Costa Coffee in Middlesbrough

Went through drive through ordered one coffee, kept me waiting a long time, but they're very clever they got me to pay first in case I got fed up with waiting and decided to drive away. Very poor.

Visited today - waited a few minutes to be served whilst the staff chatted to each other. Place was an absolute mess, zero cleanliness! Needs a good refurbishment, was served my drink/milk in damged old porcelain. Expected miles better.

Poor service twice now. I drove here on two occasions where I arrived during a weekday around 18:55 and yet have been told they are short staffed so cannot serve you, even though their opening times are until 7pm. The staff are not very polite at this branch and they have lost a customer. I recommend Costa at Cleveland Retail Park as they are helpful and friendly and shut on time, not before their stated opening times.

Entered store at 7.50pm wasn't told were closing earlier until all 5 of us had ordered and paid for drinks when we were informed they would have to be to go as they were shutting at 8pm even though door said 9pm and receipt said 10pm. Service was slow and rude. Very disappointing as visit Stokesley store regularly and always very positive experience

Coffee was rubbish.i can make milky coffee at home for about 20pence.absolute waste of money.retrain them at your stokesley branch.

It's a Costa, same as the others but the staff are friendly so that's good

Don't miss the speaker in the drive thru or you have to drive back round. Told by a physical person who could of taken my order at the window

The service at the drive-thru was so poor. We were waiting for over 15 mins in total to get our drinks. Not worth the wait.

Took ages for my order and when it was done all the cups were dirty. The tea cup was returned and the guy checked 4 cups before giving me a clean one. The latte glass had a ring half way up which was clearly from someone else's previous drink. We left both drinks. Not recommended

Coffee was like hot milk took it back and then got the order wrong very poor for a costa wouldn't return

This CC has improved a great deal over the last year or so. The newer Staff are friendly and efficient and the eating areas are a lot cleaner. Enjoyable space to spend an hour or so.

Very small car park and an annoying woman on speaker phone so loud all could hear?

This is one of my three go-to local Costa drive-thrus. I do like this drive-thru and intend to keep visiting, but wanted to leave this review to help others. I've given the place 3 stars as it is below the standards of the drive-thrus at Wynyard and Darlington Retail Park. Quality of food and drink is standard and of great quality, but service does let the experience down. On my most recent visit I ordered 2 lattes and purely by picking them up, could tell one was half full (the froth made it look full), on politely asking the server to top it up, I was politely challenged with a "that's how the lattes are made" which is clearly a stock answer to any unhappy customers. So..to other customers, just stay aware of your drinks to see that the cup is full of liquid and not half froth. That said, it is a good place to visit and generally quiet and quick to get through.

Amazing service friendly staff great atmosphere 5🌟

First time I went, we tried the drive through. We waited for 5 mins without being acknowledged then we were told to wait a minute and they didn't come back so we gave up after another 5 minutes. There was not even anyone in the shop to justify the wait. This time, every single outside table and most of the indoor tables were covered in rubbish. Behind the counter was disusting. Two dirty cups of coffee were sat on the coffee machine and were used to make my coffee the reused again. There were flies everywhere as there was dirty dishes and food left out. There was also someone restocking the baked goods who was touching them without gloves then started touching the indide of the toasties boxes with the same hands. The only redeeming quality are the stadd who are nice as always. Overall, it is an absolutely disgusting place and unlike any other costa I've ever been in.

Shocking customer service. Sat waiting at drive through order station for at least 5 mins being the only car there and nobody was there to ask for order. Drove around to the window and called in but no answer. Went in to shop and explained to them what had just happened they laughed and said the headset was dead. Both staff very rude while I was in the shop - one did apologise on the way out. Also order was incorrect. I asked for a biscoff rocky road and got a plain rocky road. Chi latte wasn't up to scratch milky and no taste to it. Very surprised Costa. Never had customer service like it from one of your shops.

Poor service, waiting 15mins for coffee, other customers had waited half hr and toast had been stood 20mins before the coffee was made!!

Good coffee outlet we frequent it as the only one nearby that's open after usual hours. Availability sometimes an issue for popular items(never got my hands on the Mango frappe 😢) however no one to blame for it. Staff friendly and attentive.

Stood for 10 minutes before I was acknowledged then waited another 15 minutes for my order which was wrong. Asked for two strawberry lemonades and a latte, got brought two lemonades and a latte made with coconut milk. Customer care was atrocious. Certainly won’t be going back to this particular Costa

i ordered a mango bubble frappé but they didn’t have it, they said that they would give me the same thing in a different flavour. I ended up getting a whole new thing without bubbles in, i’m shocked. I just got a flavourless milkshake, not even close to the same at all. It was a completely different thing, i don’t recommend going and ordering this as they will probably get it incorrect like they did with mine. I am never going back there and if i ever do i’m not getting this again. my aunty got another flavourless one, we came home and added our own flavour to it, this is absolutely shocking. I’m fuming as i was so excited to have my mango BUBBLE frappé just for it to come without bubbles or flavour. i am never going back to this costa. I know that not all costas are like this but this riverside one is actually so bad and i hope not all are like this!!

A diabolical drive thru experience, measured over multiple visits. You can quite easily wait 5 minutes or more to be spoken to and have your order taken. Your order may well be wrong... so let's check the receipt... someone else's receipt... coffee is a total let down which if it was still good may well have saved this review. Tastes burnt or at times a little sour, bad milk? Are machines being cleaned properly? Used to be an efficient venue; now hopeless.

If I could give less than 1 star I would, by far the worst Costa I have visited. Three times I have come to this Costa and had problems each time, either my order is wrong, they have something out of stock or my order isn't to standard. This current experience has left me no choice but to leave a bad review. I asked for a chocolate fudge frappe, I was told they had no whipped cream which although disappointing I was still happy to purchase. The problem came when I tasted my drink, it tasted like mango it seemed that they haven't cleaned the blender prior to making my drink.

Tables dirty, pots sent back dirty, not good at all. Asked for latte in a cup, dint listen and brought it in the glass .

More areas closed off than actually open the majority of the time, not the most inviting of signs to be forever herded into an area of staffs choosing due to apparently constant cleaning. Why it can't be done prior to closing and not hours before is the question.

The only branded Coffee Shop, which does not offer WIFI, not great for business meeting unless you plan to hotspot. Also air conditioning on cold, even when everyone is wearing jackets inside to keep warm. It would be obvious to turn it off.

Asked for Americano with cream on arrival I was given a pot of squirty cream don't think they had a clue what they were doing

I was so happy that I popped to Costa on my cycle ride as I had forgotten my drink bottle, but was so shocked to receive my Vanilla Latte free from the young lady who was serving the Drive Thru. The young lady told me that I had surprised her cycling upto her window and that it was the best interaction she had had that day so was pleased to hand me my coffee - thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤

ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS. Ordered through Uber Eats, and when the order came all of the coffee was spilled inside of the drivers bag due to NO holders / boxes. On top of this, the one bag that did not look damaged then SPLIT as I took it, spilling all over a brand new carpet which is now costing us more to have professionally cleaned. Oh and you would expect a business that is open to actually ANSWER the phone, right? Well, you thought wrong! I've placed 18 calls to this place this morning, none of which were actually answered. 30 quid down the drain, I will be disputing this with my bank and also going to press. Enjoy your company being shown for what it is, AWFUL.

Good Costa with a big drive-through and eat-in (when we're allowed). The staff are really friendly, efficient and fast! It's also near KFC.

Really slow service and abrupt attitude, four empty tables in the shop, all four had the previous customers crockery on for most of the duration of my visit, customers having to clear other customers crockery to be able to sit down is wrong anytime but even more so in the midst of a pandemic

Waited 22 minutes at the drive through, points machine not working again!. Also marshmallow’s for the daughter where disgusting like out of date.

Staff behind counter uninterested. Asked for flat white got served a cappuccino which wasn't the best. Tables were being cleaned and sanitized as customers left.
