Costa Coffee in Norwich

Generally quite good, staff are all nice and service is fast. However i've come twice this week and the first time they were quite low on pastries and the next time they didn't have the drink I wanted! Not the end of the world but slightly upsetting.

Please note. NOT DOG FRIENDLY. Despite Costa having a general dog friendly policy we were turned away today with our very well behaved pooch. Apparently, despite being outwardly no different to any other Costa, with no such information in the Costa app or anything obvious online to clarify I was informed they are a "franchise" and as such that particular store doesn't allow dogs. Frustrating, as the weather was awful and we'd walked there specifically for a coffee out of the weather whilst our car was MOT'd nearby. Seems despite Costa policy it's an utter lottery as to whether different venues are actually dog friendly or not. This one is very much not. Very confusing as we've taken our dog into many others with no issues. Having been to this one before without the dog they seem happy to accommodate annoying people chatting away on their laptops and phones for hours in teams meetings and business calls whilst nursing a single coffee - rather than accommodate a well behaved dog? I know what environment I prefer. I once had to sit next to someone at this particular franchise for 45 minutes whilst they jabbered their way through a budget meeting! Yet my dog can't come in and sit quietly whilst we enjoy a coffee? For any dog owners that end up here, we were happy to discover the Hungry Horse on the otherside of the carpark is dog friendly, much cheaper and were happy to have our business.

Needs a good dusting. Lower prices would be nice. More meat in sandwiches wouldn't hurt. Ie a complete layer between the bread and thick enough to taste.

There's one guy that works there who's just so miserable.

Coffee shops are very last year. Same old same. Better than Starbucks

Nice and clean site, feels a bit more open plan than some Costa's, tabkes are not so on top of each other. Staff friendly and helpful.

Came here during the week in the morning for something to eat I visited around 10am. The staff are not very talkative and there is not much of seating areas if you have a pushchair it can be a bit tight especially when it's busy. I had a bacon sandwich and there was not much bacon in my roll and my coffee was not really hot unfortunately.

Although it's a relatively new Costa it always seems a bit drab somehow. Staff are always friendly enough however.

A big family of adults and kids sitting inside with take away cups and eating greggs food and kids had cans what they took inside then when they finished that lot then went and sat on the seats outside and rolled their flags. None of the staff said anything.

Absolutely adore this Costa, staff are friendly and take care with making your meal/ drink, polite and always served with a smile. Go here often on lunch and even though we may eat in they remember that we always like to have our takeout cups incase we are called back into work. Thank you staff at Costa

As a former barista I can just say a little more care in making the coffee would have been nice. Two lattes slapped together whilst it was quiet. I understand there is a lot of cleaning to do in the evening at Costa as I was an employee but I always had pride in my drinks and I just didn't feel the love. The shop was generally clean and the atmosphere was okay. Lighting is a little dim so my eyes were straining (probably just a personal issue) All around good place to grab a coffee. No real issues here.

Terrible service staff member was rude tge shop lacked any atmosphere the staff member didn't offer any extra topping like marshmallow,cream or anything else with the hot chocolate expensive for a basic hot chocolate

One of the best made Americanos I've ever had, including Indy cafe's.

So here in this Costa,service was so terrible I nearly walked out,I have never waited so much time for coffee and it wasn't that busy (I was 2 in line), person who was doing coffee was all over the place but there was enough staff to have each job for each staff member... But barista was running from place to place and doing photos of made coffees, normally I do not mind but waiting nearly 25 min for one drink, that's crazy maybe it was trainee but then where was supervisor?

This is my favourite branch, it runs very smoothly whenever I'm there and the staff are very friendly. The manager Mel clearly takes her job seriously and is a credit to the company. The Lemon and blueberry cake which I tried today for £1 through the app was delicious too.

Asked for Latte and Cappuccino with no choc sprinkles. Got luke warm latte and choc sprinkles? Service here was really slow with a 13 min wait time. Unusual for a Costa.

Standard Costa, but felt a little grubby and tables weren't cleared very quickly probably because not enough staff were available. The cake I had felt a bit old and was pretty dry, the coffee was fine though

Can't really comment as had our dog and not dog friendly so sat outside. My partner went in and ordered coffees as Greggs next door coffee machine was out of order.

The staff were lovely but there was lots of dirty crockery on many tables so you felt it was untidy and chairs being scraped on floor while sweeping was going on so it didn't feel relaxing. Coffee was good. We didn't eat so can't comment on that.

Wow! Highly expressed with the service here. Vegan food and drink options available. Every care taken to food allergies. Friendly service. Disabled parking bays outside shop. Clean toilet facilities.

Nice enough, a costa is a costa wherever you go. Staff were nice, although I did ask for takeaway but was given it as dine in initially. They soon changed it.

Busy late morning on a Tuesday. A baby screaming but I can cope with that! All food well prepared and hot. Drinks were excellent as always. Staff very friendly and professional.

The regular lady behind the counter is fab, supremely organised, friendly and polite. She makes excellent drinks. Food is the usual offerings

Would have been five stars but the menu they advertised that's new out a few things wasn't available at the time i went (which considering it was new and still not in is a bit of a downfall ..)

Really miserable staff, one of them had a real unfriendly 'couldn't-care-less' attitude, he made me feel I was a major inconvenience for being there ordering my coffee. His appearance was totally unprofessional too. Then when collecting my drinks the order was wrong, no apologies either. The coffee was weak, the pastry I had tasted stale. I normally love Costa coffee chains but this was a really poor example. Only giving 2 stars because the place was at least clean and tidy.

I left after waiting for over 5 mins, when there were 3 staff and only 2 people in front of me in the queue. Went to Asda instead .

Extremely slow service and very poor customer service. We came in 40minutes before closing and 2 employees was already closing up, bringing tables and chairs in, even though there was still a customer sat inside. There was only 1 person on the till who was working incredibly slowly despite 4 people in the queue. After 10 minutes of waiting we asked a member of staff walking by if someone else could jump on the till and the response was a curt "there's already someone serving" and she walked off into the office. Needless to say we put down our food and left. Won't be giving this Costa our custom anymore.

always a good visit. only reason for a 4 star is that I have to listen to my wife complaining that Costa no longer do ham n cheese paninni

It's your usual Costa but in slow motion. A little hustle wouldn't go amiss.

If you are stopping by I highly recommend the strawberry lemonade. I asked the staff what to have and they suggested it. It's delicious! Also the staff are super friendly and very happy to help. 5 stars and I will be back ☺️

Great coffee but service was slow

It’s was extremely slow service

This is the slowest, and possibly worst, coffee shop I have ever been in. The queue was so mismanaged I ended up waiting half an hour. I had to tell a member of staff 3 times that I wanted to take my order away. The milk for the cappuccino was seriously overheated and made it taste burnt and not anything like a coffee. Go to Greggs next door and save yourself a lot of time and money.

Friendly staff but SO SLOW!!!!! I waited 20 minutes in the queue yesterday. They only had 2 staff on and they were working flat out. They need more people in there.

Lovely staff, BUT certain ones are far to slow!!!! One could see a massive que and asked us if it was OK for her to call her daughter to makesure she was up!! 😡

WAY TOO SLOW just to order a single coffee and a muffin. They are nice staff but they should prioritize to serve the costumers as fast as possible.

The staff are nice but this has to be the slowest Costa I’ve ever been in by a long shot.

Even though the staff members have always been nice and lovely, they are WAY too slow. I’m sorry, but the service in this Costa needs to improve in that sense. All other coffee shops I go to are always so fast but this one in particular every time I go, the staff seems to take their tame as if nobody has places to be…. For two times I nearly missed my bus. I think employing more staff members would also be useful.

The staff here are really friendly and very efficient with massive ques they plough on through the orders. Large seating area with a variety of spaces to sit. Love it.

Popped in for a coffee and peace to do some work. Waited over 10mins, only me needing to be served, with staff, leaning already clean tables, chatting and laughing. Finally got served by blonde female member of staff, no ‘sorry to keep you’, rude and abrasive’.. Half way through serving. Walked off for bother 5min, finally got coffee that was almost as impressive as the customer service..

Clean and tidy and the staff as always polite. Coffee was incredibly good. The food ordered was nice as well. You know what you're getting from Costa.

Just disappointed. I placed an online order to eat in. over 15 minutes later I check the app to see the status still says placed , so I check with the staff who said ,” yes , your order is at the other end .” Now even though I ordered to eat in our drinks were in a paper cup. And they had just been sat there for 10 minutes. I’m fine with the fact that they are in paper cups, but the fact that the staff didn’t press the completed button to notify me that my drinks were ready! Come on costa you can do better than this !

This Costa is always busy and they're always so understaffed. However staff are always super polite, just feel sorry for them. I've had to walk out multiple times as the queue is taking too long. Regularly out of oat milk and vegan options are lacking.

Staff slow, was given a takeaway plastic cup when I was sitting in, so wasn't even asked, so had to go and just take a cup as wad ignored by staff as I waited at the counter. Gfs straw snapped in half so had to go up again to get one. Wad given a quizzical look by staff member . Terrible all round really, should have gone to Asda next door. Probably half the price too!!!!!

Bring back the Mozzarella & Tomato Panini! It was my guilty treat every Friday & now its been taken off the menu!! 😮 They were soooo delicious 😫😭

Came here with a 4 year old today. Waited in the queue, ordered drinks, waited for drinks to be made, all as usual. Got to the table and 4 year old needed the loo. Took him over only to discover that BOTH toilets are out of order. Considering they can advertise for staff on the door, they could definitely tell you there are no toilets. Asked staff who said there are no toilets and they didn't tell us before taking our money because "it's a delicate situation". Had to trek over to the back end of Asda to find toilets, praying all the way that the boy won't wet himself! Meanwhile all drinks were getting cold back at Costa. Absolutely astonished, they obviously care more about the ££ in the till than customers with children.

Great staff members very friendly

Today was my first visit to this costa location. The 2 staff that were working today deserve a pay rise! I don't know if there are always only 2 staff members working on a Sunday afternoon?, If so then management need to consider this and the affect it has on the staff and customer experience. I waited 20 minutes for 2 drinks with only 4 people in front of me in the queue. The 2 staff members were lovely and were working their t*ts off to serve everyone in the store and prepare online orders. C'mon Costa your staff and customers deserve better!
