Costa Coffee in Burnley

Yummy❤️ it here... Nice hot coffee. Friendly staff🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 and yummy gingerbread muffs 🙂👍impolite staff????really???? I've been in here a lot and the staff have never been rude in fact they r a vv friendly bunch... can't do enough for you🙂 showing photos after the refurb nice& ♥️ the choc orange muffs yum😀 just tried hazelnut cake warmed with cream omg soooo good👍try the orange cake v nice but just tried a Bakewell not so nice☹️pricey?????value for money and if u join the coffee club u download the app and u will get beans each time u use the app then get a free coffee I can name a coffee shop that is not value at all

What is going on with these coffee shops? Yesterday, I was disappointed in one of their coffee shops in Blackburn(the notoriously closed toilet). Today, another disappointment in Burnlay. They refused to accept legal tender in the UK, a £50 note. The employee was explaining something to me, but he was talking to me with the part of his body we were sitting on turned away. In the end, I didn't get an explanation because how can you explain something like that. Or maybe I missed something. Maybe £50 is illegal in the UK?

Went to Costa Coffee in Burnley today and had a toasties and a coffee. The food and drink were OK. Unfortunately it was cash only as the system was down. I had cash, but alot of people were unable to pay by card or app. I wondered why there were so many empty seats at lunchtime.

Lovely large Chai Latte needed after 2hr Business Meeting 😋. I thoroughly enjoyed my chill out time, in the comfy seat, in a chilled out atmosphere 😀, oh &used my 10% off voucher, Happy Day🤩

Difficult not to think that this branch of Costa is currently in a spiral of decline based on recent visits. Dirty tables, indifferent staff, no proper cups and no Internet connection. Dismal.

No large coffee available, no toast, no porridge, and the server Georgia was messaging on her phone instead of making coffee, how rude

Usual good Costa Coffee, pretty much everything you would expect from them.

Some Costas coffee tastes different. Or maybe it's me forgetting to ask for half a shot. However, I always go to Costa, where I can.

Got the order wrong twice which I can not have cows milk due to allergy, complained there was only 3 members of staff and was rude to myself and other customers in the queue, "what do you want now" to a person simply waiting for her drink at the side. Ended up leaving my entire coffee without trying it due as I didn't want to receive anymore of her aggressive tone. Unprofessional.

Just had coffees so can't rate the food but the shop was clean and pleasant and staff were friendly.

Costa coffee is one of my favourite coffee store chains.

Nice place to visit situated in town center of Burnley. Other cafe's and restaurants nearby also. Sit down inside or outside

Coffee was lovely but had to ha e paper cups. This seems to be a very common problem in costa coffee machine not working. Shouldn't have to pay full price for a paper cup. This is not just at this costa but at numerous others. Needs sorting.

Spacious tearoom near Burnley market Hall. Smooth and friendly service, even when busy. There is an outdoor terrace that is partly covered, which is good in rainy weather.

Try upstairs for a more relaxed atmosphere

Rude Staff behind the counter. I was told the manager had not bothered to order any gift cards. I was given the last TORN CARD and then told their printer was not working - so I could not get a clear receipt. I was then told to complain to head office which I have every intention of doing.

Only popped in for a latte but great customer service and friendly atmosphere.

Enjoyed having a little treat here News years day. It was the only place open in town.

There was a lack of choice for dairy free products. I got toast and had to use a small amount of butter. I purchased a chia latte to be told they don't have cinnamon to sprinkle on top. My drink was lacking flavour due to this. People I support enjoyed their toasty and cup of tea

Who doesn't love a good coffee. Nice place, clean and tidy too.

I initially put two stars but by the end of writing my review I remembered a couple of weeks ago I was in a similar situation. It seems as though the online orders via Justeat and Uber eats etc take priority and therefore means everyone who orders in the store are stood waiting around getting in the way of people. There seems to be a lack of staff and leadership..Two coffee machines available but choose to use just the one. From ordering the coffee (1 Flat white) it took 15 minutes to get it. Business model needs looking at where walk in paying customers should take priority. Costa trying to take maximum profits at whatever cost it has on customer service, whilst having bare minimum staff members struggling to keep up.

Expensive for a coffee compared to the better tasting McDonald's coffee

Visited Burnley for son to buy a camera bag and called into Costa Coffee for lunch. Staff very friendly and we enjoyed our toasties and drink.

Only a 4 star due to sometimes they don't have marshmallows available.

Very busy little coffee shop, staff always friendly and seasonal drinks are divine. Highly recommend the black forest hot chocolate.

What as happened in such a short time, the service was terrible and it was empty?, They had no brown sugar out, I ordered toast they had no knives I had to wait till they washed one, I am a Costa fan and always have a larger dry Cappuccino this was more a dreary looking flat white, a family with small children sat near me they waited nearly 20mins for toast for their small children and the were given one knife between 3 lots of toast, what the hell is wrong?????

Still very slow service compared to Costa in Tesco or at Nelson. Too small inside so hard to find a seat & when you do people are passing your table so close you have to keep moving.

The day the staff will STOP touching the lid they provide with every coffee when you select take our option will be the day I give this place more stars. It is very disgusting for all the staff working to handle money and then go and touch the lid that touches my mouth. Basic hygiene training might be needed, God knows where else their hands have been... During this global pandemic time you would expect them to wear gloves or have the customer put on their lid, but no... it is just disgusting

Its Costa a average coffee house .

As a student myself i frequent this costa almost every morning . Always lovely service . however on multiple occasions one of the baristas has been consistently rude and dismissive to me and my friends , making rude remarks and we where told to leave when sitting with drinks in the middle of the day , no where near closing time. she always has a scowl on her face and never even pretends to be polite . what a shame

Good food , excellent atmosphere and decor but rather pricey.

Very rude, hateful and confrontational staff. Ready to bicker and argue and they do NOT like following instructions or preferences. I do not understand why are thee wage jockeys so arrogant and argumentative? Repeat complaints to COSTA will be submitted b/c the staff simply do not want to behave with decorum. Enough is enough.

WARNING - Legal Notice of Challenge ; Petition to Remove Negligent, Non-compliant , Insubordinate Baristas; I visit COSTA as and when required but always faced hateful behaviour from the baristas who refuse to comply one way or the other. Moreover, ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS in 2019,2020 and 2021, the baristas started cleaning the coffee machine a good 15 minutes prior to closure time and I was told "I have already started cleaning the coffee machine , sorry I can't serve you". Logically and mathematically this does not make sense b/c if the closing time is 1700 then the baristas MUST BE READY TO SERVE till the time ends on the dot but atleast on 10 separate occasions throughout 2019, 2020 and 2021 I had to deal with this unprofessional, dishonest, petulant, prejudiced behaviour which has taken my faith off of Costa as a brand and I feel disgusted to even attend the store. The girls are very non-compliant and do not follow instructions ie cinnamon topping or temperature of coffee. They bicker and argue at every bit which is exhausting, maybe that is their prerogative. COSTA MUST TAKE action against these baristas and remove such hostile, unprofessional baristas that are damaging the brand reputation at large. Professionalism is a trickle down phenomena and the manager must be tightened to then discipline her workers to prevent future obsolescence. This has to end and some recent complaints have been submitted which must be taken seriously and dealt with gravity otherwise we will INITIATE MCOL protocol.

STAFF DIRTY TOILETS The toilets are unkempt, unhygienic and dirty. Please ask the staff to treat ALL customers and patients with dignity and respect their instructions / preferences and NOT GET UPSET / IRRITATED. There is no sense of respect for the customers. Why are they getting irritated when we specify certain drink or temperature preferences? Please make an effort to train the staff in customer services .

No significant rivals in Accrington so costa is the one, unlike Burnley which has 6 or 7 in one area

The surroundings were clean and tidy and the service was friendly and speedy. Great place to rest and consume a beverage.

Very nice place with pleasant and nice staff. Just the system inside is so ineffective that you wait for cup of a tea for 20 minutes in front of the door with brings lot of cold from outside. Really appreciate the effort of people with are working here because work in such a stress as they have is breathtaking. Not coming again. Not recommending

Cost a fortune, poor customer service... Staff way to busy chatting amongst themselves to give you a please or thank you... I think we'll steer clear in future

Perfect place to sit down and relax when out shopping

Service was really poor, staff too busy chatting to eachother to serve despite it being quiet. Whilst I have worked in customer service for many years and understand the stress of working there, Lauren served me and it was not up to standard. Staff only seemed irritated and did not even bother to provide a basic thank you. Were quick to return to their chat. The drink itself was ok, had been better at other Costas I'd visited so I'd give the Burnley Town Centre one a miss.

Fantastic staff at this branch, always eember what I have and have it ready in no time at all.

Although the coffee is good this is not a good Costa cafe compared to most others. Small, with little room to negotiate around tables and chairs for someone in a wheelchair. Other cafes in the same area provide a much better experience, and a wider choice of food. We haven't returned.

Clean inside and out, a wide variety of sweet and savoury foods, plenty of outdoor seating available and nice to sit slightly in the shade on this side of the street rather than in full sun.

It was as good as we have come to expect. Always love a Costa

Tables left with dirty cups and plates. I asked for the table to be cleared and sanitised outside sat for over half hour nobody bothered to come out and clean even the tables inside were left with trays
