Costa Coffee in Gateshead

Tables are left covered in trays, cups saucers etc, never see anyone clearing the tables or wiping them down. 😔

The team in this store is amazing. Especially the 2 who were in on Friday 4 October 24 around 4pm. I come in with my dog and we always get a warm reception. Good friendly banter and Luna loves the cuddles and attention she gets. Oh and the coffee is great. The reason we keep coming back is because of how welcome we are made to feel as soon as we walk in the door. Well done Costa!!

the service was very nice and the place was beautiful. the only negative was that they didn't clean the tables often, and so we had to clean them for ourselves. and we bring the coffees and the plates from the previous customers to the staff.

Had a latte and blueberry muffin, very nice

An old bank building so it has limited light indoors, that said, it's much nicer on the terrace if the weather allows.

Went on a lovely quiet day and sat outside, staff brought food to our table and were very friendly. The toilets were in good condition as well.

It took the better part of an hour for two drinks to get to me. I’m barely a mile from the store where I bought it. It took 45 minutes just get to Preparing. The drinks were not hot on arriving. £15 for this? What a joke.

Second time no mini muffins been charged for them Who checks the orders before they leave shop

Only had 2 items on my order only received coffee which l really enjoyed Seem recently most orders I make to different out let’s always on item missing

when do yous get the blt and chicken n bacon sandwiches in 🤷🏿‍♂️they are never in and when yous do yous wont sell me as you told me delivery only. Disgraceful

no paper straw for the frappe. No sugar and no stiring sticks. Coffee is stronger than usual so I suspect not enough milk in our lattes. but thats okay ços its still delish

did not get food... driver caling me tellinhg e he utside house when he was not even in my street,, waitied over hour,, he then got 2 different strangers to call me ask where i live, joke i still never got my order,, the an could not even speak english im expecting full refund as i never got y order,, im very very angry about this,, especially getting 2 strangers to call my phone and ask y address,,, unreal NEVER EVEN GOT MY ORDER

The atmosphere in the café is welcoming, I love the smell of coffee getting made as you wait. The wait in line isn't long and the selection of food is really good.

This Costa is actually brilliant for a working cafe. Didn't realise this until recently but has lots of single table seating with plugs everywhere. Will be back if I ever need a break from the home office! And the staff were absolutely great, having fun and bantering with the customers.

Years ago, some good staff worked here, but now all whomever’s in charge of hiring hires are fat women and homosexuals. That to me is discrimination and the opposite of what the Cultural Marxists call “diversity.” Plus I don’t want to be served something I’m going to eat/drink by repulsive, repugnant deviants with high STD rates — it’s both off-putting and unsafe. As a member of society you have an obligation to other citizens to be personable, but when you work in a forward facing retail job it’s your duty and your job to have a pleasant demeanour and appearance. The staff at this branch have neither of those qualities.

A branch of Costa in the Low Fell area of Gateshead in a converted former bank which is very busy at lunch times open 7 days a week and does many takeaway orders On my visit the staff got my order wrong twice and seemed indifferent to their mistakes The prices of biscuits cakes etc have almost doubled too

This is a nice costa. Happy staff, always quick. The place is always spotless, there's are nice seating options inside and out, and it's in a good spot for both local Low Fell shops & buses.

Can't speak more highly a bout this branch! Always friendly staff (loved the singing by the way!) called I with my partner after work as a treat. Amazing service guys! Keep up the good work 😘

No Belgian cookie, but they did replace it with triple choc biscuits, which I guess is better than sending nowt, haha.

I ordered a sandwich, a smoothie and a biscuit for my lunch. Only the smoothie and biscuit came - no sandwich. I have tried numerous times to call the shop. Constantly engaged. Shock! I could’ve went to the Savoy! £14 for a biscuit and a smoothie. No thanks.

No tomato in my panini and there were clumps of milk in my drink?

Always a great coffee soya latte all the way

No straw with the frap so unable to drink it other than that was good

Hot day, delicious cold drinks a-plenty. All crafted and served by a gorgeous blonde with braces, so kind and chatty. Mango & passion fruit cooler is lush. So too is the choc fudge brownie frappe. Been here a few times. Deffo coming again

Staff appeared rude. Staff at the register appeared as if she was laughing at my drinks order. Heard another member of staff at the coffee machine insisting that someone else make my order as it was too complicated. I felt uncomfortable whilst waiting for my drinks and had hoped for a more friendly atmosphere.

Perfectly fine as long as you’re not expecting there to be any vegan options. This must be the unluckiest shop in the country given the amount of times that the items they order never seem to turn up. The new plant based milk they started using recently is absolutely vile. They used to use Alpro so I guess this was a cost cutting option But if you don’t care where your food comes from then you can give it 5 stars. I gave it two because the staff are nice enough and apologetic.

Very poor selection of produce fridges and shelves had little to choose from and most had sold out, the place was very untidy and very loud, the staff were very slow and my toastie was burnt. Sorry guys but it just wasn't up to the standard of other costas.

The coffee was so late. It was also cold and had to be heated in the microwave. It was the delivery that was the problem. You can't fault the restaurant

Driver was not helpful and couldn't understand Me when they called me for delivery instructions despite putting it clearly on order.

Very friendly, nice and clean, staff always helpful and frequently serve drinks to the table in busy times so no need to stand at the counter for too long, small area to sit outside.

Me coffee was lovely thanks. Got this as a lil pick me up for my partner who was feeling down. Worked a charm we've had a really nice coffee together, delivered on time and I really appreciate the things you put on em to stop em spilling. Cheers guys.

Leisurely cuppa, pleasant atmosphere. Could do with additional staff, one takes the order, another puts it up, so bit of a wait if there is a few customers.

Didn’t read my notes where I asked them to label the decaf one and I can’t have caffeine so now I can’t drink my coffee gutted as I don’t know which ones decaf:( but everyone else enjoyed there’s so thanks

Ordered a medium hot chocolate and when I received it there cup was only 2/3rds full.

No coffees labelled no sugar included

Asked for sweetener but none provided

I love a Costa. But in this place it took ages despite loads of staff and 2 customers. No one looked like they knew who was doing what. And the coffee and hot choc were awful. sorry. Won't be back. I'm sure just a bad day.

Food / drink Standard as usual for Costa but dispite reduced seating capacity, and only 1 customer Infront of me it took me 5-10 mins to get a drink from arrival. Also when informing customers that there are no tables left no apology was made. Of the several occasions I have been in I never have a pleasant experience and would not return if my wife didn't like the drinks.

2 staff on both working as slow as possible, won't be returning

Had a very poor experience today usually the staff are nothing but helpful and friendly! I went around 11.30am today greeted by a lovely gentleman who opened the door for me then went to the counter to be greeted by two staff who looked like they had better things to do i asked for a Terry's orange hot choc for them both to snap at me there is none there's a sign! I mean this sign was tiny as I had my mask on i didn't have my glasses on! I said il be two seconds to check what my friend wanted in replace to then go back in again lovely gentleman opening the door to them both still doing something so I placed my order no acknowledgment until maybe 2 mins after the man asked if it was a medium no thankyou or pleasantries at all appalling whens its probably my only bit of normality during this awful time and also didn't ask if cream was wanted? Very shocked as my previous visits have been superb

It's a Costa coffee. The coffee is adequate. As there are approximately 3 Costas for every person on the UK now this review seems redundant. You are likely paid in Costa credit and at least indirectly employed by them now. The post Brexit economy will be entirely Costa based. YOU WILL DRINK THE FLAT WHITE BECAUSE COSTA DEMANDS IT. The Tiffin is quite nice.

Nice place to chill out. And the dog was allowed in too, which was a bonus!
