COSMO Aberdeen in Aberdeen City

I went to Cosmo, Aberdeen on a Monday lunchtime. I’m pescatarian, so would not be eating any of the normal meat dishes. I was a little unsure whether I would find the choice fitted with my fussy requirements. The staff very kindly let me take a look around before commiting to a table. Wow … it really was a no brainer. So much choice … where do you start? I started with a selection of Sushi and then went to the Teppanyaki station where they cooked me fresh salmon and king prawns. After that I sampled various other dishes, including tempura prawn and pangasius fish. Certainly enough to satisfy my pescatarian cravings. There were so many other things I wanted to try. I tried a bit of this .. and a bit of that. I loved the soy aubergines! Unfortunately, I had to admit defeat, but I came away very impressed! I will return!

Glad we tried Cosmo in Aberdeen as it was fantastic from start to finish. The choice was great in every section and loved it all. Service was super too and staff couldn't do enough. Great, we'll come again when we're in Aberdeen.

Very average, soup 10 out of 10, starters and mains all cold Luke warm at the best, Teppanyaki counter decent got steak and prawns from there that was cooked fresh and hot, concerns over the mixing of raw meats on same griddle if you have allergies. Went to sit down to eat steak asked for steak knife sorry we do not do steak knives,unreal. Sweet counter another 10 out of 10. Also charged a service charge when you basically serve yourself would I return it's a big No from us.

Very nice restaurant. A much smaller range than other ones I have been to but still a good range of choices. Desert choice was nice but all the same type of desert. The staff were very good at clearing the table of plates. Bar staff need to speak louder and more clear very hard to understand them. Was much nicer seating. Very good price for 4 people to have as much food as we could eat.

Had family up visiting us in aberdeen and we were going to order takeaway but we couldn't decide what to eat, one person suggested Indian food, another chinese and my 3yr old shouted pizza 😀 so I said what about Cosmo as they have everything ! Plus no dishes for me lol. I noticed a little price increase since our last visit which was august 2023, but thought oh well it's a treat, honestly I was blown away with the taste and presentation of the food there tonight very yummy meals, the ingredients tasted like better quality than before and the selection was huge for a Tuesday night, it was also very busy and the staff were friendly and food replenished quickly, the restaurant was looking as good as ever but the bathrooms were a bit worse for wear with paneling falling off, dodgy flushes, loose locks and when I used the bathroom at the end of the meal there was no loo roll, i mentioned to the staff and it was restocked speedily. all in all a very full tummy and happy family. Big bonus was 10% blue light discount 💙

Been here a few times with my wife when visiting Aberdeen. We love the choice of food which is much better than other buffet restaurant. Never seems busy despite being full. A very pleasant eating experience.

We come here every year, the food is fantastic and the staff are very helpful. The place is clean and the food is constantly topped up.

My husband and I visited to celebrate my birthday on a trip to Aberdeen (we're from Edinburgh). The restaurant is completely wheelchair accessible with a good accessible toilet. I like the layout and was able to have a look at the food so that I could choose what I wanted to eat. Also, I could see the food labels at a lower level.

Pros Food was in the main good. Crispy pork was really nice. Not too busy Very clean restaurant Good location Cons Expensive Deserts could have been better. Service was slow to clear our tables. Slow at refilling the popular dishes (chicken curry, crispy pork). Ice cream machine only to be used for cones. Service charge added without our knowledge.

Huge selection of different food at each station, topped up several times while we were there so always plenty to go round. Much more cost effective during the week or lunch, with less choice but still just as nice. Pics from saturday dinner service. Been there for dinner today (23 July 2023) they used to serve Indian style samosh and I love samosha . But today was different one how can they serve chinese flavour sAmosha as an Indian starter? . Bit disappointed. Lamb Rogan josh and garlic chicken was very authentic. Love those curry . Hope the will correct this error thank you

Good range of food - layout is a bit cramped at the back to watch out for, but never left hungry so far! Need to book well in advance though as being near the train station makes it busy.

First time we'd been to a Cosmo restaurant but have been plenty other buffet restaurants mainly overseas. I suppose you get what you pay for when it comes to Cosmo. Lots of choices of dishes and you can pack your plate time and time again, along with the masses who seem to frequent the restaurant for that very purpose. Good variety of Chinese food (albeit for British taste) as well as Indian sub-continent dishes. For European cuisine there was something that appeared to be pizza but not like anything you would actually get served in Italy but rather something you might see at a childrens party in Scotland. Likewise the pasta carbonara which seemed to be horrendously overcooked and soggy rigatoni or similar with a sauce that was more like milk in consistency. Chips/fries in a tray drying out fast, along with breaded onion rings and even fish fingers. More like the Cote d'Pittodrie than the Cote d'Azur. For starters there was sushi (of the cheapest variety.....think plant-based, green stuff as filling rather than salmon, tuna or similar, salads, prawns etc. Dessert was however quite surprising and good. A plethora of pastries, cakes, sponges as well as ice cream and a lovely dish featuring diced banana in custard. I kid you not, it was actually tasty. So OK, the Cosmo buffet is not going to win any Michelin stars but t doesn't cost like that either. If you want to go and stuff yourself it's actual fairly good value and if you look at some of the other customers, I reckon they must go there for lunch and dinner each day. Glad I experienced it and don't regret the cost, just not sure that I would rush back unless I wanted to have one meal for an entire month.

Love the place, but very rude manager, named William. Worse experience I had here, and I have going to this place for 8 years. No Colin, no Steven, just a guy named William, that shouldn’t even be parking cars, even more managing this restaurant. Won’t be going there when this individual is on!!!!!

Doesn't matter when you go always a good selection of food. Love the sushi and the freshly prepared grill.

Affordable all you can eat buffet with an excellent selection of dishes from around the world! 100% recommended.

Anybody experienced this kind of treatment from COSMO staff? Went there lunch time, qued for looong time outside the door, then finally led to the table, a woman wearing red uniform came to me and invite me OUT OF THE TABLE AGAIN just to tell me IN FRONT OF LOTS OF PEOPLE that i have to QUE AGAIN ! because they only accept people who got booking. Thats VERY RUDE to turn your customer away just after being led to the table!! You making your customer feel that we can only afford cheap restaurant when thats not the point as your price per person specially during holiday is not the cheapest either. Also the way the staff approached me sounded like its my fault that I was led to the table though without booking, ITS NOT OUR FAULT that YOU DIDN'T INFORM the customers BEFORE you made us que for long time in a cold. You could've put one of your staff AT THE DOOR to inform all your QUEING customers that theres no walk in but only booked in OR PUT SIGNAGE AT THE DOOR SAYING "ONLY ACCEPT BOOKED IN!" So simple to do right?! So simple to do but it saves a lot of PEOPLE'S VALUED TIME and be able to find other place to go instead. I felt humiliated infront of a lot of people who thought its my fault that I tried to sneak in when in fact I'VE QUED LOOONG TIME OUTSIDE, you shouldn't treat your customers in a rude manner specially infront of others, thats humiliation! You think you're the best restaurant in aberdeen! Surely not the cheapest either these days as your price going up also. How would walk in customers know that COSMO only accept people who booked in if theres NO ANY SIGNAGE attached at the door that they only accept booked in and no walk in that time. A lot of people qued in a cold outside and then once got in COSMO staff then just turn us away for the reason that they only accept who got booking first and walk in can wait until all booked in customers comes!!!

As usual tasty food but a bit expensive now. We paid almost £54 for 2 (2 lunch + 2 soft drink refills ). It is no cheap anymore.

Visited with family and friends for Granddaughter's birthday party. At reception they doubted if they could cater for vegans but they were wrong. Waiting staff were very helpful, brought plain boiled rice for me and a choice of two vegan cakes for dessert. The generous portion of moist caramel and chocolate cake was delicious. The buffet used the perspex allergen triangles for all items so I could easily choose what to eat as a vegan. I had loads to eat and lots of variety. I just hope my local Cosmo buffet in Newcastle is as good when I try it.

Paid a visit with some of our family, 4 young people and three adults. Been many years since I was last here and I forgot what an abundance of choices there are. I don’t like spicy food and some of the sauces were too hot for me, but that’s my problem. Some of the food was okay but it wasn’t for me. Was very busy and was a bit of a pandemonium in the Asian section with kids running around and noticed little fingers poking the dishes. YUK

Been twice now and find it very reasonable for price.Lots of choice and lots of puddings too,win win !!

Had lunch at Cosmo on a Thursday afternoon over Christmas, very busy. There’s loads of options to choose from but I was a bit underwhelmed by the standard of food. For £15 it’s not overly cheap so would just expect to be a bit more impressed. Naan bread, honey chilli chicken, desserts and service all very good.

We went on a quite evening and all food was in short supply!I asked for a steak and the chef said they were not cooking steaks that evening, so I opted for lamb, which half way through cooking he covered liberally with salt!! I asked him to stop which he did, so I asked him to cook without salt which he was very unhappy about!! Chefs just ASSUME that salt MUST be added!!!Basically inedible!!We also observed customer using their finger to take food and one took a bite from one of the dishes and put the item back in the serving tray!!!

We went on a Saturday. You must book a table. It was extremely busy as we went just as it opened for dinner. The food was lovely but I would say book for slightly later than when it opens so you don’t have to queue for so long to pick food. Overall very good and would go back.

Cosmo is one of the better buffet style restaurants. The food is good without being startling, but that’s not a surprise when you consider the sheer volume of dishes available and there’s something for everyone here! Steaks/scallops etc are available and are cooked in front of you. The kids will love the choice available and the desert menu (especially the chocolate fountain!!). It can feel a little rushed when it’s busy and the que around the food can take a few minutes but food is refreshed often. All in all not a bad place for a family meal.

Lovely staff and food WAS good. Cosmo is also handy if you are hungry and need good food fast. What I liked about this Cosmo was it waasnt huge and the atmosphere was nice and relaxed

Great choice of food with something to suit all ages and tastes. Bit of a wait on a Saturday lunchtime, but it just shows that people are willing to wait for good food. Staff efficient and tables cleaned quickly. Only criticism is that the dessert selection runs out and doesn't get refilled that often.

As far as buffets go this was pretty good and the kids liked it - they don’t usually like this type of place so that was good. We all pretty much stuck to the sushi and the oriental food which was why we went and it was good. Surprised no Korma in the indian selection. Chinese was good. I wouldn’t say it was cheap as we really didn’t eat that much but it was something different. For the larger appetite there was certainly some fully loaded plates! No ill effects post meal so that was good. I would likely go back. I thought the staff were friendly enough.

My first time here after a lot of recommendations from friends. Good atmosphere and food I had was good. My only small niggle was there was limited mains dishes that were vegetarian. I ended up having predominantly starters to fill plate which was OK for me, but would have liked a veggie curry options for a main also.

Everything about this restaurant is average. The queuing system for the self service food was non existent so complete mayhem. The food itself was OK but some dishes were better than others. Children had their fingers in a lot of the dishes, particularly puddings, which put me off but the kids love the experience so they were happy.

Wide choice of meals, great Thai selection and lovely curries. The food was fresh and was closely checked by staff who were monitoring the temperature of the various dishes. Also some great vegetarian options, including desserts.
