure if he knows what a smile is. The guy making the drinks made up for it as he was very positive but the cashier :(. You can do better Costa.

Amazing hot chocolate and slice of banana bread/cake great customer service also.

Disgusting dirty and full of flies on all surfaces including where food been prepped no ice at 9:30am, no coconut milk so swapped for almond without asking, wrong order given first time around and staff couldnt care less and said they know its dirty and full of flies. Contacted management who said was motos fault it was dirty and ignored flies I was offered £5 gift card on a order of £19.

What should have been a usual smiley welcome that you get from most Costa coffeehouses this has got to be by far the most miserable! Not a single smile, welcome or offer of help from a single member of staff. They could clearly see that we were struggling to read the ever changing menu board and didn't offer any help, in fact we actually got scowled at and made to feel embarrassed so had to just quickly order a basic drink. Definitely won't be rushing back to this Costas! I gave it two stars because I actually enjoyed the vegan toastie

Generally Costa is great over all the chain and I go to this one a fair bit. Last twice I have been and had a take out latte, there has been at least a 3rd of the cup just foam. Dread to think what the cappuccino is like.

Clean, bright with decent service, the staff pleasant. Toilets very clean with a disabled toilet. Pretty central to the area.

Refurbished Costa Branch in Wetherby town centre,. More spacious and brighter.

This Store has been refurbished since my last visit. Brighter, Cleaner and more spacious. Costa has now incorporated quality Sandwiches from M&S. Free WiFi.

UPDATE: SInce my original review Costa has had makeover and WOW what a difference it's made! Whilst its not a total change of interior layout what's been done is stunning. Firstly there's a new counter - it's lower and and and far more customer friendly - and espresso machines. Then the seating area has been slightly re-planned and all the old furniture has been replaced with modern comfortable seating and tables. The whole place is a lot more inviting and welcoming, it makes you want to go back. The staff, I believe have changed too. Welcome back to Wetherby Costa! 👋 ________________________________ I like Costa but this branch is too small, is dark and dismal. Always have to ask for table to be wiped clean. Pleasant staff though!

Called in for a brew as I had time to kill. Was served very promptly and handed my brew on a tray with a dirty cup and the remnants of the last coffee round the rim. I politely asked for clean cup and was presented with a dirty cup. I pointed this out and the lad serving simply wiped the dirt off with his finger. I politely asked for another clean cup and asked the lad not to clean it with his fingers. So he handed me another dirty cup which I had to clean myself. I sat at a table that one of the girls had just cleared before going to chat with her friend, whilst leaving the table covered in crumbs. No wonder they don't have time to clean the cups. Shame really as the place seems nice and in a good location.

I came for a nice vanilla latte. And I can’t lie I wish I never did. A cleaner by the name of joey Airey sprayed his febreeze in my eye repeatedly, leaving my eye blood shot. He then proceeded to pour his coffee down my white stone island t shirt. I will be coming to collect £60 for my T-shirt if not his head is on the line

Nice Costa small but good atmosphere good friendly staff.

Wetherby Costa Coffee Shop has served as both a very convenient watering hole, as well as a place that has the surroundings for a budding Writer and Author, like myself. Three years ago, crossing over the threshold from the normal expensive Latte cafe/restaurant providers into Costa Coffee House, my whole life changed. The Coffee was hot, made to the strength as I requested, and the food well deserved its title; paninis, toast, scones and even snacks that are inexpensive for the quality. The staff were, and have remained to be courteous, kind, very considerate of your privacy, and above all, their shared friendliness has helped me overcome many awkward obstacles when it comes to socialising. Last year, through the relaxed atmosphere and lay out of the Costa Coffee House, I was able to complete my two novels through the ability to sit and use my laptop, android and phone through the free wi-fi. Personal. Support too, from the staff gave me the perfect amount of confidence to take me onto the next level. Costa Coffee House in Wetherby is by far unique, from the strangers that walk through the doors every day, to the friends that bid the staff farewell at the end of each working day. It will remain a home-from-home to me and my family, but always the best Latte provider that this country can offer. Additional Note: With a new makeover, making the premises look and feel upgraded and more relaxed, Costa Coffee Shop in Wetherby now attracts more people and serves a wider range of both drinks and food. A more settled environment gives it that post look as well as a great place to meet and greet. It has been my No.1 Watering Hole since 2010, and I very much doubt that is going to change anytime soon.

Always a great place for a coffee and something to eat

The Costa experience remains largely consistent across the country. Less patchy than Starbucks. The Wetherby branch does not let down the brand and the staff are friendly as well as efficient.

Hardly ever visit this Costa but it was cold and raining so we went in for a coffee. The Costa on the whole is great and I'm sure traffic has increased as on occasion you catch the leeds legend. Toilets need a serious clean or even an upgrade. For the amount you pay for a drink and snack AND to sit in the venu I'd like a decent toilet to go to that's clean.

First of all, don’t take too much notice of the address shown here as, although it is definitely in Market Place, the coffee shop is in Wetherby - not Leeds. Now on to the review. The Costa Coffee in Wetherby is a very nice branch of the chain, with stylish decor and comfortable seating. Other than that, what more can you say? You get the expected slick service and good coffee in comfortable surroundings. Ticks all the required boxes.

I returned a piece of dirty cutlery to the female of staff who proceeded to inspect it before giving me a replacement!. Then we sat in the establishment with no aircon in outside temperatures of 28 degrees. No one told us this was a problem on entering this unit. Needless to say we will never return to it.

The coffee was awful, it tasted burnt and the mocha had no flavour at all. The staff were rude and the tills weren't working so everything was written down on a piece of paper. No receipt could be given and no app points could be used. Just terrible. A Costa machine could have done a better job.

A Costa's petrol station makes a better coffee than the staff here... Think that brings the point across.

Coffe and cakes were up to the usual standard, but in the current COVID crisis, cleanliness was lacking. I sat and watched a member of staff wipe down 2 tables with a damp cloth taken from the side in the staff room, no sanitizing spray. I then saw another member of staff use the same cloth without even rinsing it wipe down the trays and plates in the staff area. Twice a member of staff pick up a sanitiser spray at the same time as a frequently used cloth and just hold it in their hand as if for show - it was not used once!!!! A very poor show, and not what I would expect from a well known chain.😪

In the Covid crisis the place at Wetherby is always available for a seat and a good cup of coffee tables kept clean, Toilets could be cleaner though.

Not very good at sanitising the tables and didn't even wipe the chairs down. It was as if the girl couldn't be bothered. She didn't even wipe the table down properly

I have visited Wetherby many times and always had a pleasant visit. Unfortunately, I visited today (11th July at 8.30am) and was appalled by the staffs rude behaviour. With coronavirus, of course I understand things are stressful, but we followed procedure and wore our masks and of course were polite. We had seen a promotion of £3 off a "welcome back drink" and so had all downloaded the app and signed up to receive the offer. First off, when my partner (who is from Liverpool) ordered, he first asked if he could use his app and was told yes. He then asked for a mocha and the lady on the till laughed and said, a what? He then replied again and she laughed again as if to mock his accent. He ordered my drink and then we scanned our apps, to which she replied "have yous just tried to scan both of your apps at the same time?" We said oh sorry we didn't know you can't, we will put it through separately. To which she rolled her eyes. My partner put his order through again and used his app and she charged him full price. When he asked if the app (£3 off) had worked, she said "oh you want to take money off?" Even though he had already asked. There were four of us ordering and when my mother in law went to order her tea she scoffed and said what you want to use the app too? Then turned around and told her colleague she "hates people using the app". Well next time, we won't, we will take our custom to a different coffee shop, discount or not! Don't offer it if your staff A don't know how to use it and B are rude when you do! Very disappointed and not what you need when things are stressful enough.

I like visiting Costas whenever I’m in nice market towns, and Wetherbys is no exception for quality. A lovely laid out cafe, with friendly staff and that wonderful distinctive coffee!

But disapointed asked for a lacto free coffee and normal one never asked us if it is due to intolerance. Gave us coffee never said wat one was wat plus asked for take out but cam win cups in stead so ended up sitting in.. Think u just need to train staff a little

Regular place to have a coffee and snack while waiting for the wife to finish shopping. Always busy but usually get a seat. Never seen the same staff on duty on each visit but they're always helpful and polite. Nice atmosphere.

Only use when there's no other option. Their coffee is bitter and bland. They don't accept dogs either, so when I do go I have to sit outside.

Arranged to meet an old friend for a coffee. I ordered my coffee, a black coffee. I was stood waiting at the point of order for at least 5 mins. There were 3 people behind the counter. No one else waiting to be served. The boy that served me just stood facing me, eventually I asked how long does it take to make a black coffee? He nodded towards 2 coffees that were standing on another counter 3 mtrs. to my right. Apparently one of them was mine. I asked if they had brown sugar.. I was pointed towards a shelf directly behind me at the other side of the shop. The staff are very unwelcoming to the point of being rude. I selected a table near the door, I asked for the table to be cleaned, a girl swiped a wet cloth over the table in a zig zag pattern, I asked , is that it? Yes was the reply. I sat down from my seated position I could see the shelf upon which the cake displays were stood was filthy. I had a few minutes spare before my friend would arrive so I ask to speak to the manager re the dirt. She was very brusque with her attitude, “we’re due a refurb.!” She snapped. I politely suggested that that shouldn’t prevent her from keeping a clean shop. She reluctantly told a member of staff to go clean the area. The girl with the wet cloth came and smeared the area. When I ordered my friends coffee I asked what coffee they used, “”it’s ground” was the reply. ”How much do you use in a medium cup?” ”90mg” he replied, “It’s very weak“ I said, ”Yeh it is” was the blunt but truthful answer. I will never enter this shop again, £5:00 for 2 extra weak excuses for coffee, rude staff, filthy shop.

The whole place is in need of a facelift! Extremely dingey with bad lighting, dirty floor, dirty tables and the toilet is horrendous! Service is hit and miss, which is a shame as I do enjoy a Costa coffee. If Management can correct the above then this place would become a regular visit.

Had an americano with a bacon bun deal. I really liked the bacon bun crispy bacon in a toasty crisp bun, very good. I am afraid I always find the coffee bitter

Although the staff are very nice and friendly the seating area was a bit grubby with mess on the floor. The main seating area could do with more lighting as it’s very dark and the toilet needs to be checked more often and cleaned and tidied.
