This place is the worst experience I’ve ever had. I was served by Joe and she should not be in hospitality. She was grumpy, rude, slow, and highly inefficient.She felt like she did not want to be there.She took my order, put my sandwich in the toaster and did not follow up . Which usually how it happens in costa. She just vanished somewhere with an annoyed look on her face. I am heavily pregnant and waited 25 mins for my sandwich and found out they gave it to someone else. When I complained she shouted back at me and got annoyed and aggressive. I’ve been to this place before and this is the first time I have come across such a person in hospitality. And I’ve been working in hospitality for 12 years.

Staff are rude and miserable. Nobody knows which queue to get on and whichever one it is, a member of staff will bark at you, ‘There’s another till there!’, but nobody is there. Maybe the area manager should pose as a cust.

Absolutely disgusting health violation.... found a long grey hair in my tea that was stuck to the tea bag. Only realised after ihad drank half the cup. Absolutely gross. If you look carefully at the photo you'll see me lifting the teabag with a strand of someone's hair

I am 9 months pregnant and was waiting on the Que for a long time just to get a bottle Of water to my 3 years old son Eventually I went to ask if I can just pay for the water so I can give it to my son and I am in a lot of pain standing up due to my varicose veins and again I’m 9 months pregnant And I was told I had to wait on the Que no matter what by a redhead rude lady. A very bad customer service and I will never ever will come to that place again and I hope in future you get a better staff and more understanding people when someone isn’t feeling well

Horrendous queues, lots of staff behind the counter but service is tiresome and slow. Why can't they have one member of staff on each machine making the drinks as the orders come in and the other staff on the tills taking orders and payments , all members of staff were doing everything themselves causing terrible waiting times. This is not good enough Costa, take note from all the negative reviews! Good management needed.

A relatively large Costa located inside the reception area at Queen's Hospital. I can only comment in respect of my visit to this Costa There were at least ten members of staff working behind the counter. The person who served me was "indifferent" and "customer service" definitely was not offered. I paid for my coffee and immediately I was told to move down (not asked). Other members of staff were chatting to each other in the background. Many of the tables were covered with used cups, wrappers etc. As far as I am concerned, this is the worst branch of Costa that I have used. Costa should look at this branch and consider retraining all the staff in customer care.

Lady who took the order was pleasant. Lady that delivered drinks to waiting area was rude when I explained I could drink my tea with lots of milk. I asked for a little milk she then made another tea with milk in a gave me extra milk on the side she obviously hadn’t listened to my first explanation. I was told I should have asked “I explained I wasn’t asked and I haven’t come here to be told off” the lady in front of me asked for the Wifi password and she rolled her eyes at her as if she asked a question that was to much effort for her. Unfortunately there was some pleasant staff and some totally rude who have no people skills. When you are paying for drinks you expect to be able to drink them and not endure them just so they don’t feel inconvenienced. They are working in a hospital where some people may need a little more compassion or understanding.

OMG how slow are the staff, they have two gears, reverse and park. 20 minutes in a queue on at least three separate occasions now. Staff standing around talking, others not knowing how to operate the register. Get a grip or let another company manage the space.

Terrible, coffee was half filled in the cup and Luke warm. We had two coffee and the way it was like one cup coffee was divided in two cups, the cups were literally half filled. It felt like you pay for two cups but get only one coffee. The lady served us couldn’t be bothered couldn’t be asked. There’s no point paying this price, just go the cafeteria next door and get a good standard coffee in much less!

Shocking inefficiency with 2 staff sweeping and standing around while the queue straddles the length of the hospital. Advocating for a Starbucks or cafe Nero to be opened instead with colleagues due to this.

Sometimes a smile and a “good morning” can be all you need to welcome the day. The team at Queens Cost Coffee always brighten my day. Working at a hospital can sometimes test ones mettle, but the NHS is built on good will, hope and community spirit and these qualities are in evidence in the staff at Queens and in the Costa coffee shop.

Some of the staff, Horrible and rude. I’m taking an elderly lady to see her husband has had a bad stroke and the cups of tea are so big I just want a small cup for her so we could share a tea and they won’t give me one even tho the day before a nice member of staff did. I’m spending 4-5 days up the hospital and spending £7-8 each day and I couldn’t get one cardboard cup because the big ones are too big for her hands. I’m taking my custom else where. Hope that extra 10p they charged me makes a big difference to there lives.

Nice place. The staff is always polite. Last time I was served by Hannah. She is a very lovely lady. She even said "See you later" when we were leaving. It was a nice touch. I like Costa coffee, it never disappoints. The cafe is always clean regularly.

Hannah I believe her name was amazing customer service seemed to be getting grief from other colleagues though which brought the atmosphere down as someone who has worked in a fast food chain it is a hard job to do and long shifts so grief from people you work with is the last thing you want but she was still so nice and served us really politely she also seemed to be the only one trying to serve and deal with orders 2 other workers just standing in the corner almost like avoiding taking orders.

Me and my little sister entered costa on Saturday 11th of March 2023 first walking in customers of the day. Firstly the supervisor in store at the time abruptly told us the que is queuing up from the middle till, even though we'd already paid for our coffee. Secondly, after getting back to the ward with our coffee we was unhappy with our drinks. So we decided to bring them back. We asked for them extra hot and they was warm at best. Then after explaining to the lady on the coffee machine that we wanted our coffee extra hot even if the milk is burnt and she refused laughing at us and telling us she refusing to "serve burnt milk" even though that's the preference we'd asked for. The night before the team had no problem making the coffee as we asked. I explained to the supervisor that we was unhappy and she rudely tried to explain they can only heat the milk to 160. When that is only a recommendation not a requirement as I've worked as a supervisor in a coffee store myself. I've been a loyal customer for 12 years and today's experience was absolutely disgusting. Not only did they not make the drinks we asked for they also need training on customer service skills.

absolutely awful - at 11am this morning que about 12 deep on both sides. 2 staff serving - 2 wasting time pretending to stock shelves which did not need it as nothing was being sold. people just leaving and going into the other food outlets. when i asked if one of the shelf fillers could not serve they looked as if they did not understand me. lady in front says it always like this terrible. went elsewhere in the end and cheaper lh

If you have a milk allergy avoid it. Requested oat decaf latte, saw the lady using dairy milk, complained about it and she called someone else to do another, while they were chatting about something the second lady grabbed the same dairy milk previously boilled by the first lady and used it on my coffe. I had to just walk away, was to ill to complain again. If someone is unsure of what milk you used, show the package and make the entire process clear..we complain because it is our wellbeing you are dealing with..do better

I've just waited almost 20 minutes in the queue here when there was only 7 people in front of me. When I got to the front I was greeted by a staff member who then complained that she had to make my ice drink to to customer behind me. This is in a hospital, you'd think that they would be a little more on the ball.

Always long queue and can take ages to be served. Most staff members seem unhappy in their job and are rushing around the back of the counter with normally 1 person making all the coffees. I spend a lot of money in this place due to my daughter being in hospital a lot so it would be nice for staff to be more friendly, more people making the drinks (which is mostly what people order) and a bit more organisation.

If there was a zero star I would give it to this place. Worst Costa Cafe I've been(and I love my Costa). I work as healthcare assistant inside the hospital and just for a coffee wasted all my lunch hour. The staff do not take into consideration that the people in uniform may be on their break. Always very long queues while the staff just take their time. No sense of urgency or care for the people waiting to be served. I've never seen anything like this.. Best to close this place and put another cafe more suited.. Total waste of space.

This Costa opens at 7am, I arrived at 9am and ordered to eat in. However I was told that I am not allowed as I have to wait until the entire seating area had finished being clean and it would take the afternoon to be done. Very disappointed as it does not take a small seating area over 3 hours to be cleaned, and seating still not available 2 hours after opening!! I therefore had to go somewhere else to sit down and eat. I always order brown bread toast, however they had no brown bread available! I got a croissant and they even served that burnt!!! I requested for a refund, and the supervisor was showing it to the staffs behind the till whilst giving me a dirty look. And then another staff decided to show the ‘burnt croissant. Very unprofessional!!!

Very long queues of staff and visitors waiting to be served and only one barrister working, others cleaning unit with sugars and straws in but left it to go through to the back so no unit with sugars etc available on show. Another staff chatting to a customer for a long time.At 11.15 when we left only a few chairs and tables we’re available the rest of the seats were all on top of the tables with cleaning spray left out. Appeared very disorganised and untidy.

A very convenient Costa Coffee Shop inside the Queens Hospital Romford. Long opening hours make it very accessible, convenient for the hospital visitors and staff. Staff are always very friendly, smiling and welcoming! Love it!

I don’t really understand why this place is so popular. I’ve got a cup of tea and wanted to take some kind of pastry but noticed that there was a fly on their cakes and it didn’t seem to bother anyone from the personnel. So literally the fly was over almost all the pastries and they’ve kept selling it to people and that’s in the hospital! Not to mention that tea taste was horrible too. So to my opinion this place is not only overpriced it still has poor quality products and doesn’t respect the sanitary norms. Do yourself a favor and stay away from it.

It's Costa so you know what you're getting. The one sticking point for me (and this isn't the fault of Costa or their staff) but for the inflated hospital prices you pay at Queen's you can't take your drink into any of the wards to a waiting friend or relative.

Ordered a frostino and a toasty, ended up standing around waiting for ages as no one had passed on my order so my drink had never been made it was only after I got my toasty that a lady asked if I was waiting for a drink too, no one knew anything about my drinks order yet I had just paid for it. I work in retail too so I understand how a bad review looks so I don’t usually do one but this place needs improving both the Costa AND the hospital!

If I could rate a zero then I would. Turned up for late lunch to be served by a girl who didn’t understand any English so my bacon sandwich order she fishy understand, So another server took over and paid, waited 20ish minutes for my sandwich, everyone who came in after me got their food and I was still waiting. So asking another server where my lunch was apparently order got lost somewhere over the rainbow I guess, then 5 minutes passed and a complimentary fresh tea arrived took a bite from my very late bacon sandwich and it was dry as a bone no butter, so took up sandwich and owner/manager said apparently about allergies that’s why they don’t butter them, ridiculous why not ask customer first instead of just not doing it, so I asked for a refund of my money which they did and I left, I really should’ve read the reviews first before entering, your loss della continental!

I find it quite extraordinary to read the reviews below.I can not speak for their delivery service but if any of you lazy people who now have a further excuse for not going out and actually get some excersise decide to eat in it may balance their jaundiced review of this place. I have to say I feel the need to mention the elephant in the room which is that the hard working staff,especially those who work at the counter may be guilty of racism.I am a white British male over sixty years old and I have a strong feeling that because the women are predominantly Muslim and wear habibs this might be the trigger for some of the nasty reviews.I should add that I am of a religion that would not be expected to speak up for Muslims ! I am not a regular but have been to KFC Hornchurch every so often when I take a night off from eating healthily.! I have never found the staff to be rude.They are always very busy and maybe do not have time for niceties but are always polite. Twice I have got confused and made errors which were rectified immediately and on a rare occasion when my fries were not hot enough they were replaced right away. The food is always as it should be.Tasty and enjoyable. I do not recognise any of the negative reviews as being representative of the KFC I go to. My advice is don’t take notice of the reviews and try it for yourself and judge accordingly

Ordered takeaway. They rang to say the driver was lost but after 2 hours and many phone calls I gave up. The pizza never turned up. Manager was awful. Ordered from another local pizzeria which arrived in 20 mins. Did eventually get a refund but doesn’t make up for the service. Will never use this branch again.

Useless at getting your order correct. Ordered 2 Filet burger meals and a zinger tower meal and drove home 20 minutes to Brentwood. Indoors we discover there is only one fillet burger in the bag. I mean how difficult is it to get orders correct? Just shear laziness or stupidity or I don't give a f#@ attitude. So in effect they just stole money off me.

Possibly the worst subway on the planet. The staff are very rude, grumpy and slow. There’s 1 member of staff in particular who is by far the king of rudeness. He obviously doesn’t want to be there. From his demeanour I would guess he’s a senior member of staff. Terrible. Sometimes due to lack of options I have to use this establishment but it pains me to give them a penny!
